#32 of Breeder City

The fleet of earth ships engaged their weapon systems drifting across the axis of advance of the giant Space Breeders. The ships unleashed waves of missiles in a torrent of flame and white smoke trails. The tight formation of ships unleashed a buck shot of over two hundred streaking missiles across space. The white tailed missiles spread out and soon their long casings burst open and fired the warheads at increased velocities in shimmering flashing blue lights. The large Space Breeders only now understood the danger they were in, thin clouds of smaller Breeders were released from orifices to scramble a defensive field, but it was too late. A brilliant flash of light engulf the cloud of tiny Breeders, unleashing temperatures as high as a hundred million degrees Celsius. Countless beings closest to the blast simply vaporized, wiped from existence as fast as the flash itself. Countless more burned to a charred black, pulled apart by the thermal radial blast that scattered their ash to the solar winds.

The darting blue lights spiralling with a flare ripped through their lines and detonated one after the other among them. A warhead lanced through space, bursting into light next to one of the giant creatures, sweeping it aside with intense heat and power. The giant space creatures found themselves in a fiery crucible of cosmic proportions as a cascade of bright lights, mimicking the stars themselves, lit up the darkness of space in a sweeping wave of nuclear hell fire. Space Breeders great and small silhouetted by the intense light started to break apart, expanding thermal radial waves sweeping the titanic creatures aside. The fleet of earth ships drifted while the hundreds of rolling spheres of light and heat engulfed the would be destroyers of earth.

Inside one of the hangers of the Sol Invictus a pilot hit some keys on his control panel, his attention was drawn upward as the large hanger doors slowly opened revealing the field of stars on the other side. "Battle suit teams prepare for launch, primary and secondary targets have been destroyed, commence interception operations." A feminine voice came over the comms. "Blue one, launching!" "Blue two launching!" The pilot watched the battle suits on the upper and lower catapult take off down the tracks. The suits sailed off the end of the tracks, the power tether, once taut snapped off releasing the machines into the depth of space. The pilot felt his cockpit shake as his machine lined up with the upper catapult, his wing man being rotated to the bottom one. He exhaled, gripping the controls tightly, he saw deck crew on the wall sideways waving glowing sticks and then he got the green light. "Blue three! Launching!" The pilot felt the great force of the catapult pushing him back into his seat, the great hanger disappearing being replaced by the star filled void. The battle suit tipped off the rail and it's power cable unplugged giving him control.

A manipulator arm extended from the battle suit's back holding a beam rifle and the machine reached taking the weapon in hand. After clearing the launch radius of the carrier the battle suit threw it's legs forward and fired it's jets, changing coarse as it flew through space. More light flares from other battle suits being launched from all the ships, the battle suit teams assemble armed with their shields and beam rifles, missiles primed, as the waves of Gemini advanced to fight the enemy, thrusters flaring and comm chatter static like from radiation interference and sheer distances. The voice of Commander Val echoed over the comms. "Let's do this ladies and gentlemen, the odds have been tipped in our favour, there will be no retreat, there will be no quarter. For Hyper City and the whole of the earth, one way or the other, this will be our final battle!"

BREEDER CITY

Episode 6: Bridgehead

It's been two weeks since the fateful rescue mission that liberated Chel, Lynn and Ms. Ying. Many of the victims spent a week in guarded hospitals recovering from Legion's pheromones, luckily a side effect of the recovery was memory loss. Probably best for the sanity of everyone involved. Hyper City continued to be racked by hit and run attacks leaving the city in an inactive lock down as the population hunkered down in anticipation of the hope to return to their normal lives. The Professor managed to reacquire his building, with added robot security the Sabre Scouts could operate from the place they call home.

The door to the medical bay slid open and Chel walked through looking around. On one of the medical beds laid a still recovering Nina Anderson, precautions were taken to account for her absence from work, which became easier once Chief Anderson re-assumed command of the tenth precinct. The horned read head smiled and walked deeper into the room with a plate, she walked up to the medical bed and Nina smiled looking up at her friend. "What's that?" Chel tilted the plate revealing donuts and other sweets. "Thought you could use a break from laying around all day." Nina slowly sat up with a groan. "Oh har har." Nina sat up still feeling her body in pain. "How are you holding out?" Chel sat on the bed next to Nina's and the doberman took one of the sweets putting it in her mouth. "Professor says I'm eighty percent, nano-machines are doing their jobs....how about you?" Chel shrugged and shook her head. "Can't really remember much, Professor had to fill me in on everything."

The girls attention was grabbed by the door opening and Ms. Ying walked in and up to them, Nina smiled. "Hey! You made it back!" Ms. Ying didn't seem to be pleased. "I suppose I have you to thank for the rescue?" Nina gave a faint smile but suddenly Ms. Ying grabbed Nina by the cheek. "I also know you disobeyed orders from the Professor! Is that what we do here now? We can do whatever we want now?!" Nina's face dangled on the ends of the voluptuous panda's fingers. "Owe owe owe owe!"

Chel leaned forward on the bed she sat on. "Take it easy Ying, don't you think she suffered enough?" Ms. Ying locked eyes with her and released Nina. "Indeed, is that so?" Ms. Ying walked over the computer next to the bed and ran her fingers across the keys. "Let's look at the sum total of Nina's stupidity. A concussion, crushed eye socket, three broken ribs, two slipped disks, hair line fracture in the Radius, internal bleeding." Nina frowned listening to the list of her injuries. "Your lucky your MAX suit held you together long enough for extraction." Nina looked up from her med bed. "I'm sorry for wrecking the suit..." Ms. Ying snapped around, turning on her heels. "I don't care about that you idiot!"

Chel exhaled. "Calm down already, at least wait till she can stand up before you knock her down." Ms. Ying now turned her attention to the red head. "Would you be so calm if we got another Sarah on our hands!?" Sarah, the former Sabre Scout once known as Gamma who died in the line of duty. A seldom talked about event and Chel frowned looked down at the floor to hide her face behind her hanging red locks. Nina looked away knowing she never knew this fallen warrior. Ms. Ying took the silence as her moment to leave and walk toward the door, just as the door slid open she stopped and looked back. "The Sabre Scouts are a TEAM for a reason ladies. You would do best to learn this." The door slid shut behind her.

