I'm here for ya, got that?
Okay so this is my first story so please tell me what you think any and all criticism is welcome I hope you enjoy it!!!
Revan looked up at the night sky feeling a breeze come up through the woods as he lay on the ground with his shirt off enjoying the air on his chest. Revan was a 6 ft, medium build, black wolf with a white eyebrows that set off his eyes his left being gold that seemed to peirce right through all it looked upon and his right being a deep forest green that seemed endless in its depths. He was also a bit of a mystery to everyone but he was kind, respectful, sarcastic somewhat, spirited and fun to be around and also helped everyone he could if they needed help. His tattoo on his upper left arm was red and in the shape of an egyptian eye. He sighed as he looked down at his watch which showed it was close to midnight "Time to get beack to the dorms." He said quitely not wanting to break the peace of the woods which the night held in its silent, protective grasp. Revan got up and put his white tshirt on and dusted off his black and red embroided shorts and started to make his way back down the trail he knew he would be late getting in but at least the campus wasnt gated so it would be easier to get back to his room. His phone sarted vibrating and he looked down to see his friend Luke calling him. "Hello whats up man? Your never up this late." He felt the bear give a yawn and muble. " Not much just checking up on ya." Revan found this to be odd because the bear lived off campus up near the peak 4 miles away. "Well Im fine thanks, but why are you checking up on me?" He said surprised at the harsh tone his voice took. But the bear didn't seem to notice as he heard him yawn. "well you just seem distant these past few days and going off on your own all the time so I felt the need to just see if your doing okay I mean its not really like you." Revan smiled at the bear's concern for him they had been friends since the begininng of their freshman year and they clicked really well and the bear had always been there for him as Revan had always been there for Luke. He told the bear to go back to sleep and that he was fine, afterwards he stood in his clearing for a bit longer and looked up at the moon before heading back down to the campus.
Revan woke up to huge body jumping on his bed and a pillow from the sofa being thrown at him. "Wake up, wake up its already 6 am!" Revan opened his bleary eyes he hadnt slept well he hadnt been for the past few days. "Could you please curl up in a ditch somewhere and die." He said tiredly putting a pillow on his face. Luke a 7ft brown grizzly who was naturally built like bouncer and often called himself Revan's body guard was in general a fun loving, calm, loving kind of guy, looked down at his friend he noticed that his friend looked like he hadn't slept at all and knew that there was something going on with him despite the fact that the wolf had been putting on a face but he could see right through it. Still he knew the wolf would tell him what was up when he was ready. He got off the bed and ripped the covers off seeing that Revan had choosen to sleep in his boxers or rather try to sleep. Revan jumped up with a start and threw the pillow at Luke putting a satisfied grin on his face as the pillow hit the bears face. "Im up, what time is it again?" he said yawning as he got up and stretched. Luke grinned and said with a playful hurt tone. "For such a nice guy you sure are a jerk in the morning I mean what if that pillow knocked me unconciouss?" Revan got up and started walking to the bathroom that was connected to his bedroom patting the bear on the stomach as he passed and said nonchalantly while smiling up at him. "I probably would have laughed first." Luke just chuckled and set about fixing Revan some breakfst which consisted of oatmeal and coffee. After awhile they headed out to their first class the day passing by in a flurry of lectures on biochemical theory and myriad of other things. After school Revan and Luke hung around for awhile talking to their friends making plans and jokes, once they said goodbye luke turned to Revan. "Thank god its friday I hate lecture week, lets go get a bite at my place and then we can train at our usual spot." Revan silently nodded clearly only half listening and thinking about something else. What are you thinking, whats wrong? The bear thought as he started walking to his car Revan close behind. The ride to Lukes house was about 20 minutes with the way the bear drove and Revan sensing he had been to quite and wanted to avoid questions started talking and making jokes with the bear putting on one of his 'faces' as he thought of them. For the past few weeks his dreams had been filled with horrific nightmares and now over the course of the past few days they had been pushing him to stay awake the once blissful arms of dreaming now became a hellish cage for him to avoid, he had been successful in not letting anyone know but Luke he knew knew something was wrong. They pulled up to Lukes apartment a rather sizeable one and went inside setting there things down with grateful sighsat letting go the reminders of their academic prison for the weekend. "Hmm I have some spaghetti i made last night that we can eat before we head down." Revan grinned and said playfully. "Oh lord not more of your god awful cooking you almost killed me last