Heartless Dragon 6 part 2 Family Conflict

I haven't written about this story in so long and I thank Anonymous G3 for reminding me I still have this story.

Also, the name of the title will change later on since it seems to not be connected to the story so be on the look out for it.

Heartless Dragon 6 part 2 Family Conflict

The flight over the Pacific Ocean was a beautiful sight to be seen. Well it was for Aurora that is. She hasn't visited the ocean since well... before her family got in that accident. A car accident was no way for someone to end up in a coma. Her father might be dead but she still had her brother and mother and that is all that matters. Her mother's brothers and sisters however where the last of their families and they were killed some time ago. She believed it was by Shadeians but no one could clarify it. They were all working in some type of project with them and that may have lead to sabotage. No one knew.

Derek on the other hand was thinking on how he was going to protect Aurora from her family and nearly a city of Shadeians. It has been a long time since he has visited his family.

The only protection he brought with him was the sphere which can only project a small energy shield that can protect them only once. He hadn't had time to fully test it out and prayed that he didn't have to use it.

During their flights, Aurora encountered marine life dolphins. They were feral but they talked to her as they jumped out of the water. She flew lower to the ocean to feel their splashes and to speak with them. It seemed odd though that they kept on asking her why she was going to Hawaii. She just answered 'she didn't know.' She was just following her mate.

At the mention of that, they looked up to see who it is and swam away. She found it odd that they would leave so she flew back up to meet Derek, who was so concentrated on getting to the island.

About nearly two hours on flight, Derek finally spotted the island, as did Aurora and they both flew faster to their destination.

They landed on a part of the beach for others to land and were greeted by four Hawaiian female gray dolphins. All were anthro and they were wearing hula skirts and coconut bras.

Derek knew who the group's leader was.

"Hello Ashel. Hello girls."

The girls waved and Ashel gave Derek a familiar hug. Aurora wasn't expecting this but watched from the sides.

The two separated and looked at each other.

"Dear Derek." She said in a sweet voice. Her eyes were very seductive and beautiful. "It has been far too long that you have visited us and your family. Why is that?"

Derek chuckled.

"I've been busy trying to save us from the enemy. Why else?"

She chuckled and turned her attention to the White dragoness standing by.

"Who is this?" she asked.

Derek brought Aurora closer to him.

"This is my mate, Aurora. She and I work for the military."

Aurora smiled and said "Hello."

Ashel only gave a smile before turning her focus back on Derek.

"Our friends from the sea told us that you were coming so we are preparing a stay for you two."

'So that is why they left.' Though Aurora as she continued to listen to the two.

"Thank you Ashel. I just wish that I could have come sooner to visit you and my family."

Ashel just chuckled.

"You always did make excuses when we were younger and you still do it today. Not much has changed from you childhood, has it?"

Derek just smiled.

"Not much though I do miss the occasional swimming lessons from you."

"You mean the lessons that you never completed." She said in a mock of playful anger.

Derek shrugged.

"Hey, I didn't know I was moving away Ashel. If I had known, then maybe I could have finished them."

Ashel nodded and sighed.

"Still I and the others have missed you." She mentioned to the other hula girls who nodded and turned around to begin set up a place for them.

Derek gave a slight smile.

"If anything is that I missed you most of my childhood." He hugged her and both began walking towards the place they were going to stay at. Aurora was just dumbfounded at what was happening. She just walked slowly and watch the two 'childhood friends.'

Once they arrived in their prepared room, Derek thanked Ashel and gave her a final hug before he and Aurora got used to the place. It seemed so fancy but it was just a normal room for the ones that lived here. A large room with a large king sized bed. The walls were colored like the sky and the ocean with starfish hanging and dolphins in the waters with many other aquatic features all over. The television was small but the room had a small freezer and a microwave as well.

Derek was washing his face in the bathroom while Aurora sat on the bed. She sighed and thought how Derek and Ashel acted was something like best friends.

"Hey Derek?" she called out.

"Yes?" he asked as he used a bathroom towel to wipe out all of the water.

"Why is it that the dolphin girl knew you so well? You two were best friends or something?"

