"Altered Reality"

The sound of birds chirping filled the air as a flock of small black-winged ones flew past Johnny before spiraling up into the trees of the forest he found himself in. The gorilla raised his arms and checked under them, verifying that his leather jacket was still on him and he hadn't somehow showed up here naked before breathing a brief sigh of relief.

"This is nice." He said to himself as he looked up toward the sunlight. The shine coming through the treetops was enough to have him put a hand up and shade his eyes from it. "Really nice." He breathed in deep and started to stroll down the barely-etched path. Looking off to his right, he could barely make out the waters of a brook that carved a path into the woods. Slipping his hands into his pockets; he continued along, humming a bit as he walked. After half a dozen steps, the faint blue color of a flower poking through the edge of the road caught his attention. He crouched down and wrapped a finger around it to pluck it from the ground. He sniffed it idly and shook his head. "Incredible, it's so lifelike..." Putting the flower into his jacket pocket, he stood up again before hearing what sounded like a thumping noise followed by a soft whistle that faded seconds later. "What was that?"

As the gorilla looked up toward the sky, he could see something shaped just barely visible on the skyline. Johnny narrowed his eyes and tried to examine the flying object; it was getting bigger, and bigger. Whatever it was, it was coming right toward him.

Johnny realized this and immediately began to run the other direction as the sound of a distant voice grew louder, and louder: "looooook ouuuuuuuut belooooooooooooow!" There was a hard thud that knocked the wind out of the escaping gorilla as what hit him caused him to go flying down the hill and off the road. Flailing his arms to try and grab at something, as soon as he collided with the base of the hill, he grabbed onto something furry; something moving, something... not himself... "Hey!" He heard a gruff voice sharply object. "Watch where you're grabbin' pal!"

"Ahh! I'm-I'm sorry, I didn't..."

Johnny turned over onto his back to face the one who literally fell out of the sky onto him and ended up receiving a face full of fuzz before staring up at a bear type he'd never seen before. He had a tan tunic with a belt down near his waist, a green hat and a light brown fur, of which a large portion was now pressing down against his mouth as he sat straightening out his hat. "I swear, that Zummi must have done something to the latest batch of juice..." He grumbled, not even paying attention to the gorilla under him before looking at his own brawny arms and looking around. "Huh... maybe he added some embiggening potion to it, I'm huge!"

"I'll say..." Johnny muffled from under the bear's crotch, prompting him to look down and notice the gorilla once again.

"YIKE!" The bear bounced; he bounced incredibly high and vacated Johnny's face in ernest before hitting the ground twenty feet away and bounced again before rolling around on the ground and coming to a stop once more. "You gotta watch where you're going, kid. You could'a killed me."

"Well, I'm sorry I was in the way of gravity and your fuzzy ass, then." Johnny said, sputtering excess fur from his mouth and getting up, dusting himself off. "Where did you come from?"

"I came from..." The bear paused, really mulling over his thoughts. "Someplace else, far away from here. What about you?"

"I'm... new around here myself." Johnny said. "My name's Johnny. What's yours?"

"Just..." The bear grunted as he looked down and realized he was still dangling well in the open before tugging his tunic down tighter. "Just leaving." He growled before storming off in the other direction."

"Wait!" Johnny rushed to catch up, and the bear turned sharply to stare at him. "I'm... sort of lost, I was wondering if you knew where the closest town was?"

"Town?" The bear scoffed. "Well I guess Dunwyn would be the only habitable place around here, but it's full of humans. I doubt you'd fit in very well."

"Humans?" Johnny cocked his head in confusion.

"Boy. You haven't been around here long, huh?" He sighed. "Alright, alright. You can come with me, I've gotta find a way back down to size, I'm about twenty times bigger than I should be, so it'll be hard to get back using my normal routes. Come on, kid. We'll find you some place you can stay."

"You still haven't introduced yourself."

"Why?"

Johnny paused and shrugged. "Because I introduced myself, and I'd like to know your name if we're gonna talk."

"Talking isn't necessary." The bear waved dismissively and started to walk away, making about three steps he gave a groan of surrender and shook his head, turning around. "Bahhhh it's Gruffi. Gruffi Gummi. Don't get used to it, kid you won't be using it much."

"Gruffi." Johnny repeated. "Pleasure to meet you, sir."

Gruffi grumbled and turned around, shaking his head and muttering under his breath as he continued on the path, Johnny following just after him as they walked into the woods together.

Gruffi wasn't kidding, the two walked for nearly half a mile without words. As the sun baked down on them though, Johnny had begun sweating and had taken his jacket off. He wiped his brow and let out a sigh, a slight itch on his back distracted him momentarily before he noticed several black spots covering the bear's tunic. As he blinked his eyes, he noticed they were tiny, tiny spiders moving everywhere from the base of his collar to the base of his tunic. When Gruffi idly scratched at his backside, Johnny's heart leaped into his throat. "GRUFFI!" He shrieked, causing the bear to jump.

"What? What?!"

"Sp-spiders! Spiders everywhere!" Johnny began to wildy swing his hands against his body, pulling off his shirt.

"AHH! Mider Spiders!" Gruffi shrieked as he pulled his tunic off in one fell swoop and began to run toward the water, naked as the day he was born, swiping at his fur until mustering a full-fledged cannonball to leap into the river. Johnny wasn't far behind him, staggering to pull his shoes and his pants off before stumbling into the water himself.

Instantly, the water's bitter cold drowned out the itching and Johnny's head broke through the surface with a combined gasp for air and sigh of relief before Gruffi sputtered to the surface as well. "Must've landed in a big nest of 'em after we fell down that hill..." He glanced at Johnny floating nearby. "Oh, don't worry kid, mider spiders aren't exactly poisonous. They're just... inquisitive and very... very invasive of personal space. Trust me, if you get to know them when you're my normal size, these guys are like fleas in comparison."

"Still. I hate spiders." Johnny admitted, knocking a flood of water from his ear.

"Hey!" A large splash of water erupting between Johnny and Gruffi made them cry out in surprise as a white furred head popped out from under the water with a big gasp for air. Shaking his head off he coughed. "Do you have any idea how hard it is to hold my breath with two penises in my face? It's almost impossible!"

"Who in the Great Gummi are you?!" Gruffi exclaimed as he looked over the horned animal looked at him.

"Oh, I'm Gabumon. Pleased to meet you!"

"And why were you staring at our crotches?"

Gabumon's face turned reddish in color as he looked back and forth between the two. "Uh well... I heard screams and saw you two running toward the river, I hid under the water just hoping you'd be in and out, I guess I briefly forgot I needed oxygen...sorry."
