Cleaning the Spring

Every year it was the same. Over the spring, the summer and the autumn months, pilgrims would visit the sacred spring to receive the blessing of the spirits which inhabited it, and in turn the mortals' tangible devotion would feed and strengthen the spirits more than enough for them to give some of their ancient power and wisdom back, with plenty of energy to spare. At the end of each year however, winter would inevitably fall over the mountain and the sacred spring. Snows would fall, and the roads leading up to the spring and its shrine would be cut off from the rest of the land. Thus, the spirits would grow restless. They would feast upon their reserves of energy and remain perfectly healthy, but they would grow bored. And as any guardian of ancient spirits would tell you with a soft chuckle and a weary smile, a bored spirit was almost certainly a mischievous spirit.

That was where Shu came in. The sika deer guarded the shrine built beside the spring year round, and lived upon the mountain with it each and every day without exception. She cleared rocks away when they fell from above. She defended the shrine if mortals grew greedy and thought they could steal away the rocks that had built up around it for millennia, suffused with the shrine and its waters' inherently magical abilities. She watched over the spirits when their portal to this realm, the spring itself was frozen over and abandoned by all other mortals in the winter months, and of course when Spring came, she welcomed them back to this realm in time to prepare the spirits once more, and to allow them to cleanse from their systems whatever mischief they wished to visit on the first mortal body they saw after returning from their long, frigid break from the physical realm.

"Awaken my friends from realms beyond. I sense the first footsteps upon the clear paths below. I sense roots and grasses pushing through earth no longer frozen solid, and life returning to the world around our great mountain. So too must you return, and I welcome you. I offer you my greetings, and I offer you myself, forever your servant, forever your protector."

Shucking off her silken robe, the deer's bountiful, plump figure dipped one hoofed foot into the spring's water. She sighed in relief. Far from being ice cold, it was warm even though no steam rose from its surface. It was heated not by anything natural after all, but by something very much beyond the natural. She stepped into the pure, clean water with both feet, and slowly began to descend the smooth but not the slightest bit slippery steps which descended down into the deepest portion of the spring's pool. Soon she was floating, the upper portion of her breasts just breaking the surface as she gently glided through the water towards the spring's source. Once again she spoke, calling out in a gentle, sing-song voice to the inhabitants of the spring. To the spirits whom she knew dwelt within, and whom she knew would soon enough make themselves all too clearly known.

"I am here for you, my friends. Here to play. Here to welcome you back to our lands, with whatever fun and games you might bring. Spring is here, and Shu is here for you."

The water grew warmer, even more deliciously warm and soothing against Shu's winter-weather hardened body. The deer shuddered in delight, and she gasped, then giggled as she heard voices. Voices that seemed to whisper up to her through the water itself, but which didn't ring out through the air, instead speaking directly into her mind in a series of overlapping and lighthearted comments.

"Shu is here!"

"Shugosha, our protector!"

"Our keeper."

"Our one true love."

"Never to leave us, never to abandon us."

"Never."

"Never."

"Never!"

"She is with us once more, and we are with her. We are here. We are back."

Shu gasped as she felt something swim between her legs, though the crystal clear water of the spring was empty aside from her bare body and the ripples as she gently kept herself afloat. She felt something else graze across one of her thighs, then again, and the deer's eyes bulged as she felt something intangible yet oh so undeniably present brush against her nether regions. She knew what was coming, and when she felt something wrap around one of her ankles from below, she was already mid way through drawing a deep breath. Her eyes closed, she stopped trying to paddle herself afloat, and far from panicking or fighting, she surrendered entirely as the spirits reached out into this world for the first time this year, and dragged her under the rippling waters of their spring.

As suddenly as she had been tugged beneath the water, Shu found herself on dry land. She felt warmth from above, and something soothing and cool resting against her body from below. Her eyes opened, and she gave a soft moan of awe. The sky above was a rich red, with ribbons of flickering blue cascading across it like pathways of liquid glass. Three suns shone down from various angles, casting no shadows whatsoever, and as Shu propped herself up on her elbows, she whimpered joyously as she looked out around her over an infinite plain of dew-glimmering grass. Nearby a cluster of nymphs, nude and giggling, danced around a vast cherry tree with blossoms of shining gold. Animals, not mortal but spirits in their chosen forms, raced and cavorted and played. Others sat grooming one another. Nuzzling, licking... Shu blushed as she realised that some of them were doing much more than grooming their companions. In the air however, many more spirits flew and swept around in far less tangible forms. Like ghosts, spectral apparitions of shimmering silvery white, they soared through the air above their cavorting companions, and every so often a small portal would open up in the air, allowing one or two of them to disappear through.

As she looked at them, several of those spirits floating in the air seemed to feel her gaze upon them. They flew towards her. They flew around her, spinning and wheeling in the air as she heard the whispers of her name escaping them not as words, but as pure thought.