time." The bear laughed a litle sarcastically. "It no my fault you cant learn to chew before you swallow, geez you think you would have got that after preschool!" Revan merely laughed following Luke into his kitchen sitting down at the counterwatching as he took out a large blue bowl and put it in the microwave. Luke was wearing a red t shirt and black jeans but it was the shirt that Revan was drawn to it really did make the bears brown fur seem softer and his muscles a little more pronounced he also noticed the slight caramel tint on the bears ears. Revan found himself staring and berrated himself for it and stopped knowing he couldnt allow himself that kind of luxury he didnt want to think of anyone like that. They ate making jokes about Lukes cooking. They both finished and Revan stood taking both his and Luke's plate and setting them in the sink Luke stood and stretched. "Well Im going ahead and getting changed into my gear you should to." The bear took off his shirt and threw it over his shoulder walking out of the kitchen and up the stairs to his room Revan went to his bag and took out his black tank top and shorts changing quickly. He already felt weak and drawn but felt that he could make it through todays training. Luke and Revan were both martial artist's and trained more for enjoyment then actual combat. Luke came down a min later wearing just his martial arts pants and they both headed down to their training spot which was a secluded spot in the woods much like Revan's hideaway. Luke bent down in front of a large box and opened the clasps and threw Revan one his favorite weapons the Bo staff. He twirled around his body warming up as Luke grabbed his. Luke had a plan in his mind he going to wear down the wolf and see just how tired he was and depending on the outcome would demand an answer from him.
They took thier stances both waiting. Revan was preparing himsef more mentally then physically feeling weak as he was but he refused to back out of a training bout. Luke struck first twirling his staff in a backwards blow aiming for the wolf's left side in an effort to test his defenses and his reaction time. Revan barely managed to block the blow in time and even hd to take a step backwards. He twirled his own staff bringing it around hoing to take out the bears legs out from under him, but was to slow and ended up having to back track just to get breathing room as the bear pressed the attacked. This continued for several minutes and Revan was drawing upon the last reserves of his stamina knowing that he had to end this quickly but knew that he didn't have the strength left for it but he refused to give up. Suddenly he couldnt feel the staff in his hands anymore and it dropped from him he saw the bear was coming in for an overhead blow but saw that it was to late for the bear to stop it and it came crashing down knocking him into unconciousness and into the hell of his dreams. Luke saw his friend drop his staff and could already see the horror devloping before him, He rushed to his friends aid trying to wake but realized that the wolf was knocked out pretty decently and after some quick thinking he gently picked up his friend and started caryying him back to his place. "You idiot if you were this tired and weak why didn't you say something? What the hell is wrong with you?" The bear was angry not just at the wolf but at himself he should never of gone with idea he should of stopped when he first saw Revan stumbling but he didn't. And he was anrgy that the wolf was obviously trying to keep something hidden from him that was causing him a great amount of distress. A few minutes later he sat Revan down on his bed and went to get a damp cloth and put it Revan's head.
He stayed by friends side and soon began to notice that he was whimpering and struggling in his sleep. "Whats wrong please tell me." Luke said as he watched friend fight against his sleep. "You'll never have anyone close to you. Your just a second rate peice of filth." Revan looked around at the surrounding darkness trying to discern where the voice had come from. "You know they'll never stand by you if they knew about you. If he knew about you, you should just give up being alive theres no point in it for you." "you wrong he.... They would never abandon me!" Revan shouted but the darkness merely chuckled and spoke as if an adult to a child. "You tell yourself that but you doubt those words I can hear it in you voice your full of doubt. Doubt at your friend should he ever find out." Luke was about to get another damp cloth when he heard Revan speak in his sleep. "No its.... Not true he wouldn't leave... me......I need." Revan was begining to sweat his dream obviously becoming more violent and Luke began to wonder f it would even be a good idea to let sleep if it was this horrorific for him. Suddenly he got an idea and got his friends cell phone from his bag down stairs and looked until he found an= contact named father and pressed send. He thought that maybe Revan's dad could answer a few questions about the wolf and maybe find out what was going on. "Hello who is this?" Odd Luke thought why wouldn't he know his sons own number? "hello sir this is Luke im your sons friend from college and I....." Suddenly he was cut off from a growl on the other line. "I dont care about that faggot and I never will that little queer has no relation to me at all and you can tell him that