A Most Dangerous Game (9/10)

A group of criminals finds a means to potentially hijack the sensitive data of one of the most popular games in the world, but requires another team working inside the game in order to pull it off. can these two teams come together and get what they want, or will this spell disaster for one or both of them?

This was an interesting little experiment where I took a fantasy setting and a sci-fi setting and sort of blended them together so that it was sort of like two stories being told at the same time with alternating chapters. Enjoy! Characters belong to their respective owners, will get a list when it's not 4am.

Mai and San'nauk continued to wait in the mainframe room, their new friends needing to go back to the security station in case there were any more problems, when suddenly her computer began to beep. "Well that is certainly unexpected," she stated as they looked at the screen to see that it was remote linking to another terminal in order to gain access. "But whatever they're doing in the game looks like it's working. In fact it's bypassing the security all together."

"Finally," San'nauk replied with a huff. "It's been fun walking around on two legs but I would like to be a naga again."

Mai just gave him a small grin and then began to work on using the new access to patch her way through. While the server was a goldmine of information there was only one thing that she was really concerned about and she didn't know how much time those in the game would be able to give her access for. A few data mining searches soon revealed the information that she was going for, the master key for the entire game. She couldn't help but close her eyes as she hit the download button, not knowing what sort of hidden security protocols she was about to trip by accessing it.

To her surprise there were no alarm bells, no self-destruct sequence, just the file appearing in her computer after going through the administrator. Once she was sure that she had gotten the entirety of the system key she looked at San'nauk with a gleam in her eye. "We did it..." she said happily, hugging the Symsuit cobra. "We got the key!"

"Fantastic," San'nauk replied with a quick squeeze back before setting her down. "Now let's get out of here so we can actually use it."

"Alright, alright..." Mai continued to smile and went back to her computer, though it quickly turned into a frown as the verification scan stopped and began to flash red. "Wait, what just happened, I already downloaded the file." She tapped into the error log on the screen and what she saw caused her eyes to widen. "Oh no..."

*********************************

"What do you mean you only have half the key?" Zakerst asked as he and Anoni sat in the worn-out couches in their basement hiding place.

"They split the system key in two," Mai replied, her and San'nauk continuing to walk outside the server room while talking. "One half they kept in physical storage and the other half they actually keep as a digital asset inside DREAM. It's quite ingenious if you ask me, anytime they need to update the game they just patch in a hardline from the private server to the part of the game that has the key and they're able to do what they need to do."

"So... that's it?" Anoni interjected. "All this work for nothing?"

"Not quite," Mai explained. "With the download of this half of the key all we have to do is find the asset that has the other half and bring a copy of it to a space that we control in DREAM, that way we can do what they do when they update the game and it'll think that it's Frost Arc initiating it. The only thing is that we're on a ticking clock now, if we don't link the two together soon the part of the key I have is set to self-delete and the only reason it hasn't already is because I keep putting in stoppers to prevent it from happening."

"Alright, so we'll contact the others and tell them to get the asset from the game," Zakerst stated. "Sounds simple enough."

"Maybe not as easy as you think..." Mai replied as she bit her lip. "You see... we don't know where in the game the asset is." The latex snow leopard had to pause as she heard groans from the other two before she could continue on. "But before I got disconnected from the server I managed to find the one in charge of that asset, unfortunately they don't appear to even have a game account with DREAM so Ailsa is going to meet you at his physical address so that you can get the location from him that way while San'nauk and I head back to my apartment to get set up."

"You're the boss," Zakerst said before he got the address and hung up, looking over at the lab mouse and nodding. The two carefully made their way out of the safe house and back into the city streets, using Anoni's van in order to get to where they need to go. Along the way they picked up Ailsa, the stingray informing them that the team is ready as soon as they find a location for them to start looking. When asked if they could start looking now shi told them that looking for a singular asset in a game like that would be like looking for a needle in a barn full of haystacks and that it would be better to find it first before sending them off.

The house they were looking for was actually far off the beaten path, winding up a rather large hill until they could see the twinkling lights of the city down below. It was clearly a place with a lot of money as they passed by mansion after mansion. When they got close to where they needed to go they actually found a nearby park to hide the van, knowing that their vehicle would stick out like a sore thumb if it was in front of one of these places. Fortunately for them the large patch of woods bordered the house they were targeting and they were able to hike up a small overlook that allowed them to see down onto the compound itself.

