It was a few days later when I felt a warm wet lick across my hand, and then fur something nudging at my hand that was hanging off the bed. The soft beeping of the medical machines beeped ever louder. The noon news was playing in a room down the hall, , nurses' rubber souls, where squeaking down the tile of the hallwayarea
I could feel sticky pads on my chest, and heard the beeping of a machine, a heart monitoring machine, I didn't half way watch reruns of ER for nothing, to know that.
A soft knock was at the door and then it opening..
"Hi there Mr. oliver, I see that you're awake, is your friend here going to bite me , if I get closer to you?" Asked the person , who didn't introduce themself to me with a name or anything.
I didn't give them the dignity of answering.
"Well okay then, let's see, Bp looks good,
A other knock sounded at the door, Connor jumping up his tail wagging, his tail banging against the Metal frame of the bed. soon the door opened n in came my parents,, my mom already crying as she hugged me almost to death.
:Oh Roe, I can't believe what that boy did to you,." She said , still hugging me, her grip loosing just a bit.
by this point I was sitting up in bed, with Connor just about in the bed with me "Connor, I'm fine, get off the bed." I tried to command him, with him not paying attention to my commands as he licked me for the 100th time since I woke to him licking my hand.
Once more there was a knock at the door, as I heard a shy hello com from behind the closed door.
"It's fine you can come in dear." Mom said to the person behind the closed door. The door opened and Connor ran off to greeet the incoming person. I heard Connor jump on the person with Very happy lickson the face.
Then Connor being pushed off and the person getting closer to my bed side.
I could smell a familiar cologne. It was Alex I would know that smell anywhere. Then I felt his arms around me, hugging me for dear life, for his life and mine at the same time. I heard mom and dad aww at us as I blushed at the contact but didn't pull away from it, just hugging Alex harder.
His hug was released but not before he kissed me on the cheek. Once more I blushed..
"Glad to see you conscious, hun." Alex said to me.
I was lost for words at what to say, to this guy who my family had so far embraced as their own. As his family had done the same for me. I sighed in
contentment as I settled back in bed and just listen to Alex and my parents talk for a bit.
