the tour of my home.

This is a tour of my Home Tree. It is set into my own personal dimension. Its also written as a group tour so just kind of nod along I guess. Nothing dirty at all in this. Enjoy.

as you walk toward the tree, you notice that it is very tall. taller than that of a sky-scraper. the width is somewhere close to that of the White House. either way, its a big damn tree. once you finally get to the front door, you see that it is a simple wooden folding door, (just like the doors of the Tardis) blue of course. Above the door you see a sign. It reads, "Welcome to Home Tree". once you pass through the door you are in what can only be called a lobby. to your left are stairs leading both up and down. to your right is an elaborate elevator. on the wall in front of you is a large portrait of what looks to be an average human male. the title on the bottom reads, "My Father". you simply shrug with indifference.

you proceed to the left heading for the stairs. after some debate, you decide to descend the stairs in your exploration. once you reach the bottom, there is a wide, long, curving hallway that leads past several doors. as you pass each door, you read the labels of each. "Garage"....."Mini Golf"....."Show Room"....."Memorabilia"....."Hats"......"Elvis' Remains"......"Mad Science Department". after the last door, you realize that the hallway has curved to the point that you have returned to the stairs. you climb the stairs back up to the lobby.

after reaching the lobby, you decide that you have had enough climbing stairs and that its time to try the elevator. you ring for the elevator and when it opens, you step inside. you notice that for such a tall tree, there are only 10 buttons on the selection pad.

1st floor - Lobby

2nd floor - Electronic Entertainments

3rd floor - Library

4th floor - Gymnasium

5th floor - Living Apartments

6th floor - Play Ground / Day Care

7th floor - Kitchen

8th floor - Pantry

9th floor - Private Quarters

10th floor - Observatory

after some debate between the group, you decide to try out the second floor. it takes roughly 9 full seconds for the elevator to reach the second floor. you exit the elevator to find an information sign. on it are listings of this floors departments . such as; an arcade, movie plex, electronic repair, pool hall, bowling area, gamers station. after exploring the different sections of entertainment, you return to the elevator to chose another floor.

some more debate and floor 4 is finally chosen. it takes a full 20 seconds for the elevator to reach its destination this time. after your departure from the elevator, you first come to an equipment room for aerobics. continuing on, you pass rooms for yoga, obstacle courses, a track and field, exercise equipment, swimming pool, sauna, a full spa, shower rooms, and finally a world class boxing arena. your group spends much time on this floor before finally dragging the group member that is an exercise enthusiast back to the elevator for another choice of floor.

ten seconds later they step out in to the library of floor 3. its no wonder the elevator takes time to travel between the floors. the library is simply enormous! the shelves of books must be 3 stories high! the shelves line the walls of the tree itself. a vast circular room with desks and computers in the center. your guide has been silent until now.

"this great library contains a copy of every book ever written. when a new book is written, a copy is automatically placed in its proper location. every type, style, and genre of writing can be found here. just ask the reference computer and the location will be given."

after an hour of waiting, your group once more have to drag one of its members back to the elevator for further floor exploration.

the group argued a bit over what floor to try next until one of them bumped the button for 10. it was the observatory they now headed to. over half a minute later the door opened and took their breath away. the windows were over 42 ft tall and panoramic around the entire room. out side of the windows a deck could be seen to observe from. the group proceeded to the deck. the view was incredible. from the ground, the forest was difficult to see through. but from above, it was a sight to always remember, and kind of romantic as well. back inside the observatory, the group could see three telescopes. two for seeing the scenery, and the third for seeing into the stars. all in all, an impressive display. they all reluctantly returned to the elevator once more.

the button for floor 6 was pushed out of mutual curiosity. once there, the doors opened to reveal a very large well built play ground. once more the guide spoke up. "this is the play ground/day care for those who might soon live here with me. this is for their children to stay out of trouble." nothing else was of much interest to the group, so they returned to the elevator.

the idea of future residents interested them all so they pushed the button that would take them to number 5. the apartments. the hallway that was shown was like the one in the basement. it was wide and circular with fancy doors showing the entrances to each future home. again, their guide spoke.

"these homes are all well equipped to provide for singles, couples or even families that decide to spent time here. there is no rent charge. if needed, the rooms can be modified to suit its current residence. nearly all levels are open to all residents. only my level is of limits. except to those invited to that level. I'm not too sure how many can live here. i haven't been able to count all the rooms yet. i gave up after counting room #97. i love the idea that my friends will always have somewhere to go. weather they need it or not." the guide then showed us back to the elevator.

By now, the group was feeling hungry so every one agreed to floor number 7. the kitchen. The doors of the elevator opened up to what looked like a large food court. What ever they could possibly crave, could be provided for here. Except that there was no one to serve it up. The group looked to their guide for an answer.

"ok, so I cheated a little on this one. I skipped over to a dimension that had a hell of a head start, technology wise. They were up to star trek level. So I borrowed some tech to make food replicators. I get the meals with out having to make or have anyone make it for me. Although I do have a few kitchens set up for anyone to use if they wish. I sometimes use the kitchen myself just to keep my skills sharp. You name it and I can make it."

our guide stood there smiling, looking pretty proud of hir skills behind a stove. After a hearty meal, we wandered back to the elevator. Only 2 levels left to check out.

It was kind of an unspoken agreement to check out the level 8 pantry next. Since they had not received an invite to their guides room level. The pantry was like 20 supermarkets combined into one building. Rows upon rows of dry goods, freezers, and fresh gardens filled the level to such a fullness that it was nearly mind boggling to behold. It was no wonder so many families could be housed here with no problems, food wise. But it was still just that, a pantry. So they shuffled back to the elevator. Not sure if it would travel down, or maybe, up.

after returning to the elevator, their guide surprised them once again by blushing shyly as shi hirself pressed the button for floor 10. Private Quarters. the guide refused to look at them the entire ride. when the door opened this time, the group was surprised by how 'normal' the private quarters of their guide was. there was a normal bedroom with a hammock. a front room with a very comfy looking sectional couch in front of a very large TV. the kitchen looked like it was just there for appearances. a large bathroom with a VERY large jacuzzi tub and a shower built for maybe four people at once. there was a few storage closets, nothing TOO spectacular. the group decided to relax and cuddle on the couch together while quietly watching some TV. all too soon though it was time to end the tour. it was very late at night now. their guide escorted them all the way back down to the lobby and to the front door. when it opened, they expected to see the dark woods outside. instead, they saw their own home. their guide spoke up when shi saw their confusion.

"my front door has the same properties of that of the Tardis from Dr. Who. through it, you can step into anywhere and anytime. with it, i can stay in touch with any of my friends."

the group loved that idea so they merrily stepped through to their own home. once more the guide spoke to them.

"goodnight new friends. if you wish, i will set up a permanent doorway for you to visit any time you desire. And of course, there is always a room available for you if you want. Just let me know."

after that was said, the door to Home Tree closed and shimmered from sight, leaving you alone in your own home.

end of tour.
