Bowsy. The misunderstood villain.

Bowser, the misunderstood Villian.

In my own retelling of the Mario saga, Mario is a one-man army, obstacle course champion (duh), and castle reparation expert, who only originally went to boswer's castle because the shower head was all banged up. Bowser never bothered providing transport because he's kind of a cheepskate, and Mario needed the exercise anyway. Mario (Billy West), once there, struggled to concentrate on his work due to the barrage of vermin who weren't happy about this midget trapsing all over their land. Anybody he stepped on was by accident, as leapfrog was his favortie childhood game, and he considered the act to be an attempt at humoring the seemingly humorless turtles and fungus.

Now, Peach (Lauren Tom) comes into the picture when she is put in Bowser's custody because Bowser (Levi Stubbs) considered her a poor judge of character when it came to picking her adviisors. Spoiler alert, he's absolutely right. She hires incompetent lackeys who she can defer big decisions to so that she can admire her garden. Mario stumbles across her while trying to trace a pipeline he has recently demolished. She explains her situations, and Mario considers bowser an overbearing parent. He leaves the phone number for an orphanage, somebody else he can boss around rather than a grown woman. And they make off in a fan-propelled magic carpet after irresponsibly flooding the basement with lava.

Thus begins the incessant years of Bowser nabbing Peach before she can give her advisors permission to let in a shady genie peddler, just to have mario yank a trap door beneath his feet and let in the genie peddler, whose wares hide ghost of unfriendly intentions.
