Static finished all the work he had slated for the day. The glossy purple and black ferret exhaled and checked his email again... nothing new coming in and everything else was waiting on someone else. He stood away from his home office and stretched the small, rubbery wings that protruded from his back, around where his shoulder blades should be.

As a latex based life-form-

The phone rang.

Static perked, blessing his luck that the phone call interrupted what would have been entirely unnecessary world building. The ferret made his way to where the wireless phone was docked. Having it away from his work station meant he got out of his chair a bit more often, at the very least. Grasping the receiver and looking at the small display, the caller ID was of a client who he'd recently finished a project for.

The glossy dook folded his wings to his side with a squirk as he pressed the call button and brought the handset to his ear. "Hello?"

"Hey hun!" The perky voice of his client came through loud and clear. "I was having a lair-warming Halloween party and I totally forgot that you should come and see how me and the boys have furnished the place!"

"Oh! Is it a costume party, Claire?" Static pursed his lips pensively. On one paw, he literally had nothing to do for the rest of the day. On the other, parties... Well, Claire and her boys were good company. He never felt out of place when having planning meetings for the project.

"Oh, definitely. Wear, like, whatever you want! Even shorts and a beer tee and say you're like a college student or whatevs." Her voice was as perky and informal as always.

The ferret looked over at the framed family pictures on his wall. Most were of his sister, or himself and his sister posed together. Perhaps he got along with Claire because she was like a less pushy version of Mayhem. The red and black ferret was grinning brightly in each photo.

Static was purple apart from his 'socks', the tip of his tail, his wings and his mask, which spread up his brow between his ears, unlike the typical ferret eye-markings. Mayhem didn't have wings and had the more standard mask pattern, and was always seen wearing the headset she used for her job in the Ferretcorp call center, even when off duty... because of course she never was fully off... the number of times she turned conversations into sales pitches...

"So, you're totally coming, right?" Claire interrupted the ferret's tangential thought-spiral.

"Oh, yes, of course!" Static smiled brightly, turning to face down the hall towards his front door.

His client and future party host let out a happy squeal. "Rad! I'll see you here around six, okay?"

"Six, alright." The ferret checked the clock. It was almost five, but he could get there easily in time.

"Bye-bye!" The connection cut to dial tone.

Static set the phone down, smiling, then froze. He didn't have a costume. He looked down at the phone, then at the photos up on the wall. He could try to call in a favor with his sister...

He shook his head. She'd just try to sell him some kind of costume with strings attached. Ferretcorp products were always more trouble than they were worth, in Static's experience. The ferret pondered... there was a costume shop in the mall, right on the way to that former job site. It was always there for the Halloween season.

Nodding firmly, Static walked to where he kept his house keys and then continued to the door. He slipped out of his house and locked up, before continuing to the bus stop.

After an uneventful journey on public transit, Static walked into the mall. The store he was going to was at the opposite end from where the job site had been, but that just meant that it wasn't a kobold behind the counter at the front. The winged ferret looked around as he entered the store, looking over the array of rubber and plastic masks, nylon outfits wrapped in clear vinyl bags... There must have been hundreds of costumes. Even if he pared down to just what would fit on him...

The rubber dook was soon pacing, fingers squirking against one another as he tried to figure out just what to do. Too many options, he was starting to get overwhelmed.

"Undecided on a costume, huh?" A feminine squeaky voice rung out behind Static, accented strangely to the ferret's ears.

He pivoted around to find no one directly in front of him... but there was something glossy and pink poking into his vision around where his muzzle created a blind spot. Static tilted his head down, revealing the pink glossy thing was a semi-sculpted tuft at the end of a long thick tail, with a pink band just a bit down from the tip. Another similar pink tuft appeared, along with two large black and pink ears, obscuring the tail, then the big pink eyes and grin of a rodentine face. The ferret jolted a bit in place at just how close she was standing to him.

