#10 of Inktober 2019

Inktober 2019, day ten. Pattern. A musical pattern, in this case. I might have watched a few too many videos on YouTube about complex music concepts lately.

One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. The electronic music fired up at the beginning of the show. Pyrotechnics showered the stage as the performer began the act. A steady pattern underlined the beginning of the set, with a slowly evolving melodic figure above. Lights shifted color in time with the music, following a steady pattern of colors to go along with the show, creating a simple synesthesia for the crowd to enjoy.

As the evening progressed, the music and the movements of the crowd became increasingly complex. The once-steady rhythm began to shift in tempo. Crowd members followed along, enthralled by the experience. Increasingly complex rhythms demanded similarly complex patterns of movement from those music to the music.

Midnight struck and the show came to an end. People started to talk about the transcendental experience, caring about how they felt, not the complex music theory behind the performance that had captured their minds. The patterns that only a non-human mind could have created, but that required genius to bring to a varied audience.

The Chromebold was happy with the response, as ever. It loved the challenge.
