FINALLY, after the longest delay I've ever dealt with, I'm finally back with another chapter in my story. I'm so sorry I had to keep you waiting but way too much shit went on with me. Without further ado, here's the latest chapter.
Chapter 18: Boss Battle part 2
The wind blew softly at the setting sun. Everything stood still and did not make a sound, not even us. I had gotten my confidence back now that I was reunited with my love, Kimahri. 'We got Kimahri back!' I thought to myself, 'Mission accomplished! Now to take care of these guys so we can go find my brother.' I was eying everyone of us on the field, and saw that our enemies were doing the same. We each stood there still, anticipating for someone to make the first move. The Ronso stood in front of both Honda and me as he made piercing looks at each enemy. He sensed something familiar about each opponent, and it made them more suspicious than they appear.
To him he sensed Biggs and Wedge scents that match those two soldiers that was with... him! Yes, him, that commander who violated him. Then he eyed at Xanirb, and found out shockingly that the scent that the one human who used him for vile, disgusting pleasure, matched the one on the dragon. Kimahri definitely felt angry now if he hadn't earlier, and rushed up to the enemy party. The Ronso kicked the other two lackeys on their sides and jumped to land more kicks to their heads, and send them flying. Instantaneously he prepared a thunder spell as Xanirb did the same thing, and they both casted off the bolts to neutralize each other's.
Honda and I walked up next to the Ronso, ready for our turn to duke it out.
"Get Ready!" Xanirb shouted, and swooped right in front of Kimahri and they duked out with their martial arts combat moves, punching, kicking, and blocking each other in a struggle to land a blow on one another. They both charged for another punch, and hit each other simultaneously. Honda and I had rolled in front of them and started going all out against the two accomplices. I swung my blade while spinning around against Biggs' staff and jumped up for a roundhouse kick to his face, and he was instantly knocked back to the ground. Honda matched the blade of his katana with Wedge's dual knives, barely able to keep up with the abilities of the rest of us on the field. He quickly found an opening and went for a jump kick to the dog's abdomen and knocked him to the ground. We saw Xanirb getting knocked back by zooming past us, but he quickly made an aerial recovery and performed a jump kick to Honda's face, knocking him back.
I attempted to kick him; however, he grabbed my leg and kicked me in the backside, so it sent me flying. Kimahri ran up to the dragon and attempted a butterfly kick, which was easily dodged. The Ronso grunted as he swung his free hand across the ground, casting a path of ice spikes which trailed the dragon. Xanirb jumped across the spikes with relative ease, but he was distracted enough to be left open to take a roundhouse kick to the face from Kimahri. The Ronso grabbed his leg and swung him across, the dragon getting hit by a couple of the ice spires whilst doing so. He swung him towards Biggs who approached him quick enough to collide with the thrown comrade, then Wedge quickly landed a slash to the Ronso's cheek while he was distracted. He grunted as he felt the slashed wound on the side of his face, so he kneeled down and wiped his face with a couple of his fingers, feeling a little bit of blood dripping from there.
'Kimahri! Class Change: Gunner!' I thought to myself, so I changed classes and began shooting again with my twin pistols, combining it with some acrobatic skills to prevent Wedge from causing anymore damage to the readily distracted Ronso, who quickly healed himself with a small spell. I found another opening and gave him another kick to the face, knocking him towards the Ronso, who also kicked him to add to the damage. We saw Honda back flipping towards us as our three opponents have now joined in the melee.
Each of us was facing one of each of the menacing trio, weapons clashing and bullets flying everywhere. Honda and I both had our guns out blazing against Biggs, who deflected the bullets easily with every twirl and swing. He then made a front flip while kicking the ex-marine high into the air. I jumped over the tabby, barely dodging one of the swings to my head, and made a jump for the wall of a pillar that was adjacent to where we were all standing, and jumped on top of Wedge. I grunted as I made a quick roundhouse kick to Biggs' face, and grabbed him by the shoulder while he was distracted from the pain. I got up on top of him and pinned him down with my weight. However, I quickly looked and saw Wedge get back up and was running towards me, so I shot another bullet to his abdomen, knocking him back down.
