#2 of The Purchase of a Lifetime

A rhino named Duncan makes the purchase of a captive dragon, with intentions of turning him into a loyal pet. Will it work, or will the dragon make his life hard as hell? These are also marked as adult for later content that shall be present

The dragon yawned as he opened an eye upon hearing noise, staring towards the door which had swung open, and the rhino from before had stepped into the room, carrying a large bucket with himself. Perking his ears, Teireas yawned again, licking the end of his snout as he listened to the rhino speak, "Ahhh....you are awake dragon. Good. I have your breakfast for you, then I'm going to let you out for a walk understand me?" Nodding gently, he soon snapped up the slabs of meat that were dropped and tossed within the cage, finding it just enough to sate his hunger, but not to fill his belly. Either way he was grateful for a meal, a rumbling growl leaving his throat as he ate his meal in relative silence.

The rhino chuckled as he watched the dragon, soon working with the lock upon the cage as he opened it, swinging the door open as he kept a cautious eye upon the dragon, remembering what had happened last time. Not seeing any lunging or anything from the beast, he laughed following the dragon's gaze to the remote that was held upon a small chain at his hip, "Ahh...so you do remember! I won't use that unless you give me a reason to understand? I did tell you this could be a peaceful relationship did I not? Who knows...if you...are proper today and listen, I might not even chain you back up tonight!" With that, the rhino turned and began making his way out of the room in silence, Teireas soon following after quietly, ears tucked down to his head as he observed the creature.

Making his way outside, the rhino laughed as he watched the dragon stumble a bit with the smaller steps, but soon he had flopped into the grass and sun, a loud rumbling purr leaving the golden dragon which made the rhino chuckle, "So you like the sun do you? Well good thing for you then, as I had said, we're going for a walk today!" The dragons ears perked a bit at the mention of a walk, eyes glancing up towards the rhino as he soon felt a soft leather collar affix itself to his neck, followed by a thick chain attached to it, which the rhino held in a large hand, "Come on then....up!"

Huffing, the dragon stood up slowly, stretching himself out like a cat would, rear held high in the air, his front half lowered down to the ground, a deep growl coming from himself as he soon straightened out, going to slowly walking just behind the rhino as he listened to his words again, "You know dragon....I didn't expect you to actually understand me when I made that purchase. I mean...I know your kind are smart, I just thought you had....I don't know...your own speech and things like that."

Soon enough, the two were walking down the near-by sidewalk, the dragon carefully walking along the grass beside it, unable to exactly fit upon the stone walk-way others were using, careful in his travel to avoid crushing anything along his current path. Looking around quietly as he walked, he listened to the sounds of the city, the various beings talking, the vehicles and things that were going up and down the near-by road quite loud to his ears. On occasion a loud truck would rumble on by, blowing an air horn which made his ears lower to his head in attempts to block out the sound from his sensitive hearing.

The rhino gave a light chuckle, noting the reaction as he spoke to the dragon that was walking beside himself, "Don't care for loud noises do you?" The dragon shook his head slowly as he continued to walk along beside the rhino, grumbling a bit as he flicked his tail about slowly behind himself, before re-raising his ears, eyes turning towards the near-by road as he watched the various vehicles go up and down the road. Soon enough though, he turned his attention back ahead of the two, still walking along just behind the rhino, keeping pace to maintain his distance with him, which was just behind at his side.

Once they had arrived, Teireas took a long slow look around the large park they had arrived at, before he felt the chained leash be dropped the rhino was holding, which caused him to look back towards the rhino curiously, before looking skyward with a low rumble. Shifting himself about a moment, he soon leapt up into the air, taking flight into the skies above. Rolling and twisting about within the air, he enjoyed the freedom he felt once more, before he soon took to chasing after a group of birds, growling out loudly as he swooped and dove around after these birds, though never caught them, even knowing he could do so easily. He was simply enjoying the flight.

The rhino stared upwards to the dragon in the skies a few moments before laughing as he spoke to himself a moment, "Figured to let him enjoy himself a moment or so..." The rhino's gaze remained fixated upon the dragon however, still watching him as he simply waited for the dragon to have his fun, figuring the exercise would do him good considering he spent the night within the cage. He was also testing the beast in the skies currently, wanting to see just what this dragon would do if given a bit of rope. Would he run and hang himself with it, or would he keep to that tether distance.

Walking over, he soon sat on a near-by bench, simply observing the dragon in the skies above a few more moments, before he relaxed for a bit, taking a look around the park as he watched the various furs and people with their own animals. After about half an hour had gone by, he soon whistled out loudly, laughing as he watched the large dragon in the skies perk his ears, turning to look to the rhino as he gracefully swooped around and back down towards the ground, landing rather gently for his size ahead of him, listening to the words that were spoken. "Good....you didn't try to take off from me. You see....I told you this could be a peaceful relationship did I not?" The rhino still watched the dragons eyes though, snorting as he spoke again to him, "Did you enjoy your exercise? Regardless, we're going to go pick up some dinner then we're going back home understand?"

