Just Me and You
A poem I came up with when I was working around my yard and my dog kept following me around. I imagined this is what they would tell me if they could, I guess.

Just Me and You By: Lu-Man Once there was a lot of us You could count the foot falls of the kids in the hall Running two by two Pancakes in the summer, with bacon and butter I would get the left overs, sitting by you The shouts would ring out from sleep overs and hang outs A love felt through the whole house, would warm you through Those days soon changed a cold winter came Love turned bitter, and anger reigned The yelling and screaming, I'd run and hide! Getting cover, I'd curl up and cry, waiting for it to be over And love to recover, but that didn't happen for us two They may have stormed out, but I'll never run off I'll always be here for you, just me and you I'll stay by your side, be your protection and guide I'm always here for you And when that day comes Across that rainbow bridge I come I'll stand by and wait for you Just me and you.