Chel blew air from between her tightened lips. "For a second there, I thought she was going to spank you in front of me." Nina rested her head on her pillow with a distraught look on her face. "She's right, I am an idiot." Chel looked at her friend and smirked. "Nah she's just being a mom, I think you were pretty cool." Nina looked at her. "Wha?!" Chel's smile grew bigger. "Yeah! You plan the rescue, bust through the ceiling and you went toe to toe with Legion by yourself." Chel threw her fists, punching in the air. "Pow pow, cool." Nina rolled her eyes. "Stop making fun of me, I got my ass kicked." Chel hopped off the bed and leaned over Nina. "Not what I saw from the visor cam....before it broke. "That's WHY I'm here!" Chel quoted Delta from the fight in a serious grizzled voice. "You think I could be cool like you, one day?" Nina looked up at the horned red head and her sharp red eyes. She knew Chel was just trying to make her feel better and it slightly worked. Nina smiled then rolled over, turning her back on her. "Not in your life time." Chel smirked. "You can be such a bitch sometimes." Nina grabbed a second pillow and threw it at the fox from over her shoulder, making it bounce off Chel's recoiling face. "Oh look who's talking!"

District one, the center of a great city under siege, the static artificial sun hung in the luminescent panels of the domes despite it being well past sun down. A state of emergency had been declared and the day light times have been extended to banish the shadows in an effort to help the Hyper City Security Force in their tasks. Legion has continued to wage a guerrilla war, her army under the city-state seemed to have the ability to strike anywhere. Many in the rank and file of the Security Force were becoming exhausted, many haven't seen their families or loved ones since Legion's war had started and it was taking a toll on morale. Worse yet there was RUMOURS filling the battered precincts of a fleet of Space Breeders numbering in the thousands, bringing more of the great titan creatures. The Sabre Scouts have not been heard of or seen in weeks, some say killed or taken in some unseen fight somewhere. The streets and core government buildings of district one were lined with Security Force officers and the heavy machines of the elite district one precinct, only the best of the best got to serve here. Large numbers of the fourteen foot tall mecha suits in their white and blue colors walked down the streets patrolling, large heavy trucks and other tactical vehicles were parked in front of various buildings.

Inside the main governmental palace, the seat of power to earth's only super power. Inside a beautifully decorated office, the vice chancellor hunched over the desk as he took a sip of amber liquid from a short glass, a half empty bottle next to his supporting elbow. "Uuuuuhh god, the one time I get to be in charge.....why couldn't it have been during an economic boom or something." Suddenly the large ornate doors slid open and the silvery white haired chancellor walked through, locking eyes with him in a look of annoyance. He quickly stood pushing the large leather chair from him. "Chancellor! You've recovered! Thank god, I'm so happy to see you!" The chancellor crossed the room and propped her fingers on the polished large desk. "Is the chair comfortable Reginald?" The vice chancellor looked defensive. "Madam chancellor, you simply caught me at a moment of rest is all." Aaron looked over to the half empty bottle on the desk. "Nice to see you have your priorities straight."

Reginald stepped out from behind the desk and walked around. "I'll have you know, when we got word of what happened. I was shocked, shocked AND appalled, and I made sure the city knew it!" Chancellor Aaron turned and sat on the desk folding her arms under her heavy breasts. "And yet it was a lowly Sargent from the tenth precinct that orchestrated my rescue, where were YOU Mr. Vice Chancellor?" Reginald once again looked defensive. "I assure you, I was right here.....coordinating the rescue, I signed the forms to dispatch the detachments myself!" Chancellor Aaron seemed unresponsive to this and the small man quickly grabbed a holo-screen tablet from the desk turning it on. "You will be pleased to know that your current victim hood have not effected your polls, in fact much sympathy was gained. You even seemed to have become extremely popular with young men.....for....some reason." The chancellor's eyes darted to look at the man and she took the tablet throwing it across the well decorated room with a loud clatter. "What good are polls if there is not city left to vote for me you fffffff...." The silver hair cheetah took a breath and walked over to the large window leading to a balcony.

"I took a vow to build upon Hyper City's prosperity and......Every. Little. Thing keeps getting in my way. Is it so hard to just want to do fundraisers, help the needy, pass laws and look good while doing it?" Reginald's eyes darted back and forth not know if she was talking to him. "What about the fleet I sent out to deal with that OTHER problem?" Reginald stiffened and looked down. "We.....lost contact with them about two weeks ago....they said they were pressing an attack then....no word after that." Chancellor Aaron's head dropped as she exhaled. "Sure....why not.....maybe it's not too late to hire the Sabre Scouts as a personal guard...."

Just then the large doors slid open once again and the chancellor's assistant, the well dressed Siamese came running in, in heels. "Sir! Sir!.....oh CHANCELLOR! Thank god your back!" Reginald made a look of disapproval. "Hey!" The assistant ran over to the cheetah and hugged her in the most unprofessional manner. "You have no idea how horrible it's been." Reginald once again looked shocked. "It wasn't that bad." Aaron looked at him then back to her assistant. "Easy, easy, why did you come in here?" The Siamese assistant perked up. "Oh right, we reestablished contact with the fleet, they have engaged the enemy and are currently fighting it out with the enemy as we speak!" Aaron raised her fist and smiled. "Yes! That means we are still in this. Go and call for a meeting of the Security Force Chiefs. I want to burn these bastards out of every corner and hole in the city with every unit we have." The assistant smiled back with glee. "Yes ma'am!" Reginald walked up clutching his hands together. "Everyone? Even the officers outside guarding the government buildings?" Aaron turned around as she started to leave her office. "EVERYONE!" She walked through the large double doors with an air of determination in her stride. "We're going to see how that bug bitch feels when the boot of Hyper City comes down on her!"

Later that day, back at the building the Sabre Scouts call home, Chel stepped through an opening door into the briefing room where everyone else was sitting around the meeting table. "Do we have any leads on Legion's location?" Chel sat on the hovering chair to converse with the others. Ms. Ying still standing looking at the holo-screens floating above them. "No yet, she is proving to be incredibly illusive." Trixi added to this. "There are reports of her at different attacks, leading the Breeders, but there are other attacks that seem to be diversions or faints drawing attention away from her." Lynn leaned forward pressing her large breasts against the table. "Is there a way we can smoke her out?" Chel nodded. "It would be better if we can fight her on a battlefield of our choosing, she has proven to be smarter then the rest of the Breeders."

