Ears: large, multi-function ears similar in structure from a Terran mouse, Terran feline, to a Terran rabbit, but made of plant-like petal in makeup.

Fur: Full body; ranging in consistency from soft moss, to wild grass - typically found in the entire colour spectrum.

Eyes: bio-luminescent; also found in the entire colour spectrum, but appear closer to white as they glow.

Appearance

Bodily Structure: The most striking detail about this anthropomorphic species is that they are half-mammal and half-plant, and this is very much driven home by the fact that all nokuri have some form of a floral growth from their head. This can range from any type of flower found on their planet or off, or any arrangement of petals or leaves. They do not have hair, but instead what appears to be an arrangement of vines, varying in length anywhere from shoulder length to down to their buttocks.

Nokuri have the standard bipedal bodily configuration, a vertically oriented torso mounted atop a single pair of legs, topped with a single head with two arms at the topmost end of the torso. Their arms are human-like, but each ending in a four-fingered hand. Legs strike a resemblance to a giant feline, with powerfully developed thigh and calf muscles, and clawed paw-like feet.

Seated above their buttocks is a long, powerful dragon-like tail that slims from base to end, before a bulbous portion can be located that many have come to call a tail-maw. This "maw" consists of five lobes, that are covered in their fur on the outside, and flesh-lined on the inside. This maw has a connected canal that leads into the body. Facial structure: As an anthropomorphic species, nokuri faces are a weird blend of human traits and a bestial muzzle. Nose and mouth vary in length: from a short, fundamentally rabbit-like snout, to that of a young fawn. The muscles however, are strong enough to pull off all manner of human-like facial expressions - smiling, pouting, frowning, smirking, kissing, etc. The nokuri seem to have evolved from some form of omnivore, but the carnivorous characteristics of their tooth structure is fairly prominent. Incisors are more pointed, and canines are prominent. There is a gap between their canines, and molars, as they have almost snake-like fangs that swing forwards when their mouth is fully open.

Nokuri also have horn growth from the back of their skull like a dragon would, but they come in a range of styles and designs. Those same horn growths can be found on their face and sometimes along their muzzle, appearing more like scaling. They usually form around their brows, and above their cheekbones, crowning around their eyes.

As stated above, nokuri ears come in a few orientations. First is almost satellite, mouse-like in structure. Second could be confused between feline, canine or almost deer-like in structure. Third most common are almost rabbit-like in structure, and are always "lop-eared" in appearance.

Skin & Fur: A nokuri's entire body is covered in either a layer of smooth, soft moss; or smooth, fine fur. The exception is around the lips, nipples, and sexual organs. This pelt isn't especially dense normally, as nokuri evolved in warm environments; but does respond to cold conditions by growing dense and thicker in an effort to help preserve warmth. Nokuri in colder climates are found to have thicker and lusher fur, and tend to have darker, cooler colourization in their pelt - browns, greens and blues, etc - but are offset by warmer climate nokuri with light, or even bright colours (creams, oranges, reds, etc). It is uncommon to find nokuri from colder climates to have bright colours, and warm climates to have cooler colours.

Head Flower: The flowers and petals found on nokuri heads are seen to be of any specimen that is and isn't known to man. They also vary in colour, from tropical bright, to muted colours. They are also respond to cold conditions like a nokuri's fur by 'budding' up to retain heat as one's pelt would. This process is rather quick, as opposed to one's response with their fur, as their flowers are much more reactive to the atmosphere.

Sexual Organs & Erogenous Zones: Nokuri have a fairly standard array of sexual features for humanoids: two nipples, a vaginal orifice, anal orifice; the combination expected for the gender. The nipples are positioned int he "normal" place for humanoids, and grow into permanent breasts at puberty. The unusual traits for nokuri however are somewhat numerous. The nipples engorge during stimulation, causing the areolae to bulge out to give a puffy appearance, and in many occasions the nipple elongates a few centimetres to take on a "teat" appearance.

A nokuri's vagina consists of a single vaginal orifice, but is almost "V" shaped in appearance, consisting of two clitoral hoods, with a clitoris in each. Due to this, the vaginal orifice is naturally gape, and consistently moist, sometimes to a point where it's prominent enough to be noticed in public. The tail-maw present on a nokuri's tail has a canal that leads up into the body with it's orifice, and is otherwise as sensitive as the vaginal, and anal orifice. The tail orifice is also consistently moist, and also sometimes as prominent as their vaginal orifice.

Breast size is affected in two ways. First being excessive sunlight, as it is tied to their energy gain and diet. (See Extra Features.) The second is affected by how many offspring have been produced; upon reaching breeding age, most nokuri range from large A-cups to small C-cups upon puberty, though proportions as massive as FF-cups have been reported from dedicated brood-mothers, the Queen-mother, and the Empress of the Nokuri people.

Environs Typically Inhabited

Nokuri are native to their forest world of of Nokea. That said, they tend to be most comfortable in planets rich with plant-life, close to tropical as possible. Planets with lush jungles, and damp atmospheres are preferred, but it isn't uncommon to find the kui in climates that are arid, frigid, or urban-like in setting.

