WHERE IS STEPHAN?

+

I AM INNOCENT.

By

Sunrise and Stephan Glazer.

29thDecember 2318

5:36pm

Sunrise saw Stephan, hir beloved, assaulted by police officers, and worst, one of them was the equine taur who pushed hir at the airport 3 days ago. Screaming with rage, shi leaped at the officer, but was knocked back by the bear morph's stun gun. Shi screamed in agony as the electricity went through hir body until shi blacked out.

Sunrise woke up, groaning and shuddering with pain. Looking at the clock, shi saw that it was 7:25pm getting up slowly; hir foggy mind went through what shi could remember, the police, Stephan on the ground and the pain from the stun gun that rendered hir unconscious.

Going to the phone, shi called police information line, trying to find out where Stephan was. The operator transferred the call to the nearest station, the officer who took hir call typed in the name on his computer. He informed hir that there was no listing of Stephan Glazer in their system.

Worried, shi gave the officer more details of Stephan, his looks, height, age and other features. He took them down and told hir that he'll inform hir if there was any news. Shi gave him the phone number. Then shi called Stephan's family, to inform them of what happened. Illumanati answered the phone, upon seeing Sunrise, shi smiled and said hello.

<Hi sexy, how's Stephan?> shi asked, hir tail wagging.

"He's been arrested by the cops." Sunrise answered, with a grim face.

<WHAT?!> shi screamed, hir disbelieving voice was loud enough to not only hurt Sunrise's ears but alert Stephan's parents of hir distress. <WHY DID THEY ARREST HIM!?'

Blacktail, Stephan's father, came in and firmly move his daughter from the phone.

"Ok Sunrise, tell me what happened, everything from the moment you 2 last spoke to my daughter." He said, with a voice of authority.

"Yes sir." Shi said, and went into detail about the day they left to go shopping, the accident, the medical procedure, when shi went shopping, picking Stephan up from the hospital and the intimacy they shared before the police turned up and arrested him and knocking hir unconscious.

Blacktail listened intently, asked a few questions about hir shopping schedule, grimaced when he heard of the hospital, then he told hir too stay where shi was and waited for his call. No sooner had shi hung up; there came a firm knock on the door.

Opening it, shi saw 3 police officers standing in front of hir.

"What do you want?" shi growled, but remained still, eyeing one of the officers, who had a hand on his stun gun.

The only female officer, a rabbit morph, handed hir a piece of paper.

"This is a search warrant, to search the premises. You are to vacate while we conduct the search." She said, as Sunrise read the paper thoroughly.

"And what are you looking for?" shi asked, glaring at the bear morph, the same one that had stunned hir earlier.

"A knife, used in a crime." She said, stepping inside.

"What knife?" Sunrise asked, confused.

"I'm sorry, can't reveal any information regarding the case in question. Now, please vacate the premises, or I'll have Constable Joshua stun you again." She said, with a threatening tone. Growling softly, Sunrise hung hir head low and left the apartment.

As they were searching hir home, shi waited outside, hearing things being moved and a lot of banging as cabinets were searched. The sound of glass breaking and materials ripped made hir heart sink and hir anger rise. What the fuck are they doing in there?

An hour later, they emerged with the entire kitchen utensils in a box, the bear and fox officer walked towards their vehicle. The rabbit officer turned to Sunrise and spoke.

"If I was you, I'll find a new place to live and a new friend." She said, with a cold stare and a sneer before following her partners.

With a vicious stare of hir own, Sunrise watched them leave and thought how nice it would be to hit them with 20,000 volts of electricity. Once they were gone, shi walked back inside, and wished that shi didn't. The sight that greeted hir made hir meowl in distress and rage.

The television was destroyed, not smashed, but taken apart; the screen was in tens of thousand of pieces. The frame was shattered beyond repair. The sofa was shredded, stuffing and material all over the floor, clearly unusable. The coffee table was smashed into pieces, glass littered the floor.

If the lounge made hir heart break, the bedrooms shattered hir soul. The mattresses were cut and torn and ripped to pieces, cut and ripped into strips. The doona's were also ripped. Personal clothing was littered on the floor, hir halters and tops amongst Stephan's clothing. While hir's were wearable, Stephan's were not. His was shredded to pieces. His digital camera was smashed, and on checking it, shi saw the memory chip was missing. The photo of hir was ripped to pieces as well. The clocks were smashed. The bedside tables were overturned.

