Unlikely Companion chap. 9: The Plan for 2.
Nick rushed up out of his chair and headed for Will, and when he did, Trey got out of his seat and held him back before he could reach him.
"Why do you always have to cause trouble for me wherever I go?!" Trey shouted while then driving Nick to the ground and pinning him down.
Nick struggled to get up as he set his cold blooded eyes on his ex-friend, then at Chad. "You don't understand, I-"
"Your going to get your ass handed to you if you don't leave whoever it is you were planning on attacking, alone." Trey said while pinning him down harder.
Nick continued to struggle, then gave up when he realized he couldn't beat his brother, again. Once Nick seemed calm, Trey released his hold on his little brother and looked over where his gaze was blazing at.
Trey then walked over to Chad and Will and looked at both of them for a minute.
"Sorry about my brother's behavior, he really doesn't go that ballistic unless he really doesn't like someone." Trey then took another hard look at Will then searched through his memory since he could have sworn he met him before.
"Wait a second, I remember you. You're Will, Kayla's little brother right?" Trey asked as he saw some features that reminded him of Kayla.
Will nodded slowly as he remembered that Trey had dated Kayla for a little while a few years back. Ever since the first day he lied his eyes on the guy, Will never liked Trey. He had a hell of a good reason to after that one day...

*3 years ago*
Kayla and Will had been dating for a few months now, and their 4 month anniversary was coming up. Trey wanted to take Kayla somewhere a little special so he figured he'd take her out for ice cream. He went to go order the ice cream while Kayla went to pick out a table. Kayla started to text one of her friends as Trey started to order, more than what Kayla would have liked.
Trey was sweet talking the girl who was working behind the counter and he even gave her a bit of affection. Kayla didn't see any of this, but when she looked up, she saw Trey leaving the counter with the girl having an uncomfortably large smile. Kayla started becoming paranoid, and confronted Trey about it.
"What were you doing with that girl?" Kayla asked as she stood up and looked at Trey.
"I was just trying to convince her to give me this coupon." Trey assured as he gave her a "2 for 1$" coupon.
Kayla sighed, but then her heart tore when she saw something on his neck, something that looked like a sore.
"...What the hell is that on your neck?" Kayla asked sharply while staring at the slightly uncovered mark on Trey's neck.
Trey's eyes started to bulge as he felt the mark. "Look Kayla I can explain. I-"
"You've been cheating on me haven't you!? With that tramp behind the counter over there!?" Kayla shouted.
"No Kayla it's just-" Trey tried to explain but was cut off by Kayla.
"Just nothing! We're done you asshole! Go have fun with that slut over there, hope you get AIDS from her." Kayla said as she slapped Trey across the face hard, then stormed out the building.
Kayla then came home to her empty house and ran to her room. She collapsed on her bed and started crying into her pillow. Chad was in his bedroom when he heard Kayla slam her door, then went to go check on her.
Kayla let him in and explained the whole story to Will, which was when he stopped tolerating Trey, and started hating him.

"So... how has Kayla been?" Trey asked shyly, while looking a little guilty, but Will wasn't buying it. There were so many things Will would have loved to say, but with all his friends around, and that he didn't want to start something, he kept his cool.
'She's doing fine." Will said while giving Trey a slight glare. There was a moment of silence as Trey wished he would be able to let Will speak more about Kayla, but new it was pointless.
"Well Nick, we'd better get going." He told his brother while walking over to Nichole and saying goodbye to her. Will kept his eyes on the reptiles and never let them out of his sight until they left the parking lot. On the way out, Nick glared back at Will and flashed his thumb and slid if over his throat, telling Will that he's dead to him. Will retaliated by flipping the bird off at Nick.
Chad looked over at Will and saw that his eyes were burning with hate and anger. Chad then lowered his ears and took a couple steps away from him.
Nala was somewhat speechless through all that happened and watched Nichole as she went in the back of the café. Chad then perked his ears up as he heard someone shout "really?!" loudly out in surprise. He looked back and saw Jake, wide eyed, and blushing lightly with Melanie having a happy smile on her face.
Melanie then got a small piece of paper and started writing something down on it. She gave it to Jake and smiled warmly which made Jake wag his tail quickly.
"S-So, I guess I'll see you tonight Melanie." Jake said while waving to her and going back to the three of them.
"So you've got yourself a date I see." Nala said while twitching one of her ears. Jake nodded and swayed his tail around slowly.
"Yeah, and I owe it all to you guys, thanks you so much."
Chad smiled then put one of his paws on Jake's head. "You should be thanking Nala, she had all the info."
Jake turned his head and looked at Nala and smiled warmly. "Thanks Nala."
Nala smiled back at the little cheetah and hugged him. "You're welcome Jake."
Will still had not said anything, and Chad started to get a little worried. "Are you alright Will?"
Will didn't answer for a few seconds, but when he did, his voice was somewhat cold. "I need to go home now, sorry guys?"
"Why?" Nala asked while tilting her head slightly.
"Family matters." Was all Will said before he left the café and started to leave. Chad, Nala, and Jake all looked at each other and wondered what might have happened that made Will like this. They then figured they'd let him sort this out and not to get involved at the moment.

Back at Will's house, Will came through the front door and heard sounds coming from the living room. He found Kayla lying on one the sofa watching TV. He just stood there staring at her for a minute, until Kayla turned around and saw Will.
Will then walked into the living room and sat down on the other couch and looked at Kayla who was looking back at Will with a bit of worry.
"Kayla, I've got some bad news." Will said while leaning forward and putting his elbows on his knees. Kayla twitched her ears and sat upright and stared into Will's eyes, and not liking what she saw.
"What is it?" Kayla asked while becoming a bit worried.
"It's Trey. He's back now."
Kayla took a small pause and turned off the TV. "You didn't do anything?"
"I figured you'd want to handle him." Will said teasingly. "So do you have anything in store for him?"
Kayla smirked widely and grinned evilly. "I've had 3 years to think up of something. Next time you see him, tell him that I would like to 'hook up' with him, and I'll take it all from there."
"Sounds pretty evil. So what are you going to do?" Will asked as he tried to get inside this.
"Sorry, but I can't let anyone in on this. This plan needs to be perfectly executed without any possible interference." Kayla mentioned as she got up off the sofa and headed up to her room to make her arrangements.
Once she was out of hearing range, Will sighed softly. "She took that better than I thought. I never knew Kayla would be a person who would hold a grudge though."
Will then perked his ears up as he thought he heard menacing laughter, but he figured it was just something other than her sister.

Chad and Nala were back over at her house, sitting together on the couch surfing through channels.
"You think Jake will be okay on his first date?" Nala asked while staring at the constantly changing screen.
"He should be fine. What makes you think it could go wrong?" Chad said while shutting off the TV since they couldn't find anything to watch.
"I don't know, he was just really shy and reserved. I think it might be more comfortable if we set up a double date with him." Nala said while looking over at Chad.
"And by 'we' you mean us be the other pair?" Chad asked.
Nala nodded and swayed her tail. "Come on, it will be fun. Besides, we haven't even gone out on a date yet."
Chad really didn't feel like going out tonight but he figured it would be pointless trying to argue. "Alright, just call Jake up and let him know."
Nala then dialed Jake's number and told him the game plan. Jake then called Melanie, told her the idea who liked it, and it all retraced back to Chad who decided to start getting ready for the date.

I know it's a little short, but I wanted to focus solely on Jake's double date. I promise the next chapter will be a lot longer and more interesting. ^^"
