Chapter 4: A Game and a Bet

It had been 2 weeks since Haru and I went on our first date and things were better than ever. Haru was officially my girlfriend and we were always together, like two halves of one person, and I was happier than I had ever been in my life. I had found the perfect girl for me and I'm pretty sure she thought I was the perfect guy.

It was a Saturday morning and I was sleeping like usual, even though it was almost 1 in the afternoon, when a loud banging on my door awoke me from a halfway decent dream about robots fighting ninjas. I rubbed my eyes while I sat up then put on my glasses.

"Soma, get up!" My mom hollered as I sat there in bed. "There's a cute wolf at the door asking for you! I think she said her name was Haru!"

I started to panic and get dressed as fast as I could; Haru was at my door waiting for me!! I didn't even think she knew where my house was!! Shade must have told her!!

"I'll be there in a minute Mom!" I yelled back as I decided to kick shade's ass later "I just have to put a shirt on!"

Finally I stumbled out my door and walked downstairs to find Haru sitting on the couch in a cute button-up shirt that showed off her chest and some nice jeans talking to my father. I stood there as she got up and walked over to me.

"Hey there sleepyhead, didn't think you slept in so late" She said with a chuckle

"I usually don't, but I was up kinda late last night babe" I said as I hugged her

"Gaming again?" She said as she looked at me with a look of suspicion "Even I don't play that much Soma"

"So are you going to introduce us Son?" Said my dad somewhat annoyed as he sat in his recliner.

"Um.... yea, I almost forgot" I said nervously "Mom, Dad, this is my girlfriend Haru"

"It's very nice to meet you" Haru said as she chimed in "Soma's told me a lot about you two"

"Well she's polite, I'll give you that Son" My father replied, chuckling softly

"It's a delight to have you here Haru" My mother said in her most pleasant voice, "We were wondering when our Soma was going to find himself a girl and start getting out a little more"

I looked away shyly as Haru chuckled with a smile on her face

"Soma such a great guy, I'm so glad I met him" She replied and then proceeded to show them the bracelet I bought her "He got this for me on our first date"

"Wow son, you must really like her" my dad said while inspecting the bracelet "This is really nice"

I just smiled and nodded while blushing as my parents asked Haru questions about her life, her parents, her grades, just a normal parent/girlfriend interrogation. After the story of how we first met, and my mother fussing over my now non-existent head injury, my father finally decided to let me have some time with my own girlfriend, I silently thanked him as we walked to my room.

As we stood in front of the door, I remembered one important thing; my room was a total wreck! Well honestly what teenage male's room isn't? She grinned at me as she put her paw on the doorknob.

"It's a wreck isn't it?"

"Um....kinda, never thought I'd ever have you in here today, if I knew I would have picked up a bit" I said chuckling nervously as she opened the door and looked around.

My room is a disaster area, clothes all over the floor, random movie, game, and anime posters all over the wall, and the inside of my closet looks like it was in a earthquake. I barely know where anything is, except for my laptop, my radio, and my gaming setup which consisted of an Xbox 360, a decent sized TV, and a giant collection of games piled all around it in no particular order. It was a nice room, but it was a mess and I hoped it wasn't too bad.

She looked around happily inspecting my games and my music collection before flopping down onto my bed and rolling around on it playfully.

"I like your bed Soma, it's nice and soft, and it smells like you" She smiled as she looked up at me "I could get used to it" She said as she gave me a suggestive wink and laughed

I just stood there blushing not sure how to respond to that statement, I mean I was still trying to get used to the fact that there was a HOT GIRL in my room, and better yet in my bed.

She stood up and kissed me and walked back over to my games, inspecting each one thoroughly, like she was looking for something specific

"Calm down Soma, I know we both aren't ready for that yet, it was a joke" she laughed as she pulled up a game case. "Ah, I knew you had to have this" she giggled as she took out a disc and put it in the Xbox while grabbing a controller and tossing me one. "Soulcaliber 4, my favorite fighting game"

"Mine too" I replied smiling happily. "But you better watch out, I'm really good at this" I said while I sat down on my bed getting ready.

"Oh really?" She said sitting next to me. "Then let's make this interesting, best out of 5, if you win.........I'll let you see me topless."

"And if I lose?" I replied blushing deeply

"You have to take me out to a fancy dinner tomorrow night, and I mean FANCY, suit and tie fancy" She replied with a grin and stuck her hand out "Deal?"

"Deal!" I said as I shook her hand and grinned. There was no way I could lose this, this was my best game, I had practiced for years and was better than all my friends, and she didn't stand a chance.

We started playing, and my theory was proved, I was dominating. I countered every one of her moves like a pro, and my confidence rose through the roof. There was no way I could lose, I was going to get to see my girl topless, besides I would have to spend everything I had saved up the last few months for a fancy dinner date.

But then things changed, and boy did they change quickly. After losing two rounds in a row, she turned to me and grinned, and then the total ass-kicking began. She began to destroy me with perfectly timed expert level combos, never giving me an opening to strike. My confidence which had risen to massive levels was now non-existent as I mashed buttons like a newbie trying to win by any means necessary. She had totally hustled me and I totally fell for it, I thought to myself as I watched my character get knocked out for the third and final time.

"Looks like I win the bet" She said as she turned to me grinning evilly.

"That was totally evil" I replied as I looked into her eyes in disbelief. "But it was totally amazing"

"I'm glad you enjoyed your ass-kicking" she laughed "I'll be glad to teach you how to play if you want"

"Maybe you should, I can't keep losing like that to you" I said laughing as I wrapped my arm around her.

"Well you did, and we're going on that date tomorrow" she replied as she snuggled up to me

"I know, and it'll be wonderful" I smiled as I kissed her softly

The rest of the day progressed in a good way, with Haru and I playing games and joking around on my bed, after awhile we ordered a pizza and had dinner with my parents, where we discussed an amount of different subjects. But finally the day like all good days, had to come to an end.

I was outside my house with Haru as we walked to her bike, holding each other's hand.

"I had an awesome time today" I said as I looked into her beautiful eyes

"So did I" she smiled "I can't wait for our date tomorrow"

"Neither can I" I replied as she got on her bike

"I'll see you tomorrow Soma" she said before kissing me deeply and riding off into the distance waving back at me

I waved back smiling happily, then walked inside with a smile on my face, I loved her more than anything, my parents enjoyed her, and I learned a valuable lesson, never underestimate women, or they will take total advantage of you, but the biggest question I had as I went to bed that night was where the hell was I going to find a suit?........
