The sound of rain that hit against the window as the otter sat there within the blue leather bench, the webbed hands held the warm cup as he looked down that the steam that rose upwards.

Propped up against the various plastic containers, red, brown, and yellow colour, the paper as the otter slowly read the article with the occasional rise of the cup as the hot brown liquid was sipped.

There were others in the other tables, quietly eating their cooked breakfasts, the sounds of the metal cutlery hitting the plates with small noisy taps to scrapes. All of whom was being watched by two large yellow eyes from the overweight tiger that was busy flipping another pancake into the air with one paw that held the pan and the other was busy poking at the sizzling sausages and bacon that were busy hissing, squealing on the hot plate as bits of juice spat out.

The dull sound from outside came louder as the door opened, a rush of cold air came in and then stopped as the sound of the door shut again. The sound of someone moving into the booth opposite the otter as the raccoon sat there and coughed. "Morning Tam, how's the news from the great tabloid of depression?"

Tam smiled when he heard the voice and he looked up at the smiling raccoon who rolled his shoulders so that his coat slipped off and fell onto the seat behind him. "Oh, hey Sam, the same as usual. Why not look." Tam grabbed the paper with one paw and held it out as the raccoon took it, read a bit, and then scowled before he tossed it onto the unseated part of the seat. "She's a fucking idiot."

Tam only nodded but he smiled. "So, what you got going on today?" The otter asked as he looked at Sam, then took a sip of his coffee. The raccoon replied. "Not got work until afternoon, did want to sleep in today but body is too used to getting up this early." Sam reached for the menu as he spoke and looked at it. "Had breakfast yet?" The otter shook his head at his friend. "No, not yet. But I was going to if you didn't turn up about five minutes from now." Sam leaned back in the cubicle bench seat he was in, the cup held in his paw. "I can order for you while you give your paws a wash?"

Sam looked up and blinked. "Wash... Oh yeah, um can I have some pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs and lots of syrup?" The raccoon looked at the otter while was grinning back. "What?"

Tam just laughed. "So, like any other morning then?" The male otter waved his webbed hand to shoo the raccoon away. "Go, I'll get the order in." The raccoon shifted about the seat and then walked off as Tam looked over to where the tiger had just placed a plate down to another customer before he came over and stood there with his notepad and pencil. "So ready to order now or you continuing to make me worry on the amount of coffee you're taking?"

Tam smirked. "I'm not shaking yet, so no worries of me exploding Paul, but yes we're ready to order. You know what we want, the usual for our striped tail friend and as for me. I hope you have pineapple in this time around?"

"You're weird." Paul said.

"Bite me." Tam replied.

"I would but you seem to like that, so not much of a punishment is it?" Paul said as the tiger scribbled down on the piece of paper. "I take it it's another pot of hot coffee as well for the both of you?"

Tam smiled back. "If you could please as I've got this feeling, I'll need it regardless today." The tiger looked at the otter. "Didn't sleep much last night? Who kept you up?" Tam looked at Paul as he leant back in the seat. "No one this time around, but only myself and an interesting show on the streaming service. 'Woof Four'"

Paul walked away as he spoke. "Oh that, yeah heard about that show, wasn't it about that Doberman that had that affair last year?" Tam nodded as he saw the large tiger slip back around the counter. "Yeah, seems he's only able to get onto streaming these days than actual in the cinema stuff."

The sound of cooking could be heard as Paul shook his head while he began to beat some batter for the pancakes. "Should've kept his cock in his pants, what's with canines always wanting to get their knots out?"

Sam came out at that exact moment as he looked at Paul with a grin. "Oh, I don't know, all those big knots need to find places to go into after all." The raccoon looked as he saw two others from the room get up and leave the cafe as he placed his hand paws against his hips. "Was it something I said?"

Paul shrugged; the large tiger poured some of the batter into the pancake pan. "They're not regulars, so don't worry about it. Out of towners I think, upgrading the telecommunications link so we get actual decent speed here."

