Chapter 7:
Sacrifice
Aurora stood before the flame as it twisted and danced before her; suddenly white aura began to emit from her body piercing the darkness in the room. "Forgive me..." she said. Raven appeared before Aurora tied in pure white strings that tied them together, Aurora slowly closed her eyes as each string snapped separating the two. Raven fell to the floor unconsious as the projection of Aurora stood behind him;
"Just wait alittle longer my sisters." she said.
Meanwhile back the Temple, Zennie stood in fear as her and Zigorot slowly began to back away from Anubis.
"N-No i-it can't be!" she shouted as Anubis began to walked closer and closer to them.
"Release your sister Zen! Release Sen from Zigorot!" he yelled.
Inuko looked in shock as he heard Anubis' words.
"Sen is inside Z-Zigorot?!" he thought to himself.
Anubis lifted up his arm as he extended out his hand to Zigorot; the puppet's body began to tremble as his chest plate burst opened revealing a gruesome discovery. Sen's body was extended in the puppet's body as strings were attached to her body. Zigorot's flesh in his chest began to move as it slowly began to swallow Sen's body. Inuko clenched his fists as he forced himself to stand,
"D-AMN THAT MONSTER! Using children t-to..." he said snarling.
Anubis moved his hand towards Zennie as she lifted the dark mirror for an attack. Anubis clenched his fist as the mirror shattered before his presence. Zennie stepped back from his aura as she dropped the broken mirror.
"S-STOP! D-DON'T GET NEAR ME!!" she screamed.
Rebecca began to regain consiousness as she looked at Zigorot, her eyes teared up as she saw Sen being consumed.
"W-What is happening?!" she cried as she forced herself to stand as she leaned up against her staff.
"The true battle is not here, focus on your wounds. I'll protect you." Anubis said.
He reached out his hand as Zigorot began to attack, streams of purple mist shot from its mouth as it headed towards Anubis. Anubis' hand suddenly glowed as a barrier formed around them surpressing the darkness. Rebecca reached into her pocket as she took out healing potions as she poured them on Inuko and her wounds.
Back in the Tower, Aurora slowly walked to the flame as Raven began to regain consciousness. Seth rushed towards them in full force as hatred filled his eyes. Raven's pendant begun to glow as it forced back Seth driving him into the wall behind him; Raven looked to Aurora as she turned and smiled at him.
"Tell Sen and Zen to look after you for me. Okay Raven?" she spoke tenderly.
Raven's eyes began to tear up as saddness filled his face,
"Aurora wait!" he yelled as a small teardrop fell to the ground.
Aurora closed her eyes and fell backwards into the black flames; her hair burned, her clothes fading away slowly. Raven stood up as he rushed towards the flame as he extended his arm out to her while the flames scorched his flesh,
"Aurora!" he cried.
As the flames engulfed her body, she smiled as tears fell from her face. Suddenly, the Tower began to temble as Raven fell to the ground; a great beam of light shot forth from
the depths of the hole as it strucked it giant crystal above it. Seth's body burst into flames as the source of his powers were purified. Seth orginal body fell to the floor as he struggled to move.
"T-THIS WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN?!" he said under his breath.
The room was quickly engulfed by the light as rings of halos appeared around the Tower as it spread opened across the lands like ripples in water.
Anubis quickly turned to his left as he felt a strong aura rushing towards them.
"I-It can't be..." he said.
On the outside of the Temple a rush of holy light came forth. As it moved over the Temple, a wall of white light appeared besided Anubis and Zigorot. It moved towards them as Anubis' dropped the barrier grinning.
"Good bye Set." he said.
Zennie quickly looked to her right as the white light engulfed them all; as the light faded Anubis stood holding both of the young girls in his arms. Inuko and Rebecca's wounds were completely healed as Rebecca rushed towards Anubis.
"A-Are they okay?" she asked.
Inuko stood up as he looked towards area the light appeared.
"Raven, I hope you are okay." he said.
Anubis looked down at Rebecca as he slowly handed Sennie to her.
"Yes, the white aura broke Set's control over them. They are like they once truly were." he spoked.
Rebecca lifted up Sennie into her arms, as she pushed her white hair from her face. Inuko walked over to Anubis as he lifted Zennie from him. Inuko looked down at her as she slept soundly in his arms; their nightmare had come to an end but at what costs he thought. Zennie lifted her small hand up as Inuko looked at her as she slowly opened up her eyes. Zennie slowly grabbed Inuko's ear as she drifted back to sleep as one word left her lips.
"Pupie." she said softly.
Inuko's eyes widen as he turned to Anubis,
"Where's Raven?!" he demanded.