Kimahri made a back flip as Xanirb was assaulting him and jump kicked at his side to knock him away. I looked as he made a quick kick against me as I was feeling myself flying to the ground violently. Kimahri ran back towards him with his spear in hand, but Biggs got back up and jumped over the dragon to kick him back again. Honda grabbed out his pocket knife and assaulted the dragon in his face with a powerful slash. Biggs gave Honda a good smack to the back of his head with the pole, causing a disturbance to his equilibrium. Kimahri grabbed the tabby and pulled him towards the Ronso, and he began unleashing a devastating combo of kicks against the assailant, starting with two standard kicks, one upward, one downward, two roundhouse kicks, and finally as he roared, unleashed some aerial kicks sending the injured opponent flying like a rag doll. Honda jumped, barely avoiding a fireball from Xanirb's mouth, and he hopped onto the dragon's chest, and kicked him in the face to send him flying. Wedge got back up as it happened and attempted to throw a fireball of his own, but the marine saw it coming and dodge rolled to avoid it, while making contact with the landing dragon. He put a boot leg up and a pistol towards him. Xanirb saw in fear as he was shot and kicked upwards, with the bullet giving an extra push towards the sky. Wedge ran towards Honda, attempting a vertical slash against him, but he quickly rolled backwards just in time to avoid the blow. 'Class Change: Grappler', I thought as my outfit changed to the appropriate class once again. I quickly ran to Honda's aid and jumped on top of him, performing an acrobatic twirl of kicks to the dog's face which was followed by an upward kick to send him flying. After that kick I let go of the marine and back flipped back to the ground safely while Kimahri ran and slid back behind us. We saw as the three fighters were helplessly falling towards the line of ground in front of us, and we quickly made the decision to assault them further.
I went to perform another skill which required me to change my class to a Thief, Honda grabbed out a rocket launcher and quickly loaded it with another rocket, but Kimahri however had another idea. He casted another spell; he felt the effects as everything but him slowed to a complete stop in a sense that he just stopped time. The Ronso made a dash for the halted opponents and made a leap towards Biggs, using him as support for another jump as he kicked Xanirb in the face, and jumped from him to deliver a kick to Wedge's back as well as a double fisted punch to his head. Kimahri jumped back down and released the spells effects, starting the flow of time again back to it's normal speed.
"Poison Edge!" I leaped Towards Biggs and slashed him once in his torso with a twin dagger, leaving a purplish mark for a cut, and kicked him back towards the others as they collided with each other and landed hard on the ground. Just before it, Kimahri made an upwards slash with his spear against the three, knocking them backwards again. I lept out of the way as Honda made his aim and fired, the rocket blasting the trio at point blank range. Luckily, Kimahri leaped out of the way just in time, and we watched as the smoke was clearing.
The trio had gotten up a lot more slowly, showing signs that they're getting weakened as if for just a little while. Xanirb got up first and his eyes began to glow with a golden yellow hue of light. He attempted to do something, but Biggs put a hand on his shoulder to interrupt him. The dragon looked back at the tabby who nodded at him, then he pushed his hand off his shoulder and began to take off with flight. He flew to the top of the towered battlefield and he drew out his broadsword. He held it in a reverse grip while keeping it a straight vertical position, and with magic he let go with the sword still floating in midair. He then proceeded to make signs with his hands in a martial arts style as if he was chanting a powerful technique. The three of us looked up from above and saw that something horrid will happen if he executes it. I changed my class to Hunter and prepared an arrow for the bow, and Kimahri proceeded to cast one of his spells. The Ronso shot a giant seed from his mouth, aiming directly at the distant dragon, while I shot a straight arrow going for that same target. The effort was futile however as Biggs and Wedge jumped up and blocked them.
Biggs ran towards us while Wedge teleported away. Kimahri jumped over the tabby as he and I ran across the bridge. From afar, Wedge was shooting some fireballs at us; I tried to keep myself covered, but Kimahri also made sure to keep me covered. The dog charged another fireball, and the Ronso jumped over the projectile and tried to kick him. However, he teleported away before the blow could land. I put my foot on his hands and gave me a boost so I jumped up high and reached the ledge. Then I jumped up once more from ledge to ledge. The Ronso looked up from afar as I scaled the semi-tower like sculpture of a warehouse, then something grabbed his back by surprise, followed by a boot. It was Wedge, and he ambused him by jumping over him and held him down to connect with an energy blast. The blast knocked Kimahri afar and he slid towards the ground. He got up and grabbed his spear and matched weapons with Biggs' staff. Lt. Honda ran past the fray with a grappling hook ready to scale the tower quickly to catch up with me.
