Life Long Friends: chapter 1
My name is Steven, but my friends just call me Steve, I live in the North Eastern part of the United States in a state by the name Connecticut. I am here to tell you of the day that changed my life.
I woke up on a morning like most others, just the same old routine of taking my morning shower to work out the knots in my hair my the previous nights restless sleep, eat my breakfast which consisted of just a bowl of cereal, and go to another boring day of high school.
As I stretched my stiff muscles I noticed that my house is silent, where it's usually bustling with the sounds of my little brother and sister running through the hallways awaiting their breakfast.
After a few moments of adjusting to the silence I remembered that my family (my mother, father and siblings) went to Florida for some time off. I take a glance at the clock resting on my dresser near my bedroom window and as I read the time aloud, which was 6:00 a.m. I looked out the window I stare out into the darkness, as it is December here.
I break out of my trance and make my way to the bathroom in no hurry what so ever as I have an hour and a half till I had to be at school. I casually walk into the bathroom and look into the mirror above the sink. I appear to be rather plain looking wolf with no special coloring or anything, I stand at a nice 6 feet and way 150 lbs. which by no means is to bad looking. You can obviously tell that I don't work out but I have some muscle from the work out unit in gym and from playing soccer previous years.
I turn away form the mirror and head for the shower, turn the dial to turn the water on and wait for the water to get to a reasonable temperature. As I wait for the shower to heat up I start to strip. I only have to remove my boxers since that's all that I sleep in at times. I slowly stepped into the shower and let the warm, massaging water to soak through my fur to my skin.
When I finished my shower I took another quick look at the clock and read the time out load to myself "6:45 a.m.
"I must have taken longer then I thought," I spoke to myself.
I went downstairs and made myself breakfast that was just as plain and everything else.
Out of myself chewing I faintly heard vibrating and quickly dashed upstairs to answer my cell phone as quickly as possible. I got there out of breath and picked up the phone and read the name on the screen. (Tyler)
Steve: *panting* hello
Tyler: hey, you alright
Steve: yea I'm all right what's up
Tyler: are you ready
Steve: for what
Tyler: im picking you up, remember
Steve: oh damn, that right ill be ready in two minutes
Tyler: good im almost there
Steve, Tyler: *simultaneously* bye
As I hurried downstairs I almost tripped while rushing down, I quickly chugged the rest of my breakfast and grabbed my bag just as Tyler knocked on the door.
I open the door and see Tyler standing there. Tyler is another wolf that looks just the same as me but for a few distances; he has black on the tip of this ears and his tail, and with these beautiful bright blue eyes that seems to pierce right through you. Tyler has been one of my best friends since we were very young, and I have also had a secret crush on him since we were in the fifth grade. Right now we are in the same homeroom in our sophomore year of high school.
We both said our hellos and walked to his car and quickly got in. Tyler and myself didn't talk much in the car except for the occasional conversation here are there, and in the times of silence I took those chances to get some peeks at the 16 year old sitting not more then two feet away from me. I occasionally blushed when I say him shift slightly and almost caught me gazing at his perfect body. During one of blushing episodes we thought I was looking a little sick and thought I had a fever but I convinced him that I was all right.
As Tyler parked the car in the school parking lot we took our separate paths. Tyler had accounting and I had chemistry, which were at different ends of the school. The next two periods went by painfully slow until we got to homeroom, which Tyler found me with a group of people and we walked to the cafeteria to get some food.
Since I already had breakfast I just sat and watched Tyler as he got his food from the vending machines. I stared at him as he tried to get the machine to take the dollar, just admiring how he moves about and gets so serious over the machine. I heard people coming so I snapped back to reality and walked with Tyler to homeroom.
"Do you want to come over after school and just hang around," Tyler asked as he stuffed his face with a bagel with cream cheese with the cream cheese on the sides of his mouth making him look incredibly cute.
I sat there stunned for a moment or two and said the first thing that came to mind "sure."
The rest of the school day went by uneventful, and all I could think about was what we would do at Tyler's. The final bell finally rang and I rushed to Tyler's car and waited for him to get there. When he arrived he quickly piled into his car and headed to his house.
Again no conversation but still took a few peeks as much as I could in the short time frame.
When the two boys arrived at Tyler's place no one seemed to be home as I looked around his yard for another sign of life.
We quickly entered the house and threw out bags to the side so no one would trip on them, and quickly made it to his room.
We played Xbox 360 for hours it seemed and as we were both laying on his bed our tails wagging from the game we were playing and our tails brushed slightly, I blushed while thanking god Tyler didn't see me blush.
After an hour of playing Tyler Paused the game and we both got up and stretched our sore and stiff muscles looking at him as he did so.
"You hungry," Tyler asked as he cracked his back.
"Yea I guess," I said with a slight smile on my face.
We order some Chinese food from the place in town and began to devour it as the meal arrives.
After we finish stuffing our faces we retire back to Tyler's room to finish playing our game.
Another half an hour passed and Tyler pauses the game with no warning, sat up and looked straight at me. After a few moments I got really uncomfortable and sat up and asked what was bothering him.
"Steve I have to tell you something that has been really bothering me lately, but I don't know how to say it. I guess...um...well you see I really like you and have for awhile now." Tyler said with a bit of fear and embarrassment in his voice.
I stayed silent for a moment or two to process the situation at hand. "My dream has finally come true," Steve thought to himself.
"I'll understand if you just leave now," Tyler said with fear really apparent now and tears starting to come out.
"Now why would I ever do that Ty, we've been friends for far to long for something like that to come between us, and I have a crush on you also," Steve said with a sort of happy tone.
The two boys look at each other and slowly close in to where their mussels and no more then an inch apart and Tyler starts to close the gap even farther and...
