Lone Wolf

The screech of steel pierced through his headphones, not even the high intensity bass that was pumping could hope to muffle the deafening sound. It didn't help that his transformation had increased his hearing far beyond that of the humans around him, his canine ears made wearing those small earphones he saw impossible. But that didn't bother Lukas in the least what did bother him however was the fact that he was standing on the wrong side of the platform. Ever since January 2nd also known as T-Day everything had been converted into either a human side or a furry side. Since only thirty percent of the entire worlds populace was transformed all the furry allocated places were much smaller than those that were allocated to humans. But Lukas didn't really care about that either, not much really bothered him as long as he had a job, and at least one friend. Most furries didn't have the former but luckily Lukas's boss had also transformed along with him, the friend side was quite a bit harder though he was a naturally shy person when it came to approaching random people. All these thought passed through his mind as he strode through the sea of humans to get to the furry train car. He hated the train most of the time, mainly because a lot of furries didn't wash themselves much. Mainly because most of them didn't have a house, most of them didn't have a job either.

As Lukas entered the train car he realized that the usual stench wasn't present, he looked around to find none of the usual homeless on the train. His mouth broadened into a smile as he took in a deep breath of clean air, with a subtle hint of rose? He sniffed the air again this time focusing on that faint rosy smell; he followed his nose down the car intoxicated by the strange aroma. Slowly the perfume intensified until Lukas found himself standing over a beautiful tigress. He blushed instantaneously when he saw her warm ice blue eyes staring straight up at him. Lukas opened his mouth to say that she smelt amazing but then his shyness kicked into high gear lodging what felt like a boulder sized lump into his throat so that no sound could escape his mouth. The tigress just kept staring at him patiently, when she saw that he couldn't say a thing she giggled. She moved over and offered the now vacant spot next to her for Lukas; he nodded and timidly sat down. A sigh escaped his mouth as he was finally able to rest his large footpaws for a while. Lukas removed his headphones so that he could hear the calming clacking of the train rolling on by.

The train ride took about twenty minutes to reach Lukas's stop, many different furries had passed though the train. Though the rose smelling tigress that he sat next to had not moved, well maybe a little bit closer when a scary looking bear hopped onto the train halfway through the trip. Lukas tried not to pay attention to the bear. Lukas could have probably tossed the bear back and forth like a toy; his many years learning both judo and kung fu had made Lukas into a toned and sculpted fighting machine. He just detested fighting and showing off his skills. The train finally announced his stop, he stood and walked out the door not noticing the tigress had stayed in his shadow the entire time. The wolf started off on his way to work, he noticed that people always stared at him whenever he arrived on the platform human and furry alike. Wondering to himself why they had not yet seemed to have gotten used to him yet.

His work wasn't far away from the train station which was a good thing. Lukas approached the small computer store's front door he noticed a tigress was right behind him. It was the same one that he had sat next on the train had followed him all the way to his place of work. He quickly dashed into the store, his mind racing, what did she want? Why had she followed him? He kept his pace and flew right past his boss into the back of the store. Lukas's boss stared after his only employee couldn't think of why the wolf was in such a hurry; he wasn't late.

In the back of the store Lukas was gasping for breath; his heart beating a mile a minute. That young tigress had followed him all the way here; no one ever followed him ever. She didn't look like the type who was into computers or anything nerdy; so he didn't ever think that she was here to buy anything. The door to the store opened as Lukas's boss entered through the too small door frame, the ten foot Draconian-Fox having to crouch to squeeze through the opening. He looked down at Lukas quizzically "Not greeting your boss at the start of your shift is always a good way to lose your job Luke," he stated rhetorically shortening Lukas's name mostly because he was too lazy to say it fully. "Let me guess your nerves took over when you noticed that sexy little tigress standing behind you?"

Lukas nodded ashamedly his head hung low. "She followed me all the way from the train station," he admitted slowly finally getting his frantic heart under control. "Sorry 'bout all of that though Danail."

Danail nodded at the apology and moved to the side revealing the tigress that they were talking about. "Well you might as well get used to her 'cause from now on she is your new work college," Danail said walking back through to the front of the store leaving Lukas and the tigress alone together.