Reproduction

Though nokuri can - and do - mate all year round, they only become receptive to pregnancy twice annually during their heat-sessions. Occurring roughly every six months, and one to two weeks, it is during this time that the nokuri can conceive, with a caveat. A nokuri must be pollinated during this time for their body to be able to be receptive to pregnancy at it's fullest. Once these conditions are met, it is at this time that females can conceive and have the hormonal desire to do so. It is not common that conception can happen outside of this heat cycle, but it is not out of the question. (Pollination can be induce heat.)

Conception doesn't quite occur how one would expect, as it is not quite 'typical' at all. Originally it was believed that it was female who was doing the penetrating were the only individual to become pregnant during their mating sessions, but it was discovered later that both parties involved were possible. Nokuri use their chlorophyll to grow a penis to participate in these sessions, and do produce a sap-like ejaculate, but in a more 'typical' consistency. They are quite productive; almost litres at a time, and copulation can be quite messy.

This ejaculate floods the receiving party, and fully envelopes the 'male', and that ejaculate is absorbed into the body of both parties. At this point, the 'female' has the higher chance of conceiving, but as stated before, it's not uncommon for the 'male' to become pregnant as well. A nokuri will produce one seed per pregnancy, and carry it to term over twelve months, upon which she lays the seed - similar to laying an egg - and then carries that seed with her tail until she's ready to plant them in her garden, which she prepares for residing around until her young-ling sprouts. (Duchesses carry for twenty-four months, and the Queen-mother is rumoured to carry for sixty months!)

Saplings breastfeed until their flowers sprout, of which happens around the age of fifteen - sometimes as late as 20 - when they are able to photosynthesize and produce chlorophyll on their own. Nursing mothers run the risk of leaking milk constantly due to the length of time they need to breastfeed, until they need to no longer. Nokuri appear mature around the 'typical' age of sixteen, but are unable to conceive till they reach the age of one hundred fifty. That is when they are considered old enough to take on adult responsibilities.

Culture

Nokian culture functions in somewhat of a hive mind. All the nokuri are tied to the planet and each other, and with enough focus can contact others be it they are on the other side of the planet or not. They are also naturist in principle, as little to no clothing is usually observed in their society, as to encourage photosynthesis. Clothing is necessary for certain jobs and tasks of course, but otherwise it is not necessary. Ambassadors to other species and otherworldly beings who visit dress a certain way, but it still leans towards the customs of the people of Nokea.

There are some inhabitants of Nokea that are a little more modest, but it doesn't bother the nokuri; they understand that not everyone joins them in their lifestyle. They find the reactions to their lifestyle from other-worldly visitors to be entertaining and charming, and usualy thinks nothing of it. They are - however - not as savage as to say, copulate publicly out in the street, be it in front of their own people or visitors; they do have common decency.

Other Notes

Nokuri, being part plant, can very much survive on only sunlight; it is in fact, their main diet and source of nutrition. Their photosynthesis of sunlight is through their head-flower, and funnily enough their breasts. Thus both are left exposed to sunlight whenever it is in need. Their second method of nutrition is of course, eating. Their diet varies like any other species, and will not normally turn away any food offered to them by other species unless it's known to have adverse effects. A nokuri can survive on a diet of food and the like, but will still need to supplement their diet with healthy doses of sunlight occasionally. The third method of the nokuri gaining nutrition is to straight up leech it from the surrounding vegetation. It is the quickest source of nutrition, but also the shortest lived - as it is more a shot of energy than anything. When in dire states of malnutrition, one can leech nutrients from the surrounding plant-life to sustain one's self, but they cannot survive with this alone. Leeching also leaves the nokuri pretty vulnerable; it is also rather lewd looking to outsiders, as one leeching from the earth is usually entwined with roots and vines from surrounding plants; around, and sometimes "in" the nokuri to gain sustenance as quickly as possible.

Nokuri have the ability to not only create chlorophyll as a result of the sun that they crave, they can manifest it physically. In fact, this physical manifestation of chlorophyll is used in everyday life, from extra limbs to inanimate constructs to assist with their work or life throughout the day. It would seem that they are able to produce the perfect amount of chlorophyll that they would need to use within the day. If by some happenstance that a nokuri is unable to use all of the energy they get from photosynthesis, it effects their body; increasing their bust size as a sign that they are still laden with fuel from the day that needs to be exhausted. (This is usually taken care of through sexual means.)

As with trees, nokuri are very much adept at converting CO2 into oxygen. They make for good travelling parties in numbers when travelling in space, as they are usually immune to atmospheres that could otherwise kill other carbon based organisms. Being able to purify the air in small areas make them fairly popular across the galaxy.

Nokuri have a natural floral fragrance that is entwined with pheromones that they secrete naturally. It is these pheromones that is used on visitors to make it so that they can understand their language without years of linguistics training. The individual nokuri can control how much of these said pheromones any visitor is exposed to, in turn the length of time they can understand the nokuri for. In turn, Nokuri speak Nokian, and Galactic Basic (common), but only when they want to.
