Mesozoic Park 2 (Part 1)
#2 of Mesozoic Park 2
It has been many, many years since the accident at Mesozoic Park, sadly for Jake and his family, some accidents can't be swept under the rug. Paying for funerals, numerous people suing, and legal fees. Jake and Gena are still happily together along with their son, Matt, living in a large house on the main land, far away from the old island of Mesozoic Park in an undisclosed location to prevent fans and protesters from visiting. It's not very often that they can go out, even to the store without getting recognized.
While Jake and Gena are still happy, Matt misses the park and the dinosaurs. The little folf has since grown up to be a young man, and with this, he has been trying to date with not much luck.
After the accident, dinosaurs would occasionally wash up on beaches, often eaten and rotten, Jake visited many to give them a good bye and see that the bodies where taken care of, but they soon stopped washing up after a few months.
Even with everything that happened at the park, Jake never had enough of playing god, he helped resurrect many spices brought to extinction by humans, such as the dodo, passenger pigeon and thylacine.
Jake and Gena where relaxing at home while Matt played around on the computer. The phone rang and Jake thought it was a bit of a weird time for someone to call, but got up to answer the phone. "Hello?" he said "Jake here"
"Hello Jake" A voice calmly replied "I have some news to share with you before it gets out to the public"
Jake's heart skipped a beat "oh, this sounds pretty important, do tell"
"There was a family visiting a sheltered beach in the state of New York and they encountered an washed up dinosaur..."
It was shortly after a bad storm that swept up from the south when a small family was beach combing, a husband, a wife and their sweet little daughter. the water was calm and low, gently splashing on the sand, slowly recovering the treasures it lost to the beach.
The little girl excitedly ran around, picking up shiny things, weather it was worth anything or not while her parents took their time, getting the good stuff, fossils, coins, old parts and such. The girl noticed a large dark shape and rushed towards it, making her parents rush after her.
"don't touch it sweetie" called out her mom as the girl slowed near the head of the creature and looked it over curiously. The motionless shape looked as if it clung to a log it was now laying on for it's life with it's little arms. it was partly covered in gray and brown soaking wet feathers and looked pretty badly beaten by the storm.
The girls parents caught up and looked the beast over, her dad stepped close and lay his hand on it's chest.
With a little growl it tried to lift it's head, only succeeding in letting it's head fall into a more comfortable position and the family jumped back.
It started panting to catch it's breath which is when the wind picked up again and the waves started lapping at the dinosaur.
"they left right after the wind picked up and reported the mysterious creature to the police, we have since closed off the beach and found the dinosaur pulled itself a few feet before dying to it's injuries and hypothermia" the voice stated.
"I'll be right there to see it" Jake replied "I'll get Gena and Matt and see you there"
"thank you, Jake" the voice replied "I'll send you the exact location now... Goodbye"
"Bye" he said, but the voice already hung up. He called out "Hey, get ready, we gotta get to New York and fast!"
Gena got up and waked to him as did Matt. Jake offered a brief explanation "a dinosaur washed up" his family nodded, understanding.
The very next day they got themselves on the beach and up to the body, Jake quickly getting to work, looking it over to determine species and if it's one of his.
"Albertosaurus" he called out after working a loose tooth free "does anyone know how to tell the age of a dinosaur?"
A new voice replied, soft yet so sure of itself and not very shy "I believe the currently accepted method has something to do with taking a thin slice of its bone and examining it under a microscope and doing calculations based on the number of growth rings"
Jake looked at the young husky, a bit surprised "how did you get past security?" he asked
She smiled with a little laugh, her big fluffy tail swished as she joined him by the dinosaurs side "Daspletosaurus by the way sweetie"
"Two... sorry, three things" he said "one, don't call me sweetie, I'm more than old enough to be your dad, two I'm married, three, how can you tell the difference?"
She smiled at him as Gena wrapped her arms around Jake. the husky replied with a light blush "oh, the skull shape, also Daspletosaurus has nearly twice as many teeth as Albertosaurus"
"interesting" Jake replied "you know, I never made Daspletosaurus, so I wonder who was... Anyways, whats your name?"
She smiled "I'm Jayden" she said, looking Jake over.
Matt saw that she was bothering his dad, but also saw an opportunity "hello, I'm Matt" he held his hand out to the husky "Jake's son"
She smiled and shook his hand "nice to meet you, I'm a big fan of you all"
Jake sat down against the dinosaur, holding Gena's hand in view of the husky, who sat next to him with Matt on her other side. "Jayden" Jake said "how is it that I have fans, why do I have fans?"
She smiled, putting her hand on his thigh "I don't know man, your a bit of a celebrity and a pretty nice guy, just had some bad things happen to you"
He moved her hand off him and firmly stated "would you stop"
Jayden blushed "anyways" she said, much more shyly than before "I've been trying to contact you all, not to geek out and be a fan girl, but to tell you that I have a plan to return to the island"
Jake shook his head "bad idea" he said "even if it's empty of all life, it's still dangerous"
"Please Jake" she said, turning to him and making puppy eyes "if you do one thing for me, at least come see my plan and preparations".
Jake looked to Gena, who nodded. he looked back "yes" he said to Jayden "I'll see your plan, if you can sneak us past those reporters at the gates"
She smiled and got up "c'mon" she said.
Jake laughed "mind if we check into a hotel or something first, we are seriously drained, jet lag and all"
She smiled and nodded before leading them to a hidden path she snuck in on and brought them to her jeep, Jake and Gena sat in back and Matt took the passengers seat.
Jake and Gena almost fell asleep, but Matt was very excited, looking around at the sites, often letting his eyes pause on the husky. At one point she looked back and smiled.
"anyways, Jayden" he said, trying to make small talk "have you ever been to the park?"
She nodded excitedly "yes I was, but I was just a little girl, but even with how long ago it was, I remember it so well. It was awesome, but you grew up there, what was that like?"
Matt smiled "it was great, seeing the dinosaurs and attractions any time I wanted... but it had it's downsides, I never really had friends, sure I could hang out with the kids, but they would only be there for a few days and they would be gone"
Jayden reached over and gently pat him "I'll be your friend" she pulled out her phone and logged in "could you like add your number on here?" she asked, passing him her phone
He smiled back "thank you Jayden, and sure thing" he took her phone and after finding the right things, added himself on it before putting it back in her pocket for her. He accidentally brushed against her arm and blushed "oh my gosh, your so soft"
They laughed and continued talking throughout the trip to the hotel.
When they arrived Jake spoke out "two rooms sound good? Jayden, we'll handle the bill, just don't go crazy with the room service"
Jayden smiled "this is why you have fans Jake, your a damn nice guy"
After the rooms where set up, Jayden said good night to her three idols and headed to her room across the hall. Jake and Gena practically collapsed on the big, soft bed, Matt sat down for a little bit on his phone, just scrolling around, expecting a call or text from Jayden. Soon, he had enough waiting and went to the bathroom for a shower, he pulled his shirt off and his phone viberated.
