Hello everyone! This here is a simple doccument on what Kanova is, my secondary setting that is within the Darkwolf Empire. As such, you'll likely be seeing a lot of related content on this site! They're quite an evil group of foxes, able to commit some of the most downright heinous experiments. If there's a terrible way to die, chances are that Kanova has experimented on some poor sap with that method, in some way and in some place. They wish to further their own medical knowledge, no matter how much it is at the expense of dozens of others.

Kanova Medical Research, also known as Kanova Biomed, is a large medical research corporation that is contracted by the Darkwolf Empire. Perhaps one of the most immoral companies the universe has ever known, Kanova has achieved a reputation that's just as fearsome as the cruel wolves they work for.

[History]

Kanova's roots can be traced all the way back to Frostfall, Homeworld of the Vulpian Confederation of Alighted Clusters. Originally operating under the name of Vulpalia Biofuels and originally one of the most renowned and important groups on the planet, they eventually came under fire for numerous ethics violations.

In an attempt to save his company and it's assets, Blin Zakari, the leading CEO at the time. Would enter an off-world contract with the early Darkwolf Empire. With a handful of shuttles, he and his most loyal staff took their funds, equipment and facilities with them and leaving only a few empty sites behind. Soon, with the permission of Emperor Limathar, they were allowed to move their facilities to Draconis, the homeworld of the Wolvan and secure themselves a place. In addition, they were also loaned several research vessels and military assets, which are commonly used for their own nefarious goals.

[Actions]

Unlike their relatively passive role on Frostfall, Kanova was ordered to begin work on several massive projects for the Empire, including the dreaded Warblade Program and several lesser projects to brainwash and otherwise subdue any subjugated population.

Kanova also draws from Darkwolf Prisons and Detainment Facilities, using their unfortunate victims as medical test subjects, a vast majority of whom are mutilated, dissected, and otherwise experimented on in a brutal manner. Unfortunate specimens have their personal information and other details erased, forever ensuring that they are nothing more than mere ghosts.

For others, dozens of transformations take place, either as simple tests or to better fit their unwilling role. This form of slavery isn't uncommon within the walls of Kanova, and frequently, anthros are usually forcefully turned into nothing more than mere cogs and pawns for the massive company. Some staff are offered special masks, providing a similar effect, though this is typically done in a far more enjoyable manner.

Externally however, Kanova typically makes a lot of credits through the production of medical equipment and by investing in civilian medical facilities. Though at times these can be under the mercy of internal programs, as individuals are sometimes detained through the use of these locations, and occasional orders of supplies are not met if they're required for one of many biological projects. Furthermore, individuals stated to be disappeared are sometimes harvested for their organs for use in civilians or lab projects. Due to this, Kanova's PR division is typically used to suppress what would normally cause instantaneous outcry, ensuring success despite their otherwise shady nature.

[Specimen Processing]

The experiences of an inducted specimen are quite horrid to say the least. New specimens undergo surgical procedures to implement a tracker into their spine, in addition, this device can emit an electrical current, allowing for a specimen to be made permanently mute, deaf, blind, or in some cases, even braindead. Alternatively they can merely influence hormones and other thought patterns to make them completely obedient and unwilling to rebel, sometimes even erasing a good portion of their mind through slow purging and cleansing of the brain.

Once mental processing is complete, specimens are processed into one of two groups, depending on physical health. The most able-bodied are typically processed into a transformed unit, while others are either turned into blind wolves, or merely used as medical test subjects.
