Hoo boy... a very.... VERY belated trade story for which took TWO YEARS to do... Normally I'm quite quick with these stories, but sadly in the case of this one, the story you're seeing published here is the THIRD version of it. The original versions ended up getting lost twice, one due to computer issues (the first time when my PC went up the wall), and one due to my external drive of some 8 or 9 years dying on me. All I had saved to Google Docs was the plot information, the one time I worked off-site on something it was hit by calamity. Reminds me of when I swapped to Google Docs the first time where my old systems blue screened on a whim.I have to thank him for his tremendous patience - having to restart this twice and going through all the crap I've dealt with in recent times made this hell to work on (This one was started again in January, hence the setting), but I'm glad I was able to get it finished, I'm glad that he likes it, and I'm hoping that if we do trade again, nothing will go wrong for me so I can do it swiftly. You're a great guy ^^All that aside, here's a nice little story of Shade turning Rob into his crowsona, with a bit of silly humor mixed in :)Shade (C) MyselfMartin (C) RobertDaysonPosted using PostyBirb

"Well, that's another Christmas out of the way!" David said to himself, tossing out the last few remnants of festive rubbish into the recycle bins outside of his house. Another holiday season had come and gone, as had friends and family who had paid him a visit over this time, and now all that was left to do was to get the house cleaned up and all the decorations taken down, and then his house would be back to normal for another year. Of course, it always left him feeling a little bit sad, since he had a great time over Christmas, and he couldn't help but feel down now that it was all over, and that some of his visiting friends had gone back home meaning he didn't have anyone to keep in regular contact with outside of internet messaging.

"Guess really all I can do now is look ahead and see how this year will go - would be nice to be able to get a bit more writing done compared to last year!" He thought to himself, heading back inside. "Although, hrm... I wonder what I could write about to get the ball rolling this year?" He closed the door behind him, heading back upstairs to his bedroom, fetching a book that he kept close to his computer. It was full of various kinds of ideas for stories, including plotlines and elements he either hadn't tried yet or was trying to plan out, subjects and types of transformations (mostly all animal related), as well as a few other ideas which he couldn't properly recall - some of them did come to him out of nowhere, so he always wrote down what he could remember of it if he was nowhere near his computer or notebook.

"Man, so many ideas to choose from... where do I get them all?" He was spoilt for choice, to say the least - lots of good transformation choices, as well as settings that'd help support them.

"My guess is that you've got an overactive imagination, am I right?" A voice called out to him.

"Yeah, that's one way of putting it!" He chuckled, not immediately noticing anything out of the ordinary. "I guess it helps when you're a writer to have a good amount of ideas kept aside, just in case you ever hit a mental block!"

"But what happens if you hit a mental block when you're going with an idea you've already got planned out? What then?"

"At that point, I suppose it doesn't hurt to take a break, maybe get some fresh air or play something to get everything flowing again!"

"Seems like you've got a plan for everything, doesn't it?" The voice giggled.

"Damn right, I'm not the type to be caught short that easily!" He laughed proudly. "Hey, wait a minute... who am I talking to?" He blinked, looking around. Sure, he heard voices in his head from time to time, but that was usually just in his dreams, and dreams are where a few of his ideas came from. The last thing he'd want is to be hearing voices whilst he was awake, because that could lead to him getting committed if he said anything about it to anyone, and it'd be hard to write anything in a straightjacket.

"If this were any other situation, I'd say the voice in your head!" The voice chirped. "But since we're not dealing with you having a manic episode... I'd say look behind you."

"Look behind me?" He rolled his eyes, turning around. "We're seriously dealing with this pantomime - HOLY HELL?!" He tumbled backwards, falling out of his chair.

"Hrm... not the reaction I normally get..." The creature chuckled.

"You.. you're..." He stammered in disbelief, looking up at her - she was an anthropomorphic raven, body adorned with purple markings, her wings mostly blades of energy that fanned around her. Her eyes shone purple, and her silvery hair ran down to her shoulders.

"Cute? Pretty? A bird?" She smirked, her beak surprisingly flexible in its ability to produce expressions.

"The last one! AND real!" He pushed himself back to his feet, still trying to comprehend what he was seeing. "I'm seeing things... I'm not getting enough sleep, yeah, that's gotta be it!"

The raven tilted her head, reaching towards him, pinching his cheek with her taloned claws. "If I wasn't real, I probably couldn't do this then, could I?"

"Ack, ok, you're real, let go before you tear off my face!" He winced, her grip quite firm.

"Hehe~" She obliged, releasing his cheek, David reaching up to rub it. "Since we've confirmed this isn't a dream, why don't I introduce myself? The name's Shade!"

"Shade... why's that name familiar?" He thought for a moment... he swore a friend of his used a character of that name for their stories. She even looked like that character, every last detail being accurate. He looked at Shade, who was waiting for him to give her his name. "Oh! Sorry, the name's David!"