Tam looked a bit perkier than usual. "You mean, no more wars on who steals the bandwidth for the evening?" The otter rolled his shoulders. "I'm going to miss those hang out over the balcony yelling at the neighbours."

Sam slipped into the table as he laughed. "Yeah but giving that old badger a heart attack by wiggling your bottom wasn't the greatest strategy from that battle was it?"

"Hang on, I haven't heard this one?" Paul said as he flipped a pancake into the air and caught it. "You put a grey muzzle into hospital?" The tiger looked at the otter who sighed in his seat. "Yeah, it got out of hand, didn't think the old git would collapse in seeing a tight naked otter butt just wiggling out from the railing of my balcony."

Paul covered his face with his large hand paw. "You didn't kill him, did you?" The otter shook his head as Sam was laughing on the other side of the table, of whom the otter gave a deathly 'I will kill you' look. "No, the old bastard collapsed as his heart couldn't cope with the sudden erection he had in his pants."

The sound of both now laughing loudly made Tam groan, the otter shook his head as he folded his arms about his chest. Sam looked at the otter with a wide grin. "But that wasn't all, was it?"

"No, it wasn't." Tam said as he looked at the raccoon who turned his head around to where Paul was and continued. "The badger not only survived but after he returned back, turned up to his place." The raccoon pointed at the otter who shook his head slowly. "I was there at the time, the old guy was there at the door of the apartment in just his slippers, PJ bottoms and a dressing gown, nothing else and he went. 'Is that otter home'?"

Tam picked up a container of salt and inspected it as the tiger continued to listen to the raccoon speaking. "So, I said 'Yeah, he is inside. I'll go get him' Which I did and that's when the badger took Tam's hand, shook it and then right there planted a full-on kiss to his muzzle. To say the otter was in shock from the deep kiss, then the old badger was all like. 'I'm better now, so if you want to come over sometime, please do.' And handed him a card. Then he left."

Paul came back around with two plates of food and placed them down in front of the otter and raccoon before he looked at Tam. "So, did you take up the old guy's offer?"

When Tam did not respond the tiger nudged the otter who turned to look at the large chubby tiger and replied. "Yeah, I did. I mean, I did put him in hospital so it was the least I could do." Tam looked away again and muttered. "Turns out he knew a lot more things than I did under the covers."

Paul patted the head of the otter as he nodded his head. "The old ones always do." The tiger walked off to bring over another pot of coffee and then he left the two to their breakfast as a new customer came into the cafe.

Sam looked at the otter. "Hey, you are okay, right? I was only having fun?" The raccoon reached over and brushed his fingers over the top of the other hand. Tam looked at the raccoon as he sighed. "Yeah, just tired this morning that's all."

Sam smirked. "You were at his apartment again last night, weren't you?" The otter frowned but nodded his head as the raccoon ate some of his pancakes. "Eat up, you need your strength for rest of the day." The otter smiled and began to eat as he looked at the raccoon. "May have something new to show you next time we're together?" Sam grinned as he swallowed his mouthful. "Ooh, new trick in bed eh? I'm up for that, seems to help you improve in that deparme-Ow!"

Tam glared at the raccoon. "I'm perfectly fine in bed, thank you very much." The raccoon reached down to rub at his shin as he muttered. "Oh, sorry for thinking otherwise my lord."

Tam grinned. "Anytime, trash panda." Sam threw back his own insult. "Not a problem, fish breath." "I cleaned my teeth this morning." "Oh really, with what? Salmon paste?"

As the two threw friendly fire at each other, Paul grinned to himself as he flipped over another pancake. He loved this job, especially when it came to cute customers that came in, then Paul looked to the other customer and slowly he placed the pancakes. The tiger looked down at the black panther and with a toothy grin. "Here's your order, sweetie." The male panther looked up and smiled back at the tiger. "Thanks, what's your name?" The tiger grinned toothily when he replied. "Paul, pleasure to meet you." The large tiger slipped into the booth and both felines began to talk as the raccoon and otter were still throwing insults back and forth with smiles on their faces as they consumed the rest of their breakfast.