"That is... quite a bit of security," Ailsa commented as shi put a piece of gum in hir mouth. "Who did you say this house belonged too again?"

"Mai told us who it was, one second..." Zakerst replied as he looked down at the screen of his comm link. "Gregor McFadden?"

"No way..." Ailsa said, the other two looking at hir in question. "He's one of the biggest content creators for DREAM. It was his quests that put the game on the map and he's responsible for overseeing almost all of the new world content in the game! If we weren't robbing him I'd say we should try and get his autograph... although maybe there will be something there that he already signed that I could take?"

"We should probably focus on the task at hand first before thinking about souvenirs," Zakerst commented as he used his alchemically-enhanced bionic eye to scan the place. "Looks like security is pretty tight but mostly of conventional guards, probably thinks if anyone is going to come after him it will be someone with a high-level of hacking experience. If we just wait a few minutes I can get a digital scan of the area complete with guard rotations and then we can maybe get a chance to find a hole in the system."

The other two nodded and waited as Zakerst made a digital map of the area, looking down at the tablet as he fed it directly to Ailsa's tablet. Anoni began to get his alchemical reagents in order while they waited while Ailsa checked hir guns, making putting them back in their holsters once the naga announced that he was ready to guide them. The digital map was both projected on the tablet as well as in Zakerst's mind, complete with avatars for the guards that were milling about, and the three made their way down to the compound as quietly as they could. When they got to the fence the naga was about to use his augmented and robotic arms to pull apart the bars when the lab mouse stopped him and showed him one of his potions.

"I call this spider climb," Anoni said as he sprayed it on all three of them. "Extremely short duration but will let you climb anything. Quick though, like said it wears off quick."

Zakerst just shrugged and began to hoist his heavy body over the fence and was suddenly surprised when he paused half-way through and found himself stuck. As Anoni and Ailsa easily scrambled over themselves the naga found himself letting go and using his serpentine lower body to actually hoist himself over the rest of the way. As he got to the other side however and started down he suddenly felt that grip release and he fell forwards, landing on the ground with a loud thud. Thankfully none of the guards were in the area and they quickly ducked behind one of the topiaries on the property to wait out another set of patrols.

"Told you it didn't last long," Anoni stated before looking at the door to the house. "You think it's unlocked?"

"I think that someone who spends this much on active security probably doesn't worry too much on if he deadbolted his door," Zakerst replied. "We don't have much of a choice though, I only have scans for this side of the house and trying to sneak around to see if there's an easier way in makes things exponentially more difficult. Now we wait and let the guards who are supposed to be walking by in three minutes do so and then make a run for the door."

Approximately three minutes later they watched two guards cross over one another, nodding standing around talking for a bit before moving on. Once they had both crossed over to the other side of the house the three made their way forward, careful not to get in the line of sight of the guard that was also up in a small guard tower near the front entrance. The small carport that they were walking into did have an overhang from the house which helped hide them a little bit as they tried the door, only to find it locked. The stingray told the other two to cover hir as shi took out a set of picks and pushed them into the door, the naga informing hir of the time until the next round of guards come through.

Just as the two standing guard started to get worried there was an audible click and the door opened, the three hurriedly getting inside before closing the door behind them. There was no motion sensors or any security of that nature since the guards that were patrolling would trip them but they could hear the sound of footsteps and people talking further into the house. Unlike those walking the grounds however these appeared to be more stationary, which was sitting in front of the rather large television watching some sort of sports broadcast. It was a welcome distraction but as they attempted to get around the living room they all had to quickly duck inside a nearby closet as another guard quickly came in from the kitchen.

The three were practically on top of one another as Anoni watched from the crack of the door to see if he could figure out what was going on. "The boss is going to kill you guys if he sees you just sitting there like that," the one that recently came in chastised. "Your jobs really worth seeing who's going to the play-offs?"

"Relax," one of the guards on the couch replied, tossing popcorn at him. "He's away at that gaming expo for the next week trying to promote the latest DREAM expansion. Plus we're technically guarding the most expensive thing around here that isn't guarded by his security system in the basement, so chill out and clean up the mess you made unless you want to go down there and peek inside to make sure no rats have gotten in."

