A young lioness tries to balance her tumultuous school life, her community outreach and a distant boyfriend.

This is the second story in a series but I've tried to keep it self contained. So if you haven't read A Call to Arms, no worries. I wrote this with you in mind. I'd love to hear what you think either way!

Annabelle sat on the front steps of the school, waiting. The water buffalo-mix tapped mercilessly on her phone, she was on a mission. Tab after tab, link after link, she sought to unravel the school's newest mystery.

The digital world provided much more clarity than the one she occupied. She unravelled secrets and found all the answers to questions she never knew she had. Little did the poor bovine know, the internet had a voracious appetite for the gullible mind. Switching between preachers of truth and the ignorant minds she sought to enlighten, she spread secrets to all corners of the school.

Her phone beeped. A message had come in, something new but equally intriguing. A shadow fell over her and she peeled her eyes away from her phone. Looking down was a tall, female fossa. Annabelle opened her mouth, she just couldn't resist.

Provocateur

It was early morning, the school was quiet except for the distant shouts from the sports field. The air was cool, the seasons were changing. Sierra took a deep breath in, the cool temperature flooded her lungs, it calmed her nerves. She exhaled and reminded herself that everything was going to be okay. She checked her phone one last time, peering through the cracks on her screen - no new messages. She typed a quick text, it said, Missing you.

Sierra would have been at the gym had it not been for an impromptu student council meeting - they had a special agenda for the day. The tawny lioness was running late after a long commute didn't go as planned. She felt guilty for keeping the council waiting, it was unbecoming of the president to be late. She lived so far outside the city centre, but it was all she and her mother could afford.

She scaled the stairs with speed and grace, entered the building and headed up towards the student council office. The door was ajar, her VP must have let the rest of the council in. She could hear chattering from inside.

She opened the door and a group of girls were sitting around the table. They all greeted Sierra as the lioness took her spot at the head of the table. From left to right sat Eva, a fossa in senior year. She was a quirky thing but a loyal friend. Timit, the treasurer, a tufted ground squirrel that had a knack for numbers but not much else. Then Annabelle, the water buffalo hybrid and at the moment, the bane of Sierra's existence. And to Annabelle's left, an otter named Evelyn, the assistant secretary and Annabelle's closest friend who was often complicit in her buffoonery.

The student council was all female, for better or for worse. Some say that girls her age were more mature and therefore more capable of these responsibilities. In Sierra's opinion, the girls sitting around the table routinely tested that theory. Sadly, if a woman was willing a man would oblige. And here they were.

"So, what's with the extra meeting this week?" asked Eva, the only fossa in school. Her shrewd features gave the impression she was in a constant state of consideration.

Sierra sighed. "Mr. Thundurik has brought to my attention that there have been some incidents at school concerning species discrimination and he would like us to put some material together to combat it."

"Was that that thing with Zavvy?" Timit asked. "Can you believe it? I saw him walking down the hall naked with Mr. Thundurik and Mrs. Gable. And his muzzle was all bloody."

"You saw him naked?" The otter asked jealously. "Is he hot?"

"He's hot," the squirrel confirmed.

"Yeah, and someone wrote some racist stuff on his locker, too." Eva added.

"Who did that?" Evelyn asked.

Zavvy, otherwise known as Xavier Inosi, was a new student who quickly became Sierra's nemesis. He was an arrogant white lion, rich and a cocky asshole. And with recent discriminatory acts taken against him by her fellow students, Sierra had been charged with his defence.

"It was Lohren from the rugby team," Annabelle spoke up. "He's been suspended for three weeks!"

Sierra growled under her breath. It was Annabelle who'd propagated rumours which led to some of her brother's friends bullying the new student. They'd stolen his clothing from the locker rooms then wrote offensive material on his locker. He may have deserved it but the rival boys should never have done something so stupid. The worst part was Xavier blamed Sierra for everything. When she tried putting him in his place it backfired spectacularly. She should have known better.

"One stupid kid does one stupid thing and now we have to clean up the mess. But here we are.

"We need to make posters and organise a presentation for some of the students. Forget Xavier, if we don't take action, we'll be the ones getting in shit." Sierra realised all the girls were looking at her strangely. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

The councillors looked between themselves, it was Eva who spoke up, "Is it true you had sex with Zavvy in the washroom?"

Sierra looked like she'd been slapped in the face. "What?" She was horrified, "Where did you hear that?"

The girls looked at Annabelle. Sierra looked to Annabelle dreading what was about to come next.

Annabelle spoke up reluctantly, "I heard it from Ilhin. He said he saw Zavvy leaving the washroom and you weren't wearing any pants."

The council looked back to Sierra.

Sierra couldn't believe what was happening. Her sex life wasn't supposed to be on the agenda. "Who have you been telling this to?"

Shoulders shrugged and heads shook.

"A couple people...maybe," the bovine meekly uttered.

"Annabelle! You can't go around spreading rumours!" Sierra exclaimed.

