#1 of Star Wars: Dark Mandate

The Valley of the Dark Lords was a fantastic sight, even after centuries of war, destruction, purges, and ultimately abandonment. Great monolithic statues, although worn down by the planet's harsh sand and harsher beasts, still stood proudly, against all odds, near the entrances of long collapsed tombs and tunnels. A testament to the power, the enduring and eternal shadow of the dark side. The Jedi exiled those of them that sought the knowledge of the dark, but these outcasts endured. The Jedi noticed this, their banishment only aiding their rise to greatness. The Jedi noticed that their formers not only survived, but grew, and this scared them. Using the might of the old Republic they attacked, but the Sith endured. Through these attacks the Sith grew greater, they carved planetary governments and system-wide empires out of the power granted to them by those 'peace-keepers' of the light. Persecution taught the Sith hate and hate made them strong. Invasion taught the Sith cunning and cunning let them live, even as their empires fell and ancient knowledge burned. To truly bear the mantle of Sith, those of the modern days, those who rose under the time of Republic stagnation and Jedi complacence, they must relearn what the old Sith understood as natural. They must learn hatred where the old Sith breathed it, they must learn cunning where the old Lords embodied it.

Modern children of the Dark are weak but through careful guidance, every generation will arise stronger. The legacy of the ancient Sith uncovered, the ancient secrets buried and destroyed in the ruined valley of the Dark Lords and beyond will be rediscovered.

A smile came to the pale man's lips, the dry wind of Korriban tugging at his grey robe.

The Dark Mandate will be fulfilled.