"Hiya." The shiny black yinglet grinned around her shelltooth, lifting a paw to wave. The only thing she was wearing was a collar that matched her coloration. The padding directly against her throat peeking out the top and bottom was pink while the band itself was black. Similar to her tail, her arms and legs both also were marked with pink bands. Her claws were all pink, as well, a true tribute to the look.

"Uh... Do you work here?" Static tried to regain his composure.

"No," She replied, pressing up onto her toes and craning her neck up towards him. "But I have an idea zhat will leave you unrecognizable. Identity sovery hidden."

The ferret furrowed his brow. "Uh, what do you mean by that?"

"You would look great in a yinglet suit!" She grinned and held forward the hand she'd waved with, making him lean back in surprise. "I'm Senka! So sovery nice to meet wingytoob."

"Static." He corrected by way of introduction. "Are you wearing a yinglet suit?"

Senka gestured to herself, taking a step back and doing a little pirouette to show off. "You are looking at yinglet suit right now!"

The winged ferret chuckled a bit. "Well, you do look pretty cute like that..."

"You can be sopretty cute, too!" The yinglet declared. "You can try on suit right now!"

Static tilted his head, then looked around, confused. "Another one or the one you're wearing?"

Senka grinned and tucked her fingers up under her collar, grabbing onto something. As she pulled down, a zipper pull came into view and the zipper it was attached to slowly parted. What little the ferret got a glimpse inside of the dark suit was pink, but he couldn't quite make out the form inside. The reason for this became apparent once the Yinglet got the zipper all the way down to her pelvis. She brought both hands to dig into either sides of the zippered opening and pulled outward revealing... a hollow inside of a suit. She was lined with the same pink that accented her outsides everywhere within that he looked.

Blushing deeply, the rubber ferret fidgeted in place, eyes trailing along the glossy, soft... frankly inviting inside of the living suit. "Oh..."

She swayed and rolled her shoulders a bit, changing up just what parts of her inner lining were visible to Static. Senka angled herself enough to let the ferret see the holes leading into her very skinny arms and the lining going into her thighs and tail. "Still interested, cute wingytoob?"

Static was snapped out of his staring and blushed a bit deeper. He fidgeted in place, fingers on one paw squirking against the palm of the other. "Uh... how much are you charging?"

"Oh, I'll get plenty just from you wearing me~" She winked, even as she dipped her right hand into her own inside to give the inner lining a stroke. She visibly trembled a little at the sensation she gave herself, standing a little bit straighter afterward.

Stammering, the winged dook felt like his whole face was the color of her lining. Static struggled to form coherent words beyond repeated starts and stops of ideas in bursts of one or two phonemes.

"Is zhat a no, cutiedook?" Senka waggled her brows, making her long whiskers wobble.

Eventually Static composed himself, swallowing. "Is it okay if I try you on in a dressing room...?"

She let go of the opening in her torso and grinned, turning about. "Follow me, sovery cute toob."

"Static..." He murmured bashfully, following obediently. From the back, he could get more of an appreciation for how Yinglet anatomy worked. Her torso and tail were almost one continuous tube themselves, with the four limbs attached to the sides. While the upper arms and thighs were proportional to those of other species, from the joint to each paw was long and thin, a testament to how they naturally were saltwater marsh dwellers whose diets revolved around mollusks.

As they got into the dressing room, Static began to peel of his glossy clothes. The comfortable shirt and shorts, which he wore to look semi-professional in video calls at home, were also latex, so as not to distract him with the texture of fabric.

"Now, let me handle zhis." Senka stepped around the ferret and took ahold of his thick tail. It was thicker than hers, but not proportionately compared to his body like hers was. She took the glossy limb and guided it into her open zipper, down into the opening of her interior that led down her own tail.

"H-how much will I be stretching you to fit?" Static asked bashfully, as he carefully lifted one foot up and back towards her.