The Professor joined in. "The Security Force has liberated more smaller nests, with the city on lock down and the defences tightening Legion is running out of options for taking prisoners, she will have to make a final move sooner or later. Whatever she is planning she is being coy about it however. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to the nest locations either. Very odd." Ms. Ying tapped her little metal wand popping up a holo-screen displaying information marked top secret. "Apparently the H.C.S.F. Sent out a fleet to intercept Space Breeders on coarse for earth. As disturbing as this is, maybe what she is doing involves them some how?"

Trixi who was keeping herself busy on her tablet suddenly sat up with wide eyes. "Uh, guys, you better take a look at this!" Ms. Ying pointed her little device at the tablet and dragged the screen from the tablet and expanded it in the air with the others. Everyone in the room watched a live NEWS feed from flying drones. They watched a tall building collapse and fall over the street in a burst of dust clouds and rubble. As the dust levelled out they could see a small section of the city somewhere being cleared, walls and paths being built from debris, a large Breeder warm bending from a hole and releasing a terrifying bellow. Buzzing Breeders flying around in the sky over the construct.

The Professor slowly stood and walked toward the floating screen. "What IS that?...." Chel cocked her head. "It looks like....a fortification of some sort." Lynn sat up straight. " Looks like they are getting brave, starting to claim territory." Ms. Ying looked to the side, stroking her bottom lip with her finger. "that's it!, it's a bridgehead. She is preparing for the arrival of the Space breeders." Trixi punched her palm with her fist. "Attacking the city on two fronts. Inside and out! We gotta stop her before it's too late." "Legion is there." The group turned to the door they didn't notice was open and Nina stood there dressed and looking up at the screens. "You should be in bed!" Chel called across the room. Nina walked over to the meeting table and smiled. "I'm done feeling sorry for myself and a battle is coming, we will need to fight it together...." The purple pony tailed doberman looked at Ms. Ying. "...as a team." The voluptuous panda maintained a stern look but slowly nodded, understanding Nina's determination.

In orbit above the planet drifting silently, a lonely hulk of technology in a shifting geosynchronous orbit over Hyper City. This satellite, adorned with blinking lights is the private property of an illustrious scientist called Sky Vault. Inside the cold air could be clearly seen as a misty substance shifted about it's tight spaces. Suddenly, as if awaking from a slumber a holo-screen lit up showing the images and measurements of four girls, along with the many calculations for it's intended task. Large cylinders rotated making a clunking noise like the chamber of gun being loaded. Outside a beam emitter lit up with a glowing baby blue color then suddenly shot down towards the surface of the planet.

A wash of blue light engulfed Chel, her cloths disintegrated leaving her naked in the light, her red hair flaring like flames. The rubberized bodysuit materializes along with armored collar of the MAX suit. The red armored legs materialized up Trixi's legs, the segments shifted and sealed shut, the jets on the calves moved up and down. The green armored spine materialized up Nina's back, the jets on the small of her back shifting up and down while Nina stuck out her arms. The green armored arms materialized up her arms, she closed her hand to a fist as the mechanical plates shifted closed and her knuckle bomb closed and locked around her fist. The purple armored visor materialized connecting to Lynn's suit over her forehead as she pushed her big tits together, the armored triangle materializing over her nipples, She released her tits letting them bounce in the energy beam. All together their armored visors lowered over their eyes and sealed shut on their faces. The red neon glowing light activating and with that, Hyper City's armored guardian angels took form, Sabre Scouts were ready for battle!

Across the city in the strange earth works of the Breeder army, the dust clung heavy in the air. Legion stood atop a large pile of rubble watching her army work, she knew they would be coming. The Security Forces, the Sabre Scouts and whatever would be defenders the city would throw at her. It didn't matter, soon the Space Breeders would arrive, now was the time to trick her enemies into concentrating into one place. They will think she is trapped, but they will be committing to their own final battle. She had spent the past couple weeks building her forced and exhausting the enemy, her army numbered in the thousands and will wash over them in hours if they chose to fight here, she figured the probability was high, given how much she has pissed them off. Legion mused to herself, her antenna shifting this way and that directing her forces. Ordered ranks of giant alien insects swarmed beneath her in an ant like manner of discipline. As long as she was here to coordinate, the Breeders wont break or succumb to their baser instincts, they will fight and they will win.

Suddenly her concentration was broken. "Sophia Fairchild..." Legion turned on her heals to see the Professor walking up to her. She was startled by this, she couldn't feel anything coming from him. Her warriors crawled around her and squeezed from holes in the rubble. "Your either very brave, or very stupid old man." Legion's antenna moved and the warriors stopped advancing on the Professor and scattered in different directions. "I've come to talk some sense into you, to give this one last chance. I made a promise to do everything in my power to help you. Please Sophia, leave this behind and come with me. There is no future in this for you."

Legion made a look of annoyance hearing that name, then her black lips curled into a smile. "Future..." Legion turned and looked at the towering glass buildings surrounding her redoubt and waved her hand at it. "This is your future? A glittering monument on a dying world." The professor looked on to the city with the insect queen. "I am Ozymandias, king of kings, gaze upon my great works yee mighty and despair." The Professor thought on these words then looked up at the naked Legion above him. "You think us arrogant? We strive to learn from the mistakes of the past, it was hard with countless lives lost, but great progress has been made. The Breeders would swoop in and take that, our future from us. You mock us but your no better then interstellar highway robbers. Petty beggars."

Legion looked at him only slightly turning. "We have been travelling the stars a billion years before your world had life. Great is the civilization that grows the trees, which shade they know they will never rest in." Now the Professor seemed flustered, he's heard these words before. "You would use our poetry, our philosophies to justify your actions here!?" Legion once again looked away. "Your species lacks the conviction and courage to truly project yourselves into the future. You would destroy yourselves simply because a chosen few didn't get their way in the moment. Oblivious to the consequences to your offspring and your future as a whole." The Professor shook his head. "Then you don't really know us then." Legion smiled. "Don't we now? We were in fact just like you not long ago remember? We were reborn from the very lack of patience that brings your kind to destruction oh so often." "Reborn..." The Professor muttered. "Different....Better." Legion concluded.

