1:27 PM. The walk back through the forest had taken up quite a lot of time, and Xerany was afraid his mom would be mad at him for coming back so late. Finally the town came back into view, and he rushed towards it as quick as he could, without making Eevee fly off like a rocket. He ran through town, waving occasionally when people waved at him.

''Finally, I hope mom isn't home yet..'' Xer thought out loud, and he walked up to the place he called home.

He didn't live in a big house, it was a small one with only 2 floors. The walls on the front looked old, but in a good way, and the door was made of an old oak, adding to the effect. Some of Xer's friends thought he lived in a monument, but he always pushed those comment off as a joke.

''Mom, I'm home'' He yelled as he opened the front door, but no answer came.

''Thank god she's not home yet, or she would've been pissed'' He said to Eevee, which answered with a simple ''Vee''.

Xerany heard his belly grumble, and so did Eevee's, so he walked into the kitchen to make some food. A few minutes later both sat on the couch, enjoying their midday snack.

After an hour of tickle-licking and tail-pulling the front door opened. ''Xerany, I'm home.'' His mother called out.

''Hey mom, we're in here'' Xerany called back, seeing his mom appear at the door a few seconds later.

''We're?'' his mother asked, looking at the small Eevee sitting next to her son.

''Xerany, we talked about this!'' She nearly yelled. ''We can't have Pokémon in the house, I barely have enough food to fill 2 moths, let alone 3!''

It was true, Xerany's mom wasn't the richest person on the planet. Ever since her husband left her to go work for some secret organization for away, she had to make money with her underpaid job.

''Mom, please. I'll split my food with her.'' Xer plead, but to no avail.

''No Xerany, we talked about this way to much! That thing is out of the house by tomorrow, or you can go with it.'' Is all his mom said before walking off to the kitchen to unpack the groceries.

The next morning. Xerany and Eevee we're walking through the forest on a morning walk, enjoying the silence and each other's company. Xerany had laid awake all night, thinking off a way to keep Eevee, but not having to leave the house.

''Damn, why does she have to be like that'' He whispered as he kicked against a rock in front of his feet, sending it flying off somewhere.

Just as the rock landing back on the ground, a massive explosion behind them scared both of them, the wind blowing them down with ease. After recovering Xer stood up quickly, looking at the rose-shaped cloud in the air, hanging right above where his town should be.

''Mom!!'' he yelled as he began to run for the town, ignoring the bushes clawing at his clothes.

After a few minute run, he came to the edge of the forest, looking down at the town: destroyed. Buildings were burning, cars crashed and piled up, some even exploded as Xerany watched in horror. He could see people running in the streets, trying to get away from the fire while looking for their beloved, some even ignoring the fire, playing and dancing on their clothes. He saw Pokémon, rolling through the dirt and mud, trying to snuff the flames burning away their skin and fur.

Eevee saw what Xerany saw, and likewise. Both stood there, nailed to the ground at the horrible sight before them. A small light beam crossed Xerany's eye, and he looked up at the humongous ship, hovering above the flames. A red symbol was imprinted all over the ship, but he didn't know what it was.

Then he saw where the beam of light came from, a huge door at the underside of the ship. It started to lift, but before it disappeared in the clouds he saw a single mad, standing in the light.

His heart skipped a beat, and he felt as if his chest was being crushed by a crane, for the man he saw: was his father.
