Rebecca: That is a rather lovely name now that you've explained it to me. Fast? Not if we don't get out of the cave, it won't.

Writer Hermit: And with the word "out" I had started my run out of the cave. I flapped my wings and soared out of the mountain's mouth. Rebecca held on to my neck and I didn't seem to mind as much as I thought I would. I flew straight to the meadow field and landed at the edge of the river. She hopped off and I turned into an eagle and flew to Ute. Ute is a wolf that is not like most, but that's another story. I asked her to bring Rebecca home and she agreed. I followed them by air to make sure Rebecca got home safe and Ute got out safe. It was fine up until Rebecca got into the house, but she was usually out for too long in those fields. Rose sent her to bed and talked to Theodore.

Rose: She's too young to be treated like a grown up and you know that. She made it home. Aren't you happy about that?

Theodore: We both know that I can't help when she gets home, but today she wasn't at the meadow.

Rose: What do you mean? Where was she?

Theodore: I don't know where she was, but that scared me more than her being out there in those fields.

Writer Hermit: I knock on the front door as it's still open and announce.

Hermit: I'm sorry to overhear, but I needed to tell you something and this is the best time for it. I was with her today at my Woodlyn home. She saw me at the edge of the woods and asked to spend the day with me and my critters for a change. I thought you should know.

Theodore: Why did you keep her for so long? When did you decide to bring her home?

Rose: I am glad that she wasn't alone out there. Thank you, Mr. Hermit.

Hermit: Just call me Hermit. I have no title. And I didn't bring her home. I left her at the meadow a while ago and came over to see how Ute was treated. Ute brought her home you know.

Theodore: The wolf? Wolfs and Dragons aren't welcome with my daughter and you tell Ute that. I bet Ute is one of the 2 wolves that keep taking livestock besides the dragons.

Hermit: Well I'll tell her that, but she's a nice girl. I wouldn't be the like you Theo if it was my daughter.

Rose: I'm sure you wouldn't, but I and Theo agree that it's not the best idea no matter how nice they sound.

Theodore: Rose, how many times must I tell you to not just call me Theo? I like my full name better and you know that. And I'd rather you call me Theodore also.

Hermit: Well, you'll understand that I'd rather call you something less demeaning than you're full first name. I was hoping it would make you feel more comfortable. Back when I was young I never heard my full name, no matter how short, unless I was in trouble.

Rose: I didn't mean anything by it, but I know you know that. Well don't just take off with our daughter will you Hermit? I'd like to know where she is and Theodore was worried sick. What with dragons flying by the field it could get even me to get worried, but I know she's not in danger. Don't ask me how.

Theodore: I guess it was better for her to be with critters than in that meadow so thanks again. Goodnight Hermit. I see your point about calling me Theo, but I still like Theodore better.

Hermit: Suit yourself. And you're welcome and I hope it's a good night too. Bye now.

Writer Hermit: And so I turned back into an eagle and went to my cottage in the woods. While I was there another copy of me was already in the house. I knocked on my own door to call myself out to talk. I don't think I've had a good day. Well one thing was nice.

Dam: What's troubling you Hermit, or should I say Anthony?

Hermit: What are you doing here Hoover? Is it that year already? Where am I going now?

Hoover: I don't know, but I have a cave else where. You don't have to switch with me, but we need to keep up to date on things.

Hermit: Like what?

Hoover: Like Rebecca and my telling her father you spent the day with her instead of leaving her in the meadow.

Hermit: This is not my time for her, it's yours. I've been here for about 4 months now and I can only think of so many things to do. That and I need to move on. Although, my bear family? Could you take care of them and make a data copy for me? I can't be here and there all the time you know. I'm on a schedule.

Hoover: And you expect me to be there for Rebecca and your family? What do you have to do with them anyway? I know I liked them a lot, but I didn't keep them forever we know.

Hermit: What? But what about Naomi, she's so young?

Hoover: Well you should have thought of that before agreeing to mate with momma bear again. She was a beauty wasn't she? Tell you what. I'll have them put to sleep while you're away. We can't keep them up when I'm not here. They love you and I guess I miss them, but not quite yet.

Hermit: That will have to do. I'm off to being A now.