"You were the one that said white lions were evil!" Annabelle defended herself.

"And they ate babies," added Evelyn.

"No! I didn't say that at all! I said white lions have a reclusive and secretive community, and own a disproportionate amount of wealth. I never said they were evil! And I absolutely never said they ate babies!" Sierra hated Xavier, but the thought of him eating children was beyond ridiculous.

Annabelle sorted through her thoughts, trying to remember what information came from where. "I must have read that online." The bovine wasn't the brightest, a trait that seemed to run in her family.

"You can't believe everything you read online," Sierra tried to explain. "And I didn't have sex with Xavier in the bathroom! I have a boyfriend and I would never cheat on him! You can hurt people by saying this stuff!

"It's our job to stop rumours, not spread them! The reason we're here is because these rumours have started causing problems around the school!" It was a bit ironic that the reason the council was meeting was to stop the fallout of rumours that started in that very room. "And please stop telling people I had sex with Xavier, it's not true! The last thing I want is for that to get back to Adonis. Is that clear?"

The four other girls nodded in understanding.

"So, what were you two doing in the bathroom together? Ilhin said you were against the wall with your pants around your ankles." the otter prodded.

Sierra slammed her fists onto the table, she abruptly stood up and shouted, "I forgot to lock the bathroom door and he walked in on me while I was peeing! That's it!"

The girls looked between each other.

She took a breath then sat back down. If only they could get their own boyfriends and stop living vicariously through her. "I'm sending out an email today on anti-discrimination, read it and do the tasks I've laid out for you! And maybe I'll send out another email on misinformation because it_also_ seems to be a problem. Does anyone have any questions?" There were none. "Then meeting adjourned!"

She glared at them as they gathered up their things and slowly departed, all except for Eva. The brown fossa watched Sierra curiously, not fully believing the lion's account. When the two were alone she spoke up, "Did he go down on you?"

Sierra couldn't believe this was still a topic of conversation, but when it came to sex there was nothing that satiated the fossa's curiosity. "No! Nothing happened in there." It was a lie she was telling herself as much as she was telling Eva.

"I think he's cute," Eva remarked.

Sierra began organising her own things. "Yeah, well, he's also an asshole. And since Marcus and his dumb friends decided to slander his locker and steal his clothes I now have to tell the entire school to leave him alone!"

"Does cat tongue even feel good...down there?" Eva inquired.

The question gave the lioness cause to crack a smile, "Depends how skilled they are, it can go either way." It reminded her of the handful of times Adonis had gone down on her, with varying success.

"What's the deal with you and Zavvy, anyway? Annabelle said you were weird with him."

"Annabelle is going to be the death of me," Sierra said. "Xavier is one of the richest kids on the planet. I don't know much about his mother but his dad owns the majority of meat production on the continent. It was his companies that left Verseres years ago and left thousands unemployed.

"Pretty well, everything you and I eat comes from his family, and that's just the beginning. Some of the Inosi companies have done questionable things that we should absolutely be talking about but right now everyone's talking about them eating babies!"

"Wow," Eva knew Zavvy was rich, but not to what extent.

"That doesn't explain what you have against Zavvy," Eva pointed out.

"I don't want to talk about him," Sierra said.

"Okay." Eva about-faced, "I'm going to yoga after school, want to come?"

The lioness appreciated the invitation, "sure, I did miss out on the gym this morning."

"Meet me out front after, then," Eva finished.

The two friends finished tidying up the office. The school hall was beginning to fill with students, the day was about to begin.

***

Eva and Sierra met up after school and together walked to the studio. Sierra never understood the appeal of yoga. Everyone said it was calming, but the lioness couldn't believe it was more calming than punching out your opponent in the ring. They made their way into the change room where mammals of all spots and stripes were getting changed. The girls started undressing.

Eva was thin and tall. A marked lack of body fat gave her a rather fragile looking disposition. Every detail of her hip bones was clearly outlined against her skin, she had a belly as flat as a well planed plank of wood, the grooves of her ribs waved up towards her small breasts. The fossa wondered if her height and lankiness were why boys at school didn't pay much attention to her. Not like Sierra, who whenever flaunted a bit of fur would get looks from all directions.

Eva was envious of the lioness. She watched as Sierra undressed, the she looked strong. She had the physique of a fighter, she trained like one. As the lioness took off her top, muscles rippled across her back. She had well defined abdominals and strong looking thighs, but managed to keep all the desirable curves of the feminine form.

Eva put on rather obnoxious yoga pants, neon colours that went in every which way. She didn't need one but wore a sports bra, anyway. Sierra wasn't a regular yoga attendee, she had her boxing gear with her, tight athletic shorts that left little to the imagination and a tight fitting sports bra that pulled her breasts in uncomfortably tight - the perfect garment for dodging fists.

"Girl, you're looking hot," Eva remarked.

"Thanks," Sierra replied. "Nice pants!"

Eva smiled, at least something about her was getting her attention.