until he gets himself over this little faggot B.S. he will not hear a word from me." The phone clicked and Luke was left there stunned not really sure what to say. Revan, gay? Was this what had been bothering him? Was his dreams then about the fear of being abandon should anyone find out he was gay? Luke stood there and it all made sense to him now he couldnt believe that this was what was plaguing his friend. He went back up stairs and sat back down on the bed where Revan was still whimpering and struggling in his sleep and deciding that he needed to wake his friend up for his own good he put his hand on Revan's shoulder and gently began to shake him calling his name. Revan woke with a yell sitting bolt upright and breathing hard but he looked around and saw Luke sitting by him, his hand on is chest gently pushing him back down, and he was a bit calmer. The bear looked at the wolf trying to decide to go from here but he ushed those thoughts away first right now he was just glad his friend was awake. "Hey little one," That was his pet name for Revan whenever they were alone and something was up. "you ok?" Revan felt his head groaning. "I wish, looks like I lost that bout huh?" He said laughing a bit, but Luke looked him seriously making the wolf silent. "Why didn't you tell me you were that exhuasted? Look I know we're best friends and I really do care about you but when you dont tell me when somethings oviously bothering you and dont tell me theres not because I can see it. Theres something wrong isn't there? Please just tell me Im here for ya." Revan's eyes were a mix of fear, sadness, anger and doubt. But the wolf was making an effort to keep a mask of coolness in place. "I gotta go I got somethings I need to do back at campus." He said trying to get but found the bear was still holding him in place Revan tried to struggle against it but found inhis current state that he couldn't really struggle against the bear. "Look I'm fine would you just please let me up." He said reassuringly, Luke let him up but he had a look of sterness about him. Luke was about to head to the bathroom to run some water over his face when the bear spoke. "I tried calling someone on your phone to get some help because my phone was down and I got a hold of your dad....." Revan stopped suddenly as if frozen in his steps shock covering his features his breath stopped in his chest. Please not like this could he have found out? He thought desparetly. He didnt turn or say anything. Luke got up and started walking to the wolf. "Look are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me? Im here for you no matter what but you gotta tell me whats going on if you want me to help." He placed a hand on the Wolfs shoulder making him jump. Revan quickly turned hiding his face and walking quickly out of the room. "I.... gotta go theres something I have to do." Revan was now running down the stairs and out the door not stopping he ran all the way back to the campus needing air. He decided that he needed to be at his hideaway and started walking to the woods. "How can I be so stupid!" He growled at himself he knew he shouldn't have kept his father's number but he did liking to think he still talked to him and it was reassuring to him on some levels and now it was start of him losing everything again. He didn't know how much Luke knew but he couldnt afford to stay near him he had to give him space and he needed to face the fact that he could have very well of lost one his greatest friends. Luke had not seen or heard from Revan over the course of the weekend and thought that today at school he might be beter and planned to talk to him.
But that mission proved to be difficult Revan sat away from him and doged him and all of their group in the halls, but he followed the wolf anyway not letting him out of his sight always there to talk to him when he was ready. He ran into Revan after school in the locker room they were just finishing up their Kendo class. Revan gave a quick glance at Luke but not much else He finally decided to make the first move and went over to his friend and sat beside him but the wolf moved away a bit. "Revan look will you just talk to me." Luke said surprised at the commanding tone in his voice but thought nothing of it. Revan didn't turn but froze again as if hoping the words were'nt aimed at him, Luke got up and put his hand on the wolf's shoulder trying to turn him. Revan growled defensively pushing away the hand saying harshly. "Im fine back off." "No your not Revan I can see your hurting on the inside and your trying to avoid me because your afraid ...." Suddenly Revan turned around his gold eye burning with anger and his green one seeming to peirce right through him the effect was intimidating and slightly unnerving as well. "You dont know anything, you dont know a damn thing!" Revan tried his hardest to keep his eyes from tearing up but couldn't stop it, Luke simply stood there a look of hurt but understanding on his face. "Your right I dont know that much but I do know that I am your friend and nothing that you can do that will change that." "Now I want you to come with me so we can talk allright?" Luke began to walk to the exit at the back of the locker room and Revan stood torn between what the bear said and the instinct of wanting to run away. Taking a deep breath hestarted to walk in the direction of his friend ready to finally open up.
