It was another lovely day in the pokemon world as I woke up rubbing my eyes.

I put my clothes on and made my bed like any good seven year old up and coming trainer would I then shorted out my dolls, there not for girls if you get the male ones like I have, I then grabbed my bag I like to go out and find thrown away items or items dropped by trainers then sell them back to trainers at a good price you'd be surprised at what pokemon trainers drop or toss away.

"Morning mum I'm off out again I'll be back in a while"

I said grabbing some food for my self and no one else I then was stopped by our pokemon, a raticate; it picked me up with ease putting me to my mum's side

"Before you go have you got your repel? I bet you don't"

She said as I struggled to get free of the rat's big teeth which did no harm to me just held me in place

"I might do but how do you know I don't?"

I said being dropped down by the pokemon I gave it a petting which it enjoyed

"Well?"

Mum said looking at me

"No, but I don't go that much into tall grass, if I do I run back to here"

I said pointing to the house and raticate

"Here you go good thing I remember now you go and have fun and just remember that raticate might not be here in the future"

Mum said giving me a new repel as well as slightly used one she'd found in my pants

"Thank you mum your the best and I know but I can use him until that day comes"

I said going out the door the rat followed me until I got to the gate I shut it in and walked into the roads around pokemon world.

Being young I didn't go to far but I went quite some ways I would always put a flag up to say that I'd been this far but not that far.

I picked up the items I could see I then saw tall grass I walked into it spraying the repel sending a few pokemon flying or running away I sat in an opening and ate some of my candy and sandwiches as a random bug pokemon went past.

I threw it some food which it ate then ran away I'm not that mean to wild pokemon just the little ones as I'm little too.

My name is Joel I'm seven years old and have only known pokemon since I was three when I was old enough to know or learn about pokemon, you just get the basic, what are pokemon and were they are and how to avoid them and were they live as well as the types I passed with four green flags when I was six I got bored so went out side and there was a wild pokemon I waved at it and it started to growl so I growled at it that was bad as it started to attack that's when raticate bite it and made it faint.

I was in trouble for a while but there only so much playing on a game boy you can do before you want to go out and see things like they do on this game with a hamster and you can catch and train these hamster what a silly idea but its popular (yeah this is a joke were the would/story your in has this but you can't put the said game/show in the show as its mind blowing)

After that I started to go outside more but only if there was no pokemon I then found a repel and sprayed raticate with making him flee from me.

As I put away my rubbish I looked at the items I'd found, not much a few empty pokemon balls which were broken from pokemon breaking out.

A few slightly used potions so they still have a load in them just not as much.

Loads of rubbish but I picked it up any ways to be clean I then heard a racket some pokemon fighting a fight! Can't miss this two trainers going at it this was not to be missed.

As I looked though the long grass I saw a load of bug pokemon using poison sting on this other pokemon I looked but saw no trainers I thought it might be team rocket a group of bad pokemon trainers that wanted only the best pokemon but no.

The said pokemon was a nidoran in blue it was trying to defend itself but failing as more stings came.

"Hay stop that you've won shoo! Go away from it!"

I said rushing in and using the repel which only lasted a few moments the bugs were now angry I pulled out another repel and that worked they fled into the tall grass.

The pokemon growled then got up but feel down poor thing I sprayed it with a potion but that only made it a bit better.

It looked at me with tears in its eyes it then nuzzled my foot before closing its eyes breathing becoming shorter.

I picked it up and groaned it was heavy and using the repel's full effect I ran to the nearest pokemon centre which wasn't too far away.

As I went in there was a nurse joy telling a trainer to be more careful around bird pokemon I went to the desk and said that this pokemon was being poisoned by bugs please help it.

"Oh dear it's only just alive! Joy code 3 get the antidotes and the"

The girl behind the desk was cut short when joy nodded knowing what to do.

"Please save it"

I said she nodded and said that she would before it was pushed though the doors and I was stopped by the nurse pokemon there

I sat on the chairs there waiting as the time went though the day I saw the red light on all the time then it went out and nurse joy sighed I ran to her.