The two girls exited the change room and to their surprise bumped into a seemingly out of place muskrat.

With a rolled up yoga mat under his arm, wearing a plain, sleeveless T-shirt and what looked like swim shorts stood Tody, a rather unpopular weirdo from their year. Sierra looked him over suspiciously. He had the reputation of a peeping tom and also hung out with Xavier, two strikes in her book.

"Oh, hi," the muskrat said awkwardly.

"Hi," Eva said curtly.

"Tody what are you doing here?" Sierra asked accusingly.

"Yoga?" The muskrat was certainly acting unusual.

Sierra knew him to wear his perversions on his sleeve and doubted his intentions. "Since when do you do yoga?"

"Since just now," he replied. He seemed almost as uncomfortable in the conversation as she did.

"Right..." Sierra was still suspicious. "If I see you with your phone in there I'm going to beat the shit out of you!"

"My phone's in my locker! I'm just here to do yoga!" Tody knew not to take her threat lightly!

The three entered the studio. Sierra found a spot as far away from the muskrat as she could find - she wanted to be as far away as that pervert as she could be. Eva stuck close.

When class finished, the girls changed quickly and exited the studio. It was late afternoon and the sun gave off a relaxed glow.

Eva turned to Sierra, "Is it just me or was Tody packing?"

The lioness cocked her head, "You think he was carrying a weapon?" Or worse, a camera.

Eva laughed, "No! What? No! Like..." Eva made the motion of grabbing balls between her legs, "packing!"

Sierra grimaced, "Eva! Ew! I wasn't looking." The goings on between Tody's legs was a rather repulsive thought. Eva clearly needed to get laid, it seemed her standards were dropping.

Eva laughed it off, "What are you up to, now? Want to get a drink? My treat!"

Eva knew that she sometimes had to offer to pay to get Sierra to come out. She didn't mind, her family was well enough off and the lioness did have it rough. Her father had killed himself years ago, leaving her with a disgruntled mother working for minimum wage who spent most of their excess cash on wine and cigarettes. Any money Sierra had came from her underpaid job at the woman's shelter. So if Eva wanted her to come out she would have to bribe her.

"I can't," Sierra responded. "I have to stop by the shelter, our fundraiser ends Thursday and it's not going well. If we can't get the money things won't look good next year."

Sierra was one of the assistant managers of the town's only woman's shelter, harbouring women from domestic violence, drug abuse and other problems from all over the Wetland Triad. A noble job, albeit a poorly paid one. But it was noble job and Eva respected Sierra for it. Though she was disadvantaged she always did the right thing by everyone else.

"How much more money do you guys need?" Eva asked.

"We're down by around sixty-five thousand dollars."

Eva raised her eyebrows, "Wow. That's a lot."

"Yeah, the shelter's been suffering and we really need the money. If you know anyone who would be willing to make a donation, every bit would help."

"I'll ask my parents, I'm sure they'd give something," Eva said. "Good luck, then. And I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah," Sierra said, she moved in for a hug. The lioness squeezed the fossa tightly. Eva held her until she initiated the release. Making eye contact Sierra said, "Thanks. I needed that."

"See you tomorrow," Eva said once more. The two parted ways.

Sierra started walking. She pulled out her phone to check any messages. There were none. She'd texted Adonis earlier that day and hadn't received a reply. It had been hard since he went off to university and though he was only in Ottersway, it still felt far. And to top things off, he hadn't been home since school started. He was there on a rugby scholarship and practised on weekends. Sierra had little means to get out there herself, her mother required the car for work and bus tickets weren't cheap these days.

She missed him. She missed being held, kissed, and loved. She was feeling lonely and desperately wanted to feel his fur against hers once more. Impulsively, she hit dial. The phone rang a couple of times, her heart jumped when she heard the familiar, "Hey, Kitten!"

"Adonis! I've been trying to reach you all week! I miss you!"

"Miss you too, babe! I've been busy with practice and school and all that, you know how it is."

"I know," she sounded sombre. "Will you be able to come back this weekend? I want to see you."

"I'm going to try. You know it's hard to get away."

Sierra was desperate to keep him talking, "How's the new team?"

"Yeah, good," he said. "Listen, I'm studying with some friends, I should really go. I'll call you later, okay?"

"I love you," Sierra said hopefully.

"Yeah, you too, Kitten." He disconnected.

Sierra sighed and put her phone away. She missed him She wanted to be held and comforted, to be kissed. She longed for the intimacy two people could share when they touched each other.

But now he was always busy with class or practice. She couldn't hold it against him. He had a scholarship and school was important. She wondered if she would get to see him at all when his team started playing games. And with everything going on at school she needed his love more than ever.

She also just wanted to fuck. She missed the weight of him on her, or the way his girth spread her open. She missed the way his muscles contracted when he climaxed. Xavier flashed through her mind. Suddenly she was back in the bathroom, the white lion pressing her against the wall, she could feel the swollen head of his cock threatening to penetrate her. Her anger flared.