Teireas perked his ears hearing he had done good. Tilting his head some, he soon raised his head and chin enough to let the rhino re-affix the chain around his neck, then took to following him curiously now, tail wagging about behind himself as he wondered what was going to be dinner today!

Walking along, the rhino soon stopped at a diner on the main strip of the city, pondering as he glanced up towards the dragon as he tied off the chain he was holding as a leash, pointing to the dragon firmly, "You....stay put understand!? No funny business, don't attack or bite anyone either!" He snorted, before reaching out to pat the dragons head a moment with a heavy hand, before heading off into the diner.

Teireas sat himself down, watching the various furs and people walk up and down the sidewalk, flattening his ears as he attempted to shrink himself back and away from this massive flow of beings, growling lightly towards them all, as though it would make them all simply disappear. He stared before stepping back a bit from one of them that had approached him with a hand out, growling deeply as his claws scraped and dug along the concrete walkway, shuffling back away from the approaching fur, his ears lowering to his head as his tail began to lightly twitch about along the ground.

Duncan, the rhino in the store having heard this as he was leaving with the purchased food, soon stormed over, stepping between the young tiger that was trying to pet the dragon, looking at the young teen with a snort. "What do you think you're doing?" The young tiger stepped back suddenly at the appearance of the rhino, jumping back a touch from the large rhino, and even larger dragon as he stammered and spoke. "S....sorry...I was just trying to....touch him. I...I've never seen a feral dragon before is all...." Duncan gave a soft laugh, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked down to the tiger. "And you decided to approach and touch one without even thinking about it? He could quite easily bite you....tear of an arm or leg....look at him! He's all muscle."

The tiger blanched a bit at the idea of losing a hand or leg, shaking his head slightly. "W...well....yes I suppose so sir. I just...didn't think about it. I am sorry sir." He glanced down, ears flat in apology as he bid farewell soon after, beginning to walk from the rhino and dragon, tail tucked between his legs. Duncan gave a soft chuckle, hollering out towards the kid to come back a moment, soon speaking to the large dragon carefully. "Relax yourself....and don't bite him, or else I will shock you understand?" The rhino made a show of the remote he still held, before looking to the young tiger as he motioned towards the large gold scaled dragon, "You want to touch him....he won't bite you now. I promise."

The young tigers eyes widened at the mention of touching the dragon, seemingly bouncing a bit in place as he reached out towards the dragon, the scaled beast lowering his head low enough to let the teen touch his head, ears flattening to his head once more as he felt that soft paw begin rubbing along his head, soon a soft rumbling leaving his form as the tiger jumped slightly, pulling away from that deep rumbling, "A...ahh!" The rhino chuckled gently, shaking his head a bit as he soon picked back up his bags, motioning for the young tiger to step back as he gathered the large chain leash attached to the dragon, "All right all right. That's enough. We have to get going little guy." The young tiger smiled wide, nodding his head as he waved to the rhino and dragon, walking off into the store to gather his meal as he spoke to the two. "Thank you! Have a nice day you two.~"

The rhino gave a soft chuckle, unhooking the leash as he tugged upon it, getting the dragon to follow after himself as he spoke to him once more. "That wasn't bad dragon. I expected you to bite or chase after something....but you didn't. You stayed put as I asked." Teireas rumbled softly at the praise, his ears perking up a bit as he trotted after the rhino carefully, though soon enough the two were back home.

Duncan rested the bags upon a kitchen table, motioning towards the dragon to the living room as he spoke. "I have some duck in here for you, along with some chicken and a few baked potatoes, and some steamed vegetables. I do hope it is to your liking." He undid two plastic containers, emptying them into a large bowl as he produced a thing of gravy as well, emptying the gravy into the bowl as well. He then gathered his own meal, another thing of chicken and potatoes, along with a large pile of steamed veggies. Sitting down in a large arm chair in the living room, he glanced at the dragon as he watched him eat as he soon spoke up to him. "Don't make a mess on my clean floors either!" The dragon simply nodded, going to eating his meal once more as he glanced up to the rhino a moment, thinking quietly to himself. ~This...might not be so bad as long as I...behave. Food...a nice house....protection of sorts.~ The dragon looked up to the rhino fully now as he finally spoke, his voice deep, rumbly, "T...thank you...sir. T...the name is...Teireas."

Duncan arched a brow at the dragon as he listened, laughing gently as he reached out to pat the dragons head a touch. "Ahh so you can speak! Well Teireas, you are quite welcome. Do enjoy your meal, you did good today, I won't lock you up for the night like the first night. Like I said, I did tell you this relationship we have here now can be a peaceful one~" The dragon simply nodded, ears perked as he went back to his meal in silence, wondering what the day is to bring still considering it's only the afternoon.
