WIP Haunting Movie (M/M, Cub)

I moved to a small orchard when I was young, about six years old where I did meet someone that was a year younger than me. This boy was popular as I'd find out, and I got along well with him while we knew each other. Over time he grew apart from me until we last saw each other when I was eleven years old.

I remember some confusing thoughts about him, and growing up in a household where homosexuality was taboo I was heavily repressing many of my feelings and thoughts. I remember the way my heartrate rapidly increased when I once saw this boy in his underwear. I remember that I had a gym class where the boys had to shower, and that I secretly wished I was in the same gym class as him.

I didn't realize what I was feeling until years later. I had a very strong crush on this boy, might've even loved him... though how does a 9 to 11 year old understand such strong emotions? Especially when the very thing was taboo, forbidden, ostracized in my household and society as a whole at the time?

The exposition of this story at the beginning is partially true, from the caracal's (my) perspective, and how I wished things would have gone with the boy from my childhood went. Plus some extra "fun" because we all know that's why you read these stories. :3

Leaves had started to change their colors from their summer green to all sorts of autumn reds, oranges and yellows. Nights had grown longer, and with it the cold had crept back in after being absent for the long and hot summer.

Summer was full adventures for two feline friends. Sleepovers, swimming, fishing, biking and numerous games were played. Lyle, the cougar was the larger and more confident of the two felines even though a year younger at the age of ten. He often initiated the activities because while Lyle was the confident cougar, Kileona was the far more timid and shy caracal at the age of eleven. Kileona found that he was only becoming more timid around the far more popular cougar. He often found Lyle's confidence and extroverted personality to be... not intimidating but overwhelming at times. Kileona admired the cougar's outgoing and fun attitude, and often thought himself unworthy to be best friends with someone such as Lyle.

Unbeknownst to the caracal, Lyle endeared his company. Kileona was reserved and shy, but the ambition and competitive spirit would often come out of the smaller feline during any sort of game they'd play. Competitive when playing, but Lyle also appreciated the fact that the caracal wasn't doing it to show off like so many other cubs their age. Kileona tried hard and wouldn't give up until the game was over. Lyle could have fun with the caracal without either of them getting upset about the results of whatever game they'd participate in.

During a sleepover with many of Lyles friends, they all camped in the basement of his home. Using sleeping bags, most cubs were in pajamas or shorts but Luke undressed down to his briefs when he was under the covers. Closing his eyes, he tried to drift off to sleep while ignoring the heat but Kileona, laying next to him, was having difficulties with the heat in which he was rolling around. That caused Lyle to briefly open his eyes and he saw the caracal roll, lifting part of his covers to let out heat before settling down again. Unknown to Kileona, Lyle was awake and briefly saw the caracal in his briefs when he had briefly shuffled around.

Lyle felt something at that sight. Butterflies ticked within his stomach, his heart rate quickened and a strange almost surreal sensation grew as if it were some dream. The emotions were new to him, foreign, and he didn't understand them or why they had even manifested. He saw Kileonas exposed flat belly, his cute white briefs, his soft thighs in just a brief instant, and he... liked it. He didn't understand why but he did enjoy the sight and, to his surprised, desired to see Kileona again like that.

Kileona did not roll around any more that night, and despite Lyles attempts to understand the strange new feelings, and desires, he too quickly fell asleep.

Lyle never mentioned it but he did find himself drawn to seek the company of the caracal more than normal. Both felines had been friends since they were about six and seven years old and they were nearly neighbors. Living less than a block away from each other in their rural town. That fact greatly delighted Lyle as he often would ride his bike to Kileonas and try to hang out and play with him during the rest of the summer.