The Professor took a step forward. "And what about Steven? What "Trees" do you grow for him?" Legion's face softened even though the Professor couldn't see it. "....Steven...." The professor took another step forward. "Yes, Steven, Steven Fairchild, brother of Sophia Fairchild. You were born August 30th 660. A brilliant mind bent on helping people, fuelled by the love for your brother. In many ways we are more alike then different, remember what it means to want to help others, not destroy." Legion slowly shook her head and clenched her fists. "We...we are.....I....can't..." The professor pressed his attack taking another step forward. "Your family....your future...there is still time for all of it, just....come with me...please." Legion hunched forward pressing her hands against her head, the whispers trying to drown out the professor's persuasions. "I...can't...it's too..... hard now..."

The Professor urged her on. "No you can! Your stronger then they are, fight them, remember who you REALLY are Sophia!" Legion suddenly turned with an air of fury. "STOP SAYING THAT NAME!" Legion jumped into the air, her bladed legs shifting forward to impale the older cat who recoiled in fear. Legion struck the ground burying her bladed into dirt. "What!?" She turned seeing the Professor looking at her, his body flickering and shifting, a trick of photons. A floating metal sphere which was hidden this whole time made itself known by flying into view. "No wonder we couldn't feel you, a distraction?" Legion stood looking around. "I'm deeply sorry I could not help you Sophia, this will be one of my greatest failures." Legion waved her arm as she walked through the Professor, destabilizing the hologram, the sphere turned off and flew away into the air.

Back at the Sabre Scouts HQ the professor lowered his head standing under a projector, he took a deep breath as Ms. Ying walked up behind him. "Am I to assume it didn't work?" The Professor simply shook his head. "Her mind is to far gone, trapped, and I know of no way to break the connection between her and the alien mind." Ms. Ying placed a hand on his shoulder. "You tried your best, but the safety of the city is our priority." The Professor nodded and turned to face her. "Your right, begin the operation, tell the girls to move in."

Back at the Breeder redoubt Legion climbed a hill of rubble over looking her army and in the distance seeing an unmarked drop ship rise into the air and take off. She focused her compound eyes making out clearly four female armored fighters, the Sabre Scouts. "We knew they would be the first to arrive, thus the first to die." Legion mused to herself only stopping for a moment to reflect on the recent conversation, the whispers gave her comfort, she has a higher purpose now, she knows what must be done.

Beta, Delta and Epsilon stood in a line overlooking the host of giant insects standing between them and their target, Legion. Alpha in her Alpha plus exo-frame, made to mimic the mobility and fire power of the Security Force's own mecha suits stepped forward to join them. Alpha unlocked and raised her visor looking at the daunting task before them with her own eyes. "Well there is a lot more then we thought there would be." Beta looked down the line with the others. "It's been a week since I called my parents, either way I'm screwed." Epsilon smiled with her armored hands on her hips. "It was fun knowing you girls while it lasted." Alpha looked down at the green armored doberman next to her, who looked back engaging her kinetic knuckle bombs. "Let's just get this over with so I can go back to bed."

"Twelve, open it up!" Alpha called out as the unmarked drop ship flew over head and released an object aiming for the Breeder army. An EMP weapon used to confuse and dislocate the giant insects and Legion watched this from her commanding position. The antenna on Legion's head shifted as the Breeders spread out making way, and right under the falling weapon the ground burst open with a harrowing bellow. One of Legion's giant Breeder worms rose into the sky from it's hole with it's great mouth open, it's tentacles lashed out and grabbed the weapon eating it. The breeder worm plunged back into the earth. The Sabre Scouts watched the ground suddenly rise with a boom and buckle, the giant worm dead from the confined detonation. Legion simply smiled with her shiny black lips.

"What the fuck was that about!?" Beta called out turning her energy shields on getting ready for a fight. "Looks like we are going to have to do this the hard way." Epsilon primed her projectile weapons. "Is there another way of doing this?" Delta made ready. "Alright then, Legion is the primary target, whatever happens, she dies here and now. Sabre Scouts!..." Alpha armored visor lowered and sealed on her face, the red neon light lit up with a computerized sound. "...it's show time!"

The Sabre Scouts broke into a charge led by their leader Alpha as the exo-frame spear headed the attack. The four female armored figures descended from their rubble hill into the soon to be battlefield and Legion watched this. The insect queen tilted her head back giving her silent command and the Breeder host surged forward as one disciplined mass, counter charging the greatly outnumbered attackers. The buzzing flying scouts took to the skies in waves, filling the air like fighter squadrons. Several of the much larger Breeder tankers, giant crab like creatures lumbered forward with their impaling legs snapping their giant metal crushing pincers. As the battle lines of the opposing forces drew closer. "Epsilon now!" Alpha called out, the purple armored Sabre Scout jump jetted into the air unleashing a hail of missiles. The Breeder's charge was blunted by a cascade of explosions, incinerating the attacking giant insects.

Alpha unleashed her giant beam blade, letting it disconnect from her exo-frame. The flying beam blade cut through the smoke and the advancing ranks of the giant insects carving a path. The Sabre Scouts tighten up into an attacking flying wedge formation, shooting and slicing as they advanced. The Breeder army marched on, curving around the attacking armored vigilantes cutting them off from where they came in a coordinated encirclement. Alpha's spinning beam blade came back via tracking signal and reconnected as she lead the advance, crying out and sweeping the Breeders with her weapons.

The Sabre Scouts made it over the first hill, the sheer volume of the Breeders started slowing them down. Explosions rocked the battle ground sending broken bodies arcing through the air. Delta and Beta now leading the attack down hill, smashing and slicing through attacking Breeders with savage fervour. Alpha raised her exo-frame arms unleashing torrents of missiles darting through the air as the buzzing Breeder scouts exploded, raining from the sky as burned husks. Epsilon held up the rear, unleashing volleys of scattering depleted uranium needles and energy bolts, cutting down attacking insects trying to creep up on them. The Sabre Scouts kept a tight formation, maintaining a ring of death around them. "Back up girls!" Alpha called out firing a heavy object into the air. As the Sabre Scouts retracted the object burst in the air raining down depleted uranium needles in a circular patter around them, impaling and killing many giant insects caught in the blast in a smattering of blue blood.

