Dixon and Jakar's Time Alone
Example of my early work, edited it in parts to try and give it some semblance of being good... just something short i did showing the awkwardness of young love... was a side story to a series i never finished... shame really.
Dixon and Jakar's Time Alone
Dixon, Pikx, Jakar and Rei were in the lounge of the temple, all of them were pretty tired since it was so late they were slumped down on the sofa's and chairs not really caring, Dixon was sat staring at the ceiling while Jakar was leaning against his shoulder and almost nodding off.
Pikx: I'm beat... don't you think we should turn in?
Rei: What's the matter bro... all tuckered out?
Pikx: Hell no... I just don't wanna end up sleeping on the couch...
Dixon: Nothing wrong with sleeping on a couch...
Rei: Sounds like you've done it before... maybe more than once *Giggles*
Dixon: Maybe...
Rei: Oh aye... with who?
Dixon: I didn't say I was with anyone.
Rei: I can tell it in your voice Dixon... you were with someone.
Jakar looked up at him also curious to know.
Dixon: Okay... when I was 15... me and my first girlfriend... spent the night on a couch... after a party
Rei: I hope you were a good little boy?
Dixon: Of course I was... what do you take me for?
Pikx: A horndog...
Dixon: Oh come on... I'm not...
Rei: Stop being mean bro
Pikx: Okay... besides he knows I was just kidding right?
Dixon: Yeah... course
Pikx: Cos we all know Dixon hasn't ever done it in his life...
Rei: Now you're being really mean...
Dixon: Oh come off it...
Pikx: Once again... kidding...
Rei: You need to work on your humour...
Pikx: I guess I'll have to...
Rei: Come on... before we fall asleep on the couch
Pikx: You guys coming?
Dixon: When I find the energy to move my legs...
Jakar: I can't move my body...
Pikx: Suit yourself... but I ain't carrying ya all the way back
Dixon: Meh
Pikx and Rei leave, leaving Dixon and Jakar alone.
Jakar: Pikx was being pretty mean to you...
Dixon: That's him I guess... besides it's harmless fun
Jakar: I don't think so...
Dixon: I don't mind... it's better to laugh it off than sulk about it anyway...
Jakar: I guess...
Rei comes back to collect her stuff.
Rei: You still on the couch...
Dixon: Meh...
Jakar: I can't be bothered moving...
Rei: Oh... I see, will you be alright there? I mean everyone else has turned in...
Dixon: What are you our baby sitter?
Rei: Oookay... I guess you'll be there a while...
Rei walks outside and sees Pikx waiting.
Pikx: Are they coming or not?
Rei: I wouldn't wait for them... they may be 'getting it on'
Pikx: And you said 'I' had to work on my humour...
Jakar still can't move her head from where it is.
Dixon: I wonder what she meant by that?
Jakar: About what?
Dixon: About being here a while...
Jakar: I dunno... but I feel like I could fall asleep right here...
Dixon: Am I that comfy to use as a pillow... I've always wondered...
Jakar: Yeah... comfy
Dixon: Oookay... I'm comfy...
Jakar: Dix...
Dixon: Hmmm?
Jakar: Is it true what Pikx said...
Dixon: 'Bout what?
Jakar: About you not... you know...
Dixon: O.o;
Jakar: Dix... *Gets up to look him in the eye*
Dixon: *Looks away*
Jakar: You haven't?
Dixon: Is it such a big deal?
Jakar: No... no it isn't *Rests on his shoulder again*
There's silence for a while.
Jakar: Dix...
Dixon: Hmmm...
Jakar: Nothing...
The two of them lay down on the sofa with their feet hanging off opposite ends staring at the ceiling.
Dixon: The ceiling needs decorating...
Jakar: *Gives a weak laugh*
Dixon: *Sigh*
Jakar: What's up?
Dixon: I was just wondering... what life would be like... if we weren't here... together
Jakar: I guess we'd be living normal life... the same boring things day after day...
Dixon: And the scariest thing is... we wouldn't know each other
Jakar: Yeah...
Dixon: Just think... if something was changed slightly... we wouldn't be friends...
Jakar: Friends... yeah friends... *Blushing a little*
Dixon: What do you mean by that?
Jakar: Nothing... guess I'm tired
Dixon: Yeah... it is pretty late... it's been an hour since they left
Jakar: Don't go yet...
Dixon: Why?
Jakar: I can't move... *Weak laugh*
Dixon: I better get you back.
Dixon picked up Jakar in his arms and started walking towards their accommodation, Jakar wrapped her arms round his neck and rested her head on his shoulder again. As they got in Dixon put her down on the bed and tried to let go... but Jakar wouldn't.
Jakar: You have gorgeous eyes Dixon...
Dixon: O.o huh?!
Jakar: Really...
Dixon: Have you been at the duty free again?
Jakar: I'm being serious...
Dixon: *Blushes*
Jakar lets go of Dixon and he sits down beside her.
Jakar: I think there's something you want to tell me... cos if I'm right it'll all make sense...
Dixon: I don't know what you're talking about... *looks away*
Jakar: I think you do... but for some reason you're afraid... so please, tell me
Dixon: *Look up at her* I... uh... *Looks down*
Jakar: Please Dix...
Dixon: *Breathes in and out deeply* Okay... I don't wanna be friends with you anymore...
Jakar: *Listening intently*
Dixon: Because... I don't like you as a friend... I like you... more than a friend...
Jakar: *Faint smile*
Dixon: I... well... Love you... *Blushing*
Jakar: That's what I thought... because... I do too...
Dixon: You do?
Jakar: It's been gradually growing since we've been together... I could tell because I got a hot flustered feeling whenever I was near you...
Dixon: I thought that was just me...
Jakar: It's quite a relief to get it all out in the open huh...
Dixon: Yeah... I guess you can't bottle it up forever *Keeps shifting gaze from her eyes to the floor*
Jakar: Dix...
Dixon: Yeah...
They looked at each other for a second or two, then Dixon put his hands around her and started kissing her. They were still going as they heard a noise of a door being shut, they both sat looking innocently at the entry way and saw Rei walk in she looked tired and ready for bed.
Rei: You guys still up?
Dixon: Yeah... we were just on our way
Rei looked at them for a second and nodded.
Rei: Sure you were... night guys
As she left they both sighed.
Dixon: Wonder what she meant by that?
Jakar: I think I know why *Looking behind them*
Dixon turned round to see that their tails had hooked together.
Dixon: Heh... I see...
Jakar put her hand on his and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
Jakar: I guess we should get some sleep now...
Dixon: Yeah... Goodnight Jakar
Jakar: Night Dix.
