A Little Less Counselor, A Little More Concubine 10

For Fyacin_Tia

By Draconicon

Naked, caged, and with no more answers than he'd had before interrogating Kisari, Fyacin wandered through the palace. He was starting to grow inured to the feeling of the stares over his body, accustomed to them beyond the normal state of things, and the lion had to admit that it was a trifle annoying. His brilliance shouldn't be a thing that one grew accustomed to, nor should the stares of admiration and want. It meant that he would have to put in greater effort to gain them in the future if they were allowed to see his naked body whenever they liked, and he was not inclined to put in that effort most of the time.

Regardless, the lion strutted and swished through the hallways. He had decided to ignore Alys for the moment, and not at all because of the 'fear' that Kisari accused him of feeling at the thought of the hybrid. No, he most certainly did not fear her. He merely felt that it would be unbecoming to chase after both of his peers at once.

No, it would be better, far better, for him to go straight to the top.

The Counselor of the Emperor walked through the halls, doing what he could to ignore the strange feeling of extra weight in his rump. He had first noticed it in the infirmary, but now? Now, there was no question that his backside was...bigger.

The lion refused to stop at any of the mirrors in the grand halls to check. It was hardly becoming of a Counselor to do that, after all, and he was certainly patient enough to wait to see if there was more...weight...in his rear end.

However, it was impossible to tune out all the whispers as he walked through halls of paper and mirror, of stone and polished tile, of wood and inlaid silver. The whispers followed him, and they made his ears burn.

"Such a creature of hedonism. Must he be caged?"

"It seems that he lacks control. Ever the wanton one, it seems."

"A cage? He must have been quite the beast when he was free."

"Yes, he must have."

The implications were clear. They saw him as someone that was a slave to his urges, that had been caged because he was no better than a wild beast. He wasn't sure if it was more flattering to feel that they thought he was so virile, or more offensive that they no longer believed that he was.

A slight snarl decorated his lip by the time he found his way to the throne room. The lion began to step forward, only to be stopped by a pair of crisscrossed spears. He blinked as one nearly took a whisker off, slowly pushing up beneath the sharp tips. They refused to uncross, and the lion leaned his head back with rolled eyes.

"I am still one of the Emperor's Counselors. I am allowed to speak with him," he said.

"You are ordered to wait within the Emperor's chambers...Counselor."

There was another word that started with 'c' that the guard obviously wished to say, but the canine obviously had the good sense not to let the word pass his lips. Fyacin glared at the bigger canine, shaking his head.

"Then I shall make my way there."

He had barely turned around when the comments started again, and despite himself, he could not avoid the swishing that started almost immediately.

He could have told me this before sending me for Restriction, the lion thought, his tail twitching and darting about in annoyance. And now he makes me walk through the palace twice? No, thrice in the nude. How have I offended you, oh Emperor? He paused. Besides the obvious, of course.

There was no answer, and he realized that he was talking to himself. Truly, he was going mad.

The wood-walled, wood-floored chamber that served as the Emperor's bedroom was empty when he first arrived, though the guards at least allowed him to enter there without any argument. That much was a relief, though he was annoyed that it had become such. How much had changed in such a short time? He had been discovered doing one -

Okay, perhaps several sins, if he was honest with himself, but that was hardly cause to reduce him in status by this much. He had enough to deal with by being left naked and being caged, having his perfect shaft locked away so that none might gaze upon it, his pent-up orbs left to ache in perpetuity. Was that fair? Was that a lesson that he truly needed to learn, after he had been as helpful as he was?

The lion nursed his grievances as he knelt before the feathery bed that his lord and master used, sitting such that his plump rump rested on his paws. He could feel the pressure that it created back there, and the very thought of staying like that was almost embarrassing. He could feel the way that his toes drummed against the cheeks made it ripple slightly, and when he leaned back, he had enough substance in his rump that his paws parted his cheeks just by sitting in a different way.

I am not so fat as this.

And yet, his rump seemed inclined to disagree, soft and fat as a whore's bottom. It was certainly not what he had trained himself to have, and every time that it was brought back to his attention, he was embarrassed at what it had become. The very idea that he would ever be like this...

But that was for another time. He had to focus. If he did not bring his case before the Emperor properly, then he would likely be locked in this cage for weeks, if not longer. He did not know how long the Restriction would last, particularly if Alys and Kisari maintained their connection to his lord and master the way that they had thus far. He had to speak privately. He had to speak properly. He had to -

The door opened, and Fyacin turned, bowing at the waist and pressing himself firmly to the floor. The soft footprints of someone smaller than him filled the air, as did the sound of the door sliding shut.

Eventually, the soft, fluffy toe of the Emperor crossed his vision, stuck forward just under his muzzle. Fyacin lowered his head still further, pressing his lips against the toe in a soft kiss of devotion.

"You may look upon me, my lion."

Fyacin nodded, slowly bringing himself upwards. He looked the Emperor in the chin, rather than the eye, knowing better than to take full advantage despite the invitation.

"My gratitude for your presence knows no boundaries, oh my Emperor."

