Chapter 4-Was I Too Late?
#4 of Suicide Series # 2
* I think that this chapter will make up for the last chapter. It a lot longer and i a lot more mean to myself. I think you guys will probably hate me because of the cliffhanger. I even started the next chapter(If there is a next chapter) either so you will have to wait this time. Sorry but i will post it once i finish. Enjoy and leave comments.*
Chapter 4-Was I Too Late?
I left the building, feeling very unconformable. I didn't want to know what they were planning for me. I keep getting the feeling that I was being watch and I now I was paranoid.
I walked into the parent's office and they could tell that something was wrong.
"Drake, what happened to you? You look as if you saw a ghost."
"I just found out who was all behind my wife death."
"Who?"
"My foster parents. They hired some assassin to kill my wife, hoping the shock will make me kill myself. Now that it didn't succeed, they are having the assassin come after me."
"What are the police doing?"
"They are trying to catch the assassin before it too late. I better warn Kevin before he stuck inside all this trouble too."
Kevin
Kevin was walking to the mall, where he was going to meet his date. He was at the food court and he waited happily. He waited for a little bit until this tall dragon meets him. He had dark purple scales, with black horns and blue eyes. His eyes would sparkle and it would catch the attention of everybody. He was muscle but not that much and he was about six feet two.
"Hello, you must be Kevin."
Kevin blushed and nodded. He never thought that he date would be even better looking then the pictures he saw of him.
The other dragon laughs and looked at him with a grinned smiled.
"Well maybe I should introduce myself, my name is Adam."
"Well Adam, I think that this is going to be an interesting date."
"That it is, now come on, the movie about to start."Both Kevin and Adam started to walk to the movies. They were going to see "Avatar" in 3-D. Kevin had never seen the movie, and he also haven't seen a movie in 3-D but he was excited. He was on a date with Adam and nothing could ruin this moment for him.
They went inside and sat the back of the theater. Before the movie started, Kevin turns off his cell phone. Kevin and Adam were having a great time with each other and towards the middle of the movie; Kevin rested his head on Adam's shoulder and Adam laugh. He started to rub Kevin back as they continue watching the movie.
Drake
"Well is he answering?"
"No, I think his phone is off."
I was nervous for him more than myself. If the assassin was going after Kevin I swear I would chase the assassin to the end of the world. I don't care if I die in the process. I will die with a smile on my face if I know that the assassin was killed.
I started to walk back and forth and I was grabbing my head.
"What if something happens to him? What if the assassin kills him in front of me? What will happen to Kevin? What going to happen to me?"
"Drake calm down, everything is going to be okay. Nothing going to happen to Kevin, besides he can take care of himself if he in trouble."
"Yeah, I guess and he also on a date right now, so they can help too."
"See, he will be fine. Don't worry everything going to be okay."
"Alright, now what are you going to teach me today?'
"Well today we will..."
Kevin
Kevin was having a wonderful time on his date and when the movie was over both of them got up to leave.
"That was a fun date, to bad it had to end now," Kevin said and he lowered his ears, disappointed that the date was over.
"Well it doesn't have to end here. To be honest, I lied about staying out late. I wanted the date to be early so I can go on another date with you."
"Really, you did that for me?"
"Yeah, I think you are cute and you have a great personality."
"Thank you, so where do you want to go next?"
"I'm kind of hungry, how about a dinner?"
"Alright, but how about we go bowling instead. They have food and we can bowl as well."
"I never bowl before."
"Neither have I. So I guess this will be a first foe us."
"I don't know if I have enough money to pay for it though."
"I'll pay. My dad has lots of money from his job."
"What does you dad do?"
"He was a composer for Music for All."
"You dad was a composer! I loved classical music. What is his name?"
"Drake Lawler."
"You dad is Drake Lawler. His works are beautiful as well as changeling."
"I know; I did band in high school."
"I loved you dad's work. He pieces were my favorite to play."
"How would you like to meet him later today?"
"I'll love that."
They continue to the bowling lanes and they started to play. They were bad but they were having lots of fun. They high school after the first round was 89 and 92, with Adam beating Kevin. It was after the first round that Kevin forgot to turn on his phone. He had no massages, so he thought that everything was okay.
They continue to bowl until they food arrived. They out the game on hold and they ate. They talk more about me and how I was an inspiration to them. Then it got really random fast and it went to watching a snail on the ground. They were both having fun and Kevin felt that Adam could be the one he marries when they a little older.
It was getting late and they both had to go home soon but then Kevin remembers what he told Adam.
"Hey Adam, do you want to come home with me. You can meet my dad, he should be home."
"Why wouldn't he be home? He making music isn't he?"
"Not anymore, I guessing you didn't hear."
"Hear what?"
"Music for All is no longer working, it was cut down."
"What, why?"
"The government claimed that it was not a necessity job."
"What next, movies?"
"I know; I hate it too."
"So where's you dad working now?"
"He is training to become the V.P. at my grand parents business."
"Well at lease he is working again."
"I also glad he feeling better."
"What happened?"
"Well... I tell you when we get there."
"Alright."
They both flew to my house, since they had their license, and got there to see I wasn't there.