Yet the Breeders kept coming, swarming over mounts and hills of rubble, filling the paths, carapace against carapace their numbers choking. If they could not over power the Sabre Scouts, they will win through attrition alone. "I'm going to run out of ammo if we don't make any big moves!" Epsilon called out, firing off her weapons into attacking waves of giant insects. Alpha turned and looked at Legion still watching them. They were closer but not close enough, how could they fight off all this and her at the same time? A giant Breeder tanker marched into view, obscuring Legion from Alpha's sights, a Breeder grabbed her exo-frame's leg and she picked the creature up by the head. The auxiliary arm came around and handed her, her rail gun, lining up her targeting radical. At the same time she crushed the Breeder in one hand while firing the rail gun. The penetrator round sliced through the tanker's body making it collapse dead with a powerful thud, a trail of atomized blue blood sailed right for Legion but just missed striking the hill she was on.

Legion recovered from recoiling from the attack and looked down at the surrounded and fighting Sabre Scouts. "They are determined, but so are we." Legion pointed at the ground and flicked her wrist gesturing. The ground shifted as another of her giant worms slithered to the point of battle. The giant worm pushed through the ground and the rocky rubble burst as the creature surfaced, opening it's great mouth and bellowed. Alpha in her exo-frame quickly turned to meet the giant creature, bits of debris and rocks clanked and bounced off her armor as she brought her rail gun to bare crying out. "Rrrraaaahhhhh!" It may have been too late as the giant worm lurched forward to attack, when suddenly two streaming missiles struck the Breeder worm in the flank. The giant creature exploded splitting in two in a massive splatter of burned flesh and blue blood. "What the fuck was that!" Epsilon looked back as a Security Force Drop ship screamed across the battlefield. Legion followed the aircraft with her compound eyes and a sour look, she looked up.

A feeling of shock, surprise and relief filled the embattled Sabre Scouts seeing the sky filled with hundreds of Security Force drop ships flying in formations above the city buildings. Clamps released unleashing their payload, hundreds of the XM-88 Enforcer mecha suits started raining from the sky. The falling machines reflecting off of the polished glass of the buildings around them as they aimed down. The Sabre Scouts watched waves of missiles come down like slate making explosions rock the battlefield, energy beams lance across the ground cutting through and burning ranks of Breeder warriors. Powerful jets firing as the heavy Enforcers slowed before landing, impacting the ground and opened up with their weapons. Delta smiled and raised her arms into the air. "My people!"

Across the city, deep in the government palace complex, a room full of floating holo-screen and rows of officers working at holographic keyboards. On a second tier over looking this and the many displays showing the battle taking place, large maps showing the converging signals of the many precinct forces advancing on the Breeder bridgehead. Chancellor Aaron sat in a large comfortable chair watching everything unfold. "Vanguard forces are on the ground and have engaged the enemy. We have gotten reports that the vigilante group Sabre Scouts are already there fighting with the Breeders." A voice carried across the cacophony of voices coordinating the Hyper City Security Force combined arms attack. The vice chancellor standing by the glass barrier that stopped people from falling over the edge looked back. "The Sabre Scouts!? Those rotten no good...." Aaron raised a hand to silence him, tapping her finger nails in sequence across the metal of the arm on the chair. "Forget them, press the attack on the Breeders alone."

Back at the increasingly violent battlefield waves of Breeders charged in coordinated attacks on groups of Enforcer mecha suits, weathering the weapons fire. Explosions rocked around them sending broken and burned insect bodies into the air. Suddenly a large explosion rocked the makeshift barriers blocking a road and large armored vehicles started pushing in, surrounded by armed and armored security officers wading into the fight. A chorus of battle cries mixing with gunfire filled the air.

Legion watched her plan unfolding and started stepping down from her commanding position atop a rubble hill. "It is time for us to join the fray, we will see the end of the Sabre Scouts ourselves." Across the field of charging ranks of giant insects, missiles and beams of energy lancing through the air the Sabre Scouts pressed on, bolstered by the presence of the Security Force seemingly fighting along side them. "We have to get to Legion, cut the head off this snake!" Alpha called out forcing her way through a cluster of Breeder warriors in her exo-frame. "Keep fighting forward, I think she was just over there!" Delta hammer punched a Breeder into the ground protecting their flank.

Just then the Breeders seemed to shift their attack away from the Sabre Scouts, giving them a wide enough birth. One of the great Breeder Tankers thumped up and snapped at Alpha's exo-frame with it's powerful pincers, catching the exo-frame's arm in a vice grip. "Rrraaahh, get off me!" Alpha called out activating the large beam blade on the other arm and thrusting it point first into the giant Breeders face killing it. Just before the great beast fell to the ground Legion jumped from it's back and planted a powerful double kick on Alpha. The exo-frame's armor buckled and lunged back ripping the arm trapped in the pincer off in a mess of sparks and frayed wires. Legion grabbed the armor chassis and started to bend it with incredible strength, grunting as she molded the metal in her bare hands. Alpha swung her remaining arm over and punched the insect queen off of her making Legion hit the ground, using her bladed legs she recovered and flipped onto her feet.

Just as Legion looked up, Delta with a great cry came sailing down from above unleashing a powerful kinetic shock wave upending the destroyed ground under her. Legion had just jumped out of the way and smiled. "Round three is it?" Delta charged. "Rrraaahhh!" The green armored Sabre Scout started trading blows with Legion in a reenactment of their previous battle, only now, her team was with her. Legion and Delta swung for each other wild and hard, powerful booms could be heard fuelled by Delta's short fuse fury. Beta and Epsilon watched in awe almost as scared of Delta as they were of Legion, only glad that the determined woman was on their side. Legion crossed her arms sailing back through the air and hit a large rock and ducked out of the way before Delta clutch kicked the rock in half making it collapse. "I'll kill you good!" Epsilon placed a hand on Beta's shoulder. "Lets get in there before those two wreck the city like a giant kaiju holo-movie!"

In the Sabre Scout operator room, Ms. Ying watched from her console while the Professor sat in a chair watching over everything. The holo-screens shows the perspective of each Sabre Scout as they traded blows with Legion, the insect queen dodging and counterattacking. "Epsilon, fall back twelve feet, I am sending you fresh ammunition for your MAX suit." The voluptuous panda worked her fingers across the glowing keyboard as she spoke.