The bathroom was left untouched, only the towels were shredded.

Sunrise just collapsed on the floor and wailed, tears streaming down hir face as anger, sorrow and worry wreaked hir body. Shi hugged hir body close as shi cried and shook, until a gentle hand on hir fur made hir look up. Kovine was looking down at hir with concern.

"Come on sweety, you need a cup of coffee." He said, picking hir up and half carried half guided hir out of the apartment and into his home. Once there, he sat hir down in front of the fireplace, which was lit, and made a strong black cup of coffee.

Soon, shi was sipping the brew and the hot liquid help a little to calm hir nerves and cheer hir a little.

"So, why were they searching the apartment?" he asked, as he drank from his own cup, looking at hir.

"A knife, apparently used in a crime. But, I know he didn't do it." shi said, with concern in hir voice.

"And what makes you say that?" he asked.

"He doesn't seem to be the type to intentionally hurt anyone." Shi said, "I spoke to his family, and his sister. They all regard him as a saint."

"Well, humans can change; it's in their nature to be cruel and malicious." He said, looking at hir again.

Sunrise just shook hir head.

"No, not Stephan, ever since I met him, he was nothing but kind and generous and helpful, he never once raised a fist to anyone, not even that bastard fag equine taur who arrested him. That bastard pushed me over at the airport, and Stephan helped me, even after I insulted him." Shi said, staring at the landlord intently.

Just then, the phone ringing from hir apartment interrupted hir thoughts. Getting up, shi made hir way there and answered it. Shi smiled when shi saw Blacktail's face looking back at hir.

"I have good news and bad news." He said, clearly tired.

"Have you found him?" shi asked, hopefully.

"Yes, he's being held at Precinct 19." He replied, smiling.

"Good, now, what's the bad news." Shi asked, dreading the answer.

"He's being charged with robbery causing bodily harm." Blacktail said, his ears flat against his head.

"But.. that's ridicules. He wouldn't do such a thing." Shi cried, punching the wall.

"Yes, I know that sweety, but the evidence they apparently have is enough to build a case. But don't worry, I'm coming over on the first flight in the morning and sort this shit out. If some dumb officer is hoping to use my son as an easy way for a promotion, then their going to be for a nasty shock." He snarled, which made even the hot tempered chakat cringed.

"Remind me not to get you pissed off." Shi said with a smirk.

"I'll do that, now, go get some rest, I'll pick you up in the morning." He said, before hanging up.

Sunrise looked at the screen for a moment before curling up underneath. Shi tried to sleep, but thoughts of what Stephan is going through kept hir up til early in the morning. Then shi finally fell asleep, but it was filled with nightmares that woke hir up 30 minutes later.

While shi was asleep, Stephan was wide awake and looking at the door to the interrogation room through one eye, as the other was swollen from repeated blows on the table. He was scared, and cold. This must be some kind of mistake. It has to be.

The officer who was questioning him had refused a phone call or legal counsel, and had laid charges against him that would be thrown out of court. And to make matters worst, he was also the same equine taur that had pushed Sunrise over at the airport.

As he shifted in his chair, the handcuffs rubbed and scraped against his skin, making them blood. If he was going to stay here all night, at least they could un-cuff him, or put him in the cell.

Glancing at the window and the dark night outside, Stephan thought back to Sunrise, lying motionless on the apartment floor, and he started weeping.

Then he whipped his head around at the door, as the key was inserted and turned, unlocking it. Then Constable Maverick trotted in, carrying more boxes of "evidence"

"Don't get too comfortable, Human, the night's only just began." He snarled, slamming the boxes on the table, grinning when he saw the human wince.

"What bullshit is this?" Stephan said, and was answered by a slap to the face.

"Shut-up, fucker, I'll ask the questions here, and you'll answer, clear?" he spat, horse saliva hit Stephan in the face.

Stephan only glared back at the equine taur, scared but also defiant.

Nodding that Stephan was compliant, he proceeded to slap photos and documents on the table, and one was a photo graph of a pretty young fox morph, with a nasty slash across her abdomen.

"Here is a statement from the victim, who said that a young black human male, in his late teens, entered the store and proceeded to rob her at knife point." He said, showing the document briefly to Stephan.

"And here, is a credit receipt for purchase of curtains in the same store at the time of the robbery. Do you see the name on the receipt?" he asked, showing the slip of paper in a clear bag.