Xavier may not have made it inside her body but he had made it inside her mind. She shook it off and kept moving.

The street was quieter than a few hours ago. Those who finished work and ran errands were slowly finding their way home. Sierra noticed the pharmacy coming up on her right. Impulse took hold of her and she went inside.

A fleet of halogen lights buzzed above, bombarding the world with their bright, unflattering light. She walked to one aisle in particular, the one that had a tab that said_Family Planning._ She walked past the condoms and the lubricant, items she apparently didn't need anymore.

She came here when she bought condoms for the first time. She remembered how nervous she was, she felt a bit like that now. She remembered when she started dating Adonis and how excited she was when they decided they a thing. She remembered the first time she put a condom on him, and the first time they made love.

Made love. She smirked, there must be a better way to make love - a way that makes it last longer.

Target acquired. She looked at the small square package. Hanging on the shelf was a vibrator. Not one of the fancy ones the sex shops sell, it was a small ring with a little nub, one just large enough for a single disc battery. At less than ten dollars it was an affordable substitute for a distant boyfriend. Life was hard right but some self love would help.

She made her way to the checkout. It had been embarrassing buying condoms for the first time, announcing to the world she was having sex. Over time, she realised it was nothing to embarrassed of and in fact, it showed responsibility. Now she was announcing she was lonely and frustrated.

She was grateful no one was there but the cashier to witness the beginning of her new lifestyle. She left the shop and continued on towards the shelter. Unlike other workplaces, hers never closed. Abuse didn't clock off at the end of the day. She worried its future.

***

Thursday morning came around, an ominous feeling loomed over Sierra. They managed to scrounge a few additional donations but were still short of their intended target. She wondered how they would cope. Would they request a rent reduction? Relieve some of the newer employees? Buy cheaper supplies? And what would happen to all the women who depended on them? These questions haunted her.

She stopped by her locker to swap her books.

"Rumour has it you and I fucked in the bathroom," an all too familiar voice came from beside her. There stood Xavier, looking smug, as usual. "Too bad it isn't true."

Sierra snarled, "You telling people it's true?"

"I am not!" Zavvy replied defensively. "I don't lie about who I fuck." He lowered his voice, "But if you wanted, we could meet later and make it true."

Sierra slammed her locker door, "Get the fuck away from me."

"Suit yourself! But the offer stands," Zavvy said. As Sierra stormed off he yelled after her, "See you later!"

Sierra marched towards the school auditorium, she had arranged for the school to lend the shelter space to celebrate the run. Though they hadn't met their objective, she hoped the event would garner a few eleventh hour donations. Nevertheless, so many people worked hard and they deserved to be recognised for their efforts so she needed to prepare.

The evening started off as expected, with the director, a well fed grizzly, congratulating those who worked to raise the money. She then thanked all the donors for their generosity, reminding them how much of a difference their donations made and without whom how none of this would be possible. The auditorium was only about a third full. A couple of journalists sat at the front.

Sierra stood in the wings, watching. She wore a cream coloured blouse that enriched the colour of her tawny fur, with black slacks she'd meticulously ironed. Her tail waved nervously from side to side. She jumped when two hands landed on her shoulder. A familiar wood-mouse bounced around her with a smile as wide as her face. It was Ainsley, one of the shelter's other assistant managers.

"Great work, Sierra!" She congratulated the lioness. "I thought we were going to come up short this year."

Sierra looked confused, "I thought we did come up short? What are you talking about?"

The mouse looked at the lioness like she was crazy, "I'm talking about how you convinced your friend to donate the rest of the money! That's incredible!"

Sierra was still confused. She'd managed to get Eva to squeeze a couple grand out of her parents, but nothing close to what they needed. That's when she saw him. Looming in the shadows like a ghostly apparition. Xavier stood in the wings on the other side of the stage, his white fur was hauntingly illuminated by the stage's spilled light. His eyes were locked on her and he held the most subtle of smiles. She felt every muscle in her body seize up and the hair at the back of her neck went on end.

In uncivilised times, predators would chase down and devour their prey in a bloody mess. But it was a different world, a world where prey would be eaten alive, wearing a smile.

Sierra tuned into what the grizzly was saying, "...and I'd like to call out one of our assistant managers onto the stage! Sierra, where are you?"

A smattering of applause waved through the auditorium, Sierra stood there stock-still until Ainsley gave her a nudge. Unprepared, she stumbled onto the stage. The stage lights were overwhelmingly bright, she felt dizzy.

"Sorry to take you off guard," the grizzly said into the microphone. The bear's face was full of light and excitement. "Sierra has been with us for a couple of years and her dedication to the shelter knows no bounds! Her enthusiasm for helping people is contagious and it's how we managed to make this year's budgetary goals!

"Sierra, because of your hard work, I wanted to have you here to introduce our newest major donor!"