Derek put the towel back on to sink and walked out of the bathroom.

"Why do you ask?"

Aurora just shrugged.

"Just wondering, because the way she hugged you and the way she talks to you is like old best friends."

Derek sighed and sat by her.

"Well she is my best friend. We were childhood playmates before the Shadeians went into hiding. We lived close to each other and played almost everyday and during school. She moved here when we went into hiding. So whenever I came to visit, she was always here and always stayed as friends. At one point she and I were boyfriend and girlfriend."

Aurora went a bit wide eyed about this. She never knew that he had a girlfriend before.

Derek saw her reaction and spoke out before she did.

"Yes I know I never told you but it wasn't anything serious, well not at first. We soon found out that I couldn't stay here because my life was in Van Angeles. Not to mention that she had lived underwater most of the time and I couldn't breathe underwater. So we just decided to be best friends. If I was a water dragon then I probably would have stayed with her. Along with that, she didn't care that I was a dragon but I told her a sad truth that you and I know about dragons."

Aurora was glad that he wasn't a water dragon but she knew why they couldn't be together. First off was because Derek's life was a hard one with trying to defend the country and all. Something could end up happening and she would have been in great despair. And the second reason was because... well, dragons outlast all the living creatures on earth. And if they had gone into a relationship, Derek would be broken when she has reached her last prime of her life. It was a sad thing really.

She hadn't realized that Derek had come over and hugged her.

"Why the hug?" she asked softly.

HE sighed and pushed her back a bit.

"I'm afraid of what might happen."

She looked at him.

"What might happen about what?"

He looked into her eyes.

"I'm... afraid that if any Shadeians find you here so close to my home that they might think that you're a spy or something and try to harm you and I just can't handle that."

Aurora just lowered her eyes brows, giving him a bit of an angry look.

"So what are you saying? You saying I can't defend myself, is that it?"

Derek shook his head.

"I'm not saying that. I am just saying that I... don't want to lose you. That is why I want you to stay here in till I can just visit my family for a bit and then we leave."

Aurora grew a bit angrier and looked at him.

"Derek, I am your mate and you are mine. Mates are supposed to handle anything together and that is what I plan to do. I will go and visit your family whether you want me too are not!"

Derek knew he couldn't stop her if he wanted to but he sighed and nodded.

"Fine but we leave when the sun goes down. In the mean time...let's just relax."

She sighed and nodded. He lied back on the bed as did she with her in his arms. They didn't say anything just rested their eyes and soon fell asleep.

They didn't wake up in till it was evening. They both realized that they slept and both were well rested. They both got up and walked out of their room.

The evening was beautiful with the sun at the horizon, leaving beautiful reddish and several of other colors in the skies.

Ashel came by and looked to Derek.

"Well, I hope everything goes well with you family, Derek."

Derek nodded.

"As do I. I haven't seen them in a number of years."

Ashel walked a bit closer.

"I am sure you will be fine." Her eyes then went to Aurora.

"I pray that what you see here is never told by anyone outside of the world."

Aurora was a bit puzzled but remembered the Shadeians are to be in hiding and no one on earth, except for a few, knew where they were.

Aurora nodded.

Ashel then looked back at Derek.

"Well... good luck. And tell your mother I said 'Hi'. I haven't spoken to her in months."

"Will do." Said Derek. He turned to Aurora. "You ready?"

She nodded.

Both of them opened their wings and leaped into the air. Ashel waved at them as they flew with Derek leading the way.

They didn't go far, just to the volcano which hasn't been active in years, thanks to the few element dragons in which help keep it like that.

Derek and Aurora flew over the volcano where the crater was hardened.

"From here on," said Derek. "I guide us in. IF anything, I know how these passages work, so I have to carry you so you don't hit anything."

Aurora nodded and flew close to him. He brought her two his arms and they both looked at each other.

With the sun setting, the skies turning into beautiful colors, it was a beautiful moment. Derek wasted no time and kissed her gently on the lips. Aurora returned the kiss and both of them stayed like that for a few moments before they separated and looked at each other. They both had a smile before Derek held her tightly.