I was in a hurry of my own, dodging Wedge's projectiles while scaling the walls to interrupt Xanirb's powerful technique. I hurdled toward a platform slightly higher than the others and barely landed it, dodge rolling afterwords to stick my landing. I quickly got up, but not quickly enough as I found myself kicked in the face by the dog's boot, and I helplessly fell from the tower. Kimahri sensed my distress and gave a thrust kick towards Biggs' face, knocking him on the ground hard. He jumped back and held his arms out to catch me, just in time with no interruptions.
Meanwhile, Honda ran up to Wedge and starting to hack away with his katana. They found themselves in midair as the human marine found himself struggling to keep up with Wedge's otherworldly prowess. He proved to be too fast for him and caught him off guard, making quick, phantasmal swipes around him doing serious damage. The attack was followed by another magic projectile, which hit him at point blank range, knocking him out of the tower. Then he quickly realised that someone went past him and made a desparate teleportation to catch up to him. Kimahri scaled the walls quickly with force until he was right with Xanirb, who's nearly complete with his conjuring of the skill. The Ronso proceeded to punch him, but Wedge caught it barely in time with his face. The dog teleported both of them back to ground level as he was launched forward by the Ronso's powerful punch. We looked up in terror as we saw that his transition was complete, and the dragon chuckled.
"This is it!" He shouted and he was glowing with an unearthly red aura. He grabbed his broadsword, and held it high with the tip of the blade pointed to the ground. "HELL'S JUDGEMENT!" He stabbed the sword to the ground, and a major explosion was collapsing the tower. Wedge teleported himself and Biggs away from the blast radius before it came near them.
"Run!" Honda and I shouted as we ran towards the cliff, trying to avoid the explosion nearing us at rapid speed. We quickly dived off the cliff and nearly avoided the blast and started realising that we were falling from an extremely high cliff.
The three of us were diving towards the cliff that seemed like an eternal fall. I noticed something and looked back. There we saw that Xanirb, Biggs, and Wedge had dived in towards us. We stood our ground, but we were still sliding downwards nearing closer to the pit below. They stood their ground as well, and slid towards us at a quicker pace than us to catch up. They got their weapons ready, and got ours as well. Honda made the first gunshots, aimed directly at Xanirb. Biggs got in the way and blocked with his staff, that he hurled towards him. I knocked it back with my Keyblade and latched myself onto the cliff wall with it, letting go so I was above them. Xanirb though made a cheap shot towards Kimahri, knocking him backwards. The dragon assaulted the Ronso with several punch combos, and decked him one in the face. He charged a lightning spell and Wedge did as well, launching the attack, negating each other's blasts. They looked onward and jump out of our sight. We were puzzled for a little bit, then looked back and saw that some dangerous platform was headed straight for us. We jumped out of the way in time, and everyone was jumping from platform to platform. Blades matched and projectiles thrown at each other while I was running down having changed my class into a Grappler. I saw that Wedge was knocked down by Honda, and I proceeded to continue the assault with an uppercut and a heel kick. I grabbed the dog by the armor collar and dragged him downward while running, bashing his head into many of the pillars until I slammed him onto a platform made from one of the destroyed rock pillars.
Kimahri and Xanirb leaped from platform to platform until they met each other once more, standing still while the falling platform was spinning. They fought fiercely with martial arts punches and kicks. The Ronso jumped over the dragon and wrapped his arms from behind. Like a wrestler in the ring, he knocked him down with a supplex, catching the dragon in between the platform. He backflipped and grabbed the edge of the platform, and tossed himself upward with immense strength. The platform spinned until Xanirb was face forward towards him. Kimahri blasted him directly with a huge flarring fireball, then followed it by casting a black ball, catching the blazing rocks and the dragon with a gravitational pull and condensed them all together until the ball matched the size of a softball. Finally he finished the assault with a pulse of bluish green light, and he let it all explode, causing the dragon bounce off the cliff wall painfully.