As the other guard grumbled while heading back towards the kitchen the three realized they had two major problems at hand. The first was without being able to talk to or otherwise threaten Gregor they wouldn't be able to get the location of the key off of him. Second if what the other guard said was true there was a lot more security protocols that they hadn't counted on. One useful piece of information that they did manage to glean from the conversation was that the area they wanted was in the basement.

Once the coast was clear once again, waiting for the guard to clean up the popcorn that had been thrown at him, they once more made their way through the house until they found the way down into the basement. Just as Zakerst was about to slither his way down the steps however he stopped and immediately backed up, prompting the others to do the same. "I just felt something try to hook into my Symsuit," he explained after they had found a corner bedroom to hide out in. "Whatever security they use for Frost Arc he must also have here."

"Well that's not good," Ailsa stated as shi tried to look down the stairs hirself. "Do you think Mai could do some sort of remote hack on our suits and give us permissions or something?"

"I don't feel like trying to make a call out to see..." Zakerst whispered as he continued to keep his scanner up in case anyone decided to check in on this room. "The second that we're found here we're going to have to abort the mission and we've come too far to stop with just a security door stopping us. Maybe we can get one of the guards to open it for us, though then we have to deal with someone that might try and alert the others or trip an alarm."

"Wait... hold on a second..." Anoni stated as he rummaged around his bag of alchemical supplies before he took out a bright blue vial of thick liquid. "I think... I might have a plan forming here." The other two watched as the alchemist seemed to be working out the details in his mind. "Okay, now technically this is more of a defensive potion that I use in case something powerful is coming towards me and I don't have back-up, but... with these Symsuits and a little finesse we might be able to make this work..."

A few minutes later a guard grumbled as he tossed out the last of the popcorn, the elf muttering to himself. Even though he was technically their superior the meatheads that were in charge of guarding the house often treated him as more of a servant than anything else. "I can't help it if my most powerful muscle is my brain," he grumbled while he took the cleaning supplies and put them back. "I'd let them all hang for it if it wasn't my ass on the line too, maybe should find a company that doesn't pride being a brick wall over someone actually clever."

As the elf continued to complain Zakerst poked his head out from the other hallway, checking to make sure that the coast was clear before ducking back. He looked down at the vial in his hands and though Anoni explained what was going to happen to him he still wasn't sure that he got the physics behind it. When he tried to ask further the lab mouse just told him it was magic and to trust him, then the naga took the vial and slithered forward to find a guard alone. He had hoped that the lone guard was still in the kitchen, and when he saw that his hunch was correct, he breathed a silent sigh of relief that they hadn't joined their friends.

He took the small stopper off the vial and cautiously looked at it, then drank down the contents. The alchemist told him that the second he had taken the potion he was on the clock to get what he needed, the naga silently slithering forward around the kitchen island to cut the guard off from the living room where the others were. As he did he could already feel the contents starting to take effect, his jaw drooping slightly and his body stretching unnaturally as he ducked down and watched. As he grabbed the corner of the marble and readied his body he could see his fingers starting to fuse together while waiting for his opportunity.

The elf guard had been so preoccupied with the self-imposed task of cleaning that he didn't even notice what he was walking into until it was too late; the male fell back onto the kitchen floor as something heavy had been launched towards him and knocked him over. At first he thought it was something that the others had thrown at him, especially as it began to melt around him, but when he got his bearings again he saw the deformed head of a naga looking down at him with its muzzle almost stretching down towards him like it was made of taffy. He attempted to reach for his radio but immediately felt his arms get pinned to his sides, another hand covering his mouth when he tried to scream.

As Zakerst tried to restrain the guard as silently as he could the potion was already starting to make it difficult, his hands were like clay and the more pressure he applied to the hand over the elf's mouth the more it spread over his entire face. It was at this point he realized that he could use such a thing to his advantage, using the mechanics of the Symsuit to take the rubbery appendage and spread completely over the other creature like a hood. His rapidly goopy body was loosing more of its form by the second and all he could do was keep himself over the guard as much as possible. Normally the potion would leave him as a puddle for an hour or so, but as he became nothing more than a multi-hued mass with a humanoid shape within it he hoped that whatever was happening to him also was affecting his Symsuit as well.