The yinglet paws grasped the offered hind leg and eased it through the zipper as well, pressing it down with enough force to slightly unbalance the ferret. "See for yourself~"

He held his arms out, wings spreading as his weight shifting naturally caused him to try to put his foot down. He felt his paw slip into a snug passage, the smooth, soft walls smoothly sliding against his own surface. Static looked down at where his mind told him his toes were, expecting to see that he'd crumpled up her leg some getting his foot down, that it would be stretching out the skinny limb.

Senka's leg looked the same as it ever did, and Static's leg could be nowhere but inside it. "Give me other foot, and watch zhis time." She giggled.

Obediently, Static raised his foot up like he was getting into trousers, except that they were trousers that had hands that could help him line his foot up with their leg. He leaned forward to look down. As he felt that similar snug sensation sliding along his foot and up his calf, he saw a faint sign of the shape of his toes distending the skinny limb, smoothing back to her normal proportions in the wake of that initial stretch. Once he got his foot on the ground, he wiggled his toes, and Senka's did exactly what he'd thought he had.

The living suit reached out and pressed Static's wings down against his back, using one spread paw to hold both wings' tips close together near the small of his back. The other took his hand on the same side, pulling it back and into her open chest. "Arms..."

The ferret realized abruptly that he was shorter now, the spatial compression meaning that his longer legs fit into hers as well. Static reached his other hand back and in. At the same time as the other, his fingers found the snug entry to the living suit's arms.

Senka's paws both pressed on Static's chest, pressing his shoulders in as his arms slotted into her own, somehow making the curve at her elbow caused by her own shoving.

Looking down, Static saw his fingers bulging both skinny arms much the way his toes had, before they slotted into place in her paws. By this point, the back of his neck was pressed up against the underside of her collar and he could feel the teeth of the zipper on either side of his neck.

Still in control of her hands, the Yinglet dug her thumbs into her collar from the underside, stretching it out.

Static was so distracted by the feeling of her limbs operating without his input that he didn't realize just what she was doing. He perked as the pink inner liner of her collar encroached on his vision. There was some lime green text in amongst the pink but it was too close and far too deep in shadows for him to make it out in the short moment it was in his range of vision. He presumed it was some kind of maker's mark.

Before he could think much more on it, his snout slipped up under the collar and he felt his head being drawn up through the living suit's throat. His ears were gently squeezed as they fit into the bases of her much larger ones, and his vision was restored, if a bit pinker than he was used to.

As soon as Static was fully situated inside her, Senka let go of her collar, letting it settle back into place, and then relinquished control of her whole body to him.

The ferret's purple torso just barely peeked through the open zipper. Static was surprised how easily he managed to grasp onto the zipper pull without familiarity with the shape of his limbs and fingers. He pulled the zipper shut, hearing a soft, happy sigh sound out all around him.

After he had tucked the pull back under their now shared collar, Senka took control of their mouth. "So... are you going to wear me out of ze shop?"

Static turned towards the mirror in the dressing room. He could see no sign of himself in his reflection, at all. He bounced a bit on the far smaller paws, feeling how springy the long legs were. His bashful smile showed on her lips as he nodded.

"Good! Happy customer." Senka spoke through their mouth and then took momentary control of their tail. Her glossy pink tail tuft ducked into Static's discarded pants pocket, retrieving his keys.

The disguised ferret perked. "Oh, I would have totally forgotten!"

"Zhat's why I did it." She replied, and the keys sank smoothly into the pink material there, stowed safely.

Static turned and walked out of the dressing room. The first thing that struck him was just how much shorter he was wearing Senka. Everything was towering over him, it seemed. He looked around as he tap-tap-tapped along the linoleum flooring of the costume shop.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

The disguised ferret was still marveling just how tall everything in the mall was when he reached the divide. Retractable barriers like those used to demarcate the lines in front of a movie theatre were set up right before everything changed, architecturally. Static knew about that very well. At the part in the barrier was a small pedestal desk, manned by a metallic-colored kobold.