Hoover: You're still 22 aren't you?

Hermit: Yah. I have yet to make it back to Leah and tell her about all this.

Hoover: Well don't tell her about me. I'll tell her that when I'm done here. There's a peace to make you know.

Hermit: Don't tell me about it. I need to go see C and get that place next to his.

Hoover: It's taken already by an older one of us. He'll leave and you'll take his spot.

Hermit: Thanks a lot. I wanted to find out on my own. Well I'm glad to know it was easy getting here.

Hoover: You could rest the night and go in the morning. I think that's how I did it.

Hermit: I have to leave at sunrise or I'll be late. Not like that's possible ah?

Hoover: Get to sleep. Where am I sleeping?

Hermit: Make yourself at home. Use your Icon if you want, it's not like people will see it.

Hoover: I've been here without my Icon thank you. I use magic. How about I just make myself a mouse to keep in and sleep in a bowl?

Hermit: Why not become a mouse? Never mind. Good night Hoover.

Hoover: Good night Hermit.

Dragon thinking: That's was just a little mix of the ages. He hadn't left yet. I don't' really need to sleep here. I'll go visit one of my dragon palls. They might like the news I have for them. I haven't told you about them much. Let's see. Come to think of it they might be better off with a good night's sleep. I'll do the same.

...

It's about 2am and I'm awake somehow. What is that sound? You can't here it, but there is a faint howling in the distance. I can hear it because dragons can hear things well. What the? But he's asleep in the next room. How could he, I? I hear Anthony also and he's riding a horse. That's not too off, but which one of me is this again? Vince? He's the horse. Of course, he must be out with Kate tonight again or maybe not. I don't hear Kate. This is odd. I hear Oscar. I'll leave it at that. I'm going back to sleep. The sound of them together, you know, it's not my style right now.

...

That's it! I can't sleep with that in my ears. I'm going to have a talk with another of myself it seems. I'm going to Vince to talk to him.

Writer Anthony: I get out of the house quietly and fly over to where I heard my voice. So they are having sex and Vince is the receiver as a male. I'll growl and see what they do.

Dragon: Gr.

Vince: What is that?

Oscar: What is what?

Vince: I just heard something. You wouldn't understand.

Oscar: Try me.

Vince: It was me, but not me here. You know how I'm a morph right?

Oscar: What about it? Are you talking to yourself?

Vince: Not this time. Or at least I'm not the one talking to me. Someone is out there and I can hear them, but I know it's me.

Oscar: Well what about the others? You told me you have been other people. Isn't that one of them?

Vince: It could be. Who's out there?

Dragon: Can't you recognize your own voice?

Oscar: What the hell is that? Get off of me.

Dragon: Yes Vince. Get off of him and let him see me and run.

Oscar: I just want a closer look at you. So you end up as a dragon here too? What else are you here?

Vince: I'm many here and other times I'm in other places. This is another one of me. He's older right?

Dragon: Damn straight, if that's possible for you. This guy is still with Kate is he not? So why are you? Oh wait. I remember now. You and he along with some others are all in the loop and you made a deal with him. You can't keep your mouth shut can you?

Vince: And what about you? Aren't you telling who you're with?

Dragon: No. The ones that know about me think I'm a dragon and I am as you can see. I've been one for a while now. I'm not saying how long. Are you going to keep this guy or what?

Vince: Don't you know? Get lost dragon. I want to finish him here and ride home to put him back unharmed.

Oscar: Thank you for the confidence. Do leave us be whichever you are. I thought I was getting him ready to make a move and you just barge in. Be gone!

Dragon: Have a night by the fire to make things heat up again. Here.

Vince: Put that out! Let me. Now please get lost. Don't you have a cave to sleep in?

Dragon: I can hear another on of us. I'm busy here it seems. I'll go and see what he's up to.

Vince: Good evening.

Oscar: So long.

Dam thinking: I heard another one of me somewhere nearby again. This one seems to have a bell on. I think it's that one-uttered cow I was a while ago. I'm not checking up on him after all. He's probably having Maxine blow him unless he's alone. In either case I'm not interested in it right now. I might as well head to my cave like Vince said. I do like it there. It is my cave after all.
