david's cllege days part twenty six
It had been a long day in the work place, seeing as David was back on the till he was reading one of his magazines that he got each mouth.
This was his favourite of the two he got the other was on classics cars, it was yu-gi-oh cards mouthy and in one of the articles he noticed this thing about a tourment coming near them.
At lunch time David went to see the guy in the yu-gi-oh card shop, David and Sarah loved to go there David would rummage in the box for any cards he had not got, and Sarah would look at all the new cards.
David asked the guy what was going on next door,
"That's where the tourment's going to be, if my guys are right the maker of yu-gi-oh cards is going to play the winner with his gold deck each card is worth one million pounds"
David looked in the shop there were a lot of people setting up posters and tables and lighting he was then tapped on the shoulder,
"Do you like what you see young sir?"
"Yes I and my wife are going to take part"
"Well good luck to you"
"Thank you sir"
"Oh, you wouldn't mind looking after this would you?"
He was holding a small metal box with Japanese writing,
"No of course not"
As David took hold of the box it went straight to the floor
"Off! What is in here?"
"My deck, oh he's the key if you get coulisse of what's in the box"
The old man seemed to stare at David as if tempting him to open the box, he walked away, and David put the box in the car the car groaned but took the weight.
At home David said to Sarah what the box was Sarah said
"Let's open it up!"
"No!" David said
"The old man seemed to be trusting me in not opening up the box".
After a long look at the box Sarah and David got board and started to fill in the sheets for the tourment.
The next morning David and Sarah went to the tourment and it was big the whole shop was full of people.
Both David and Sarah had decks and tins David had a big tin with his two decks, a 40 card deck and a playing for fun deck that had loads of cards in, Sarah had a deck and some spare cards in case she wanted to change or swap them.
At the desk they got there number's for the game, David was number 29 he like this number, and Sarah was 88 it was like the bingo number two fat ladies Sarah didn't oike this.
At the start of the tourment David and Sarah went other ways, Sarah had selected hard as she was a get player, and David gone with easy as he had lost loads agents Sarah, on the paper it said "which level do you want to face? Easy, Hard or both.
As the tourment raged on Sarah was now on to her 27th opponent and David was looking on he had lost at his 4th battle but he had done well before losing.
Sarah was on fire and boy was she good, she had only changed a bit of her deck and in the end she had defeated every body except the master she had help from David who cheered her on.
"We have a new champion"
"She will play the master tomorrow on live telly!"
As every one was packing up the old man spoke to David
"Ah, young sir we meet again"
"Do you have my deck?"
"Yes it's in the car; do you want me to fetch it?"
"No, no just make sure that no one gets them"
In the morning as David and Sarah went in to the shop it was heavily guarded and they set of the metal detector off and were shared but only Sarah set it off, not David even though he had the box then it came to him the box was made of lead or something else that's why it didn't set the alarm off plus that's why it was heavy!
Upon going into the shop Sarah was told what to do and David was going to meet the old man,
"Ah, sir thank you for bringing my deck"
David placed it on the table
"And the key?"
David placed the key on the box
"And did you look into the box?"
"No sir, it has been shout since you gave it to me"
"Why do you think it weighs so much?"
"Because it is made of lead"
"No it has my gold deck in it"
David jaw dropped and the old man opened the box it was blinding the shininess and he gave David a card,
"It's a tiger, how did you know I like tigers?"
"Old trick looking at your cards and your face when you got a tiger card"
The old man meet Sarah and the tourment started this was also on live telly everybody who could get the sports channels watched.
After a long fence battle, Sarah lost but the old man said she had battled well and hard she then had her photo taken with him and he signed it.
Just then a man came in with a gun and said some foreign words but he was after the gold deck as he pointed to it.
David went for the man but he turned around and shot David in the chest.
Sarah then tripped him up and he was sent to jail, in the mean time David was rushed to the emergency room but soon after they started to operate on David he died.
Sarah was crying and the old man was comforting her.
Just then the card that the old man had given David started to glow and jumped out of David's pocket and started to remove the bullet and the bullet hit the metal dish with a ting!
Then the card sank into David body and the machine started to beep again the card then stitched David up and left on mark on his chest the card then seemed to disappear.
After David woke up he saw the old man and Sarah, Sarah hugged him hard but David more wanting to know what happened.
The old man said every thing,
"The card knew how you save me and my deck from being stolen and it saw you save me so in repay meant it saved your life and in its place it left its mark"
The old man lifted up the shirt David was wearing and showed David on his chest, there was a card mark and in his pocket was the card but it was just a bit of gold no picture or text just a gold yu-gi-oh card, David put this card in his wallet and kept it safe.
The old man said
"Look after your self now that mark means you cannot be injured and if you do it will heal up quick"
He walked away
"Wait! How did you know this?"
"Because I made it"
He walked in to the door trying to look spooky like he could walk though it but he hurt himself instead, Sarah helped him up and he went on his way.
After that David never saw the old man again and that card, well that card is still in chest but he can never be hurt just hurt but not for long as it will heal David.
Soon after all this David looked though his deck and made some adjustments, removing cards and adding new cards then he asked to play Sarah, Sarah accepted the challenge she laughed under her breath as she'd beaten David so many times.
After a long battle Sarah won but this was the longest battle ever, two an a half hours David is gone in half an hour but David said to Sarah,
"It's this mark it some how has made me better at the game",
"That is because you are not very good; the card sensed this and made you better"
"Cool, so now I will be able to defeat Sarah?"
"Yes and no".
The card that had saved David's life was now just a blank gold card witch David carried around in is wallet and now and then it tells him which card's to buy and which cards will be rare in a few years, how do you ask I know this? Well I know the old man and he told me this story, so now you know.
