A phoenix under-estimates the risks of cheating the local crime boss.

~ The phoenix turned in her chair and gave the Synth a long stare and a sigh as he entered the tucked away room.

~ "I must've done a fine job today, what with this meeting with tha boss, no?", mused the phoenix.

~ The Synth simply glared as he settled down into a seat across the table, letting the battered gas cylinder he'd been carrying whunk heavily against the floor.

~ "Let's settle up on the things we both know, pretty bird, shall we?", offered the Synth to a confused nod from the hen.

~ "Your shipment today was pretty light of a load, but nothing was missing.", pulling a wrench up from his belt.

~ "And there's a new boss who wants onto my turf to sell the same goods, but you don't plan to give me any details about that.", slotting the wrench into the cylinder's valve.

~ "And if I try to knock you around, fwoomf, fire everywhere. If I try to laughing gas ya, bigger fwoomf.", opening the tank to a loud hissing.

~ The phoenix scrambled out of her chair to a standing posture, the edges of her wings lighting up as she glared across the table with confusion.

~ The Synth simply smiled as he explained, "Is suppose nitrogen and a locked door should be enough to put you in a volunteering mood, eh?", reclining into his seat.

~ The phoenix slammed against the firm door, before looking back to the Synth and the canister hissing into the closed room.