The purple armored Sabre Scout fired her jets and leapt back a distance from the fight, modules in her arms, the missile racks on her legs ejected from her body. A beam of light shot down onto her for a moment, replacement parts materializing in the vacant spaces. Once complete Epsilon charged forward to rejoin the fight. Legion heaved the Alpha exo-frame over her sending the damaged suit into the ground, Delta tried attacking from behind only for her blow to be deflected by one of Legion's bladed legs and was struck in the head with a fist, Legion kicked her away. Legion then struck Beta's shield being stopped and the red armored skunkete unleashed a flurry of jabs and slices forcing Legion to step back, her bladed legs swirling defensively making burned sparks fly. "Spunky little thing aren't you?"

Legion reached with her black clawed hand only to have her fingers cut off as she screamed, Beta blocked a strike and sliced up cutting the end off one of Legion's bladed legs. Legion swung her other bladed leg around and punctured the red armor on Beta's arm making the shield emitter spark and flutter but not before slicing off the blade that struck it. "Raaahhh! Damn fools!" Legion kicked the petite skunkete across the air making her hit and bounce off a large rock. "Hey! Pick on someone your own size bitch!" Legion looked up seeing the purple armored Sabre Scout Epsilon arcing through the air, jets firing as the lioness threw her hands forward and unleashed a torrent of depleted uranium buck shot and micro-missiles. The thin rods ripped through Legion body showering her and pinning her to the ground by one knee, while the missiles followed and engulfed her in an explosion of dust and fire. "AAAAAHHHH!"

A portly pitbull of aged masculinity in combat armor watched a large explosion rise up from where he once saw the insect queen through his binoculars. "Gezzzuusss what the fuck was that!" A red panda Asian beauty in matching armor stood by his side. "I believe that was an explosion sir." Chief Hershey of the ninth precinct snapped around. "I don't pay you to be a smart ass Miyamoto! I know it was an explosion!" He turned looking back over the raging battle, projectiles flying, explosions bursting and swarms of Breeders crawling over everything, over powering and bringing down mecha suits and officers alike in furious hand to hand combat. A formation of drop ship flew over head unleashing a scattering of missiles while the buzzing scouts tried to intercept them. One of the drop ship's engines burst into flames getting clogged by kamakazi Breeders as the airship spun out of control and crashed into the battlefield, cartwheeling across the ground. "I hope you brought my blood pressure pills for this one..." Suddenly a buzzing scout flew from above and grabbed officer Miyamoto as she screamed lifting her into the air. Chief Hershey raised his weapon but couldn't get a clear shot. "IZUMI!"

Izumi struggled in the grasp of the Breeder when gunfire rang out punching holes in the creature making it drop her with a yelp. Her sudden collision with the ground was interrupted as she fell into the arms of a large man. "I got you Ms. Miyamoto." Izumi looked up seeing the welcoming handsome face of Leon Plissken. "Are you OK?" Izumi stared into his eyes feeling secure in his arms. "Uuuuhh.." Chief Hershey ran up huffing. "Good job my boy!" The ninth precinct leader looked around. "Did your dumb ass partner already get herself killed yet?" Leon set down the rescued officer and looked behind him. "Fiona? Nah she's over there." Their attention was directed to the blonde ocelot screaming in her feminine raspy voice as her body shook firing a belt fed light machine gun on a hill. "YEAAHH YOU BETTER RUN! MORE WHERE THIS COMES FROM!" Fiona looked to the side drawing her trademark Mustang .357 and fired below her. "I SEE YOU, YOU SQUEAKY FUCKS!"

Alpha and her exo-frame were slammed hard into the ground, the exo-frame looked smashed and ragged as the canopy popped off and Alpha jumped from it's confines as Legion's now healed bladed legs impaled the insides of the machine just missing the blue armored red head. Legion found herself caught between a flurry of attacks, Alpha on one side, Delta on the other as she dodged, attacked, counterattacked. Her knee hit the ground, she pushed a firing plasma weapon into the air meant for her head. She took a kinetic hit to the face, rose and headbutt in return, felt a knee to the back returned with a backward kick. "Just die bitch!" Delta cried out striking two powerful kinetic blows to Legion's head one after the other making the insect queen stagger back into Alpha's beam blade which sizzled through her body. "Rrraaaahh!" Legion threw her head back, smashing Alpha in her armored visor knocking her back and returned the powerful blows on Delta, Epsilon tried to intervene but Legion dodged her weapons fire, catching some penetrator needles in the body. Legion ran in an arch and seized the lioness by the hips, the insect queen spun fancifuly on Epsilon's body ceasing her head with her knees in a standing 69 headlock and dropped Epsilon to the ground head first with a boom. "Your efforts are futile, you will never win against us!"

Out in deep space, flashing bursts and lancing beams could be seen in the blackness, as a space born battle continues to rage. A Gemini battle suit drifted firing it's beam rifle from behind it's torn and battered shield when a streak of plasma lanced by and the suit sizzled in half and exploded in a fireball. A team of Gemini flew by skirting the three dimensional battlefield firing their weapons into the swarming masses of space Breeders. One of the larger creatures latched onto a badly damaged destroyer, it's tentacles wriggling in the holes it made as life boats scattered in all directions. Soon an explosions burst from the destroyer leading to another, then another as the destroyer blew up in fire and metal flying debris taking the large creature with it. The Sol Invictus drifted through the fight, rippling explosions filled it's defensive fields from the rhythmic flack gun fire. A bolt of plasma struck it's hull causing an explosion to it's now stripped reactive armor and scorched under armor of titanium ceramic plating.

The CIC rocked from the impact as sparks filled the air and a bulkhead collapsed from the ceiling crushing consoles, officers screamed diving for cover. Electrical fires burned from exposed wiring while everyone tried to put out the flames and do their jobs at the same time. Commander Val planted her hands on the center holographic projection table and lifted herself up, her face dirty as she blew her hair from her eyes. "Damage report!" "Main fusion reactor has be knocked out of alignment, we are loosing power!" An officer called back. The CIC rocked once again as Val looked over to Admiral Grey in her command chair looking equally ragged. "There's just one left! Fleet wide this is Admiral Grey actual, converge on final target and engage!" Commander Val pointed to an officer. "Divert auxiliary generators to the remaining active beam gun batteries!"

