Words: Shilonians listen to words a different way than you do.

Humana = morally acceptable.

Tweetie = sweetie.

Beaking = bird kisses.

To ruffle someone's feathers = Can be used in both an expression of annoyance or as a sign of affection: "You ruffle my feathers just the right way".

Portal = person who birthed/laid a deity.

Crow = Shilonians are a universal species, and crow is a curse word to them.

Vulture = Again, a curse word to Shilonians.

Eagle = A person who's fast and accurate.

Ostrich = A person who prefers the hard way of doing things.

Flying Fish = A person who tries to be something he isn't.

Robin = A person who's cheap.

Peacock = A person who is a show-off.

Parrot = A person who talks too much.

Scaly = A person who's legs AND arms are scaled. Often used in a hurtful context.

Blackbird = Pet name.

Dove = Pet name.

Chicken = Pet name.

Rooster = Pet name.

Chick = Both a pet name and a word used to degrade people who act too young for their age: "Don't be a chick and get off the couch".

-ean = Suffix, means 'daughter of'.

-eun = Suffix, means 'son of'.

-eon = Suffix, means 'neuter of'.

Nea- = Prefix, means 'mother of'.

Neu- = Prefix, means 'father of'.

Neo- = Prefix, means 'neuter of'.

Neon =Pet name for neuter offspring. It's also the name of a noble gas.

Ne- = Prefix meaning 'of'.

Br, Bs = Mr. and Ms. For Shilonians. They don't know the term Mrs. (married woman). It stands for Bird-Ril (male) and Bird-Sem (female). The words Ril and Sem are old and since replaced with male and female, but are still often used in pop culture and certain professions. While being written as such, it's still pronounced as Mister and Misses.

Acts: Certain ways of interaction. Word AND meaning of actions included.

Beaking = normal 'kiss' involving the rubbing of beaks.

Licking of beak = a more loving or sensual kiss.

Licking anywhere near the face = much like licking the beak, but without the declaration of love (like kids to their mother)

Tongue beak = Act of putting beaks together and 'French Kiss'.

Brushing feathers with beak = similar to a kiss anywhere away from the beak.

Beak rub = A sensual, often sexual, massage involving the beak.

Pecking = More verbal violence than physical pecking. Often done to establish character and dominance.

Objects: Words and terms you might want to know.

Argonium = a brown gemstone similar to Earth's sapphires and emeralds.

Educatorium = A school, with both religious and scientific teachings. Unlike our religious schools, everything is taught as the religion is lenient on the part of science.

Clothing set = a set of clothes with a set pattern of colours, consistent of a dress, boots, gloves and optional headgear. Pants are rare, since Shilonians lose a great deal of libido from warming their genitals too much.

Neuter = A haploid being without reproductive abilities. It is often stronger than gender-bound Shilonians due to the absence of certain enzymes. Always referred to as 'it'.

A/U/O genders = A is often used for female objects as final letter, or to feminise it (example: boya, a girly boy), U is male and O neuter, similar to the English habit of naming on gender. It is not mandatory for names, and male names can end with an A and such.

Genders = because males look like females, Shilonians decide their own gender (in the way of being treated and spoken to). It is important to remember this, as you will likely encounter women that preferred to be called 'him' and men that prefer to be called 'her'. Addressing people with 'it' upon first meeting is a formal way of asking for their preferred gender.

Colours and Genders = Shilonians don't associate colours with genders, nor any kind of clothing. Neuter are the only ones that have problems with this, though even this is limited.

Pants = Since Shilonians are unable to wear pants, wearing them is a sign of hostility. Some can respect it, but you will be treated better if you refrain from wearing them.

Feather bouquets = Shilonians pick their own feathers to compose bundles to show their love. It's painful, but it grows back. It's a common way to make up for mishaps. To Shilonians, feathers are similar to what flowers are to humans. Although in Shilonian culture, flowers are decoration and terrible gifts, as they're 'too easy to be worth appreciating'.