"Whoa, this is where you live?"
"Yeah."
"It huge."
"I know, come on let go inside."
Kevin unlocked the front door and opened the door. He walked inside and let Adam inside.
"So are you going to tell me what happened to you and your father?"
"Two days ago, I came into town and I found my dad crying a lot. It was also the saddest day of my life too but I think is was much worst for him. That day, I found out that my mom was murder."
All the light and happiness in Adam eyes died as he heard what happened.
"I'm so sorry Kevin."
"It okay, I know that she is in a better place now."
"Yeah, so I'm guessing that your dad didn't take it to well."
"No, he was ready to kill him but him feeling better now."
"I glad he feeling better but what about you?"
"I'm okay; I haven't talked to her in a while because I was traveling the world."
Adam still felt sad for Kevin and he wanted him to fell better but he couldn't think of anything.
Kevin then asked Adam about his life and what he wanted to do with his life.
Drake
"Okay, now I have a headache, can we stop?"
"Yeah, we covered a lot today and you did very well. At this rate, you be V.P. in two days."
"Alright, let's go home."
I walked over to my car and started to drive home. My parents were still in the factory though. They couldn't leave until everybody left. They were the ones that locked the factory and put in the security codes.
When I got home, I saw Kevin and an unknown dragon talking a lot and laughing. I only assume that the other dragon was Kevin's date.
"Hello Kevin, I going to make dinner, you guys want anything?"
"No thanks. Dad let me introduce you to Adam, his is my new boyfriend."
"Hello Adam, sorry but I have a headache and it really hurts right now."
"The medication should be in the cabinet in the kitchen dad."
"Thanks," I walked up to the cabinet and took two pills for my headache.
I walked back into the room and I notice that Adam was blushing a bit, and Kevin was whispering something into his ear.
"Um Mr. Lawler, you were a composer weren't you?"
"Yeah, I love making music, I can still make music but the chances of it being sold aren't too high."
"I really loved you works."
"You were in band?"
"Yeah, and I loved playing your pieces in band."
"Which one was your favorite?"
"Probably the one you called 'Suicide'."
"Why is that?"
"Probably because it was the one that was different from the others, it had a soft beginning, a rough middle and a beautiful ending."
"Did you read the program notes?"
"No, but my band teacher did. He said that you based it off your life."
"I did; I sorry but I getting hungry. Let continue this later okay?"
"Okay."
I walked into the kitchen and made myself a quick dinner. I was hungry but when I have a headache I can't eat that much."
Once I finished I saw Adam getting up and heading towards the door with Kevin.
"Goodbye Adam, hope to see you again."
"Bye, Mr. Lawler."
"I see you tomorrow."
"Yeah, I'm going to miss you Kevin."
"Me too Adam."
Kevin locks the door after Adam left and he turn around and sat in the sofa.
"What wrong son?"
"Nothing, I just a bit tired. What about you, how was your day?"
"Nerve reeking."
"Why?"
"I just found out whom behind the murder of Serah."
"How is it? Did the police catch them?"
"It was my foster parents, and they hired an assassin to kill her, now the assassin after me and you."
"What id the police doing?"
"Trying to catch them before it too late."
"That all; can't they get the information out of your foster parents?"
"No, they tried everything but death."
"What about us? What going to happened to us?"
"I don't know but we are going to have to be more careful."
"Great, that means we can't stay out too late now can't we?"
"We can but we need to be careful. If you feel like your being watch, then come back here okay."
"Understood."
Both Kevin and I called it a night and went to sleep.
The next morning, everything seems okay but for some reason it felt different. It felt as if somebody came inside the house and took something of mine but that couldn't happen because of the security we have. Kevin went into the living room while I went to the kitchen.
"What anything for breakfast?"
"No, I'm going out to eat."
"Okay, be careful."
"I will, goodbye dad."
Kevin went out the door and I started to cook myself some pancakes. I was not too hungry but I should get something inside my stomach while I still can.
As I finished eating the pancakes, I heard a voice inside my head.
~Drake! Hurry our son is in danger! ~
I jumped and I turn around quickly.
"Who said that? Show your self!"
~Drake, hurry up! Our soon is going to die if you don't hurry up and get him inside! ~
That voice, it sounded so familiar but I could figure it out. It took me a minute to realize that it belonged to Serah.
"Serah, is that you? Where is Kevin?"
~It is me Drake. Now hurry Kevin is on his way to his favorite restaurant! You will have to fly there if you want to get there on time! Now go save our son! ~
I quickly got up and rushed out the door. I flew straight into the air heading towards Kevin. I was hoping that I wouldn't be too late. I landed by the restaurateur and I saw Kevin walking over here.
"Kevin you need to get over here now. You are in danger."
Kevin turns his head and he saw me and he started to walk towards me.
Then out of nowhere, a gun shot and I saw Kevin fall down to the ground. I quickly rushed over to where he was. I didn't get far either because I heard another gun shot and I felt pain all across my chest. I look down and saw a lot of blood coming out by the area by my heart. I fell down to the ground and I hit the ground heavily. Everything was turning black and I couldn't hear anything, I couldn't even move.
~I'm sorry Serah, I failed. ~
