This was a request kindly done for me by longtailedfox. This story is a spin off from my story "A show of character" For anyone who hasn't read it Alison was the little Husky pup that beat Gemma in the dog show in that story.

My name is Alison...Alison Glacier Princess. That is the name I was given when I was born to be sold to humans. Honestly, I prefer just Alison as opposed to the full name. I am a hybrid like many of the others of this world. I have human qualities but am mostly a canine. To be specific; the canine I am, is a husky female.

For as long as I can remember I have participated in one dog show after another. I will not, however, forget my first time as a contestant. That first time also marked my first time as a victor. I was young, no more than a shaking pup. I don't remember much before the point of being groomed for dog shows since I was almost immediately prepared for my first since birth. I don't even remember much of my mother save for the fact that she was a beautiful all white husky.

Humans are kind of silly when it comes to these shows. If you are meant to be in one then you are definitely going to be treated different than any everyday hybrid. Different by way of how you are fed, different by how you are treated, and even by how you are allowed to play. I enjoy the shows now, but I was terrified that day I was told I was to be shown in front of thousands.

"Alison?" My mistress had sat me in her lap and was petting through my hair lovingly.

"Yes mistress?" I cooed out, loving the treatment.

"As I have said before, next week you are to be entered into the dog show. We must go over a few rules if you are to succeed as number one." Her tone was as serious as it had ever been and I knew, even at that age of six; that was a tone to listen carefully to.

"Rules?" I nodded as I asked

"Yes as well as knowing what to expect. Such as the eyes of thousands upon you watching you perform." That's where I was hit in the hug mentally. The word 'thousands'.

I panicked and meeped. "Thousands?!But, mistress!"

"No buts Alison! You will compete, end of story." That was the end of the argument.

The first thing my mistress had me do was get groomed. Now it's my favorite part because I get to look exceptionally pretty. In fact even on my first time I loved it because after the procedure I felt amazingly cute.

After that I was subjected to a checkup. And yes, I mean subjected. It was almost like torture having those humans pretty much feel me up and down and probe my orifices. I couldn't stand having the thermometer in my bottom hole. And all the while my mistress was telling me not to slouch and to stop whining. No matter how many shows I do, that is always my least favorite part.

After said procedures had been met, I had a week to get in the right mindset for the show. Still, I was nervous as nervous could be. Every night I had dreams of failure, even at such a young age. It did help that mistress bought me a new collar and leash and a show outfit. The outfit was a one piece swimsuit that was a dark red and it fit snugly around my form. When I saw myself in the mirror wearing the full ensemble, I truly felt like I was fit to wear the name Alison Glacier Princess. I was adorable, yet still so scared.

Soon enough, the day of the Dog Show came. My mistress carried me on her lap in the limo the whole way. I got a chance to look out the window and was amazed at the sheer number of competitors. This...did not help my enthusiasm. My mistress still assured me that if I did just as directed, I would be fine. I felt extremely nervous in any case.

We were soon directed through the stadium to the preparation area. While they were my competitors, I was quite inspired by their beauty at the time. Now, as an older canine, I see them as only my competition mostly.

The inspector then came by to get my name and assign me a number. The number given to me was six. I felt myself almost go completely limp when, after a few minutes of preparation, I was led out to the stadium. Apparently, my mistress had greatly underestimated the turnout for the event as it seemed like more than just a few thousand had attended. I was led onto the field and was shocked beyond all compare at the numerous fan attendees.

One by one the competitors were walked around the field for the spectators to get a good look at us. And one-by-one we were led up to a table to be checked for grooming, obedience and posture. I did not know it at the time as a small kit, but there is a part of the competition that many fans are anxious to see. That being, the second part of the judging, the au natural portion where we are stripped of our clothes (and sometimes dignity) and judged in a manner that I felt was most frightening. A contestant is led up onto a stand and the judge, without saying as much as two words, runs his human hands over the body and then proceeds to probe and prod every orifice, checking for even the slightest detail.

It goes without saying that when I arrived at the podium, after seeing the fate of so many before me, that I was scared out of my wits. The thermometer from my checkup was bad enough. I tried to hide my "valuables" by placing my tail between my legs but the judge would have nothing of it. He held my tail out of the way and even before he can move his hands all the way down my body I feel a sudden sense of relief that I suddenly knew was not supposed to happen. I was mortified even at such a young age; I had wet the judging table. I saw the look on my mistress' face and it was that of shock and disappointment all rolled into one. They eventually cleaned the area and continued my examination, despite my protests and whimpers.

As I was led back into the preparation area I was greeted by a large canine like myself and she told me something that completely calmed my nerves and fears.

"Don't worry; it happens to the best of us." She smiled at me as I was led to my area.

What happened next must have been a miracle as the head judge read off the runners up, I did not hear my number. I did not hear it, until it was called out as the winner. I: Allison Glacier Princess had won on my very first show.

Needless to say, my owner was ecstatic and I think a little bit surprised as well, all things considered. From that day forth she and I knew what my future would consist of, and I was ok with that.

I still am. I have grown a lot since then and it has been several years. I am now the prime age of twenty-one and am still doing these shows and winning quite a lot. My mistress has introduced me to quite a few nice males but...I'm just not ready to breed yet. Sure, my world isn't perfect and I have learned that being a hybrid has its inconveniences...but that's life, no? Thanks to these shows I have learned much at a very young age. One thing I have learned is you take what you are given and make the best of what you have. And you know...that kind of works. In any case, I have to go train. Can't be a winner just lazing around telling stories. Seeya!