As the goo naga lost more control over his form the elf within felt himself able to break free from the hold of the creature, pushing up through the surface with the ooze still clinging to him. It still covered his head though and when he tried to pull it away to cry for help his fingers felt... different. He managed to get enough away from his eyes to see that most of the pale skin of his body had been coated with the thick white and dark blue ooze that had attempted to envelop him. At first he thought that it was trying to kill him, but even though it had completely cut off his means of communication it was still supplying him with oxygen.

As the strange shiny substance continued to bond with his Symsuit the elf was noticing something else above the fear and panic, and that was how powerful he was starting to feel. The parts of him that were completely coated in the substance had started to swell with muscle that would make pro athletes blush, at least they were on his arms and areas of his chest. The parts of his legs that were affected had started to bulk up too, but the shape was much different and where his legs touched together the rubberized flesh had begun to knit until it was hard to tell that he had two separate legs in the first place. Muffled panting came out of his mouth as he began to feel the goo-covered side of his face swell and become disproportionate to his elven features while becoming more serpentine in nature.

The guard was so enraptured with his transformation he hardly noticed the pile of goo that had been continuing to coil around and transform his body was also attempting to move him further away from the living room where all the other guards were. Zakerst found that the elf was no longer struggling the bizarre sensations happening to him, in fact he seemed to be enjoying himself as he got to the bedroom where the others were hiding. By the time he was back and flopped down on the bed most of the elf had disappeared beneath his gooey form, tentacles of the substance keeping the guard gagged while the merging process continued.

"Oh... uh..." Anoni said as he noticed the erection that had formed, a second serpentine cock forming above the first one as the lab mouse blushed slightly. "It appears that the guard struggling isn't going to be as much a problem as we may though, at least from the point of him trying to get away from us. Do you think you can control yourself enough to get the two of you down the stairs to open the door?"

"Not... now..." Zakerst replied, trying not to orgasm as the elf was practically humping his rear against the tentacle of his own goo that had spread him open in order to hasten the process. "Sharing... sensations..." The two found themselves continuing to bond together, though the elf remained separate from the naga from a purely physical standpoint the completely encased creature could feel everything through their conjoined suits... and vice versa. Though Zakerst could have easily have taken control and brought the elf for a ride he sensed something inside of the creature that he played a hunch on.

The stingray and mouse both watched as the scene shifted, going from the two writhing around one another to their movements becoming one. The last of the elf's body disappeared underneath the thick ooze as one of the fully-formed hands began to stroke their twin cocks, a hiss of pleasure escaping from the serpentine snout of the creature. "So powerful..." the goo snake hissed. "I could get used to a body like this, no longer would the others be able to push me around."

"Uh, Zakerst?" Anoni asked, seeing the blank orbs of the creature's eyes looking straight at him. "You in there?"

"He's in here," the voice of Zakerst replied, though it was clear he was not in control of it at the moment as both hands continued to simultaneously stroke those twin cocks. "He said that as long as I go along with your plan he'll let me have this body afterwards for a bit of payback when it comes to my co-workers... don't worry, I won't tell them why you were ah!" His last words were cut off as the two merged creatures orgasmed, their lips sealing together to stifle the moan once more as both Ailsa and Anoni got splattered by the goo. "...here."

"Thanks," the mouse replied as he tried to get the thick goo off of his hands, only to see that it was already starting to spread. "Oh man... not this again."

"What's wrong?" Ailsa asked after cleaning hirself off, hir eyes widening as shi saw that the mouse's hand had already started to droop unnaturally as the black goo had already started to spread up his wrist. "Oh... how bad is that?"

"Not too bad if we can get ahead of it," Anoni replied before looking at Zakerst. "Hey elf, you got anyone you think is dumb enough to be lured over here by himself?"

The elf controlling the goo naga informed Anoni that he just about described everyone on the team, which the mouse quickly told him to get someone over so that he could do to them what Zakerst did to him. An almost evil smile spread on the serpent's face as he went over and, mimicking his own voice as best as possible, called over one of the guards to help him with a security sweep. It was a big risk for the group but Zakerst could feel the sheer ecstasy that the elf was getting from being in control of such a powerful form... which the naga himself was also siphoning a bit of pleasure from being the submissive one. So many times those who look at him think he's naturally the dominant one but while he will fill the role to please another there was nothing quite like being the one controlled as they slithered back so the troll coming into the room couldn't see them.