"It is not a gift to you, my Counselor, but rather, a moment of necessity for me."

Fyacin smiled, the lion feeling a hint of pride that he, and he alone, might be of use again. He bowed his head once more.

"Thank you, oh Emperor. How may I serve you?"

"Your proposal. The arming of the poor lands to our east and west."

The lion nodded. He recalled the moment that he had given such advice, and he still stood by it. The lands of the north and south were still marching upon them, by all the signs that the spies had gathered, and he knew that they were still no closer to having allies as they had been at the start.

"What of them, oh Emperor?"

"They have asked for...more."

"More, oh great one?"

"Yes, more. More than weapons and more than coin. They ask for...status."

The lion kept his face carefully schooled to neutrality. Things had changed, then, if such was the case. His time with the foreign general, as well as his time with a diplomat of the opposing kingdom, had suggested that they were desperate enough to be willing to take anything that they could get from the Empire of Dol-Ma. What had changed?

His status, for one, but - oh. Oh, that would explain much. One kingdom had brought low one of the Emperor's advisors, his Counselors, his sacred three, and thus, they believed that they could affect greater changes among the land.

They were arrogant, and in their arrogance, they were pushing for more than they could ever receive...yet, at the same time, they would know that the Empire was in need, and would be required to give in to some demand or other.

"Why do you ask me alone, oh Emperor?" Fyacin asked, playing for time. "Why have the others not been summoned?"

"This was your plan, and I am giving you the chance to salvage it. The others will suggest that we divest ourselves of it; you have reason to offer solutions that might allow the plan to succeed." The Emperor slowly walked around him, standing behind him with soft, white-furred fingers digging into the lion's shoulders. "There is a chance that your plan might yet succeed. Tell me, my lion. How may this problem be solved?"

Fyacin knew that this was a concealed offer at a second chance, something that was desperately important for him to take. The lion's mind raced, trying to solve the problem.

The greatest difficulty was that the poor nations to their east and west believed that the Emperor was vulnerable, that they had made a meaningful dent in the great fox's prestige. It had to be proven that such a thing was not true, for if that was done, then the belief in their own power would be cut out from under them. Their belief in their capability would be taken away, and the Emperor's strength and honor would be restored. Then, the deal may move forward as it had before.

But how?

Fyacin slowly smiled, bowing his head.

"Great Emperor, I have a solution for you," he whispered.

"Then speak it, oh my lion."

"We have ever been your Counselors. Let us become your Concubines, instead."

The fingers on his shoulders stiffened, and he knew that the solution was not immediately appealing to the Emperor. He spoke faster, hoping that his self-satisfaction did not show in his voice.

"I do not mean to say that we are to lose value in your eyes, but rather, to give us a different name. We already lay with you, and we give you our bodies in addition to our thoughts. Allow the world to see you, not as a man detached from the world, but as a man that rules it. Rename us not as your Counselors, but as your Concubines. Me, Alys, and Kisari shall serve your body first, and your mind second in the eyes of the world, and you will regain the honor that my...shame...has left upon you."

He could barely get the words out there, but he knew that he had to speak of it, much as it pained him. There were things that must be discussed, and this was one of them.

But the gains...the gains will be worth it.

He would be 'shamed' by the demotion, but the shame would be spread between the others, bringing them down to his level, allowing the world to see them in a different way as much as it had begun to see him as such.

"...And what would this gain me, my lion?"

"It gains you the respect of a world that cannot understand an Emperor that chooses to remove himself. It allows you to portray yourself as someone that is greater than them, yet still like them. They will understand you, and ally with you as a result."

"And your shame? Would this not make it greater?"

Fyacin smiled slightly. In that one comment, the Emperor had restored his faith in his monarch. He was still cared for; the Emperor wanted him to be okay. He reached up and gently took the fox's hand on his shoulder.

"I will be fine, oh Emperor. This is for the sake of your honor, and the safety of the entire Empire."

And try and argue your way out of that one, Alys, Kisari.

It wasn't the most brilliant of solutions, he would be the first to admit, and he knew that it would only buy them time in the long run. Sooner or later, someone would come to the Emperor and point out that he had actually caved rather than merely adjusted the positions of his underlings, but by then, hopefully it would be too late. They would have their allies, and the war would be over with.

The fox's fingers squeezed his shoulders for a moment, then finally released. Fyacin stared ahead rather than turn around, knowing that his lord and master was considering the proposal. The consideration wouldn't last long. It never did.

And this was no exception.

"I will allow it," the Emperor whispered. "Tomorrow, it will be announced that you have a new title."

"May I request that myself, Alys, and Kisari are present for the announcement?"

"You will be."

"...Your Majesty?"

"You will be present, for afterwards, we will be consummating the new shift in our relationship."

Fyacin blinked, suddenly having the mental image of himself, the Emperor, and the two hybrids in bed together. All of them, sliding together, slipping against each other, filling one another.

"...At the same time?"

"Yes. After all, if you are concubines...why separate you?"

...I may have created a monster.

The End