The grizzly went on, "Representing his family tonight, please welcome Xavier Inosi!"

Xavier walked out on stage. He was dressed sharp, he wore a jet black suit with blue tones textured with subtle off-black stripes. As he walked into the light he looked into the auditorium with a great big smile on his face. He was a natural in front of the crowd.

The bear took a step back as the young lion stepped up to the podium. Sierra stood frozen beside him.

He took the microphone, "Please, a round of applause for those whose hard work has brought us all together!" The small crowd was suddenly much more enthusiastic. He went on, "And a special thanks to my dear friend, Sierra Intabi!"

Xavier put his arm around her waist and cozied up beside her. His charisma was captivating.

"Sierra! Smile, you idiot!" Ainsley yelled from the wings.

Sierra contorted her face into a smile-like shape.

"Sierra's commitment to her school, her community, and Verseres as a whole is truly inspiring. It was her enthusiasm and goodwill that convinced my family to donate to the Verseres' women's shelter. It's because of people like her that those in difficult circumstances can find the help and support they need to get through tough times."

Sierra could hear the click of cameras, she was bombarded with flashes and looks of adoration. She realised how picture perfect this was. A young lion and lioness, from different backgrounds, coming together to try and create a better future. How romantic.

Xavier finished up, "It's an honour to represent my family here today and an even greater one to stand amongst so many without whom Verseres wouldn't be same!"

As the audience broke out into their most enthusiastic applause of the evening, Xavier turned his head and planted a kiss on the side Sierra's face. Sierra tried to act natural but her muscles just wouldn't cooperate. Xavier waved to the crowd in his cocky, relaxed manner. They loved him.

It was humiliating the way he'd put her on display. Nothing Xavier had said was true, she'd never asked him for money. She wasn't even aware he knew there was a fundraiser. She had underestimated him once again. And now, he managed to hijack her hard work and make it all about him. All she could do was smile and pretend like everything was fine.

***

Xavier was the talk of the town. He'd gained the adulation of much of the student body - but not everyone. Some recognised how it was only because of his family's fortune that he could buy the praise he was being flowered with. But since the extent of the cat's wealth - and generosity - was more widely known, many students suddenly wanted to be his friend.

Sierra met up with Eva. They saw eye to eye on most things, but their opinions seemed to differ when it came to the school's newest philanthropist.

"It was really cool of the Inosi family to donate all that money," Eva pointed out.

"Eva, it was a publicity stunt! That money was a drop in the ocean for them! And I know Xavier did it just to get at me!"

"You think Zavvy donated fifty thousand dollars to a woman's shelter just to piss you off? Do you realise how crazy that sounds? You think way too highly of yourself," the sassy fossa replied. "Sure, it may have been a publicity stunt, but it was a publicity stunt that will help a lot of people."

"We shouldn't have to beg the wealthy so we can protect people from abuse!"

Eva discounted the remark, "Other than being rich, what has Zavvy ever done to you? You never even gave him a chance!"

Sierra bit her tongue, she could feel Xavier's cock pressed against her once again. Like a cockroach, the feeling of violation darted down her spine then scurried out of sight.

Eva wrapped her long, lanky arm around the lioness, "Let's go out tonight. I'll get the girls. We'll get real fucked up. I'll pick you up later and you can crash at my place."

Sierra nodded, that was something they could agree upon.

"I've got to get to class," said the fossa. "I'll see you later."

The lioness dragged her feet, she had biology. It was the only class where she was unable to avoid her nemesis. Xavier and her shared a handful of classes but she did well to avoid him. She disliked him from the start but since the white lion had cornered her in the bathroom and man handled her like she was his property, she had nothing but hate for him.

He had a way of getting under skin. Sometimes she could feel him undress her with his eyes, and he wasn't subtle about it, either. She wondered if he was actually interested in her sexually or if it was just a power trip. But the way he looked at her, it was predatory. It made her uncomfortable and they both knew it. He hid behind the rare colouring of his fur, if she said anything she'd be accused of racial discrimination, the very thing she was tasked with preventing.

At least she had Roland, the white-tailed deer cum mammalian shield. She kept him in between her and her enemy, he did a good enough job at keeping Xavier at bay. Though, she worried Xavier was taking advantage of him. Roland was a good student and a nice boy but the reclusive white-tail was socially awkward and incredibly insecure.

Sierra entered the lab to realise her worst nightmare, Xavier sat at the back, Roland was nowhere to be seen. It wasn't like him to miss class. The male lion saw her, a jeering grin opened up across his face. He could see exactly what she was thinking. Sierra swallowed and made her way to the back of the lab and took a seat, leaving a chair between the two. Maybe pretending Roland was there would make things better. It wouldn't.

"Hi, Sierra," Xavier said, his voice smooth just for her.

"Where's Roland?" she asked coldly, forcing last night's events from her mind.

"I don't know," he said. "I haven't seen him all week. Just you and me, today." He let it sink in. "You were wonderful, last night."