"Wait, wait. You on the list?" The diminutive draconid peered at his tablet, then at the yinglet.

"It's me, Static." Static's voice was most certainly recognizable, even if his body was obscured.

"Oh! Good costume, dook." The kobold waved him in.

Tap-tapping along, he nodded in deference and then looked around. What had once been an atrium that matched the original design of the mall was now a glistening recreation of a deep cylindrical cave opening leading up to the unaltered glass dome ceiling. The 'rock faces' were metallic and had flecks of other metallic paints in the surface to make them glitter in the light. At the center of the space was a very large pseudo-natural feature, the perfect lounge for his client.

Claire was indeed lounging over it, the enormous quicksilver dragon smiling brightly. "Static! Dude, that's totally the best costume! Nobody recognized you at all!" She craned her neck down nearly to floor level to be eye-to-eye with him.

"Oh! Tank... tan..." Static paused, brow furrowed as he tried to say 'thank you', but the big shell-tooth got in the way of his tongue getting into the right positon.

After a few more moments of repeated failures, Senka took over their mouth. "Zhank you, it's sovery special."

The dragoness giggled. "So you are! Rad, two more guests for the space of one!"

"Zhank you." Static said, trying out the replacement for himself. He smiled, no trouble at all making those sounds.

"You're mega cute like this, not that you're not always cute." Claire winked with a smile.

The disguised ferret found his smile broadening, even as he blushed against the inner surface of Senka's face. He was distracted as a particular scent met his nose. He sniffed the air and turned his head a bit.

"Oh," The quicksilver dragoness rolled her eyes. "Sorry, like, where are my manners? The catering table's over there by the aquamarine waterfall. Totally rad~"

Static spotted it shortly after that direction. Indeed, between the yinglet and the liquid gem 'water' feature he'd helped design was a group of kobolds standing up on boxes, each wearing a little shiny white vinyl chef's coat. And in front of them was a long table with a myriad of food items on it, most likely the origin of the scent that had distracted him.

He turned back to face her, holding up a paw. "Zhanks again, Claire! Sovery hungry all zhe sudden." He pivoted back and started on that way.

"Enjoy the party!" She called after him while she raised her head back to be mostly above her own shoulders again.

Static tap-tapped along, idly thinking that he did a good job with this remodel. He was now about kobold height, and it was awe-inspiring to be in that perspective! So many so very shiny things all around, glistening and glittering... His focus snapped back to finding the source of that scent as he approached, sniffing the air. His eyes landed on a multi-tier shellfish tray at the end of the buffet.

Gasping with excitement, he walked a bit faster, upping the tempo of his footstep's percussive sound. "Clams..." Static said softly, staring at the bivalves on the bottom platform of the display. He grabbed one and immediately dug his shelltooth into the crack between the two halves of the shell.

One of the kobold caterers perked. "Uh, we're supposed to cook those..." He trailed off as the yinglet got the shell open.

Static dug his fingers in, easily severing the connections to the shell with his pink claws and pulling the clam free. He opened his mouth and placed it on his pink tongue. A rush of bliss surged from somewhere in the back of his mind at the flavor. He hardly had the chance to savor it as his instant reaction was to swallow. The sensation of the slimy mollusk bulging out under his collar before dropping the rest of the way down was enough to send trembling ripples of joy tingling all over his body. "Oooooh... Zhat's ze stuff..."

Wiggling his little grabby fingers, he reached out for another clam, setting the empty shell down on a plastic plate. Crack, his shelltooth opened that one as well. Slurp, gulp, quiver, sigh... Static reached for another clam.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Stumbling up to the door of his house, Static patted at the door drowsily. He'd had far too many clams. While each and every one was perfect, his system was wobbly after so much pleasure trembling through his short form.

Senka took control of their tail again. Static's house keys poked out of the tail tuft as she brought it around to the door. With ease she turned the key and unlocked the door.

