Enjoy Life While it Lasts. Part 4. Time Of Rest
" I think hes starting to wake up.. " A voice whispered.
Luki's ears twitched and he opened one eye slowly before moaning and curling up a little. Light was pouring in through a window and it was so bright. The light faded and he felt something soft brush across his foot. After a few more moments he opened his eyes again and noticed a Ninetales stareing at him with a slight grin across its muzzle.
" I knew it.. Good thing too.. Henry and Jane were starting to think they had lost you. You can hear me right? " The Ninetales asked. It was speaking mentaly to him like Rable would. Luki slowly sat up and nodded. " Yea.. I d- WHERE IS RABLE!? " The lucario suddenly joilted up a couple feet and looked around while nearly stumbleing off the bed and onto the rough wooden floor.
The Ninetales that had still blocked out the sunlight with its form looked a tad nervious and scooted back to the other edge of the human bed. " Who is that? A friend? " It asked.
" YES! Please i had him with me. Where did he go!? " Luki wailed this time with his voice rather then keeping his thoughts contained.
The Ninetale's ears bent back and it wraped its tails around itself nerviously as its thoughts went into his mind. " Was he the Houndoom or the Mewtwo..? "
" The Mewtwo.. " Luki said softly while scooting back to the other end of the bed himself. He looked around at his surrondings appearing very paranoid. The inside of the wagon was pretty big. The bed he was on was at the end of it. And there was a small table and a couple chairs. Along with what seemed like a crystal ball on the table and a couple old but soft looking rugs lay on some of the wooden floor. Stars and other symbols hung from the ceiling in the center as well. The door to the wagon was open and more sunlight was comeing in.
" The Mewtwo was.. Dead.. Im so sorry.. " The Ninetales finally managed to say. It looked down and looked very uncomfortible.
" He is NOT dead.. Do you not feal him? He is ALIVE... What did you do with him? Where is he? Please i must know.. " Luki said before crawling a few feet closer to the Ninetales.
" Henry and Lunarani are out burying him now.. And Jane is tending to your other fri- " The Ninetales yelped slightly as it watched the lucario dive off the bed and bound out the room.
" Where is he?! Good lord where is he?! " Luki growled as he looked around.
" Oh dear you shouldn't be- " A voice said but by now Luki had made out two figures at the top of a hill nearby and ran toward them as fast as he could without even looking to see who had spoken to him. When he got to the top he saw a young man with long white hair with a shuvel and another ninetales turn to look at him.
" RABLE! " Luki wailed. He dived past them and began clawing and digging at the mound of dirt so quickly that it seemed like a earthquake had came with all the dirt flying through the air. He felt something put a hand on his shoulder but he shuved it away without looking and then finally he saw Rable. He grabed him protectively and turned around slowly. The man and the ninetales both stared at him like he was absolutely insane.
" HES... NOT... DEAD.. " He growled at them before picking the mewtwo up like had before and starting to walk away. His body was shakeing though and his hands were bleeding a little. He felt so weak all a sudden. Even after fealing all that energy earlier he felt his legs give out like he was starting to become a doll like Rable. He stared down at himself and began to sob silently.
He felt that hand touch his shoulder again. And he joilted around to see Henry. " Okay.. Im sorry. Please dont go. You need to rest.. " The human said with a kind smile.
" Why...? Did you do that? " Luki asked. The human looked confused since he did not know what the lucario was asking about. His reponse was simple since he felt it answered most of what his question could be. " Because i felt it was the right thing to do.. C'mon, can you stand? "
Luki shook his head after a moment.
" Okay.. Well ill just carry you back. If that doesn't offend you. " Henry said softly.
" Please. Take Rable first. I will wait here.. " Luki said while his eyes slowly drifted from the human to the limp pokemon by his side. The human paused only a moment with a expression of pity and confuseion before nodding and Rable up and walking away. The other ninetales remained and tilted its head at him.
" If you try to do much else today you might die.. You lost alot of blood. Dont worry we wont do anything else without asking you. Just try to stay awake now until Jane looks you over, kay? " The Ninetales said seriously.
" What is your name..? " Luki thought as his head tilted down a little and he almost fainted. He shook his head a little and remained awake. The Ninetales went a little closer appearing very worried before saying " Im Lunarani. My sis Luna should have kept you in bed.. Your perhaps in worse shape then the houndoom. Later i would like you to tell me what happend to you all.. That poor pup is seriously burned. "
Luki nodded. " I will.. Thank you... "
By now Henry had returned and he was soon picked up and returned to the wagon. He was tucked in bed almost like a kid by his parents with Rable whom didn't seem to have any dirt at all lingering on his body. Luki honestly had never thought he would feal this at peace ever again. Even though Rable was still not with him in this world yet he felt safe.. And sure of himself. The two humans Henry and Jane along with the two ninetale's all looked at him with such love it was like they were family. They didn't ask him anything and Jane had confirmed it was alright for him to sleep. So they had soon left the room after Jane had placed a glass of water near the bed. As Luki began to drift off he could hear their faint voices talking outside.