"Is it going to be okay?"

I said looking but not seeing anything

"Young trainer it was stupid of you to let your pokemon get that badly poisoned your lucky it's alive"

She said rubbing the sweat from her brow

"Um, it's not mine, I saved it from being killed by those bugs, I'm not old enough to have a pokemon I'm only seven"

I said rubbing my foot on the floor looking down

"oh dear, I'm sorry, well you did the right thing, now then I'll have to check you over, mhm your okay just wash yourself and the poison will go away"

She said as she went to help other pokemon that trainers were bringing in.

A few more hours later the pokemon I'd saved was brought out it was asleep

"I've knocked it out but it'll be better in a few moments take it back to were you found it and let it go"

She said as she handed it to me it was still heavy it hadn't got any lighter

"Yes nurse joy and thank you"

I said as I walked out the door with the wild pokemon

I walked to were I'd been and put it down I then opened up the sheet which flashed then was gone they were pokemon centre sheets easy to make and for wild pokemon fade away but wake the pokemon up.

I watched as it opened its eyes and ran around growling until it saw nothing no danger, it then sniffed and started to eat some grass.

I sighed and left it but when I did it saw me and went over to where I'd been it then started to chase after me.

As I walked home the pokemon followed me I stopped as I could hear pokemon foot steps behind me I turned and there it was.

"Ah please no I'm not going to hurt you"

I said to it trying to find some food but it came up to me and sniffed me it then made some odd noises and rubbed on my foot

"But your wild, wait, you saw me just before you closed your eyes, you must see me as your trainer, but I'm not"

I said getting down to its level I just said its name and then rubbed more on me

"Nidoran!"

It said as it rubbed itself on my hand

"Well you are cute and well I do want my own pokemon, okay but your not wild if you are then out you go"

I said getting up and pointing my finger towards the grass

it just spoke and looked sad I started to walk home and it followed a few bug pokemon from before saw it and hissed of which it just put it tongue out as I was spraying repel to get home.

As I opened the gate the pokemon walked in sniffing and looking around at its new home or safe place.

At that point the raticate came out then made a B line for the other pokemon which made it scream and hide behind me.

"Whoa raticate no stop its friendly! Stop you over grown rat you!"

I said as it started to chase the other pokemon making it cry and scream

"What's going on? Oh my another wild pokemon go in, I should fix that hole wait I did, Joel did you leave the gate open again?"

Mum said looking as the wild pokemon screamed trying to run away from the other pokemon

"No mum it's a long story ah raticate stop!"

I said trying to grab the rat's tail

The pokemon then jumped and I caught it I lost my balance and fell over but I still had the pokemon in my arms.

Mum came running out only too see the pokemon now hiding but in my arms as I pushed the rat away with my feet.

Mum sighed and told raticate to return to her, she then looked at me and I looked at her as the pokemon rubbed itself on me clearly not wild but happy to be with me.

Once inside the raticate was put in it house and the new pokemon put on the table under a large glass bowel.

I then was held by the ear and told to tell everything so I did.

"And that's the story mum all of it now can I have some food? Or keep it?"

I said trying to get the glass bowel but it was out of my reach but my mum removed it for me

"Well you are old enough to have one, but not old enough to train it take it out into the wild, okay you can keep it but your have to look after it"

Mum said taking the bowel away the little blue pokemon looked then walked to me

"Oh boy thank you mum! Can I use one of the balls? Only if it is mine I need to catch it"

I said looking at the balls that I'd found some were broken but a few were new just tossed or lost

"Sure but your have to do it"

She said giving me a new ball not a used one I'd found

"Okay pokemon if you want to be mine your have to get into this then your mine"

I said showing it the ball putting it on the table the pokemon sniffed it then hit the button a red flash was all I saw then it shock rolled then stopped and it was mine

I picked the ball up and shouted I caught a pokemon alright! I didn't give it a name, its real name was nidoran and it was the girl version of the boy.