Using their paws, he tugged the knob around and pushed the door open. He tap-tapped into the entryway unsteadily. "Ooogh..." He groaned a bit, rubbing the side of his head.

"What's wrong?" The living suit asked, using their mouth.

"I don't know how you convinced me to wear you..." Static pressed the door shut with their tail.

Senka lightly squeezed her lining all over his form. "I zhought you had a good time!"

"Everyone recognized me immediately." He dug his fingers up under the pink and black collar to find the zipper pull, starting to undo it. "We look too similar; you know zhat, Senka..." As the zipper parted, the body revealed between the teeth was glossy black. He pushed at the suit's lower jaw, squirming his head against the slick pink lining within.

With a lurch, Static pulled his head free. He groaned, opening his purple eyes. The inside of his large ears were purple where the other yinglet's were pink, and his shelltooth was just as formed as her own.

Senka smirked, looking over the back of the male's head. "Well, my tail has a tuft on it and I have a mane, because you're a boy."

Pulling more of his body free, the black and purple yinglet stuck his similarly colored tongue out with a tired 'mleh' sound. "Besides zhat, it's just our accent color zhat's different."

As he got his torso free, the female yinglet looked over the purple wing-design embossed into Static's back. "You have the so very neat wing-markings, too."

Shrugging his arms free, Static flexed his grabby fingers, shaking out his long skinny arms. Around his throat and upper arms there were purple bands that matched Senka's markings. "Eh, most critters don't even notice zhem."

Senka stuck her tongue out playfully, wrapping her paws around his waist and pulling on his tubular body. "I don't have zhem at all, Static!" She grunted as his legs pulled free of her own.

His leg markings came into view, then his long, thick tail, continuing the smooth curve of his tubular torso. Static carefully got his foot paws under him, pulling his tail free to reveal it indeed didn't have a tuft of material, unlike Senka, though it did have a band of purple towards the tip. The male yinglet quivered, jittery energy overtaking the exasperation he'd had before I climbed free of the other ying. He compulsively touched the band on his throat, looking around nervously.

"What's wrong?" The living suit zipped herself up as she looked over the other.

"Where's my collar?" Static sounded distressed. "Did I leave it at ze mall?"

Senka pulled a collar out of her mane, black with purple padding. It was a match for her own, only it was in his colors.

Snatching it up, the bare yinglet looked it over. As he expected, in the purple padding, at the center of the front, lie the lime green text printed into the material: 'Property of Zeeeah.' Static wrapped the collar around his throat, pressing those words directly against his throat. He did up the buckle at the back of his neck with practiced ease and let out a sigh.

Noticing the twitchiness fade, the female yinglet eased her arm around his shoulders. "Zhere you go. All back to normal. You look beat, zhough."

Static nodded and yawned, revealing his glistening purple tongue. "Yeah... I wanna head to bed, but you can stay up, watch whatever..." The male itched under his collar, giving his zipper pull a light tug to make sure it wasn't stuck, before pushing it back up into place. He pulled himself from her embrace. "If Matriarch Zeeeah calls, I'm asleep..."

Senka let him go, looking around the entryway. On the walls near the side table that the wireless phone was charging were framed images of herself and Static, both yinglets smiling happily for the camera. A few were of only him, or only her. But most of them showed the pair together. Her smile turned smug as she looked off at the male tapping his way up the stairs towards the bedroom. "Goodnight, Brozher~"

The purple and black yinglet waved a paw back at her. "Goodnight..." He stifled a yawn as he headed to bed, with not a thought in his mind as to how this could be odd. He'd known Senka his whole life, she was the older sibling!

Heading into the den to watch TV as her new brother had suggested, Senka sat down on the glossy couch and picked up a remote. She happily mused to herself as the smart TV booted up. "No more nagging about Ferretcorp, little brozher. Sovery mine now~"