"You better not be goofing around with me," the troll said angrily as he went past the kitchen and into the bedroom. "They just started the second half and they're tied, if I miss anything because you didn't like the way we treated you than I'm going to personally beat you into a pulp and say that there was a burglary."

The troll didn't have much else to say though because as soon as he stepped into the bedroom the half-melted mouse quickly pounced on him, stretching his gooey form over the troll like a living costume. Unlike Zakerst where his sheer mass beat the elf this time it was the other way around, Anoni's body practically coating the very muscular male like a second skin as he seeped into the Symsuit as well. As soon as the mouse connected mentally with the other male their through the functionality of their suits it wasn't hard to overwhelm the weak-willed creature, rendering him unconscious as he took over his body. Much like the elf with the naga's body he immediately felt a rush of power from the fact that he had suddenly gained several hundred pounds of muscle while he reformed his muzzle over the troll's face while still having their tusks jutting from his mouth.

Just when he thought he had gotten everything taken care of there was a few more seconds where the hulk of a creature attempted to shake the goo mouse off of him, but eventually Anoni was able to settle into the body as his own. The feedback that he got from the Symsuit was incredible; it was like all that strength and power was his own as he ran his hands down the body he covered. With the troll completely out of commission he found himself able to move freely with nothing hindering him, including giving a few flexes in order to show off his new physique. Unfortunately they were still on the clock and since there was no need to coerce this one they were able to continue to move ahead with their plans.

After Anoni made sure that he was in total control of the guard he converted the three made their way back down towards the basement with Zakerst once more leading the charge. The second the elf that was driving his body began to walk down the stairs the two could feel the security system connect with their shared Symsuit. All four of them watched with baited breath as the red light above the steel security door continued to blink, followed by another one in the sequence and another one. Finally it got to the green light that was at the end they practically held their breath as they waited to see if their plan worked or if they were about to make a very hasty exit.

After what felt like an eternity the green light turned on and they heard the sound of hydraulics being shifted away, the door slowly opening to allow them access. "I'm very glad that we decided to go with the quick and stealthy route," Ailsa said once they got to the other side as shi examined the thick steel. "This thing would have taken a day and a half to cut through normally. What could he possibly be hiding here that requires so much security?"

"Probably that," Anoni commented, both Zakerst and Ailsa turning to see what the alchemist was referring to. One side of the wall was completely dominated with a server and all the related hardware for it, and all of it was funneled into a signal immersion rig that the lab mouse had walked up to and touched the viewscreen on. "Looks like DREAM is the only thing installed on it along with the three expansions."

"Three?" Ailsa said as shi went over to have a look as well. "There are only supposed to be two, and I've never heard of one called The Tides of War before... which means this must be the expansion that they're working on!"

"But that doesn't tell us where the key is," Zakerst stated. "All we know is that he works on the expansion and has access to it. It still could literally be anywhere in the system-"

"Of course... it's in the expansion..." Anoni stated, the other two looking at him. "I mean, what better place to store an incredibly important asset in game than a place where no player can access? All they have to do then is open the portal between the expansion and the main game and the two keys will link up with one another."

"Well that's a problem then," Zakerst commented. "If no player can get to the new expansion than how are we going to get to the second half of the key before our half self-destructs?"

There was a moment of pause before the stringray began to type on the touch pad, the three watching as the door to the immersion pod opened. "It looks like he was still logged into the update from here," Ailsa explained as shi climbed in. "If I can just log into my own account through this machine I might get it to put me in the same place where he was with a different avatar. You guys just wait here and make sure that no one comes to disturb me while I'm in there, if we're lucky I should be in and out in about an hour."

The other two nodded and reminded hir that they currently had two guards essentially kidnapped so time was of the essence. Ailsa reassured them that they knew what they were doing and closed the pod door behind hir. Once everything was sealed the two called out and informed Mai of their progress and to get ready to receive the other half of the master key. At this point there was nothing else they could do... it was all down to the other team on whether or not this mission is successful.
