The Frozen Terror
#2 of Welcome To Asgard
As if being dead wasn't enough Zeng had been taken from his family, his friends and everything else he had known all his life in a single moment, though Asgard was the perfect paradise with it's city and the women were everything a man could dream of but none of it mattered.
"Zeng?"
"Hey Angel...."
Angel felt it was her fault since her uncle gave the order that Zeng be brought to Asgard which was strange since he never worshiped any of the gods, all he did was lean on the balcony of his new room and looked onto the horizon just beyond the gates of asgard no doubt thinking of his time in the hunt and how his adventures brought him to meet Angel and all his other friends.
"Zeng....I am truly sorry for what my family has done..."
"What did I ever do to offend them? true I did not worship them or practiced their traditions yet they still allowed me to their paradise...I don't understand..."
"Then let me help you to understand."
Angel held his hand as he looked at her he smiled as she escorted him out of the room to show him the many sights of asgard, it seemed to be going well when suddenly a wolf flew in from above carrying a thundering hammer and wearing a crimson red cape.
"THOR!!"
"*laughs* little Angel! it's good to see you again in asgard! and who is this?"
"This is Zeng, the one i've been telling you about. Zeng this is my cousin Thor, prince of Asgard."
"Ah! Angel has told me much of your heroic deeds in midgard and I must apologize in our rash decision to bring you here for you see you have been summoned in the most dangerous time of asgard; The Odin Sleep."
"The Odin Sleep?"
"Yes. You see Zeng every winter my uncle Odin must rest to regain his powers until spring and without him the city is vulnerable to its enemies, all of which who want to sieze control of asgard."
It all began to make sense to him now, Zeng had been brought to asgard knowing he would make a valuable ally against its enemies and his experiece as a hunter would prove useful in battle as Thor continued where Angel left off.
"The siege goes on for seven days with a neverending onslaught of trolls, giants, demons and dark elves and should they suceed in their attack the rainbow bridge between here and the mortal world will be open to them and then comes ragnarok."
Before they could say anything else a sudden chill came in with the breeze and a horn was sounded at the gates while the soldiers poured out of the city while Thor stared in the horizon as he gripped his hammer.
"It has begun...come cousin!"
"Zeng I understand if you're still angry with my family but i'm still your friend and I wont force you into this...."
Both Angel and Thor flew off toward the army that had been mobilized behind the gate and as Zeng looked at his axe and smolder he mounted the last horse in the city and rode off to join them. Meanwhile at the gates thor stood above the army as their enemies came into view as a blizzard came out of nowhere and in the distance giant shadows covered the horizon.
"Frost giants...."
"It begins now-FOR ODIN!! FOR ASGAAARD!!!!!"
The soldiers joined thor in his battle cry as the first line of giants came charging in, line after line the defenders of asgard fell beneath their icy hammers but among them was the infamous warriors three; Hogun, Fandral and Volstagg who were close friends of Thor.
"HA HA HAAAH!! come Hogun! Fandral! let us give unto these scoundrels the gift of BATTLE!!"
"Easy Volstagg! there's plenty to go around!"
"GAAAAAAARRRRGH!!!!"
"Hm? well a new face in asgard."
"Zeng!"
Zeng charged in on his horse with his axe drawn and in one swift blow he cleaved the leg off the first frost giant then leaped onto his chest to deliver the final blow as smolder was plunged into his chest.
"Zeng! you came!"
"BEHIND YOU!!"
Angel instantly reacted as she blasted the frost giant with a powerful lightning blast as the battle raged on with the frost giants in full retreat, though many of the soldiers fell in battle asgard celebrated with its first victory and among the crowd Zeng saw a young valkyrie wolfess next to Angel and something overcame him as he walked toward the two while Angel whispered something into her ear before leaving the two of them.
"You must be Zeng, I saw your skills in the battlefield. very impressive. I am Tanya by the way."
"Glad to meet you and I couldn't have done so well without this *pulls out axe* I found it before I was killed..."
Tanya looked carefully at the weapon and could tell it was forged by the asgardian smiths and saw its name written into the handle of the sword.
"The weapons name is "Armads" weapons like this one are very powerful, i'd keep this close."
Zeng nodded in agreement as she waved goodbye while grabbing another cup of mead. Zeng couldn't explain why he just walked up to her without a care in the world as he simply gulped down his mug and enjoyed the feast.