"Shugosha. Protector. Saviour. Beloved."

They swirled faster and faster, a blur of already indistinct forms, before launching themselves high up into the air, and then down, down directly at Shu where the sika deer lay nude, prone, and ready to welcome them.

*********

Shu burst up to the surface of the spring once more, not gasping for air for in this realm she had only been under the surface for a matter of seconds, but screaming. Screaming in pleasure. Her arms thrashed, splashing and violently slapping down at the water's surface as she felt the spirits inhabiting her making their mischief. Her back arched, and her face flushed crimson as beneath the waters of this sacred spring she felt her most intimate regions convulsing, clenching, and unleashing not just a surge of orgasmic pleasure, but a flood of lust-stricken juices that gushed forth and added themselves to the depths of that ancient and revered water source.

Sometimes when the spirits first inhabited her, they raced her back to the shrine and to her small home within it. To her kitchen, and had her prepare them a feast which they would consume through her. Sometimes they would have her exercise, running until her chest heaved and her brow prickled with sweat even in the early springtime chill. Sometimes they would search through her past, seek out the moments that had brought her the most joy and laughter, and reduce the deer to a shrieking, giggling wreck of pure mirth. They sought to re-acquaint themselves with all they had missed most of the mortal realm, all the tangible sensations and feelings they were unable to experience with the same visceral, physical enjoyment in their own realm. Almost every year however, at some point during their mischievous return to this realm, they would seek to inhabit Shu and experience pleasure through her. They would live in her body, manipulate and control it just enough to drive her wild with ecstasy with no outwardly discernible cause, and bask in orgasmic euphoria that would not last seconds, nor minutes, but far more likely hours on end, while rewarding Shu by allowing her to remain conscious and aware for every last moment of it.

"Yes! Yes! Aaa-aahhhhh, yes!"

Writhing, sobbing, bellowing to the heavens in pure and relentless ecstasy, Shu fought to keep herself afloat. She gulped down unintended mouthfuls of the spring's waters, adding decades to her already unnaturally long life and ensuring that for another year at least she would not age a day in physical terms. She dipped beneath the surface, eyes wide open and granting herself glimpses into the future. To days ahead, months, years, millennia. She dragged herself inch by inch through the water to the spring's edge, her body quaking, cumming constantly all the while, and finally felt cool rock beneath her trembling hoofed feet.

She did not seek to leave the water, knowing that the spirits would wish to remain close by the spring for at least an hour or so while they re-acclimatised to this plane of reality. All she needed was to be on solid ground, so that she no longer had to hold back, so that she no longer had to deny a part of her mind and body the bliss being thrust so abundantly upon her just to keep herself floating and swimming. Soon she fell to her hands and knees, the water deep enough around her to reach her thighs but leave her dripping buttocks and clutching nether regions exposed, to submerge a portion of her bountiful breasts but leave her head free and clear as she tossed it back and wailed once again. Her tail twitched sharply upward, sending a cascade of water shimmering through the air with rainbows caught in every droplet, and Shu shrieked at the top of her lungs as once again her depths surged with ecstasy so savage that hot squirts of liquid ecstasy streaked forth from between her quaking thighs, now exposed and thus launching themselves out over the surface of the water before once again adding itself to the spring's volume.

"Ohhhh spirits! Yes, I'm... _nnn- nnnhhhhhhaaahhhhhh! _!"

As she climaxed, as she screamed and squirted so shamelessly in the throes of rapture, Shu could only hear three things. Her own shrieks, the sound of her ejaculate drumming against the surface of the spring as it lashed out across the smooth and sacred water, and of course loudest of all within her own mind, the spirits' own gleeful crows and cheers as they felt all that she felt, not just the physical stimulation but the joy, the excitement, the pride in being able to play host to their reunion party, and the delight in knowing that they knew her very own spirit's deepest longings in that moment, as well as merely those of her physical self.

The deer shuddered in repeated, unceasing orgasmic ecstasy. She whimpered, she grunted, she came again and again and again. And all the while, she smiled through her lust and her joy, as she listened to the spirits gleeful cries ringing out from within her very soul.

"We're back! We're back. The feelings, oh, to feel again!"

"_Her bliss, her joy, her devotion to us grows with each peak. Make her feel more, my kin. Make her love us more, for her love is sweet, and pure, and delicious! _"

"We will welcome so many to this place. We will give blessings of joy and health to all who come to us, all who love us even a mere shadow of as much as Shu loves us."

"So long as we have the love of the people, and the love of our beautiful guardian, our Shugosha, this land and its people shall forever thrive! This we swear on our love for you, Shu."

"On our love for you, we swear."

"On our love for you, we swear."

"On our love for you, we swear!"