The last of the giant Space Breeders drifted still on coarse for the twinkling blue dot in the vast distance as it laid down an omnidirectional burst of plasma bolts striking several ships, one burning destroyer keeled over and exploded in several powerful explosions. Weapons fire concentrated from all fields rained down on the would be threat to a world as Gemini battle suits flew together across it's vast body firing into whatever weak spot they can spot. The Sol Invictus rotated it's beam gun turrets and fired, the baby blue beams lanced through space and burned through the rear of the Space Breeder. The giant creature tilted up as it was engulfed in a series of explosions and bursts of freezing blue blood.

As the silent scream of pain echoes across the vastness of space, Legion looked up, her face healing and antenna skyward. "...no..." Legion's face turned furious and advanced on Beta. "no..NO!" Legion hammered down with her fist, blocked by Beta's shield but sending the red armored Sabre Scout to the ground sideways with a cry. Legion continued her attack on the others, fuelled by an anger that made her more dangerous. "We will not loose to the likes of you! Your small, your pathetic." "Need a replacement please!" Beta called over her comms as she stretched out her arm, the armor opened and ejected itself from her body as a beam of light came down replacing it with working shield emitters. Delta watched this then looked over at Legion hammering on Alpha and Epsilon trying to hold their own against the insect queen.

In the Sabre Scout operator room Ms. Ying continued to work away at her controls watching the fight. The floating screens showing what the girls were seeing themselves getting thrown around in a futile fight against an enemy that will not die. Other screens showing the deteriorating conditions of the MAX suits, damaged systems and compromised armor plating, subsystems shutting down, to say nothing of the physical harm being inflicted on the suit wearers. Detailed scans of the Sabre Scout's bodies lighting up with damaged regions, cracked bones, and tissue damage. The Professor nervously tapped his heel on the polished floor listening to the painful sounds of the girls fighting valiantly. Ms. Ying turned in her chair. "This isn't working. We are running out of spare parts to send and Legion's ability to regenerate and stay in the fight far outstrips our own."

The Professor tried to steal precious seconds for himself to think when suddenly. "Ms. Ying, is the Professor there?" The voluptuous panda turned to face her console again. "Yes Delta, he's here." "I think I have an idea, but you guys need to do something first." Once again Ms. Ying turned to the Professor. The older cat stood. "What are you thinking young lady?"

Legion grabbed Alpha by her armored collar and threw her over her shoulder into the ground. "You will fall, it is inevitable!" "Girls! I got a plan, you need to distract her and give me an opening. We can still win if we do this as a team." The Sabre Scouts heard Delta in their ears. "You heard the lady, we do this together!" Alpha stood. "Attack!" The blue armored red head lunged and sliced with her beam blade only to be back handed in the head. Epsilon came from behind. "Get some!" Legion took a blast of the penetrator needles to the face and chest as she turned, she returned the favour by giving the purple armored lioness a swift and powerful kick making her cry out and another sending her, back first into a standing rock. Beta jumped onto Legion back, the insect queen's bladed legs swiped at her but she was too small, like an itch on a hard to reach place. Legion lunged backward sailing into a broken wall crushing Beta between her and the object. Legion pulled the needles from her face to let herself heal. "Pathetic."

Delta fired her jets and jumped into the air just as Legion turned to face her, as the adrenaline pumped it all seemed to happen in slow motion. Delta falling onto her target a hand on her armored collar and Legion bringing her bladed legs to bare on the green armored Sabre Scout, ready to let her impale herself. Alpha breathed heavily as she ran up on Legion. "Rrraaaahhh!" Alpha lifted her arm and ignited her beam blade slicing through Legion's bladed legs severing them. Legion cried out and threw her head back as Delta landed on her driving her into the ground with a boom. Legion struck Delta in the head with a one two punch and threw the Sabre Scout off of her. Delta hit the ground hard with a groan and Alpha ran over to help her. "What did you do?" "Look." Alpha looked back at the rising Legion who was now wearing the MAX suit armored collar over her shoulders. "You single minded simpletons don't have the unity, the cohesion to defeat us!" Delta stood in Alpha's arms. "Wrong! NOW, DO IT NOW!"

Back at the operator's room Ms. Ying and the Professor worked their busy fingers across glowing keys. "Disconnecting matter stream safety protocols." The Professor looked over to the panda and nodded. "Initializing MAX suit retrieval program." Legion grasped the armor placed around her shoulders. "What is this!?" Suddenly a beam of light shined down on her and she could feel herself getting lighter. "WHAT!?" Legion tried to lunge at the Sabre Scouts with her clawed hands only to dematerialize before them, the matter stream shooting up into the sky. The Professor leaned over the voluptuous panda watching the screens. "Disconnect the power at three hundred and fifty kilometres, just fifty below Sky Vault." Ms. Ying keyed in the commands.

In orbit above the earth the teleport beam ended and the once vibrant and loud din of battle was replaced with silence. Legion drifted in space with the vast planet called earth below her. Her earlier momentum transferred to where she is now and she careened into space. A look of fury was on her face as she silently screamed, her many eyes boil. Subjected to the extremes of light and shadow her body burns and freezes at the same time. Legion tumbled through the nothingness being drawing by the gravity well of the earth, she picked up speed and as she sank she started to burn. The heat from the friction was all encompassing as her flying body resembled a shooting fireball of falling debris, Her limbs burned away, unable to fight the great cosmic forces against her. On a distant corner of the earth if one were to look up they could see a shoot star lance across the night sky, a mere moment in time, and gone.

Back at the battlefield the Breeders wiggled their antenna in a searching manner and as a whole started to look more confused, the clarity and faultless coordination was gone and the giant insects reverted back to their instincts. Some still fighting while others fleeing, the once unrelenting waves subsided and the defiant bulwarks of defence shattered. Chief Anderson climbed a hill seeing this change in behaviour and looked back to her men. "They're breaking! Fight on!" She raised her assault rifle into the air. "FIGHT ON!" A great uproar came from the Hyper City Security Force officers as they surged forward guns firing, grenades thrown. The mecha suits lead the way carving through the now routed enemies, beams slicing through a large tanker as it collapses dead on the battlefield. The Security Force aircraft seeing great choke points forming from the fleeing Breeder army unleashed their missiles as explosions devastated their ranks in such close quarters.