"I tend to hear that from time to time, no worries there!" She extended a clawed hand for him to shake. David did so, extending his own hand, shaking the raven's talons - then nearly recoiling from the tight grip that she had.

"Ack! You've got a pretty good grip!" He winced, pulling back.

"You say that like it's a bad thing~" She said in a flirty tone. "Being a bird, a strong grip is only natural!"

"True, true... still, that's quite a wicked grip for a pretty gal like yourself!"

"Hehe." She took another look at David, as if wondering just what she was going to do with him. "So... tell me a little bit about yourself, David!"

"Huh... well I don't really know what to say..." David blushed, looking at the witch before looking back at his computer. "I mean I do like to do some writing every now and then, as well as compose music whenever something comes to mind."

"Writing? What kind of writing, if I can ask?" She cooed.

"The most of the writing I do is transformation based - turning humans into animals, that sort of stuff!"

"Transformation, you don't say..." A mischievous grin crossed Shade's beak.

"I figured that'd be to your liking. I mean, if you are THE Shade I'm thinking of. She's quite fond of taking humans and transforming them into different animals!"

"Are you working on any transformation in particular right now?" She asked.

"Not at the moment, though I did have an idea that I might put to paper a little later on if I can think of a way to go with it!"

"Care to share it with me? I'd love to hear it!" Shade smiled.

"It's nothing TOO special, I just thought it'd be fun to do a story with my crow persona doing some stuff."

"A crow?" Her eyes lit up. "I'm kind of a sucker for other corvids!"

"That makes sense!" He nodded. "But yeah, he's got a way of working some magic here and there. I don't quite know if it's on the same level as what you're capable of, if you ARE the Shade I'm thinking of, but ya know."

"Are you REALLY doubting me when I'm standing right here in front of you?" She stepped a little closer, looking into his eyes.

"Er, well, I..." He gulped, nervous and just a little intimidated.

"I guess I should do something to erase the fog of doubt from your mind, right?" She placed a hand on his shoulder, a purple aura spreading around her hand.

"A-are you...?" He gasped, noticing the magical aura swirling near him.

"Am I going to change you? Why yes!" She giggled, sending that magical aura right into David's body, nearly knocking him off his feet.

"Guh!" He trembled, catching himself against the wall, heart beating faster. "S...should I be worried about this?"

"Oh not at all, this will be relatively painless!" She assured him. "And don't worry, I've made this so you won't get aroused - I have a feeling that you like to keep it clean for the most part, am I right?"

"That's... good to know, I guess?" He was still shaking, his hands feeling oddly dry. He took a look at them, the skin flaking away from them, revealing ash-grey scales underneath, sharpened claws poking free from his fingertips. He looked at them in complete awe, the scales working their way part-way up his wrists before stopping short, a pins-and-needles sensation working its way through his arms and body.

"Though you still might want to take off your clothes before it gets too late to salvage them!" She gave him a fair warning, prompting the human to quickly strip down to just his underpants. Just as he got his top off, hundreds of quills erupted through his flesh, soon blossoming outwards into elegant black feathers that moved to cover his body, concealing the human flesh.

"Man, this feels so weird..." He didn't know what to make of it, running his taloned hands through his new plumage, staring at them in a mix of confusion and amazement. Naturally he had written so many stories over the years about transformations, but he knew that there was no way that it could actually happen in real life. Yet here Shade was, a creature that he thought was just a figment of someone's imagination, and she was working her magic on him.

"I do tend to hear that a lot on some of the safer transformations~" She trilled, eyeing up a pair of bumps that were rising against his shoulders, steadily bulging outwards. "It's a natural reaction to what's going on. Hell, if this was a movie or TV show, the person changing would more likely be in complete and total shock or scared out of their mind! Trust me, you don't know how tiring it can get for a gal like me to see someone in tears or be in full panic mode, these things should really be enjoyed!"

"Eheh, well I think I get you there. I can understand it sometimes, but I think some people would jump at the opportunity for this to happen to them!"

"And yet you're taking it fairly calmly." She pointed out, causing him to blush. His muscles toned up under his feathers, not growing too huge overall, yet still giving him a physique that made him look like he hit the gym every so often. "I hope you don't mind the mild dose of muscles, gotta give the female crows something to admire!" She teased him further, only making his blushing more obvious.

"Come on now, I don't think they're gonna go THAT nuts for me... are they?" He asked, looking at the raven witch.

"I dunno, a cute birb-to-be such as yourself will attract a few birds, even if you have to make some of them yourself!" She nudged his side. His rear firmed up just as the odd sensation flowed into it, a tugging sensation on the base of his spine distracting him. Glancing over at his backside, he saw a fan of large black tail feathers spread wide, all sprouted from his new tail. "You've got the plumage for it, sweetie!"

"E...eheh..." He was blushing so hard that his face was now as red as a tomato, the only area so far where the feathers hadn't grown over. His hips and thighs adjusted themselves, still maintaining their human configuration whilst at the same time allowing for a few avian qualities to sneak in, his legs down to his knees covered in the same dark down as the rest of him.