Sierra stared straight ahead.

"We made the paper, did you see? Page seven! I must admit, you and I look great together."

The scrawny ferret, Mr. Somlin, started class and explained the lab's exercise. He began passing out instructions and materials to the students. Sierra could feel Xavier's eyes on her, just watching. And waiting. She wanted to hit him, ungloved. But she was powerless. If she played her way, she'd lose. If she played his way, she'd lose as well.

But Xavier, it seemed, wanted to play. "You must be pretty popular at the shelter now, huh?" He said quietly. "What would they have done if you hadn't raised all that money?"

"You made a fool out of me!" Sierra could feel her anger rising.

"No," Xavier replied calmly. "You were already a fool. You just know it now."

Mr. Somlin paced through the room handing out vials of murky liquid. When the lions got their materials, Xavier took the instructions and poured the liquid into a dish and placed it under a microscope, leaving Sierra sitting there awkwardly with little to do. He pressed an eye against the eyepiece and began inspecting the sample.

Sierra watched him work. "You think you can just buy respect?" She asked cynically. She wondered how such an asshole could get such good grades. Maybe he bought them, too.

"It seems I can. I thought I'd buy some goodwill for my family, you know, considering all the rumours going around. It was an easy sell to my father. We have funds allocated for this very thing. And I was even nice enough to give you some of the credit. You're a hero, now!"

Sierra grit her teeth, "You're a fucking fraud."

"Careful," he warned. "You wouldn't want to upset the shelter's largest donor." He kept examining the liquid.

Sierra bit her tongue. He was right and it made her sick.

"I hear the student council is putting together an anti-discrimination workshop," Xavier rubbed more salt in her wounds. "I wanted you to know how much I appreciate you looking out for my well being. What the-" exclaimed the lion. "Well this is strange!"

"What?" Sierra demanded.

Xavier looked up wearing a cheeky grin, "Nothing. It's swamp water..."

She fumed silently. There was no one she hated more than him. She desperately wanted the day to end, and she definitely needed that drink.

***

Sierra dropped her bag as she entered the front door. It was late afternoon by the time she got home, just in time to bid farewell to her mother's sobriety. The two lions lived together in a small bungalow with just enough space to avoid each other. The house had been cared for once, but that was a long time ago.

Talk radio emanated from the kitchen, Sierra's mother, Ibari, had just poured a glass of wine and was preparing dinner.

"Hi, mum," Sierra said solemnly as she sat at the table. She pulled out her phone.

"How was your day?" Her mother asked, but when she noticed the shattered phone screen she tone changed. "Sierra, what did you do to your phone? You need to take care of your things!"

Sierra's cracked screen was just another souvenir Zavvy left her. "I know!" She responded exasperatedly. "I dropped it, it was an accident."

She had one new message. She opened it and her mood suddenly lifted. Hey, Kitten! Coming home tonight, I want to see you. "Adonis is in town tonight!" She said gleefully, a mood she'd felt estranged from since the school year began. "Can I invite him over for dinner?"

"Of course, that would be nice. I haven't seen him in a while," her mother remarked.

Sierra responded to Adonis then texted Eva, telling her she wouldn't be coming out. The fossa would understand.

Sierra got up from her chair, "I'm going to go shower," she announced. She entered her bedroom and shed her school uniform, grabbed her towel and made her way into the bathroom just wearing her underwear. In the bathroom she looked over herself. Turning from side to side, flexing her butt, flicking her tail. Life suddenly felt good again.

She undid and discarded her bra, then reached her thumbs inside the waistband of her panties and began sliding them down her legs. That's when she saw it, a coin sized blood stain.

"No! No! No! No! No!" She panicked. She put a finger between her legs and then pulled it back and looked at it. More blood. Her period was upon her. That explained why she'd been feeling on edge, but the timing couldn't have been worse. She just wanted a night with her boyfriend, to fuck him like an angry feline and now she felt overwhelmed and self-consciousness.

"Fuck my life," she said to herself. She resigned to her fate, there was nothing she could do about it. She didn't know if Adonis would want to have sex while she was menstruating. She didn't know if she wanted to have sex, either. It wouldn't be so bad if blood didn't stain fur so easily. Nevertheless, whatever happened it was still nice to have her man around for the night. She showered, scrubbed herself vigorously, then inserted her menstrual cup.

By the time she returned to the kitchen Ibari was pouring herself another glass of wine. Sierra took it as an invitation, she grabbed a glass and place it next to her mother's. Ibari hesitated for a split second then poured the second glass. She was still getting used to the fact that her baby was an adult now. The last few years had flown by, it seemed.

Sierra smiled and held up her glass and said, "Cheers, mum."

The older lioness held up her glass, "Cheers, sweetheart." A sadness lingered behind her eyes.

Sierra stayed seated while her mother kept cooking. The two chatted until Sierra leaped out of her chair. The sound of Adonis' car was unmistakable. She ran out to greet the big male lion halfway down the walkway. She jumped and wrapped her arms around him, holding him close and pressing her muzzle into his mane. She inhaled his scent, he smelt good.