Anubis looked at him with a serious look,
"Raven is alive if thats what you mean. But..." he spoke as he looked towards the Tower.
In the Tower chamber, Raven sat besided the bright white and blue flame. His expression was lifeless as his eyes were empty; with Aura and Iskar gone so were his emotions that made him human. Seth's body quickly faded in the shadows as he retreated from his defeat. Raven's empty glare looked up at the statue as his pendant housed another jewel; the jewel shined a white color as his hands twitched.
Inuko demanded to see him as Rebecca tried to prevent him from waking the small girls.
"What do you mean he lost his humanity?!" he yelled.
Anubis stood before them as he looked towards the ground,
"With the death of Iskar and the sacrifice of Aurora for her sisters. Raven lost what made him human. He is of an empty shell now..." he said.
Inuko began to snarl at Anubis as Rebecca calmed him,
"Is there anything that can be done?" she spoken in a soft voice.
Anubis placed his hand on the glyph as it begun to glow.
"I am afraid, there is nothing that can be done. But perhaps, maybe his mother can awaken him from this state. Go to the Tower of Ancients, first you need to light the other three Towers before Set does. Awaken Raven's sisters, they shall help you on your quest." he said as he teleported from sight.
Inuko and Rebecca turned to each other as they nodded, they slowly walked unto the glyph as they were quickly teleported to the Tower.
As they appeared before the Tower, a small toy figure stood before them of a wolf creature. Inuko quickly recognized the toy as he shouted out his name,
"Serios!" he yelled.
Inside the Tower, Raven's pendant began to react to the flame as the jewels emited each one of their auras. Suddenly, outside the Tower a small halo appeared above the toy figure as it slowly desended. The toy was engulfed in light as tiny feathers surrounded it, the toy quickly transformed back into the Guardian Wolf Serios. Serios stood before Inuko as his blue and white fur flowed in the wind, he opened his eyes as he shook his body strenching out. Inuko and Rebecca walked closer to him as Inuko called out to him again.
"Serios, is that truly you?!" he asked.
Serios looked at Inuko as his eyes widen, he rushed towards Inuko and Rebecca.
"Inuko? Is that really you?! Wow man I haven't seen you since we were pups!" Serios yelled as he stoped before Inuko.
He looked at the two sleeping girls as he realized what happened to him.
"Those two are?!" he said as he ran closer to them rubbing his muzzle against their bodies.
Zennie and Sennie slowly awokened as they rubbed their eyes. Rebecca and Inuko slowly placed them down as they stood before Serios. Serios walked closer to them as they opened their eyes,
"WOLFIE!" they both cried out as they leaped towards Serios embracing him tightly.
"We sorrie we hurt you wolfie." Sennie said as they snuggled closely to him.
Zennie kissed Serios on the side of his muzzle.
"W-We d-didn't mean too. W-We tr-tried to stop b-but couldn't." she cried.
Serios looked at the two as he placed his muzzle between them resting it on their shoulders.
"Its okay girls, I know. I know. Its not your fault." he spokened in a soft tone.
Serios then looked at Inuko,
"Inuko. Your friend is through that door over there." he said as he turned his muzzle to point at the great doorway.
Inuko dashed off past Serios and the girls as he burst thru the door and disappeared into the Tower. Serios eyes grew soft as he turned and snuggled with the girls. Rebecca looked down at them as she slowly looked towards the great Tower as it continued into the heavens.
"Raven..." she said.
Inside the Tower, Inuko rushed into the Anubis' chamber as he saw the white and blue flame dance in the center of the room. The crystal that hanged in the ceiling glowed a white light; Inuko looked everywhere for Raven as he turned and saw him sitting beside the flame. Inuko dashed towards him as he stopped and dropped to his knees lifting
up Raven infront of him.
"Raven. Raven. Come on say something. Please say anything." he said as he gently shook Raven's body.
Raven's empty glare looked at him as his body moved like a ragdoll. Serios slowly walked into the chamber as the two small girls followed behind him, holding unto his fur. Rebecca walked in after them as she ran to Raven's side. She looked into his eyes fearing the truth. Sen and Zen walked up to Raven as they slowly poked his body.
"Is sister sleeping?" Sennie asked.
Zennie waved her hand infront of Raven's eyes,
_"I can wake up sis." Serios tensed up and tried to stop Zennie, "Wait Zenn-" he said but before he can finish Zennie quickly and painfully punched
Raven's cheek as the impact threw him across the room_ .
