Living as a Skunk: chapter five
I has been a month since school ended, and life has been normal, well, about as normal as it can get around here. However, we've started our packing for anthrocon. Even though she said she bought the tickets, I still had to pay half. Getting a job was kind've hard for me though. I started out at the local fast food joint hamburger king. However, when my tail got caught in the frialator and the fries were "furry" all day they said they couldn't cover me, I had to find a new job. I eventually got a job at the local store, Wale-shop, where I worked in customer service. It was a decent job, I got to meet a lot of new people, and I worked off the debt until I had enough to go to anthrocon.
"Mom! Where's my tail brush?!" I yelled from upstairs
"In the medicine cabenet, next to your toothbrush! Just where it's always been!" she yelled up the steps.
"Oh" I run to the bathroom and grab my tail brush and toothbrush, and pack them away. "Am I forgeting something?"
"Did you bring your toothbrush?"
"Yes mom..." I groan loudly at this.
"Your change of underware for three days?"
I roll my eyes "Yes mom..."
"Your special shampoo?"
"They have showers there?"
"At the hotel, yes. You didn't think you'd get away with not showering and cleaning all that fur for three days?!"
"Fine I'l go grab it" I grab my shampoo and pack it away and zip up my bag. "Ok, now we're ready right."
"You bet dear, let's head out." we through our bags into the back, I grabbed my Uphone and Upod and we started on our way. I out on my smooth jazz as we entered the highway. We lived in Blackstown, Rhode Island, the trip there would take quite a ways.
"Can I take a quick..."
"Cat nap" my mom chuckled at this.
I laughed "Sure mom." and with my smooth jazz in the background, and the rolling landscape beside me I drifted off to sleep.
The next thing was my dream I had on the way. I "Woke up" Sweating profusely. I heard people screaming and crying
"What have you done to us!?" "Why did this happen?!" "Can anything be fixed?!" Their screams were riveting as I felt my soul being torn to bits, and from the darkness overhead came a shadowy figure looming over this world. The shadow took shape and took the form of the sorcerers from which I had received my form.
"YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!" they bellowed over the world like gods. "Abandon all hope and return home, or cause pain and suffereing to millions! HAHAHAHAHAHA!" as they faded away the floor from where I stood disintegrated and I fell into an endless abyss of darkness. This was when I woke up.
"No!" I roar
"Are you ok dear? We've arrived."
"We're here?"
"Yeap, Pittsburg Pensylvania, and there's our hotel." I looked up and saw the skyscraper of a building. Well whatever happened now and what was to come was too late to stop now, and boy if I had known, maybe I would've never even gone, to anthrocon.