Stephan looked, and saw his name on the piece of paper.

"So? My friend brought curtains at the store using my cred-stick. I was not even there at the time of the robbery." He replied, staring at the officer.

"Oh really?" he asked, slapping another photo in front of him. "Here's a still picture of the security camera from the store, it shows a tall black male, and the video shows a black human male entering the store and threatening the victim with a knife. Then once he got the money, he stabbed her, but he was interrupted by another customer, he then fled the scene and exited the mall before security could arrive and escaped in a PTV." He said, leering at the Stephan.

"That doesn't prove it was me. Tell me, what time did this robbery took place?" Stephan asked.

"It doesn't matter." The officer snapped, sitting down across from Stephan, his arms crossed, a nasty grin on his face.

"Well it should, when ever this crime took place, I was in hospital, with 2 fractured legs and a fractured arm..."

"STOP LYING TO ME SCUM!!" the equine taur officer shouted, slamming the table.

"But it's the truth" he said. "I was in an accident 2 or 3 days ago, I was plastered and unable to move."

"Oh really?" the officer sneered. "If that's the case, then why are you up and walking? Hmm? If you were hospitalized with 2 fractured legs and an arm, then how can you be here without a plaster cast, eh?"

"Because I had an operation to repair my body, the doctor that treated me injected nano-bytes that repaired all the damaged tissues....."

"Bullshit. There is no procedure available that could do that, you're lying and you're a no good crook and scum." He snarled, slamming the table against Stephan's chest, making him cry out in pain.

Just then, there came a knock on the door, and a squirrel officer peaked in.

"What is it Derrick?" the horse taur snarled.

"Just to let you know that the Sergeant is coming." He warned.

"Thanks." He said, pulling the table back again. He exited the room. But returned a few minutes later.

"It looks like you're in luck, the Sergeant wants this interrogation to end for the night, but we'll resume when I clock back in at 11:00, and one word of what transpired here to any of the other officers, I'll shoot you in the head and say that you tried to escape." He snarled, lifting Stephan up by the cuffs and hauled him out of the room and down the corridor to the holding cells. As he was waiting, he looked around at the other prisoners, a male badger, a skunktaur and a female wolftaur. Just then, the equine taur officer noticed something around Stephan's neck. Pulling the medallion out that looked like a heart, he yanked it off, snapping the chain.

"Mmm nice, let me guess, from your slut of a Chakamil bitch?" he said, laughing.

"Give that back" Stephan snarled, lunging at the officer, who slammed him in the stomach and then the back. As he was lying there wheezing, Stephan heard the click and the grind of the cuffs being taken off his wrists.

Then he was gripped by the large burly bear guard and tossed roughly in the cell, landing on the floor.

"Sleep dreams, if you can. Later, we'll start again." The officer replied, placing the pendent in his pocket before walking out, leaving Stephan battered and bruise and miserable.

Stephan laid there, sobbing and cursing the police officer, promising to get even. Then he was gently picked up and carried to the bed by the skunktaur and wolftaur bitch.

"Hush sweety, we'll take care of you." She said, softly stroking his hair.

"Yeah, that brute is going to pay, one of these days." Said the skunktaur, leering at the guard.

"So, what are you in here for?" the skunktaur asked.

"Robbery and assault causing bodily harm, but I'm innocent."

The badger just snorted. "They all say that." He said, staring at Stephan with a icy stare. "If you were innocent, boi, then you wouldn't be here." He said, using the old insult at Stephan.

"But I am, when the crime happened, I was in hospital." He said, feeling slightly relaxed at the attention of the wolftaur.

"Well, there's only one way to find out then." Said the skunktaur, gently laying hys hand on Stephan's forehead and closed hys eyes.

"What are you doing?" Stephan asked, slightly apprehensive.

"Relax, I'm just going to read your mind, that's all." The skunktaur said, then probed and looked into Stephan's mind, which opened up willingly.

After 2 minutes, the skunktaur nodded hys head.

"Well?" asked the badger, "Is the nigger telling the truth?"

"Yes, he's innocent, and from what I can see and tell, he's the only innocent one in this cell."

"Humph!" the badger replied, then curled up on his bunk and fell asleep.

Stephan watched him for a moment, then finally closed his eyes and was soon sound asleep, his head resting on the pillow as the wolftaur softly petted his head.

The skunktaur curled up next to her and also fell asleep, resting hys head on her bushy tail.