Rebecca fell to the floor as she turned to Zennie as she sat in shock, trying to move as her body trembled. Inuko ran over to Raven as he lifted him up into his arms. Serios looked down at the ground as he let out a heavy sigh; Sennie looked at Zennie.
"I don't think you hit her hard enough Zennie chan." she said.
Zennie made a small fist again,
"Maybe if I hit her again, she'll wake up." she said.
Zennie slowly began to walk towards Inuko and Raven; Serios quickly grabbed Zen's clothing by her neck and lifted her off the ground with his teeth.
"Not today Zennie." he muffled.
As he placed her back down by her sister.
"Awww no fun. I just want to wake baby sis up." she whined.
Sennie placed her hands on Serios ears as she began to rub them; Serios placed his forehead against hers as his tail wagged in the air. Zennie stood up and watched Serios' tail move back and forth as she tried and tried to grab it.
Inuko looked down at Raven as Rebecca brushed his hair from his face.
"Inuko..." she said in a soft voice.
Inuko quickly looked up to Serios.
"Serios, please tell me where the closest Tower stands." he said in a serious tone.
Sennie released one of Serios' ears as he turned towards Inuko. He sat down as Zennie hugged him from behind,
"The nearest Tower is the Tower of Isis, due north." he replied.
Inuko nodded, "Then thats our next stop, right Raven?" he said.
Inuko looked down as he saw Raven's lips move slightly. He looked up as he promised to awaken Raven.
Sennie turned to Serios,
"Wolfie?" she asked.
Serios turned towards her, "Yes Sennie?" he replied.
Zennie and Sennie both looked at one another as they nodded,
"We want to go with pupie to wake sissy up." they said.
Serios eyes widen, "Yo-You want to leave the Tower?" he asked in shock.
Sennie ran towards Inuko and Rebecca,
"Can we go with Pupie?" she asked.
Rebecca placed her hand on her head; Sennie looked up as she grabbed Raven's hand.
"We want to see Mommie and sisters too." she said.
Inuko looked at Serios, "Would you like to join us old friend?" he asked.
Serios looked at Zen and Sen as he walked closer to them as Zennie rode on his back.
"Seems I have no choice in the manner. I follow anywhere these girls go. Yes, then. To the Tower of Isis." he said.
Sennie and Zennie embraced Serios as they kissed his muzzle. Serios fell to the floor as the girls laughed. Inuko slowly stepped back,
"Defeated by cuteness huh Serios?" he asked.
Serios looked at him, "Don't you dare say another word, Puppy..." he replied.
As the darkness fell near, the group followed Serios and the girls down the old corridors as they came upon doorways deeper into the Tower. Sennie grabbed Rebecca's hand as she lead her into her room.
"This is your bed." she said as a large bed stood in the center of the room.
A crystal stood on a table nearby as it gave light to the room, Rebecca slowly walk over to the bed as she fell straight to sleep. Sennie quietly turned off the crystal as she tiptoed out of the room. Zennie grabbed Inuko's fur as she guilded him and Raven down another doorway as two seperate beds stood with a small table with a similar crystal floated on it. Inuko placed Raven on one bed as he slowly closed his eyes for him to get some rest. Inuko turned to Zennie as he thanked her as she left the room. Zennie ran over to Sennie and Serios as both of them grabbed Serios fur as he guilded them down into their room. Serios walked over to the crystal as dimmed the light.
"To bed you two." he said.
Sennie and Zennie rushed to bed as they jumped underneath the covers. Serios turned and slowly walked away just to stop.
"Wolfie?" Sennie asked.
"Yes yes I remember." Serios turned around and jumped unto the bed, "You two are afraid of the dark." he said. Serios laid between them as he felt both of them snuggling against him. "We love you wolfie." they whispered into his ears. "I love you too girls." he answered. Serios slowly closed his eyes as they gently fell to sleep.
Meanwhile. back in Inuko and Raven's room. Inuko laid in bed as he turned and saw Raven sleeping soundly. Inuko began to remember the way Raven laughed or used to talk in his sleep. A memory flowed into his mind as Raven laid besides him looking at the stars.
"Raven, how do you like being a human so far?" he asked.
Raven sat up as he looked at Inuko strangely,
"I don't know puppy." he replied.
Raven shifted his body as he laid his head down on Inuko's stomach.
"How do you like being in that form?" Raven asked.
Inuko looked down at Raven,
"Enjoying life as it is..." he replied.
The memory slowly began to fade as Inuko sat up and looked at Raven. Something suddenly comes to mind,
"Sister? Raven's a boy. Isn't he?" he said to himself.
Raven laid on his bed as the pendant softly shined by the reflecting light.
