Den of Frost
"Den of Frost"
I sit here in my closet,
The door is open wide.
With patience I am waiting,
For you to come inside.
A beast within the darkness bound,
No sunlight on my wall.
In silent sadness longing still,
For you to hear my call.
A ventured paw into the light,
Withdrawn as quickly when.
I see without the dancing eyes,
That I long to bring in.
I fear my grace is older now
I fear my song is lost.
Upon these ears beloved long
Upon this den of frost.
Do I see you beckoning?
Do I hear you speak?
I must confess the years alone
Have left me cold and weak.
But dare a glance within the cave
Dare another try
I vow to you the loyalty
That others left to die.
