Aspen and Jake ch.1-First Day of School
"Jake breakfast" My mom shouts from the kitchen.
The intoxicating smell of bacon makes me sit up in my bed. Gazing at my calender i sigh softly
"Great first day of school!"
Normaly i wouldnt mind, but to day was the first day of high school. The worst part was most of my friends either moved or are going to a different school. Only two of my friends are going to the same school with me.
"Jake lets go!" My mom shouted
"I'll be right down" I shouted back with a slight tone in my voice. Rubbing my eyes i get out of bed and slip on my clothes, grabbing my bookbag as i walk down the stairs. As i walk into the kitchen my mom turns to me and asks
"You ready for school?"
sighing softly as i sink into the chair "I suppose so."
"Whats wrong hun" she asked
"I'm nervus, only Aspen and Sky are going to school with me this year"
she turned around and placed her paw on my cheek like every mom dose and said "I'm sure you'll make new friends"
sighing and placing my head in my arms i replyed "I gess so"
Just then the door bell rang. As my mom went to get the door I picked up my bag and threw it over my shoulder. As i walked into the living room i hear a failiur voice behind me.
" Hi there Jake" said the voice.
i stoped dead in my tracks as my heart went in my throat. Turning around nervusly i said "A-Aspen?"
Sure enough, i turn around and standing against the wall is a slim meidum built siberian husky. Aspen has black fur white tipped ears and a white stripe going from the top of his head, down between his eyes and fades into his white muzzle.
"Of course its me, who else would it be?"he said slily with a grin.
"W-What are you doing here?" i asked
"I thought id walk to school with you" he said. Aspen stood up off the wall and walked twords me chukling "You dont mind do you foxy?
Blushing slightly i replied "Not at all"
Aspen gave me a confused look when he saw me blush at the nickname, I my self was confused. Aspen has called me that since fourth grade. Aspen and I do stuff like that because we're like brothers, we've been freinds since birth. Now for some reason, the things we do have a different effect on me. His nick names would make me blush and look away then when ever he grabed me I would blush more and pull away.
"Jake come on we're going to be late!" Aspen said
Snapping out of my trance I reply "Oh, right"
I grabed my bag and said by to my mom then we headed out. As we walked to school Aspen turned to me and said "What happened to you back there, you zoned out?"
I replied "sorry I gess I'm just nervus"
"nervus for what" aspen asked
I turned to him and said "look at me Aspen I'm a five foot, five inch Fennec Fox!" I wasnt exagerating either. I only stand at five-foot five witch is average for my species. Sometimes I wish it wasn't but unlike most of my friends im a pure bread. Pure bread meaning both of my parents and my entire family are Fennec Foxes. Come to think of it, I'm the only pure bread in my group of friends. Aspen is a mixed bread as well. Aspen's mom is a siberian husky and his dad is a timber wolf.
As we get to the school i looked around and my fear incressed! Every fur towered over me. There were even Fennec Foxes that were taller then me because they were mixed breads. Aspen looked at me and saw me shaking. Aspen put his arm around me pulling me close to him he said
"Dont worry foxy, I'll keep you safe"
Viably blushing I said "T-Thanks"
Aspen pushed away when he sees me blush. "Uhhh you ok Jake?"
snapping out of it i said " Yeah, Yeah I'm fine"
Just then the bell rang for home room and we went our seprate ways. Aspen turned and shouted out to me "show me you're schedule after home room!"
i gave aspen a thumbs up and went to my home room.when i got my schedule i look it over to see what it said.
1st period= Gym
2nd period= Math
3rd period= Biology
4th period= History
5th period= Lunch
6th/7th period= English
8th period= World Language
When the bell rang I went out to meet Aspen in the hall and we swaped schedules. My heart sunk when i saw Aspen's schedule. Aspen put the two schedules together and said "Cool, we have all our classes together!"
Aspen turned to me and stuck out his paw and asks "Lab partners?"
I shook his paw and answered with a smile "Partners"
