Chapter 2
As the bounty hunter walked along the trail he began to wonder why there was so little information on his target. The only information he had was that the bounty was a B-rank target with 3 million gold coin rewards and used a katana. There was a falcon boy who was from a town that was destroyed by his target that gave him some information that was actually useful.
"If you're going after this monster you better be able to shoot an arrow as swift as lightning or else you will be dead in a second. It looks like a wolf with eyes as red as a demon yet fur as black as death. His body will smell of blood so heavy you would mistake him for a walking sea of the life fluid," said the boy with a scared tone.
"and you know this all because you were flying in the sky," he said as he looked up from his small paper to question the boy further only to find him gone without a trace,"... What the hell is going on? First the clan of wolves known as the as the shining moon clan disappear, then this village murdering mystery man, and now ghost kids."
As he walked on down an old forest trail he threw a rock and heard something grunt in pain. The bounty hunter looked in the direction of the grunt with his broad sword ready. A second later a hooded man came out from behind a bush with one hand inside his cloak and the other holding the rock in a black fury paw.
"Did you throw this," asked the hooded man in a calm tone.
"Yes, I'm sorry for that," apologized the bounty hunter as he bowed deeply, "if I had known someone was there I wouldn't have thrown that rock."
"Well at least there are some decent foxes in this world," said the man as he dropped the rock while noting the foxes features. He was red with the usual white muzzle and chest but his back was a light brown. He wore leather leggings and a hunter's vest that exposed his chest which was covered with small scares and claw marks from animals, mostly large ones from the looks of it and was about as tall as the hooded man. The fox carried a broad sword that looked as if it had seen a fair share of fights.
"That's a small but widely misunderstood stereotype, most of us are actually very honest," replied the bounty hunter with a chuckle. The bounty hunter could only note small things about the hooded man. He was about 5 foot 6 and seemed unarmed and because of the cloak everything on him was hidden as well as his face.
"Where are you going," asked the hooded man in a calm but firm voice.
"I'm after a mass murderer that kills entire towns in one night if you can tell me anything about him it would-" the fox began but was cut off by the man.
"You should turn back while you can because you wouldn't even get the chance to even draw that heavy sword before he killed you," said the man in a menacing voice that frightened the fox.
But the fox then replied "my name is Caim and I am a top bounty hunter and it is my job to kill people that have bounties on there heads, so even if this guy is some kind of monster I will kill him." As Caim finished his seemingly rehearsed speech the man remained calm. After a minute of silence the man pulled back his cloak and showed his face.
"My name is Judo I'm one of the two surviving members of the shining moon clan and take my word for it YOU CAN'T WIN AGAINST HIM!!!" stated the wolf now revealed as Judo. As he looked Caim in his hazel eyes with his grey eyes, "and besides if anyone is going to kill the wolf I once called brother it's going to be me. Do you understand you pup." judo finished with anger in his voice. Caim was so surprised by how much Judo's tone had changed that he actually took five steps back.
In a few seconds they both could smell blood and a lot of it. Almost immediately judo dashed toward the smell with Caim close behind with his sword drawn and ready for the fight to come. As they neared the source of the blood Judo drew out his sword almost out of nowhere and Caim could hear an evil and menacing laugh growing louder the closer they came. After a minute of running Judo and Caim came to a clearing that was filled with the remains of a group of human merchants and a lone figure standing in the middle of the bloody mess and suddenly the laughing stopped. Slowly the figure turned around and as he turned Caim saw that the places that weren't covered in blood from the waist up was black fur and Caim knew that this wolf was his target. The one thing he didn't expect was to see his target had the same face as Judo.
"Ahhhhh Judo how nice it is to see you. Are you doing well? I do hope you haven't done anything so reckless that it almost killed you, after all you are a crazy idiot," said Kain in an evil and sinister voice that made Caim shudder and shake with fear.
It wasn't that Caim hadn't faced crazed killers before, in fact he killed some that did even more crazed things, but something about Kain just made every rational piece of his mind scream to run as fast as he could. As Kain licked the blood from his sword he walked slowly towards them and Judo walked towards Kain.
"What's wrong judo are you still mad at me for stealing that chicken leg, just let it go that was 3 months ago." at this judo said nothing so Kain continued to say, "oh dear brother we shouldn't fight like this after all we are the last of our clan which was cheated out of life thanks to these so called superior hunters," he said as he kicked one of the human corpses in the face.
"You are not my brother," Judo said in a cold almost angry voice, "my brother would never do something like this. YOU are nothing but a demon in my brother's body and I'm here to kill you and end this once and for all." As Judo finished he raised his blade and got into his battle stance and all the once fearless warrior Caim could do was watch in horror as the two prepared for a fight to the death.
