The Sins Behind Red Eyes

"Oh sweet Selesti, why do you cry so?" The young man with red eyes and black hair stalked around the dragoness, bound in shackles of Iron and slate, the heart's stone of lesser shadow dragons. The dragoness glared at the man from her bonds with tearfilled and difiant green eyes. She was an amphathere, a dragon with feathered wings, the only limbs on her serpentine body. Her scales were blue and shined with an azure glow, and she had a quill of feathers on her tail, and a main of feathers on her head, all glinting in blue and gold colors. She was curled up, wings close to her sides, bound and helpless to the whims of the man.

The red eyed one took three quick steps, coming up to the dragoness until his face was a few mear inches from her muzzle. He smiled, the corners of his pale mouth streaching, until his full dragon muzzle extened outwards, lips parting in a predetory grin, showing off sharp and daggerlike teeth. His eye began to glow, and his face morphed until his black dragon head became fully formed. The dragoness hissed at him, and tried to back away in fear, but her shackles were too strong. She settled back to glaring at him.

The Shadow dragon leered at her, licking his lips with a long and snakelike tongue. He moved his muzzle so that his lips were right beside the Dragonesses ears. "You know, I haven't seen such deliciouse fear in so long...your kind can be so addicting, so luciouse when submerged in compleat terror." His whispers were like a demon's seductions, sending a shiver through out her entire body. "Don't you agree, Selesti? Why don't I tell you how wonderful it was..." The Dragoness closed her eyes, praying for the whispers to end, but knowing they would never stop.

Screams, the screaming shrieks of Wind Dragons littered the sky, flying in fear around thier emerald caverns, trying to escape the storm of blackness that was slowly enveloping them all. In the center of the black serpents was a great black dragon, terrible and powerful, with glowing red eyes shimmering in excitement at the slaughter. With a great pump of his large onyx wings he soared into the sky, flying above the emerald caverns to which the Wind Dragon's made thier home. He surveyed the scene below him, the screaming and fleeing wind dragons, closely pursued by black serpents, lesser shadow dragons. The Great Dragon smiled, and opened his great maw wide, letting out a streamed of jet black flame onto the caverns.

"Stop it! You monster!" The dragoness weeped at the visions, tears streaming down her blue cheeks. The shadow dragon, now fully morphed, hissed in laughter at her cries. "But dear Selesti..." He said, moving his serpentien neck so that he encircled around the dragoness. He chuckled darkly, his long tongue lightly teasing her main. "I'm just getting to the good part. I'm certain you'll want to know what happens next, what happens to your dear friends and family."

Selesti shut her eyes tight, shouting in her head to block out the images the black dragon created.

The black flames encircled the once green caverns, now turning a sick shade of brown thanks to the intense heat. Those who were trapped inside, the injured, the sickly, the bedridden, and the children, thier screams could be heard by all who graced the skies. The great black dragon flew down and hovered beside his destruction, seemingly pleased with himself. Then a small cry of pain alerted his attention. Out of the black tongues came a wind dragon, still on fire and screaming, but also very much alive.

It turned it's head and with bloody eyes faced the King Shadow dragon, apparently able to sense the prescence of it's killer. it opened it's skeletal maw and hissed out it's last words with it's last breath. "Arakassss, damn you..."

And with that, it succumbed to the flames, becoming nothing but a black corpse falling from the sky.

Selesti turned a heated glare at the dragon who tormented her so. Her bonds bent under the strain she gave them in her attempt to snap at him. "Ah, ah, ah." The black dragon chastised, "Now Selesti, we can't have you breaking our recently made chains, now can we?" He gave her a sharklike grin, showing all of his sharp fangs in the process.

As soon as what he said dawned on her, Selesti faced him with first a horrified look, and then an angry one, spitting a flash of green flame in his direction, only to have it bocked by magical shields around the bars of her cage. "You're dispicable Arakas. Killing your own men!" She screamed as a silver blade quickly slice across her chest scales, making a shallow cut and drawing blood. The dragon, Arakas, tutted her and shook his head, placing his metal 'claws' down onto the ground.

"Tut Tut, Selesti, why is your temper so bold?" Throughout it all his grin still stayed fixed to his face. He leaned in again, close enough to kiss, close enough to bite, but the wind dragoness was too smart to try something like that, no matter how tempting it was. It was especially tempting when Arakas' tongue slid out from his muzzle and flicked her nose. "Now...whear was I?"

And thus the visions resumed...

The other wind dragons screamed a lamentation for thier fallen home and kin. Arakas could have cared less, and as such, he thouroly enjoyed chasing the rest down and slaying them on the spot, but it was getting rather tiresome, and there were still quite a few wind dragons left to slaughter. Mildly concerned over this dilema he called for one of his men, and asked his opinion. The serpent was less help then the screaming wind dragons, so Arakas used one swipe of his silver 'claws' and ended the Wyvern's life. Thankfully, the little act of violence gave the shadow dragon an idea, and he soon called to all his men, serpents and Great serpents alike.

"Gather them all up boys, we're taking this bunch to the castle." Only his smile was all that the Wind dragons had to look forward too, a cold and calloused smile that never reached his eyes, red eyes, full of the promise of pain.

Screams and moans sounded throughout the inner chambers of the Onyx castle. The sounds of rain and thunder lighting up the show of unwilling extacy in a violent atmostphear. Arakas sat in his throne, fully clothed in his youthful human form, a pretty little wind dragoness chained up beside him, forced to watch the scenes of horror and lust before her. She could only stay silent at the quiet laughter coming from the young male voice beside her, tears running down her cheeks, the last lament to her kind. She could only hope that her own little daughter, sent away to learn from a wise old dragon in the ways of scouting, had made it through the slaughter in one peice...

Selesti screamed then, screamed as the visions were thrust from her mind. Another shriek uttered from her lips as a black talon roughly grabbed her muzzle and forced her to peer into Arakas' blood red eyes, eyes that were then filled with hartred. "If your mother hadn't gone and uttered that spell of hers you wouldn't be here...if she hadn't DISOBEYED me then you would still be free in the mountains, still with your wolfling firefly frolicing about on your rocky cliffs. But no, no, she HAD to create that spell on all of us and lock us within this cursed storm for all eternity!" He panted heavily, his anger taking more effort then Selesti would have thought he were capable of devoting. She leaned back unsecessfully, trying in vain to get away from that awful stare.

With a sudden change of mood Arakas grinned his shark grin, and again his tongue slid out to tease along Selesti's maw. "Still...she was quite talented for a snake with wings..." He moved his head closer, almost making a move to kiss the wind dragon, but then he suddenly changed his mind. He frowned, and with one more slash across the dragoness' chest with the silver 'claw', the shadow dragon moved away from the cage, vanishing into the shadows.

Selesti could only relax for a bit, she knew that he would be back again soon...he always came back, and always would, until he found the way to break this curse.

Until he found a way to break her heart, little did he know that it was already broken, albeit, not phisically, like he wanted. She could only let her silent tears fall as she let out once last mental call.