"Now, it is going to be a little frightening at first but I just need you to trust me. I want you to keep your wings open and I will guide us. We are going straight down into a long tunnel."

Aurora looked down and only saw the large crater. Derek smiled.

"It's hidden so no one but a Shadeian could find it."

Aurora nodded and held on tightly.

"Should I close my eyes?"

Derek just nodded.

"Yes. We are going to fall down so brace your self hard against me."

Aurora gave a light smile.

"Like a mating flight." She said.

Derek smiled and kissed her again.

"Like a mating flight." He repeated to her with a smile.

She nodded and closed her eyes and held herself hard against him. Derek saw this and smiled.

"Whatever you do, just let me take control and don't open your wings in till I tell you to."

She only nodded with her eyes still closed.

He sighed and without a second thought, he wrapped his wings around hers and they both fell.

Aurora held on tightly and frightened as Derek held her wings closed. She desperately wanted to open them but Derek didn't let her. Derek angled their bodies so that they were now falling head first. Derek was looking down, holding his mate as tightly as possible.

As they were a few hundred feet before hitting the surface, Derek launched a dark energy ball from his maw and onto the center of the giant crater. There was a smaller crater in the middle, which when the blast hit, it suddenly opened like two sliding doors.

Derek guided them into the tunnel and made it in just perfectly. The tunnel doors closed and it soon turned to darkness. Although it was dark, Aurora knew they were still falling incredibly fast.

Derek could feel her fear through her rapid heart beat. He smiled a bit as small light then began passing by. He knew he was near the first turn. He couldn't open his wings yet for it was still to narrow. A sudden red light passed them, signaling the turn was next. He quickly opened his wings; also Aurora's and he made a right turn.

The turn allowed any Shadeian to open them without hitting anything. If anything, this turn was big enough for a few semi-trucks to fit in.

As Derek made the turn, soon light was starting to make its way into the long tunnel and Derek kept them hovering in the tunnel long enough. With that speed, he didn't need to flap and quickly, he quickly approached the light that was at the end of the tunnel.

Derek flew out of the tunnel and entered a giant cave that was almost dome shaped. Nearly all of the national landmarks could fit in including the Great Wall and the Golden gate bridge. A large crystal at the top of the dome which held an eternal burning light lit the entire large dome.

Derek sighed with a smile.

"Good to be back home." He said to himself.

There were Shadeians walking below or flying above in rock made streets. Thousands of homes and building likes were in the dome. Derek quickly flew towards the left side where he knew where his family lived. None of the Shadeians noticed him or Aurora so he quickly flew. There caves within the dome that cave the Shadeians a home. Each cave was set away from each other cave by a good length.

Derek's family's cave was the one at the far end where a black and blue stripped flag was hanged on the wall. A lot of caves had flags hanging to show who lived here. However if the flag had a bit of red on it, it meant that some Shadeian has died. Not by normal means but by those who hate them.

As Derek got closer, he saw that his family's flag had a red spot. What! He couldn't believe it. Someone in his family has died? He prayed that it wasn't his sister!

He quickly flew and saw that his cave was lit. He slowed down a bit before quickly turning his body up and softly landed on the cave entrance.

He slowly lowered Aurora on to the cave and letting her go. Aurora felt the hard solid floor beneath her and she slowly opened her eyes. She saw Derek smiling down at her.

"Where here." He said softly to her.

Aurora looked at him and slowly turned her head and looked around to see that they where inside of lit cave. She looked around and hadn't realized that she was still holding Derek. Derek slowly let her go and she stumbled a bit before regaining her footing. The cave was seemingly long for it turned a corner.

"Wow." Was all she could manage to say.

Derek smiled.

"Yeah, welcome to my family's home."

"Hello?" said a feminine voice.

They both looked as a large Shadeian Dragoness who looked beautiful yet exotic. She was wearing a black silk dress that was shear, showing every part of her beautiful body. Only her breasts and her private area were covered. Her eyes were dark red and her horns were curved at the tips like all females. Here wings where pitch black but her wing skin and membrane where almost light gray, almost transparent.

