A new town, a new start, and a new life, but why? Well, that one is easy to answer, you see I have recently broken up with someone who I believed to be a loyal and loving partner, right up until last night when I arrive home and find him in bed with his boss, a hell of a way to get ahead in business I guess.

After much shouting and screaming and insulting, I just threw what I needed into the trunk of my car and left. Tears filled my eyes as I tried to put as much distance between me and Jack, my now ex Dalmatian lover.

We had been together for ten incredible years, oh sure my friends and family had all warned me that Jack could not be trusted but I guess it's true what they say that love is blind, there is another saying that you can use for me, there is no fool like an old fool.

So here I am now at 3:15 am driving to a new town, any new town, all I want is to start a new life somewhere that no one knows me and where I'm not likely to be seen by anyone that knows me, a completely clean break.

So far I guess that I have passed through about five towns, I look down at my fuel gague and realise that I'm running pretty low, I'm also feeling really tired and hungry. About a mile back I passed a sign announcing that I was about to enter the town of Deansville, hopefully, there is somewhere to get fuel a bite to eat and a bed for a few hours.

Result, in the distance I see the lights of a gas station forecourt burning bright, five minutes later and I'm pulling up to a pump on the deserted forecourt. I begin to fill my tank while I scan the road both ends for any other signs of life, nothing, oh well it looks like I get some snacks as well as my fuel and then find somewhere out of the way to lower the back of my car seat down so that I can finally get some sleep.

I walk into the shop and find everything that I need for my snacks and then head to the counter to make my purchase, behind the counter is another Dalmatian male, probably mid to late twenties and yes he is also smoking hot, but his face just conjures up the face of my ex so I quickly pay for my fuel and goods and then beat a hasty retreat back to the car.

I drive for about another half an hour and then I find a pull in at the side of the road and so I pull over, I check my phone for calls and messages and find that Jack has tried to call me twelve times and has texted me five times, I clear my call and text history and set about dealing with my snacks, after ten minutes I recline the back of my car seat and try to get some much needed sleep.

...................................................................................................................................................

I'm woken up a few hours later by the sound of someone tapping on my window. I open my Rottweiler eyes and find a fellow Rottweiler staring back at me, I look at my watch and see that it is now 8 am and it is daylight, I roll down my window to address my visitor.

"Hey, there bud are you having car trouble?"

My brain registers the question and tries to formulate an answer that won't get me a one way ticket to the ER department of the local hospital.

"No, I was just passing through and needed a place to lay my head so that I could get some sleep."

The other Rottweiler just nods and then makes his reply.

"Well if I were you I wouldn't stay parked here for too long because you're likely to get towed."

The Rottweiler then looks inside my car and can clearly see the remnants of my early morning snack.

"There's a diner about three miles down this road, I'm heading there myself, if you haven't got any pressing business to take care of then I wouldn't mind a bit of company at breakfast."

Oh damn, I can hear the voices in my head already "You're on the rebound" and "It's too soon" and "I wonder what his ass is like?"

To be honest my meagre snack from earlier didn't really do anything to stem my hunger and so I guess the only thing I can do now is to offer the guy a lift to the diner.

"Well bud if you're going there too then we may as well go together, I'll just shift the rubbish off the passenger seat and then we can head off."

And now there is another voice in my head "Be Careful Jason, this is a stranger that you are letting into your car...a sexy stranger granted but a stranger all the same" I try to quell the voices in my head as I clear the passenger seat of the debris from my snacks, I dump it on the back seat so that I can throw it away in the trash later.

My fellow Rottweiler opens the passenger door and then slips slowly into the seat, I watch as he gets in and instantly my Rottweiler pride begins to stir, jesus this guy has it all, compassion, friendleness, drop dead good looks, and an ass that I would be happy to have seated on my face or cock, a lovely round bubble butt that has a deep valley that you could probably park a bicycle in, otherwise he probably has a little extra fat but nothing to call him obese, like me he has a full tail but unlike me he has a slightly lighter fur colour. Oh shit, I hope he doesn't notice my raging boner.