I let it out and it shock itself it then started to wonder around the house finding the house of rat which came out but was welcoming to the new pokemon now it was no longer wild.

I picked her up and took her to my bedroom it sniffed and wasn't looking were it was going so it ran into a pokemon doll a cubone she growled and then tackled it making it fall over she then raised her head and walked away having won.

I sat on my bed and watched some telly I then felt the covers being pulled down I looked and there she was trying to get up.

I pulled her up she then jumped down and tried to get up she used her hind legs and jumped getting half way up, I laughed and got up I then put a box next to it she got onto that and then jumped again getting onto the bed, at a guess she was only a baby might be why she was attacked.

She turned around and bounced on the bed then put her head down yawned then started to sleep.

I yawned too it was late my mum said it was bed time I got into my PJ's with all types of pokemon balls on them I got under the sheets and mum tucked me in then nidoran woke up and got under the covers with me this was better then any pokemon doll as it was real.

The next morning the sun rose and the pokemon I'd saved woke up yawning it got out from under the sheets while I still slept.

She then jumped down more slid down pulling the sheets off me I just moaned and rolled over pulling them back over me.

The nidoran looked around the room it was light up by the morning sun she then pushed on the door but nothing happened she then made a growl but that did nothing she then whimpered and looked around then went into a corner and let nature come out, she pee'd in the corner of my comic's and books shelf she then did something else letting out a sigh she looked at the mess rubbing her feet on the carpet which did nothing.

She then growled at the door thinking it would move she then let out a loud growl which scared her making her run back under the bed this woke me up I yawned then sniffed and gagged at the smell of what she had done.

"Oh gods nidoran that's bad, bad girl gods it stinks!"

I said spraying it with potions but to no effect my mother then opened the door as the smell had gotten to her too

"I guess your need one of these in your room huh son?"

She said holding a large long bowl and a bag of pokemon cat litter with a picture of a happy cat pokemon on it

"Yeah but it's not my fault oh gods it stinks bad girl!"

I said pointing to it and saying bad which just made her stay under the bed whimpering

"your never be a good trainer at that rate son, you need to be more happy, well I mean forgive her rather then punish her"

My father said as he came in to see my new pokemon as well as holding his nose

"I guess but"

I started to say

"Come here you, there we go okay bad! But now you know so next time use this"

He said putting her in the tray with the litter she sniffed then started to pee in it

"That's it good girl you see that Joel? That's how you deal with it"

He said as he petted nidoran who made happy noises scraping the litter over the wet patch

"Thanks dad, come on girl let's get food!"

I said but was stopped by mum

"And remember what I said?"

She said handing me a scoop and some smell better spray

"Yes mum this is not part of what I thought this would involve"

I said cleaning the poop up and cleaning the carpet I then put the poop in the bin making sure she had enough litter if she had to go again

At the table nidoran sat down next to me then was given a bowl of pokemon food which was Brock approved.

Nidoran sniffed then ate a bite she then smiled and ate her food.

She finished it quickly she then went to the raticate's bowl she ate one block but spat it out it was different for every pokemon.

I finished mine and then went out the door I wasn't going to go out today instead train my pokemon a little or play either one was good.

As I ran out my pokemon tried to follow me but the door was too big my mum opened it and she ran out into the garden, it was big but there was no wild pokemon or any long grass other then a part that my dad kept for raticate to play in or to hide in.

I ran to my play set and went down the slide I then watched my pokemon go up the steps she then looked at the slide and went down she gasped and landed with a thud but cried out in joy running to me and going up the steps we went as one I then put her on the baby swing and pushed she liked that too.

After a few hours of play she lay in the grass and took a nap I lay next to her and took a nap too naps are the best (I really wish I could do that) I then heard my mum calling and I woke up on me was a blanket and there was raticate watching over us.

My pokemon yawned and rubbed it eyes it then heard the food being put in its bowl and ran to the door jumping up and making a noise I opened it and she flew into her food sending it everywhere I laughed as I picked her up and hugged her my mother sighing as raticate cleaned up the mess with its tail.

