"The space station Pulsar's taken us to is a lot more unkempt than I'm used to. The outside is a factory brown misshapen structure of pipes and spires, compared to the clean well-lit spherical stations of the Federation. Even the airlock we entered through had a dirty orange lighting, as if it was duct-taped together. The inside isn't much better, as it looks more like a terrestrial warehouse than an advanced floating facility. The people here look well armed, many of them creatures I've never seen bef" Hyper suddenly cut himself off from writing when pulsar stared at his recorder. "Already told you, if you're trying to signal for help, nobody can reach you out here." Hyper glared back at pulsar before covering it. "I'm not signaling for help, I'm logging my encounters, It's standard federation procedure when in situations like this." "My god, are you going to Marry the Federation? You talk about them so much!" Hyper went to open his mouth before getting cut off. "Nevermind, we're coming up to a seller now, so I can get you some mining equipment."

Hyper barely walked a few minutes away before someone was calling out for him. "Hey! Feddie! What are you doing away from your master?" "..." "You heard me! What, you think you're free around here or something?" Hyper still tried not to respond, but he'd glance in the direction of the voices, seeing a much larger, armored spiky looking creature with what looked to be shades over their eyes. "I have no master?" Suddenly a second one appears next to them. "Wrong answer, you'd make the perfect slave!" Hyper started to back up from the two. "I'm no slave! As a commander for the Federation-" Before he could finish he could feel something behind him, and would barely duck out of the way from a swipe of one of their claw-like appendages. "Feddie scum ain't got no right coming into our territory! You're coming with us!" Immediately Hyper jumped onto his fours and broke into a sprint, with the other three giving chase. They were faster, though he was able to jump to the right when one lunged their claws at him. Then jumped to the left to as another jumped at him. As two nearly reached him with their claws he'd jump to a stop suddenly and force them to skid in front of him, and he'd suddenly find an alleyway to duck behind. The alley was a dead end, but that didn't stop him from turning around, and taking a deep breath and breathing a wall of ice over it. The three creatures soon caught up to him, and he'd almost give a smile of relief seeing them behind his new wall.

Though, they would then start using jet pack to float over the wall, and he'd panic and breathed over it to form a little igloo around himself. One wound up on top of him, the other behind and another in front, and the one on top started slamming on the ice, causing a crack in it. He'd panic some more and started digging through the front, when a big meaty claw grabs him by the neck and held him up to examine. "Check it out, this one's fuzzy too!" They'd shout, before they'd be greeted by Hyper's last frigid breath icing over their eyes and face. In shock they'd loosen up a bit for Hyper to kick their chest and break away into another sprint. Not having any solid direction and half the time glancing back he'd find himself happening upon the station's hanger, with Pulsar's ship still sitting where he left it. The Ramp opened up under the ship, and Pulsar stepped out, pointing a blaster towards Hyper and making his heart sink into his chest, before he'd realize the flash of light that hit harmlessly_Near_his feet and bounced off the floor to stop his pursuers in their tracks. Hyper didn't even think twice about rushing past them into the ship like it was his home, and he'd quickly find himself resting on the ground with heavy panting. Pulsar got back into the pilot's seat, and took the ship off fast enough to blow away anyone foolish enough to sit under it.

After one short trip, they'd arrive at an orange gassy planet this time, with Hyper being made to float outside and cut apart rocks to find and separate the more valuable materials. It was a few hours worth of floating and being very uncoordinated (Not to mention fairly unmotivated) with his new job, but eventually they'd have a ship full of cargo and one exhausted pix. "Wow, for someone who claims to be a commander you really can't seem to find your direction in zero G" "Hey! I can float! I did it before...just before my ship crashed..." Hyper would say between pants, as the Umbreon would walk up and offer to help him to his feet. "Well, you did alright, maybe I should start paying you." Hyper glared at them for even suggesting that, and they'd just smile back and help him up. "Don't worry, if not we're close to one of my suppliers, so I'll have some money at least." "Riiiight, by the way, do you always mine on such well-known backwater worlds? I've seen at least a dozen craft fly past out there." Pulsar then started flying out of the ring system ready to warp again "Of course, no one's gonna find us in this sea of ships, and even if they could scan us e're too heavily armed to be worth the trouble." "...my ship was armed..." "Your ship had twin lazer pointers and a bright neon sign that said 'I have rare valuable materials please rob me'. Plus mine has a stealth coating." Just as they proceeded out of the ring system however, there was a rapid buzzing sound that made Hyper's heart sink and his eyes widening. "No way, how are they scanning us?" Pulsar mutters, their tone for once sounding surprised. What's worse is that when Hyper checked the scanners, he'd find 3 ships flying behind them in delta formation, and a flashback from his recent attack suddenly became very clear and paralyzing. "Give up the unique cargo and we'll leave you be." Was the deep voice that came through the coms.

"Get it yourself! There's a whole planet do-" "The stowaway Feddie, he found his way onto your ship against his captor's orders." Pulsar's eyes lit up, realizing who they were and how they were found, before clearing their throat. "My CO-PILOT is not a stowaway, and will take you on in a heartbeat. You see our weapons, stand down!" The ships would continue to advance, and Pulsar would quickly send the ship down into the ring system. With frantic adjustments to the ship's shield systems, they'd shout to the pix. "Hey Co-Pilot! Get over here!" Though to him, the sounds outside all started to blend together. His paws grasping and shifting at invisible controls, and a cacophony of ship warnings and blaster fire replay in his head as he'd desperately try to recall what to do.