Meanwhile I matched the keyblade with Biggs' weapon, and I parried away forcing myself upward. Kimahri got back into the playing field, but the tabby knocked him away and Wedge gave him a horizontal slash to his torso, knocking him towards the wall. The Ronso's feet were firmly planted and Honda and I joined him shortly afterword. He held two fingers pointed to his forehead, and a giant magic clock appeared. The hands appeared to be spinning increasingly fast and we each had an orange glow surround us until we finally sped down towards them with three times the speed we normally ran.
I changed my class into the thief and ran even faster with my twin daggers in hand. I was the first to go on our hasted assault, catching Biggs off guard as I swiped him in every direction with rapid succession. Finally, I finished with a jump kick towards his face. Honda grabbed his machine guns and rapidly fired with rapid fire against Wedge, who was barely dodging them. The marine jumped off of the wall and went guns blazing everywhere he could possibly be. The effort paid off as Wedge cried in pain as he was falling helplessly. Kimahri tried stabbing Xanirb repeatedly, but it was parried. Then he tried kicking him lightning fast, with no succession. The Ronso finally jumped up and with all three adversaries targeted, he blasted them with a nova sized explosion, causing the entire earth to shake just a bit. Soon the three motionless warriors were falling down with the three of us following suit, but someone was watching from the distance. The unknown warrior jumped down from the mountain wall and struck his weapon towards the cliff wall with a powerful thrust. The force caused us to jump from the wall and we were helplessly falling as well. Kimahri got us together and conjured up a blue magic barrier to cover us as we fell to the trench below.
The earth was shaking as black rocks were falling down to the lava river below. A big rock platform landed with a big splash which was caused by the three of us, still protected from Kimahri's magic barrier. The barrier disappeared and he grunted as he tiredly fell down.
Kimahri? I grabbed him in time and held him up, supporting his muscled arm with my shoulders. I noticed that he was fatigued, and felt too weak to keep fighting. I knew I had to help him somehow, but with what? I didn't know where anything was that could help him, and I looked at Honda to find that he was preoccupied with something, just up ahead. It was Xanirb's party, who landed on the platform that we were in, but this time they appeared to have another ally on their side. It was a tall brown bull with sharp, curved red horns and a big gold nose ring. He held on his hands a giant axe that was slightly taller than his own height, which was tall on his own, and it was sharper than even his own horns which looked like it can skewer any normal human being witin a second of contact. Like the others, he two wore the same voilet armor as the others, but the hue was slightly lighter.
"About time you got here, Garzcon." Xanirb smirked. "It's time we need to exterminate some people over there." He pointed at us, and Garzcon snorted and charged at us with berserking rage. Honda ran on ahead before I could reach out my hand to call him. Then I remembered something and quickly checked my pockets, and surprisingly enough, some of Kimahri's own pockets. We found a few potions of different varieties. Blue bottles, green bottles, pink bottles, and even a black round one with the word 'Tonic' eched in it. We desperately tried to find which ones would work best for Kimahri's condition while Honda was left to fight for himself against Xanirb's full team.
He sidestepped away from a powerful hammered swing from Garzcon's axe, then he jumped up and caught the handle as the bull pulled it out and swung it upward. He twilled around the weapon, and kicked Wedge away him as he swung up off it. But Biggs caught him with a jump kick and sent him hurdling towards us. He caught me by the sides with the sheer force causing me to drop some of the potions to the ground, and letting go of Kimahri forcing him to drop to his knees. I tried to get them back, but couldn't to avoid getting chopped in half by Garzcon's titan sized axe. I backflipped just in time and shot a fireball towards him. The fire spell was to no avail and the bull hit the Ronso hard, knocking him to the ground. I grabbed the keyblade and proceeded to tackle the berserker like a quarterback from an american football team. I grabbed two of the potions closest to me, but Wedge closed in on me, and found myself swerving for my life, desperately grasping onto the items like someone grasping a kite against a powerful storm. He found me unguarded and caught me in an upward kick, then jumped and kicked me downwards, slamming my back hard on the ground and the potions came flying off my hands. Honda ran and grabbed one, and leaped high to grab the other, but they were once again let go when Xanirb tackled him down.
