Special Performance
Mobotropolis was in an uproar since it was the performing concert of Mina Mongoose and her band "The Forget Me Knots" but the bad news was that Mina had gotten the flu and there was the fear of cancelling the show but then it came to her. She sent a message to Fang asking him to perform for her, with Tamatis help they were off to the stadium where the whole city awaited in anticipation.
Tamati peeked out of the stage corner to see the huge crowd and grew a little nervous since he never performed in front of an audience this big while Fang calmly checked his guitar. Tamati was in charge of singing the song with Fang as backup, one of the stage hands walked up on stage as the crowd began to quiet down.
"Attention ladies and gentlemen. due to an unfortunate incident Mina will NOT be performing tonight (crowd begins to boo the stage hand) HOWEVER! standing in for her are two heroes of the galactic federation and I believe you know them well....Presenting Tamati and Fang OF THE STARFOX TEAM!!!"
As the crowd began to cheer Fang started off as he played his guitar with the drummer following the beat as Tamati readied himself when it came for the first part of the lyrics.
Tamati: "Beyond the boundaries of you cities lights....stand the heroes for your cries...so many times you did not bring this on yourself, when that moment finally comes...i'll be there to help."
Fang:"And on that day...when you need your brothers and sisters to care...I'LL BE RIGHT HERE!!"
Both:"CITIZEN SOLDIERS! HOLDING THE LIGHT FOR THE ONES THAT WE GUIDE FROM THE DARK OF DESPAIR! STANDING ON GUARD FOR THE ONES THAT WE SHELTER! WE'LL ALWAYS BE READY! CAUSE WE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE!"
Fang:"When there're are people crying in the streets....when they're starving for a meal to eat."
Tamati:"When they simply need a place to make their beds...right here underneath my wing...you can rest your head."
Fang:"And on that day...when you need your brothers and sisters to care...I'LL BE RIGHT HERE!!"
Both:"CITIZEN SOLDIERS! HOLDING THE LIGHT FOR THE ONES THAT GUIDE FROM THE DARK OF DESPAIR! STANDING ON GUARD FOR THE ONES THAT WE SHELTER! WE'LL ALWAYS BE READY! CAUSE WE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE!!"
In the musical break the whole crowd was hypnotized for the song had true meaning and remembered that as long as if someone is willing to stand up for their home and freedom then it can never be truly taken away while on stage the song reminded Fang and Tamati of all the hardships they went through to earn their freedom and that of their homeworlds.
Tamati:"Hope and pray...that you never need me but rest assured I will not let you down."
Fang:"I walk beside you but you may not see me, the strongest among you may not wear a crown!"
That part of they lyrics reminded them all that they can't always rely on their leaders to solve their problems, that their are times when you have to face your obstacles alone and as the song neared it's end Tamati took the microphone from its stand to go upstage to the crowd with his hair wild and free in the evening air.
Tamati:"On that day when you need your brothers and sisters to care...I'LL BE RIGHT HERE!!"
Fang:"On that day when you don't have the strength for the burden you bear...I'LL BE RIGHT HERE!!"
Both:"CITIZEN SOLDIERS! HOLDING THE LIGHT FOR THE ONES THAT WE GUIDE FROM THE DARK OF DESPAIR! STANDING ON GUARD FOR THE ONES THAT WE SHELTER! WE'LL ALWAYS BE READY! CAUSE WE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE!!"
With the ending of the song Tamti blew a kiss to the crowd while Fang raised his guitar as if it were his newest weapon while roses were thrown on stage and the cheers grew even louder as the band bowed in unison before heading off stage.