The dragoness looked at Derek and he looked at her.

The dragoness gasped, not even noticing Aurora and quickly ran to Derek. Derek just opened his eyes and hugged her.

"OH my dear son!" she said with tears running down her eyes. "I have missed you so much."

Derek just hugged her back and let lose a few tears himself. "I missed you too mother."

They both stayed hugging each other with Aurora looking at the side, smiling a bit at the happy couple.

Derek and his mother separated and looked at each other.

"My beautiful son, how much you have changed."

Derek nodded and looked her. However, everything changed when his mother's gaze turned to Aurora.

Several emotions went to her quickly.

First she was confused when she saw a white dragoness there, then she went wide eyed and surprised then she got angry. Derek saw this and quickly held his mother in his arms.

"Mother I know what you are going to say or do but you have got to stop and listen to me."

Aurora had lost her smile as she saw Derek's mother getting ready to attack her. It seemed as though Derek was the only one holding her back.

"Mother please, don't do this! She is not an enemy!"

His mother was growling but was surprisingly under control.

"What is she doing here?" she said in a dark growl. "What is a White dragon doing here?"

Derek did his best to keep it quiet.

"Mother stop! Aurora here isn't a spy or an enemy. Please mother, I don't want to hold you back."

His mother stopped any motions but stayed angry. She then turned to her son.

Derek just sighed heavily.

"Mother... this is Aurora. She is... my mate."

His mother just went eyed wide and before she could do anything, he quickly pulled her into a hug and held her head to his, preventing her from roaring out.

She struggled hard against him, but Derek just held her with all of his strength.

Aurora could see this and was becoming fearful. She could actually see Derek struggle to hold his mother from attacking her or roaring out.

Derek just held his mother tightly; no even her growls or protests made him let her go.

He just softly talked to her.

"Mother," he said softy to her. "Please, just calm down and listen to me." He then began his lullaby.

Don't be angry little one,

You're too young to lose your fun.

When you grow up, you shall see,

You will find your legacy.

Don't be angry little one,

Wings and claws shall be your fun.

Day and night you'll learn to fly,

When you grow and reach your sky.

Derek's mother calmed down quickly and her eyes were lowered and filled with tears. Not by sadness but by joy.

"You found your own lullaby?" she asked with a smile.

Derek nodded.

"You always told me that I would have to find my own lullaby and I have."

Derek remembered that the weeks he would visit his family when he was younger, his mother sang to him when he would go back home the next day. She would sing him her own lullaby and before he would go to bed, she would tell him that he must find his own lullaby to give to his hatchlings.

His mother hugged him with tears.

"I am glad that you found one. DO you still remember mine?" she asked.

He nodded and they both sung it softly.

Hush little hatchling, don't be scarred,

Mother dragoness shall be your care.

Won't you open your eyes and see,

I will love you eternally.

Hush little hatchling, don't be afraid,

Mother dragoness will be your aid.

And if you won't stop your cry,

She will sing you a lullaby.

They both smiled and hugged at each other for a few moments before his mother turned to Aurora.

"I'm... sorry on how I acted to you." She said, sternly but with calmness.

Aurora just nodded.

"I'm sorry for creating any trouble with you."

Derek's mother nodded before blinking and looking Aurora over. Derek let his mother go and she inspected her like if she was some strange artifact in a museum.

Aurora went a bit stiff and tried not to move. Derek's mother looked at her down and up and slowly sniffed around her before she slowly stood away.

"You seem... very familiar. Not you, but your scent and parts of your looks." She said with a small tone a voice.

Derek looked at his mother confusingly.

"Mother, how can she be familiar if you never met her? You haven't met any other white dragons since... well before the misfortune."

His mother thought for a moment and continued to look at Aurora who was now feeling uneasy about this talk of 'familiarity'.

Derek's mother went on for a bit before a sudden realization hit her. The scent and the past were almost so far apart from each other but the smell and partial looks made her realize it.

"Your family is the one that came over and attack us and caused all of us to go into hiding!"

Oh man! Longest story of this sereis!