"Fuz-HYPER! I need you!" Suddenly, Pulsar's voice would peirce through, along with the very real sounds and shaking from lazers hitting their shields. Finally coming to his senses, Hyper would run up to the pilot's chair, opening his mouth to ask but was then greeted by a Co-pilot's seat being slid into him. "Joystick on your right, top-turret!" Hyper took a moment to recoil from a seat being thrown at them, just when Pulsar made a High-G climb up into the ring field. Dodging rocks and more lazers. When Hype finally did reach the turret, he could see on the screen fill with the thin, angular ships that butchered his. In dread and anger, he'd wildly opened fire with a turret lazer, though while barely hitting anyone and scraping some dirt off the rocks. Pulsar then had an idea, and shouted back at Hyper again.

"Hey! I'm going to need you to go down to the engine bay and eject one of the fuel cells!" "Are you crazy?! We'll need that fu-" "Which of us 2 were shot down?" "I...I..." "Exactly! We don't have many options, get it done!" Hyper couldn't argue, and ran to the engine room. He'd frantically worked to remove one of the 2 large fuel cells, watching it drop to the floor when a stray blast suddenly busted through the back hull of the ship. The vacuum of space pulled out the heavy fuel cell first, though Hyper started to slide forwards with it, with his claws not even slowing him down on the metal floor and he'd shout. Though just before being pulled into the war-zone behind him, the pilot had slit in with a mad dash! Grabbing Hyper's paw with both of theirs as their feet stood spread out just past the hole. They'd strained to pull Hyper in, with him climbing up onto them. Before the hole could be gel-sealed, Pulsar would then find the floating fuel cell, take aim with their blaster, close their eyes and. Boom, in a flash of light, Hyper was out again.

When he came to, the damaged room had been hastily sealed over, and Pulsar was up stumbling in the pilot's seat, frantically pushing the ship behind a large rock and then turning off most of it's systems. A classic trick, leaving their dark craft undetected by the small pirate craft slowly trailing past completely unaware. "Are we still alive?" Hyper would try to ask before getting cutoff, Pulsar seeming to have forgotten how sound doesn't travel in space. "Yes...but we still have to wait for them to leave." Was a whisper back. So, they waited. Their ship as quiet as Hyper's when it drifted damaged in space, as the smaller ships turned around, and flew in their erratic search patterns. 10 minutes...then 20, then 30 minutes go by, with those ships even nearing their asteroid a few times. Though eventually they'd finally break away from the ring system, and have their craft disappeared in a flash. "Finally! I can't believe they didn't scan us!" "Because they didn't know where to look" Pulsar would say with some confidence, starting their ship back up. "We just have to drop off this ore and then we can go back home." Hyper smiled at that news, before looking over at Pulsar's stern expression and now realizing it wouldn't be HIS home. "Right, your...whatever place... you do have a home right?" "We'll get there." And then Pulsar blasted off with the throttle!

On the way there, Pulsar suddenly turned to Hyper. "By the way, when we get there, we will be scanned, so you'll have to come with me inside." "Can't I just stay and pilot the ship?" "They don't trust people they haven't met. Also..." They then got out the seat, held a paw to their chin and stared up and down Hyper. "Since you'll be my Co-pilot, you'll need some battle scars. Let's go wiiith..." They then pulled out their blaster, and held it right up to Hyper's eye. "A classic, eye burn." Hype immediately jumped back into a wall. "NO! You are NOT going to burn me!" "It's a small burn, so it wouldn'-" "BURN, think about that for a second!" Pulsar looked over the snowy kitsune for a moment, and without hesitation, flipped out a metal blade. "Well, these usually hurt more..." Hyper just rolled his eyes and huffed. "Any plan that doesn't involve hurting me?" Pulsar thought for a moment, and then tossed Hyper an all black helmet. "You could be the mysterious, silent type." Though all it took was a little bit of fumbling with the helmet for Hyper to reply. "I can't see shit in this thing!" "Need to hold my paw?" "NO." "Well it's plan A or plan B. And you'll need to take off your Fed clothes." "I'm not taking off my..." Hyper would try to argue, though no matter what, Pulsar stared him down, and tossed him a black bodysuit with none of the blue Federation markings.

"Unlike the other station, this one held a black diamond shape, and some actual patrols orbiting in formation. We had to show ID before docking, though Pulsar made one for me because of course they'd know forgery. There were at least 3 other barriers between us and landing, and when we got out we faced down by floating drones, and very tall creatures with their appearances concealed. I was told to keep looking straight ahead, avoid glancing around too much or show any emotions. Even though looking around revealed this place traded in high powered weapons, and what looked to be slaves. Pulsar meanwhile gave a high-sounding sale price, which got shot down lower by our buyers, and was haggled on to until it was still high, but much more reasonably lowered. We then let them take our shipment, and were off again."

"Pulsar kept the dark helmet over my eyes so I wouldn't know the exact coordinates. Though, when we arrived it wasn't much. Empty space with just a small trail of asteroids. I was tempted to ask where the true home base was but one look at pulsar's face, as we kept going down only confirmed it. 'Your base is on a rock?' 'A large one!' They'd smile back and I kept the look of disbelief. 'You know how much it'd cost just to keep a place with low gravity and no atmosphere maintained right?' 'Exactly! No one would suspect our home out here, and no one attacks.' That point did make sense to me, even though the view and atmosphere looked to be piss-poor. Coming up to the largest asteroid revealed a nice sized spherical base covered in dark reflective paint. The lights coming on was the only way it was visible to me, and soon it'd open up for us to land inside. The interior was big, and had more personality than the utilitarian bases I'm used to. There were trophy sets, some toys strewn about, a novelty bar, multiple computer screens, and multiple rooms. Clearly, someone else must've lived there, but every time I brought up the question to pulsar the answer was 'You're the only person I work with' and nothing else. Even still, Pulsar had a room prepared for me, and all I could think about was getting some rest after the crazy day.