She released the hug and pulled him into a kiss, their muzzles locked as she held his head in close to hers. He tasted good. She had three weeks of loneliness to make up for, she sucked him in and pressed her tongue against his.

When they finally broke the kiss, she stepped away and said, "I've missed you so much."

Adonis smiled, "I can tell!"

She escorted him inside where her mother greeted him. They sat him down in the kitchen and asked him about university, Ottersway, rugby and life in general. The older lioness wanted to know every detail. He felt like a celebrity. Ibari kept the wine pouring throughout the meal, Sierra had shown restraint but Adonis was unaware of how much he'd manage to drink.

After dinner Ibari said she'd clean up. But that meant leaving the dishes in the sink until morning and pouring more wine. Sierra as casually as she could said, "We'll just be in my room."

She took Adonis by the hand and led him into her bedroom. She slid the bolt she installed on her door closed, a precautionary measure for when her mother was feeling less inhibited. As soon as the door was bolted the two lions started kissing once more. Adonis had fallen victim to her mother's poison and his hands were heavy. She felt up his body, he was meaty but muscular, but she liked to feel his strength hidden under a layer of softness.

Her hand slipped under his shirt encouraging it to ride up his body. He got the hint and pulled it off. As he did, Sierra sneakily threw her own top off. He wasted no time, he reached behind her and clumsily unstrapped her bra. He slid his hands forward and cupped her breasts. She exhaled softly into his touch.

"I've missed you so much," she whispered desperately.

"Me too, Kitten," he replied.

She guided him over to the bed and sat. He leaned forward, she leaned back and suddenly they were horizontal. He climbed on top of her and lowered his hips between her legs. She could feel him swelling as he pressed himself into her crotch. They kissed and rubbed their pelvises against one another, the warmth growing between their legs. Even through jeans, she loved the feeling of him grinding his hips into her sensitive flesh.

He broke the kiss momentarily to whisper, "I'm going to fuck you so hard."

She paused awkwardly. "I'm on my period," she said almost apologetically.

"Oh..." the disappointment clear in his voice.

"I know... Shitty timing." She was mad at herself, and at her body. She knew it was stupid to feel this way yet she just couldn't shake it. "But maybe we can do something else?"

He lay there on top, looking down at her, she looking up at him until he asked, "Could you suck me off?"

Sierra wasn't crazy about oral sex. She found it awkward and a little bit gross. But she was pent up, horny, and didn't know when she'd see him again. "Okay," she said.

She pushed into his chest, rolled him over and straddled him. He lay there on his back with his hands on her hips, their clothed lower bodies still pressing into one another. She scaled down him and off the bed until she was kneeling on the floor, moving backwards until she could access his jeans. He propped himself up on his forearms to watch her work. Slowly, she unbuttoned his pants and dragged the zipper of his fly all the way down. She peeled open the front, he lifted his hips and she pulled his pants and underwear down to his knees.

His cock was still swelling, growing larger by the second. She timidly took the base of his shaft in her hand and watched it grow. His erection lifted towards her mouth as if even it knew what to expect. Adonis watched her come to terms with the act, it hastened his arousal.

He could count the amount of times on one hand that she had gone down on him. He eventually stopped asking, but the truth is he loved it. He didn't know why, but there was something so erotic seeing a lioness on her knees with his cock in her mouth.

"Just let me know when you're going to cum," she said looking up at him one last time.

"Sure thing, Kitten."

She saw the tip of his head leaking and she hesitated, but finally got the courage to move in. She held her breath and started with a ginger lick to the tip of his shaft. She could taste his pre-cum, he was salty all round but that taste was distinct. She licked again, then again, licking away her apprehension. She started lower every time and as he grew fully hard her tongue had even more terrain to traverse.

She went lightly, mindful of her rough feline tongue. As she dragged herself up his shaft she could feel all the soft barbs that decorated him. Evolution had been kind to the lioness, softening the sharp barbs on the male's penis into little nubs that could provide her so much pleasure.

And then she came in from above and enveloped the head of his swollen member in her mouth. She pulled herself back, her upper lip slipping off his tip. Then she went down again, this time deeper. And then deeper. And deeper more. She found her rhythm, he followed along with gentle grunts and deeper breathing.

She moved her head up and down, enveloping him with as much of her mouth as she could spare. The musky scent she missed so much flooded her sinuses. She remembered quickly how much she could take when he hit the back of her throat, she ordered her gag reflex to stand down.

"Fuck, that feels good, Kitten."

She wondered if there were girls who actually enjoyed this. She found solace in his heavy breathing and moans of encouragement. His eyes stayed open and fixed on his cock as she swallowed it over and over. He was lost in the sight and sensation.

