One Fateful Night..
#1 of Revenge
As the bell rang, Shadow rose his head, it had been such a long and boring school day. He hated school; the teachers, the students, everything about school he hated with a deep burning passion.
However, their was one reason he even went to school and that was to spend time with maria, his girlfriend. He remember a time before he ever met maria, a cold and lonely time. She was the only light in his ever dark life. They planned to get married and start a family right after high school.
As shadow walked down the halls, holding his textbook in one hand, his bookbag slung over his shoulder, his dusty orange fur neatly placed, As he saw maria he shouted.
"Hey maria!" she was a vixen and a cute one at that, as maria turned and waved. A few of the jocks of the school, who regular mocked, picked on and tormented shadow laughed "Hey maria.." they said in a mocking tone of voice, shadow flattened his ears and let out a soft low growl.
Then out of the group of jocks came Dave, one of the stars of the football team. A tall and somewhat muscular deer, As the male went to maria, struting and with a playful grin on his face "Hey there maria, wow your looking good today,.. How about you and me go out sometime? Get yourself a real man." Maria then slapped the deer across the face.
"Oh you have some fight in you, I like that...alot." Then shadow came forth "Leave her alone you brainless meat headed jock!" then dave turned and gripped shadow by the shirt, as dave slammed shadow into the locker he yelled "Oh yea, and what if I don't?! what then bitch!" Shadow growled "Let...me..the fuck go..." Dave released his grip and grinned "Come on guys, let's leave the two losers alone.."
As the jocks left, maria went to shadow. "You okay hun?" shadow got up and dusted his shirt off, sighing he looked at her "Yea.." Maria gripped shadows hand softly "Come on, it's the end of the day, how about we go home and then later we go to the football game." Shadow nodded and smiled "Yea, Do some homework and then go to the game, sounds like fun.."
As they left school, and walked home. It was quiet, and silent. Shadow opened the door to his house. As he looked around he put down his bookbag, the shotgun mounted on the wall, his parents had a liscense to have it and they had bullets with it. Near the wall stood a baseball bat, usually they would use it when they wanted to play an ol' game of baseball.
"Come on, let's get this homework out of the way." said maria, Shadow smiled to her and then went to his book bag, opening it and then taking out the homework papers, which were pretty much ripped and shredded, Maria's eyes widened "W-What did you do...?" Shadow turned and blushed abit "what, I got bored.... I think the homework is off.." As they laughed, maria spoke "So...what are we going to do for the next, hour and a half?"
"I honestly don't know..." admitted shadow, as maria turned and looked around "Why did your parents ever get that shotgun....?" but before she knew it, shadow wrapped his arms around her lower stomach and lifted her up, As she realized she was up in the air, she let out a "Wah~!" and then shadow dropped her onto the couch and smirked.
"Okay shadow, good one but...now im abit dizzy...." Shadow smiled "It can't be that bad..".
The two spent the time until the game, playing games, cuddling and relaxing with one another, Shadow would be lost if he lost maria, she was everything to him and vice versa, the time went by and maria spoke as shadow held her "Baby... it's time for the football game.." Shadow looked down to her and nodded with a smile on his face.
As they got ready, they were soon out the door, it was nighttime, the stars and the moon out, it wasen't to cold nor to hot, the perfect temp. Shadow got a bad feeling about this night but he dismissed it, he usually got a bad feeling whnever the jocks were around, as they got to the school.
The kickoff started, Maria and Shadow both grabbed a seat in the stands and watched the game unfold before them. The home team usually lost against the away team, they were rivals. However as the game came close to an end. Shadow was abit surprized when the home team won..
The two left and shadow spoke "Wow, didn't think they would win.. So you want me to walk you home baby?" Maria gripped his arm "Of course I want you to, what kind of question is that?.." Shadow smiled and held his girlfriend closely, the road was dark and silent, they were near the forest of the town. However as they walked and nuzzled.
Car lights could be seen in the distance behind them, getting larger and larger. Then as the car slowed down, it skid and stopped right next to Maria and Shadow, "What the fuck?" Said shadow. As the car doors opened, it was holding a few of the football players, one of them were dave, "H-Hey look.... it's the loser couple..." said dave, his voice abit stranger then usual.
Shadow sighed "Fuck their drunk..." As the other teammates laughed at what dave said, maria pulled shadow abit "Baby, let's get out of here...." Then dave grinned and reached out, gripping the shoulder of the vixen, as Shadow snarled at dave, Dave threw his fist and hit shadow right in the temple, forcing him to stumble, two of the defensive linemen grabbed shadow and restrained him.
Shadow snarled out "Maria! Run!" but before maria could escape, dave had ahold of her "B-baby, w-where...you going..?" dav had one eye lid twitching as he held the vixen's neck, Maria growled out "Let go!!" and as she struggled, she twisted, and dave made the wrong movement and a snap was heard, as dave let go, Maria fell to the ground.
She laid there motionless, Shadow just stared at her. One of the football members spoke "Dave....you broke her neck....she's dead...." As the linemen let go of shadow, he fell to his knees, just staring at the dead body of the one he loved. Dave looked at his teammates "L-Let's get out of here.." As they got back into the car, they drove off into the night.
Shadow crawled to maria and looked at her, her eyes were open, as was her mouth. Her shirt was abit mesed up and she just laid there. Shadow put his paw on maria's cheek, It was cold. A tear rolled down shadows cheek and then dropped to the ground, his future wife was right before him, dead. Everything he cared for was infront of him, dead on the ground.. The football team had took the only thing he ever loved and got out of bed to see... Inside of his mind, he thought.
'n-no....she can't be dead....she just can't be dead......fuck she is...she's dead....t-they took everything from me...a-and now this, I can't go to the police...they won't believe me, one word against 5 others.... d-dave...M-mark.....C-casey....C-carl....G-gabriel....they d-did this....'
As his eye twitched, he grabbed a piece of his clothing and moved over, closing maria's eyes and then as he moved her over to the side, away from the road. He kissed the top of her forehead and got up, tears streaming down his face as thoughts ran in his mind, he began to walk home, once again all alone, in his mind thinking about all of this, he snapped and the only things that were in his thoughts were
'Kill....Kill....Kill...'