Kimahri finally got up and grabbed the items for himself. Wedge went to swipe him, but the Ronso ducked and only one of the potions was sliced in half. He grabbed the bottom half of the empty bottle and slammed it on the dog's forehead. The glass shattered on his face and it hindered his vision. He proceeded to do a roundhouse kick to knock him backward. Biggs slammed his pole downward, but Kimahri evaded and kicked him away. He was about to drink the potion, but was interrupted by Garzcon. The bull made a few swings with his axe, then lunged at him with another. The Ronso blocked the shot, but slid backwards for a bit, and he finally guzzled down the potions. As he gulped them down, he found his strength and magic energy returning. Xanirb's party charged at him with full force, but the ronso was ready after wiping his mouth. He grabbed his spear and took everyone on, mixing martial arts and spear skills with magic varying from fire and lightning. He even snuck a few ice punches towards Wedge, and knocked him back with a seed cannon. In the middle of the fray though, he was caught off guard, and Garzcon and Xanirb knocked him off the platform. He desperately went to cast a spell to delay his immenent landing in the lava, but I got up in a different class, grabbed my pistol, and shot a bullet at the magic circle, launching him towards the safety of the wall.
He was extremely grateful for that and rushed towards the wall. The Ronso ran back to the lava with great speed, and ran across it with skipping rocks on a pond. His feet built up fire as he back towards the battlefield, and performed a double jump kick at Garzcon's face, knocking him to the ground with pain. Honda got me up and I recollected my equillibrium, but our moment of rest was short lived as we saw that we were headed towards a lava fall. Honda ran for something to save us, while I was about to cast a spell, but Xanirb knocked me back. Kimahri lunged toward me to catch me in time as the rock platform collided with a pillar in between the fall, and we found ourselves falling down towards the lava. The Ronso kept me close, not ever letting go as we all braced ourselves for the end. But when we landed, we felt something solid catch us, and it wasn't burning. We looked and it appeared to be some sort of an arena surrounded by pillars of rock. We looked on and saw Xanirb's party once again appear to attack us again. But Kimahri though couldn't take it anymore, and made a loud, mighty roar followed by blowing a grayish breath against the rivaling party. They were all caught in the clouded haze and each one gasped, and it was followed by silence. Then it all cleared and it was obvious: The group was turned to stone. That wasn't the end of it though. Biggs', Wedge's, and Garzcon's statues had started to crack, and it all built up until they all shattered, leaving nothing but dust in the wind. Xanirb's statue though remained.
I breathed sighs of relief to find that the hard battle that was fought was finally over. I ran up to Kimahri and we finally embraced each other after all the horrid days of forceful separation, it was finally over, and I started crying.
"Kimahri, I finally found you. After all this time of searching, I finally found you." The Ronso held me tight throughout the whole embrace, and he gave me a romantic kiss. It was something that I had never felt before for days, and it was heart warming.
"Eric. Kimahri never forget you. Everyday Kimahri dealt with bad people, Kimahri miss Eric gentle heart, and that is not a lie. We Ronso swear upon it." I smiled greatly and held each other tightly. The usually stoic Ronso now smiled warmly, feeling glad that the beast was reunited with his mate. I looked back and remember Joe Honda, who looked beyond us with a friendly aura.
"Oh yeah." I remembered. "When I was imprisoned, I made a new companion." I nodded him to come forth, so I could make the proper introductions to each of the warriors. "Lt. Joe Honda, meet Kimahri Ronso. Kimahri, meet Joe Honda, an ex-United States Marine." They nodded and shook hands, then he looked at me questioningly.
"Just what the hell was all that?" He asked. "And above all, where the hell are we?" Those were good questions. Who were those guys, and where did they come from? None of that mattered now considering that I now have a moment of rest. I can be happy to say that we can now go search for Ryan with the firepower of Joe Honda, and the guardianship of Kimahri Ronso.
"Eric." Said Kimahri. "You've grown stronger, but are still a pup." I giggled a bit from that compliment and smiled once more.
"Thanks. I'm just glad it's all over." Then something was suddenly shouted, and we look out in surprise.
"Oh really! You think so, YOU HORNLESS FREAK!"