Sierra closed her eyes, she kept the pressure consistent, feeling every detail with her tongue as she moved her mouth up and down. Salty pre-cum seasoned him. He rested his hand on the back of her head, claws slightly extended he gently massaged her scalp. Sierra moaned around him, the massage was wonderfully sensuous.

She devoted every bit of her being to pleasing him, she worked his cock as best as she knew how. His breathing was becoming heavier and his hips began to gently rock. He kept his hand on the back of her head, moving with her and stimulating her scalp with his sharp feline claws.

The lion was rock hard. She could feel his erection twitching. He moaned louder. He was close. Keeping up the rhythm, never missing a bit, showing her man with her tongue and mouth how much she missed him.

She dipped her head low once again fully engulfing his manhood, his grip hardened and suddenly she couldn't pull back. She was trapped between his strong, athletic grip and his rocking hips. His cock and her mouth intimately sharing space. She didn't realise what was happening until it was too late.

He grunted, her mouth flooded with cum. She panicked but couldn't move. He held her in place like she was a balled up tissue. In a frenzy, through a torrent of semen her hands found his hips and with all her strength pushed herself away. By then he'd shot most his load into her maw and as she got free, he fired a shot across the bow of her muzzle.

Cum dripped off her nose and out the sides of her mouth. She braced herself as she coughed and sputtered, spraying his seed like shot from a musket.

"Careful, Kitten. You're making a mess," his tone sounded patronising. The rest of his orgasm dripped onto the floor, except for one last drop which slid lazily down the ridge his spent cock. He lay back onto the bed to enjoy the afterglow of his release.

When she could finally get some semblance of breath, she looked up at him with a look of betrayal in her eyes. "Adonis! What the fuck?" she yelled.

"Sorry, Kitten! I didn't know I would cum so quickly." He didn't even look at her.

Semen clumped at the sides of her mouth, "You held me there!"

"I got carried away, I guess."

His lack of remorse angered Sierra further, the taste of violation lingered in her mouth. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Kitten-"

"Stop calling me that!" Her pet name suddenly seemed patronising.

His tone changed, "Whatever, Sierra. It's not a big deal, it's just cum. You don't need to be a bitch about it."

Sierra threw her shirt on over her bare breasts and hurried to the bathroom to wash him out of her mouth only to find it occupied by her mother. She could smell the smoke of cigarettes lingering around the door. She turned to go back into her room to see Adonis already unconscious.

She huffed and made her way into the kitchen. She turned on the tap of the kitchen sink, took water in her hands and swirled it around, then spat it onto dirty dishes left over from dinner - the smell of old food wafted up from the sink.

She then took a seat the kitchen table where they'd had dinner, a bottle of wine still open on the table. She grabbed it brought straight to her lips and took long swig. She swirled it around in her mouth collecting the lion's lingering orgasm and swallowed it all in one go. And then she took another gulp.

She must have sat there a while, eventually her drunk wrapped in nothing but a towel wandered in like the ghost of a lost soldier. "Where's Adonis?"

"He's asleep," Sierra said resentfully.

"I like him," she said thoughtfully. "He's a good boy. Make sure you treat him well." She floated out of the kitchen the same way she came in.

Sierra finished the wine in silence. For a moment she regretted bailing on Eva. She eventually got up and made her back to her room. Adonis hadn't moved. He was out on the bed, his pants down, legs slightly splayed and his feet on the floor. His limp cock still leaking. Sierra suddenly realised she'd left her bedroom door wide open as her mother wandered through the hall. She doubted the drunk lioness would remember much in the morning.

She entered the room and closed the door. She took off his pants and with heavy effort dragged him onto the bed. She was grateful she was strong enough to push him over and get the duvet out from underneath him. She took off her clothes and sidled up to him. Resting her head on his chest, she let the wine take over her. At least she wasn't sleeping alone tonight.

Epilogue

Adonis drove down the highway to Ottersway. The bug splatter on his windshield was a testament to his speed. The highway was elevated through most of the wetlands, allowing whatever gross, squirmy creatures to wriggle safely underneath.

He was feeling good, the road was clear, his tank was full and his balls were empty. Sierra had been pissy the night before but came around in the morning. She always did. He was on his way back to his dorm but first he had a stop to make.

When he got into Ottersway, he pulled up to a run down house long abused by transient students. He parked out front and banged on the front door. A large, male bison opened the door and ushered him in.

"How's your girl?" the bull asked as the lion entered.

"She's good! But got real mad when I came all over her face," Adonis laughed.

The bull smirked, "You take her by surprise?"

The lion grinned.

The bison went on, "Well, now that you've been properly serviced, are you ready to put this back on?"

The bull held out his palm, in it sat a chastity cage and an open lock. The lion felt his cock twitch but he hid his excitement.

"Yes, sir." He said. Adonis knew it was a rhetorical question.

"Good," the bull replied. "So, do it."

Adonis unbuckled his belt, pulled down his pants and picked up the cage. He had to beat the swelling or it wouldn't fit. After all, this was supposed to be humiliating.