On a distant hill four lone figures stood watching the great rout take place, armor battered, hunched and holding each other they watched, for them, they decided the battle was over. "How the hell did you of all people come up with that?" Beta looked over at the green armored Sabre Scout in Alpha's arms. "Eh...I'm not as dumb you girls think I am yeah know!." Epsilon hunched over with hands on her armored knees. "Can we go home now?" Alpha smiled at her team. "Good job girls, drinks are on me." Back at the operator's room Ms. Ying and the Professor relaxed raggedly in their chairs. "I can't believe that worked!" Ms. Ying took the time to light a cigarette looking distraught. Tears rolling down her cheeks as her hands trembled. "For a moment, I thought....I was going to watch them die." The Professor smiled. "I had faith all along, we chose these girls for a reason." Ms. Ying just nodded and sucked in her poisonous form of relaxation. "Fuck I need a drink..."

Weeks later.

Hyper City, still to this day the greatest city-state on earth and once again earned that place. Abuzz with life and once again the cheerful easy going lifestyles of the great metropolis rose to the surface. The streets and skies filled with vehicles and sidewalks choked with people going about their day, working, shopping and playing. A large holo-screen played the award ceremony of Admiral Grey, Commander Val and the other valiant notables of the Space task force, that risked life and limb to safe guard the planet from a Breeder Invasion. The stalwart defenders from the Hyper City Security Force were equally lavished and adorned with ribbons and medals to honor their bravery and sacrifices in the face of annihilation. Brave heroes, every last one of them.

In a beautiful park filled with trees and flower beds a lone figure sits on a bench and a voluptuous woman standing nearby. The Professor looked out across a pond and watched the various birds going about their business. He pondered if they understood what had happened, did they care about such things? Just then his thoughts were interrupted. "Professor!" The old cat looked over seeing Steven Fairchild walking with a single cane. "Look at you...." The cat smiled. "Yeah! All thanks to you sir." Steven sat on the bench next to him. The Professor took a moment and looked over at him. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry about your sister, it wasn't meant to go down like that." Steven nodded but then smiled. "It's alright, I know you did your best, and I will always remember her for who she really was. Besides what could your philanthropy group have done in all that mess. We are all just flawed people caught in the cosmic winds." The Professor nodded and looked back to the birds. "Maybe they have the right idea, maybe we think to much. We do have an unhealthy illusion of control. But....." Steven leaned back and rubbed his knee. "But we know, we know happiness and sadness, our selves and our place in the universe. We can't unlearn that, we can't go back..." The professor nodded. "Only forward, and hope we survive the journey." The two cats, youth and age reflecting each others thoughts.

The Professor took a deep breath. "Well then, what do you intend to do once your treatments are finished?" The younger cat looked out at the pond and watched the birds and their blissful ignorance. "I think I'm going to go to medical school, I.....I want to finish what my sister started. To help others that aren't as lucky as myself." The Professor looked back at Ms. Ying who was standing there minding her own business then back to Steven. "Really?" Steven nodded and returned the look. "Something....I mean SOMETHING good has to come from all of this." The Professor thought for a moment and nodded. "Very well, I wish you luck in this, and I look forward to the good that could come from your work."

Steven Fairchild smiled and leaned back seeing Ms. Ying on her comm device. "Where are the other girls? I would love to thank them for everything they have done." The Professor smiled and leaned back with him. "Oh I sent them on a much needed vacation."

Out in the middle of one of Hyper City's pristine beach front lakes for recreation, a large yacht anchored in the middle of the crystal blue waters. The sounds of music could be heard from it's decks and the sizzle of foods on an open air grill. Nina Anderson in the slimmest of bikinis smiled through her sunglasses as she held a spatula, watching the slabs of real meat and lobster tails cook on the barbeque. A mostly naked Chel leaned forward in a black bikini tilting her own sunglasses down her nose, her large breasts jiggling. "Say, How come your here and not with your mom getting ribbons and medals and hot celebrity comm numbers?" Nina smiled and poked at the food. "I decided I don't care about that anymore, I'm with the people I wanna be with and they know how awesome I am." Chel narrowed her eyes. "Awesomely got your ass kicked..." Nina's brow twitched in irritation locking eyes with the red head. "You said I was cool!" "Only cause you were feeling sorry for yourself, now your head is all big." Nina nodded and pursed her lips. "....Alright then...."

Chel smirked. "Don't forget the S and P there." Nina waved her away. "I know how to cook steaks, go have a drink!" Chel nodded. "That's why your using a spatula instead of tongs right?" Nina stood up straight and locked eyes with the red head. "Who asked you CHELSY!?." She said putting emphasis on her full name which only increased the ire of the horned fox. "Don't fuck up my steak Nina! I will slap you!" Nina maintained eye contact with Chel as she slowly shovelled a steak off the grill and slowly, tauntingly flipped it over making a loud sizzle. "You wanna get slapped!" Chel repeated the threat.

Out on the deck a bikini clad Trixi held a drink in her hand listening to the two by the grill fight. "Uh those two again." Lynn wearing nothing but a thong pressing her big tits against the warm wood as she lay in the sun. Her feet in the air behind her. "Hehehe, we should get proper drunk and fuck under the stars." Trixi looked shocked. "Is that all you think about!?" Lynn smiled. "Only when I'm having fun!" Trixi sat down on the deck next to her. "Your always having fun." Lynn rested her chin on her folded arms. "Mmhmm!" Trixi took another sip. "We could invite that boat of guys we passed earlier, they were pretty happy to see a boat load of babes." Lynn smiled and the girls laughed together.

"Eeeeee!" "Hehehehehehe!" Nina ran down the deck with a spatula in one hand and cloth in the other. Chel quickly followed topless her big tits bouncing. "Nina! Get back here and cook my meat!" Chel chased Nina to the front of the boat just to throw Chel's bikini top overboard. The horned redhead made it to the rail her big tits hanging over the side. "Aaaaahhh! That was expensive!" The bikini top fluttered in the wind as the artificial sun slowly started to dip into a beautiful golden hour behind the shimmering glass monoliths of Hyper City.

"...Ah, you bitch...."
