Introduction to Manipulators: Various Species of Manipulator
The manipulators (also known as Manotechs) are grouped into 6 different species, each differentiated by color, and general strengths and weaknesses.
The first on the line are the Alpha manipulators, so named because they were the first species the Power Cells developed during Ivase Zabtains experiments. The coloration of an Alphas feathers is stark, almost sickly white for both Male and Female. They have the characteristic grey flesh beneath, though, as all manipulators do. Alpha's are weak, being the most fragile, having the lowest telekinetix (their lesser brain is quite small), and having only 75% of the average muscle density for manipulators. They are, however, extremely intelligent (their greater brain is huge). More so than every other species. Alphas, being that their 'specialty' is mental, can be afflicted with a genetic mutation known as "Tri Brained." See "Granitis, Tri Brains, and Flats" for more information.
The second species of manipulator is the Digi manipulator. They are so named because they have the fastest and strongest Data Stream of the original 3 manipulator species. They evolved at the same time as the third species, which I'll cover next. The Digi manipulators are extremely durable, able to survive much more punishment than any other species. They are also very swift and nimble. Because of their durability and grace, many Digis train in manual combat, whether for fun or for military use. Coloration of Digi is cool green for males, and warm green for females. It can be any shade within those areas of color. Digi manipulators have regular average telekinetix, and average muscle density. Digis can be affected by the "Graniti" mutation. See "Granitis, Tri Brains, and Flats" for more information.
The third species of manipulator is the Exo manipulator. So named for their mastery of weaponry and artifacts at range (as in, away from their figure). They are the strongest species, their muscles being about 150% more dense than average (which means the average one can bench about 60 pounds). Because of their strength, Exos in the military generally train in ranged weaponry, because they can lift and carry all the big guns without using telekinetix. They can take up a wide variety of duties that make use of their ability within civilian life. Even with all their strength, Exos are almost as fragile as Alphas. Coloration for Exo manipulators is blue for males, and indigo or violet for females. Exo manipulators have regular average telekinetix. It can be any shade in these areas. Exos can be effected by the Graniti mutation.
The fourth species is the Power manipulator. They have a balance in power and endurance that sets them right in between Digi- and Exo manipulators. Powers have touch skin, totaling about half the endurance of Digi manipulators, and their muscles are 75% denser than average. Power manipulators still have regular average telekinetix. Coloration for Power manipulators is yellow for females, and orange for males. Powers can be affected by the Graniti mutation.
The fifth species is the Biothaano. Biothaano have below regular average telekinetix (not a low as Alphas), average muscle density, slightly above average intelligence. The thing that sets Biothaano apart is that they are the only species of manipulator that has a biological immune system. All other species of manipulator rely on their internal computer and the Data Stream to protect them from illness. As consequence for having an immune system, a biothaano's computer suffers. In the other species half of the body is made up of hardware controlled and monitored by the computer, and the Data Stream flows over the whole of the body. In biothaanos, the computer is consolidated to whichever arm it developed in while they're in the egg, and the Data Stream flows only between the computer and the organic brains. The rest of their body is organic (which isn't a bad thing). Biothaanos can be a myriad of colors. They have no feathers, and are usually a little weighted around the middle. They aren't affected by Tri Brained or Graniti.
The sixth species of manipulator is the Omega manipulator. So named because they are the last to evolve. Omegas are very anal about their feathers, but not even they know why. You could say they're the least intelligent of the manipulators, but that is because their lesser and greater organic brains are reversed. Omegas are the most powerful at telekinetix, their average rating being more than double the regular average. They get their power because it is their greater brain that is delegated for telekinetix, as opposed to the lesser brain as with other species. However, because their greater brain isn't used for thought, their intelligence suffers. Coloration for Omegas is black or dark grey for females, and white or light grey for males. Omega manipulators have average muscle density. Omegas can be afflicted with Tri Brained.
NOTE: When I say 'regular average,' with regards to telekinetix, I'm talking about the average for Digi, Exo, and Power manipulators. When I talk about average for muscle density, I'm referring to the average muscle density of Digis, Omegas, and Biothaano.