As his boss left the tension between the two left in the room was suffocating. Lukas kept his gaze at the floor trying to avoid contact with those striking blue eyes. Lukas turned to face the small locker behind him, Danail had it put there so employees could place their personal belongings somewhere safe. He removed the headphones that lounged around his neck and placed them, along with the iPod attached to them, into the cramped compartment. As Lukas left the room he thought a soft voice called his name. "Hmm..." he mumbled turning to face the beautiful tigress just behind him.

"I asked if your name was Luke?" she asked her voice so smooth that it made silk feel like sandpaper.

"Oh... Um... Yes, it's actually Lukas. But no one calls me that anyway," he replied stuttering and staring intently at his feet. His face blushing red from some feeling that he couldn't recognize, this girl was the first person he had actually talked to apart from his boss. He made a quick exit after that hoping to find some solace in the arduous task of stacking shelves and check products.

All through his shift Lukas had successfully avoided the tigress whose name he had learnt was Altisha. He was removing his iPod from the locker when his sharp canine ear picked up the sound of a muffle squeal coming from the store front. In a sudden rush of adrenaline Lukas burst out the door to see Altisha cornered by three large bears, one he recognized from the train ride. As he quickly surveyed the scene around him he spotted Altisha torn blouse on the ground behind the main bear. His original fear at the site of the three massive bears quickly subsided, replaced by uncontrollable rage. "Hey!" He barked loudy, the three burly bears turning around stupidly dropping Altisha to the floor gasping for breath. "Let her go!" deeply growled Lukas, his rage easily sensed in the aura flaring out from his body.

"Looks like we have a hero here boys, lets teach him the lesson all would be hero's need to learn," grumbled the middle bear. As the sentence finished the smallest of the three launched himself at Lukas. The bear's right arm flew towards Lukas's face. Lukas sidestepped to the left around the blow, spinning he grasped the moving arm tightly. Continuing his spinning motion, Lukas countered the bear's foolish strike with a swift elbow down on the top of the bear's maw. The bear already over balanced could do nothing to stop the blow, it sent him hurtling down to the floor. When the bear made contact with the floor he lost consciousness.

Shortly after seeing his comrade fall the middle bear, the largest of the three stopped his other subordinate signaling that he would finish this fight. The bear strode powerfully forward seeing if he could intimidate Lukas; unfortunately for him Lukas could no longer feel anything other than rage towards the giant. The thug took up a boxing fighting stance; he quickly let out a series of jabs. Lukas having much more speed than the lumbering giant in front of him easily dodged the double left jab. As the bear thrust forward with a devastating right cross, Lukas slapped his right palm into the oncoming fist. Shifting his weight down and to the left Lukas slipped his palm up the inside of the strike, curling his fingertips back at the first knuckle, slamming his right hand up underneath the bear's right shoulder.

The bear screamed out in agony as a loud pop resonated through the small room. Clutching his right shoulder the bear quickly retreated away from the agile wolf. "Get out of here!" Lukas screamed; his canine transformation making sound more like a feral roar. The third bear the one that had not fought quickly slipped by Lukas to pick up his fallen comrade, the three thugs fled like rabbits. Lukas quickly removed the zip up hoodie that he had been wearing and draped it over Altisha's semi naked body. A blush flooded his face when she launched herself into Lukas; her body trembled from the trauma that she had just experienced. "Your safe now," Lukas said protectively, the adrenaline pumping through his veins allowing him to overcome his shyness.

Lukas helped Altisha to her feet and started to walk towards the back room. As soon as he had taken one step the arms wrapped around his mid section gripped tighter; forcing Lukas to turn around. He looked down at the still quivering beauty that was holding onto him for dear life. She stared up at him her ice blue eyes seemed to melt as tears rolled down her face. Lukas brought his thumb up and wiped them away; he smiled warmly down at Altisha. Their eyes connected for the for time, Altisha leaned up on her toes and pressed her beautiful maw against his own. Lukas's face was set alight as he felt those soft lips press against his own, involuntarily his lips pushed back returning the kiss. The deep rumble of Altisha's purr poured out from her body, this symbol of happiness was the only sign that Lukas needed. He wrapped his arms around Altisha own and drew her soft feminine body against his own muscular one.