In the afternoon we went out into the garden again but this time I took raticate with me I wanted my pokemon to learn some moves.

"Okay nidoran, you need to learn moves if your going to come with me to the outside"

I said she nodded and turned looking at the raticate she then charged and head butted him

"Wait I didn't say attack!"

I said as I looked and she turned and was confused that well head butt had made her confused

raticate just used tail whip on her and she ran to me hiding behind my legs, I used some left over confused potion and she was better she looked at the raticate and then growled which was pretty load the raticate looked in fear that was quite the growl from this little creature.

"Yeah use that growl, growl that other pokemon away!"

I said as she used it again then a much louder roar came out and that made raticate run back to the door

she stood there and I was very happy I picked her up and hugged her then there a ping she had levelled up to LV3 then she had learned head butt, this was great I hugged her and we both played tag which made her a lot faster her agility went up a lot from this even raticate joined in to improve her.

It was now getting late I yawned as I was tried the little pokemon I had was head butting everything and not getting confused unless it used it on raticate then it would but it wouldn't last too long.

"Joel bed time you too new pokemon, your have to name it"

my mother said as I walked into the doorway I told mother I liked the name and that it was my pokemon the raticate picking up my pokemon which had tried itself out I fell into my mothers arms and was almost asleep.

I went to my room and brushed my teeth then got into my PJ's my pokemon was put in a bed of its own it snuggled into it and yawned going to sleep.

"Night nidoran, I'll see you in the morning"

I said yawning as it made a light noise my lights were turned off and we went to sleep

during the night nidoran woke up from a zubat hitting the window it's shadow made her scared she looked around the room then saw all the shadows of the pokemon dolls I had she head butted them but that did nothing.

At that point she started to panic and jumped on the bed she got under the bed sheets and I put my arm over her thinking it was a doll she calmed down and looked out from under the bed sheet sticking her tongue out at the other dolls in the room then went sleep next to me.

In the morning I yawned and then noted I was warmer I then saw that I had my pokemon in my bed, I stroked her and that's when I got a wet feeling on my hand I looked and saw this green mess.

It was bad I then gagged as it got more stronger my parents came in when I called for them they gagged and saw the green mess coming from her, they picked her up and put her outside she didn't like that she head butted the door but that only made the raticate inside use it double kick to scare her away.

I washed up and they rang the pokemon vet the green stuff made my hand tingle and feel numb, some antidote fixed that.

A few moments later the pokemon vet came he had a torn shirt and bite marks on him as well as burns and other things.

He picked her up and felt the green mess then cleaned it and gave her a shoot which she growled at him but then got a treat which she loved eating it and loving it.

"Nothing to fear, just a poison seepage, its common in this pokemon and other poison types, might be she ready for poison sting or something poison"

He said and checked her over saying she was fine just needed this food to stop it from happening until level 7 when it would be under control,

"Thanks mister, I'm sure she'll get there soon right girl?"

I said the pokemon still eating the food but it made a happy noise

After that my mother added the food the vet had given us to her normal food and she stopped only doing it when she got scared.

We did more battles and then let some wild pokemon in they were battled and won, well once raticate was there she grew then got to level 7 in a few weeks.

I was so happy she had also learned a new move poison barbs, it would shot barbs from her back onto the pokemon poisoning them and taking damage, she now knew growl, head butt, and this poison barb, one slot left I was thinking about a fire attack or an ice attack but my parents said that it wasn't going to happen, certain pokemon can only learn certain moves.

As I went to bed she got onto the bed and I hugged her she would growl if she was taken away from me clearly she wanted to protect me as I'd done to her.

I smiled and hugged her as my light was turned off I told her something;

"I love you nidoran, and in the morning your be going outside the fence with me"

I said as she just growled happy and fell asleep but it was true she and I were now going to battle trainers other more stronger pokemon maybe even go a bit father along the road then normal all I knew is it would happen in the morning.