"Sadly for now, I do need to keep this clean and not get you too worked up." She teased him, sitting back on his bed. His feet stretched and twisted, the toes merging together into three broad digits, a fourth emerging from the back of his feet whilst his heels clicked and popped upwards, sharp, curving talons sprouting from each toe.

He sat down next to Shade, wriggling his new claws as he felt his tail feathers brush against the bedsheets, an odd sensation that he'd no doubt get used to eventually. His knees down to his feet scaled over, covering in the same scales as on his hands and lower arms.

"Oh, and by the way, you might want to brace yourself ever so slightly for this next part!" Shade warned him, giving him a bit of space. Before he could question what exactly he had to brace for, he felt a sudden strong pressure in his back where the bumps had been forming. He leant sideways towards the wall, arching his back to try to relieve the pressure, letting out a sharp groan as a pair of elegant, feathery wings erupted from his shoulders, spreading wide around him, curving slightly to avoid hitting the nearby walls or Shade. He gave them a few cautious flaps, a smile coming to his face when he saw just how easily he could control the new appendages.

"Heh... I think I might end up growing to like this form really quickly!" He smirked, the feathers working their way up to his head now. His hair withdrew back into his head, the feathers overtaking it whilst his head ever so slightly reshaped itself. He went to say something else, yet found it hard to get anything out, his jaws going numb. He attempted to force some words out, only to end up emitting a low caw, his teeth fusing together to form a pair of solid masses. They grew outwards from his mouth, stretching the lips apart as they pulled back to form the base of his new beak, his nose merging with the appendage, nostrils resting near the top of it. He ran his tongue along his new bill, feeling how sharp it was, as well as noticing his tongue growing longer and thinner, pointed at the tip.

"Kkrrawwww, that was awkward!" He was able to get the words out, his ears shrinking away into tiny holes in the sides of his head, the changes ending with his eyes moving towards the sides, turning a vibrant shade of blue.

"I know from experience that it's not always that easy to grow a beak. The amount of times I've seen people struggle with it is honestly amazing!"

"I'm gonna guess that you've given quite a few people beaks in your lifetime, then?"

"Beaks, scaly maws, furry snouts, you name it!" She smiled. "And now that you're a crow, you'll be able to give people those things too. That is, if you wanna~" She giggled in a flirty tone. "I'm sure you've got a load of people you can think of that'd love to end up as something like yourself, right?"

"Hrm..." He held a clawed hand to his beak, stroking it as he gave it some thought. "I do have some local friends I'd probably be able to treat to a new form, and with these new wings, I'm sure I'll be able to pay a visit to a few friends I know from overseas... Although, I might also have a few other ideas in mind~" He looked towards seemingly nowhere with a sly smirk.

"Er... who are you talking to, exactly?" Shade blinked in confusion - she had been able to follow him with the first part of that statement, but the rest of it seemed to be aimed at no-one in particular. It was like he was addressing someone who wasn't even there, or talking to someone who might have been reading or watching something.

"Oh, nothing, just having a bit of a moment!" He laughed.

"A moment..." Shade didn't know what to make of it. "If I wanted to turn you into someone who more often than not breaks the fourth wall, then I probably would have turned you into the male equivalent of Pinkie Pie!"

"Sounds like someone's a brony~" He teased.

"That would be pegasister in my case, David." She corrected him.

"Either or, you like it. Oh, and given what you've made me, I think it's only fitting that I take on the name of my sona. From now on, I'll be known as Martin Fortsona!"

"Martin, you say?" She looked at him. "Doesn't sound like too bad a name!"

"Why thank you!" He squawked happily.

"HOWEVER!" She boomed, taking him by surprise. "If you're gonna be going with a new look and identity, what say you that we do it right?" She winked, using her magic to produce a black fedora and a pair of square-framed glasses, offering them to him.

"Don't mind if I do!" He chirped in appreciation, placing the new items upon his head. "Gotta say, I look just like how I pictured myself in those stories I wrote!"

"Oh?" She trilled. "Is it that accurate!"

"Yeah! I mean I hadn't really gotten much of him... I mean, me, drawn, so it's nice to see that you've pretty much nailed the design!"

"Well, I'm honestly happy to hear that!" She happily tweeted. "Here's to hoping that your friends dig the new look as much as you yourself do!"

"Oh I'm pretty sure that they well. In fact, I know that a LOT of people are bound to like this new look!" He looked beyond Shade with a sly grin.

"Martin, you're breaking the fourth wall again..." She pointed out.

"Ah, eheh. Nothing wrong with that though, surely!"

"Depends on the company you have when you do it. Last thing you want is for the people with the white suits to book you an all-expenses paid trip to the looney bin, right?" She teased.

"What, a bit of audience interaction never hurts now and then~" He teased back.