Once he has fastened his seat belt he turns slightly in his seat and holds out his right hand paw, I take his paw into my own as he introduces himself.

"The names Dale Harrison."

I make my reply.

"Jason Hawk, pleased to meet you, now that we are no longer strangers my belly is starting to grumble so show us the way to this diner."

I catch the fact that he has just given my crotch a quick scan before pointing his eyes forward and looking through the windscreen.

"Erm, okay Jason, as I said just drive down this road for about three miles and we'll see the diner on the left."

I start the engine and put the car into gear, I then follow the instructions that Dale had given me and sure enough, after a ten minute drive, a diner looms up large on the left. I pull into an empty parking space and we both exit the car, I open the rear door and collect the trash from the back seat, I then close the door and make sure that the car is locked before walking towards a trash bin to dump the trash, with that done Dale and I enter the diner.

The diner is one of those old Silver Streak carriages, the exterior is covered with chrome panels and neon lights, inside it is just like a typical American diner but in the UK, bench seats and tables adorn the floor space and each table has a mini jukebox on top, very 1950's.

Dale walks up to the counter which again gives me a chance to check out his beautiful rear, I'm brought out of my trance by Dale's voice.

"So Jason what are ya having?"

I step up to the counter and scan the menus that are on the wall at the back of the counter area, I finally decide to go with a full English breakfast with a side order of toast and a bottle of coke to wash it all down with, Dale mirrors my order except for the drink which he chooses a strong coffee.

Dale puts his right hand paw into his back pocket to pull out his wallet before I stop him.

"Dale, let me get this, after all, you saved me from being towed and you knew about this place so it's the least that I can do."

Dale tips his head forward slightly in silent thanks, we then head to an empty table and take our seats to wait for our food, as we sit there waiting Dale begins to strike up a conversation.

"So Jason, what brings you to Deansville?"

I consider my words carefully, do I need to give him the 'NEED TO KNOW' version, the 'FULL UNEDITED WHISTLES AND BELLS' version, or just the 'VAGUE' version, I decide that for know I will go with the vague version.

"Well, I needed to get away from my old life so I jumped into the car, pointed it in a direction and drove on, I'm looking for a new place to stay where no-one knows me and that is affordable, I'm also looking for work too."

Could he tell that I was holding stuff back? Probably, but he didn't seem to pay it too much attention and seemed to accept my explanation. Our food arrived and we made short work of devouring it, I have to say that I'm glad that Dale brought us here because the food is fantastic. With the food finished Dale continues the conversation.

"Well there are a few empty places here in Deansville because let's face it its hardly a bustling metropolis, if we have two buses full of passengers stop here at the diner then we would consider that to be a really busy day, as for work, well I know that there are a few jobs about it just depends on what you are looking for?"

I think about what jobs I have done in the past, to be truthful I have done quite a lot, from starting out as a Heavy Goods Vehicle (Truck) Driver to the job that I was doing when I left Brindlewood, which was a web designer for a major company.

"Actually Dale I can turn my paw to pretty much anything, my last job was as a web designer for a large company, okay I'm not the worlds best at it but I can hold my own."

I catch the tempo of a beat as Dale's tail thumps against the back of the bench seat, I can also see a broad smile on his muzzle.

"Web designer huh? Well I work for the local newspaper and we have been talking about putting ourselves online for quite a while, I'm sure that my boss would be willing to set you up in a job so that we can bring the Deansville Gazette into the 21stcentury."

It's now my turn to sound out a drum beat on the back of the seat, oh sure there are no guarentees that I will get a job, or even if there is a job on offer, but so far Deansville seems like the kind of place where I could just blend into the background and not be bothered by my old life. What harm could it do me to head to the newspaper's office and see how the land lies?
